WE left Los Angeles Ca. on July 12th. I took my daughter, Laura, and her 4 children with me to visit in Chicago area We left out of LAX on American Airlines, arriving in ORD at 10:15pm The next day, my daughter, Laura Sherwin went to pick up her car that I had reserved back in April, thru AAA, from Hertz 685 Golf Rd, Hoffman Estates, 60195. I rented a car from Hertz, located in a AAA travel center on Beechmont Ave., in Cincinnati on 7/18. I had to sign s rental form with no total amount on it because I was told the computers weren't operating, the car rented to me was filthy. I was due to return the car on 7/22 at 6:00 pm and brought the car back almost 2 hours early at 4:20 pm on Friday, 7/22. Today is Momday, 7/25 and the rental still has not been closed and my credit card continues to be charged $100 per day. The entire rental fee was supposed to be $296. We are now up to $795 and I won't be surprised if I look at my credit card account tomorrow and see another $100 added. I spoke with two men today, one at Hertz corporate office and a man at the Beechmont office where I rented and returned the car and both assured me the matter would be resolved today. It hasn't happened yet. This is a terrible way to do business and I can assure you I will never use Hertz again. Further, even though it probably is a meaningless gesture, I am also going to complain to AAA since they promote Hertz so highly.

charged for 2 front tyres
I rented a Ford Focus for 22 days pick up Heathrow drop of Stanstead. I drove 1350 miles mostly on motorways . On dropping of the car, the attendant walked around the car and then got down on his haunches and made a detailed inspection of both front tyres and reported to me that both tyres had damaged side walls. I stated to him that I had not hit anything during my rental and that the damage sheet given to me on pickup showed that all wheels had been damaged.. I wrote a report and signed it. The tyres were also old and the car had done 38, 000 miles.
On my return to Australia I received a receipt showing that I had been charged for 2 new tyres totalling 204 GBP. I have corresponded with hert now for more than a month and basically had no response other than their standard " customer service" report. It seems that their approach is leave it for long enough and the customer will give up!
I have spoken to a professional tyre repairer in Australia and they consider it unlikely that both front tyres could be damaged without the rear tyres also being affected. The Tyre invoice sent to me by Hertz states that the front tyres tread depth was 4mm and the rear tyres were 8mm!

deceptive billing practices and unfair billing
I rented a car at hertz at the norm mineta international airport for a week. It was set up by AAA and i was told it was a $155 a week. I kept it for two weeks and two days and returned it . they kept a two hundred dollar deposit with my atm. when i returned it i was told my bill was $525 dollars. i asked why and she said " thats all te hidden fees. I asked what hidden fees and she said taxes and license fees and the AAA discount was only good for a week. I didn't have enough money. I called thier corp office twice and was told they'd get back to me they never did. I lost my atm and got a new one. today 07/15/11 they charged my new card with a diferent number 986.96. how did they do that. i haven't called my bank yet but i need to know what action to pursue. i have no internet so please call me at [protected]. my name is frank lovinfiosse.

fraud
Hertz —
If you want to be left stranded then use this company!
Had to fly to Missouri for my dad's funeral reserved a car for Kansas City Airport. We had a two hour flight delay in Phoenix, so we called the 800 number to find out if our car would still be available when we got to Kansas Airport.
Customer service assured us that since we already confirmed the rental that there would be somebody meeting us at the Hertz counter at Kansas City Airport when we got in and not to worry.
When we got to the airport no one was there, so i called on their courtesy phone. Customer service told me that the people who work there would not be in until 5 a.m. and that i would have to wait until then to get the car.
I explained that I had already called and was assured by customer service that there would be no problem getting the car when our flight arrived and that i still had a 3 hour drive to get to my father's funeral and that I couldn't wait until 5 to get a car.
Customer service told me that I had been lied to and I could still get my car but not until 5 a.m. and that there was nothing they could do for me could do until then. I told them I already had a hotel room booked 3 hours away and couldn't afford to pay for one there also and wait until 5 a.m. to get the car. She told me there was nothing I could do but wait.
I hung up the phone and walked over to Avis, where they got me a car right away and gave me a discount on the rental too.
Hertz has lost this customer.
bad service
I have rented a vehicle from Hertz in the Erie airport last week. The car they had given me was a Toyota corolla. This car was dirty, brakes sounded horrible, oil was low, washer fluid was low, and there was trash in the center console. I called to speak to the manager about this. I got nothing but rude comments like "You shouldn't have drove off if it was dirty!" and "Oh well, I don't have anything to else to give you." I was stunned at the rudeness of the manager. Getting snooty comments from her has not only happened to me once, but on many occasions. They need to get rid of her and find someone who can actually handle a customer service job without the ### attitude. I will never be renting from there again!

ma'am if you dont mind me asking, which rep actually rented you the car?
overcharge/ gas scam
Rented a car thru a Priceline bid for a week, paid $208.94 well in advance. Picked up car at SFO on June 4, fended off all the sales pitches from the old guy at the counter, i.e. upgrade size of car, extra insurance, full tank of gas, date with his wife, everything he tried to sell me. He offered a Toyota or a Nissan, we chose Toyota and when we got to where the car was parked, it was a Nissan! 1 for the employee?
Stayed at airport hotel final night in San Fran, filled car tank full before retiring for the evening at gas station across the street from hotel and 1 mile from car return.
Returned vehicle to Hertz at 4 AM as we had 6AM flight to Miami. Black guy at Hertz return area looked at car said OK and reminded us to leave keys. We did.
Several days later a bill appeared on my Citi Bank bill for $77.71, then a paper arrived in the mail from Hertz that stated we had "fuel and service" for that amount and we had returned the car at noon.
Called Hertz, was put on hold for 8 minutes, never spoke with anyone.
EMailed Hertz and Priceline to no avail.
I have initiated a charge back at Citi.
We read and hear about these scam rental car companies but I thought it was the little guys, not Hertz.
Avoid these 2, Hertz and Priceline, save yourself the aggravation.
hertz skavsta are scammer dont rent car they are rip off!
I had pre planned my visit to Sweden and booked/paid a car online at www.hertz.com one month in advance.
The car booked was a eco green friendly.
On my arrival at the frontdesk staffs tells me the car range that I booked was not available and he mentioned that have exchanged to a better. Suddenly starts to explain the car had some cracks on windshiekd and scratches ..etc.
I mentioned why is this happening If i booked a car online I expect to get a car that I choose yet aagin worthless apologies.
I couldn't more argue as I had a funeral to attend later in the morning and was returning the car second day.
My trip back and forth and returned the car and boarded my plane, The second day I realized my credit card was charge with 5500 kr and 980kr on the original rent. I call Hertz and the lady who replied the call described on the phone that I've returned the car with some scratches and dent that she will send the photos to me ..I immidiately logged on my email and view the photos with the damages that existed and was reported on the copy of my original renting documents.
I reply the email with explaination and refering them to the contract i had which was clearly stated that this damages were recorded.
These ungrounded
Later that day I receive a formal apology via email saying the damages exisited and she wasn't aware but there was one minor dent on the same area that you will have to pay ..? Jeez this scratches and dents existed and I am accounted for !
I called and asked for explaination and they keep on passing the ball to other agent that ..well i cant answer you questions.
I feel abandoned and they have charged the unlawful amount of money from my creditcard.
This is awkward SCAM and HERTZ Skavsta (Nykoping) you have now proven to me that .
I am no longer going to be the Gold member and my money is worth the services other place and I have forwarded all the emails and receipt, photos and contract copy to the consumer complain and will take you to court.
Everyone I warn you HERTZ at Skavsta uses this type of BEWARE very common they target Foreigners/Tourist in sweden and they take advantage on this way .Never hand your credit card they draft the money whilst you gone.
We had similar experience, choose other renting company

Read full review of Hertzthe most expensive preschool with the worst quality of preschooling.
Our son's class had a certain Ms. Nikki who isn't qualified to teach or work with children. According to feedback, she made little effort to connect with children, didn't seemed enthusiastic about it, and frequently stood around like a mannequin (she does look like Barbie) or sat at her corner doing her own things while the other teacher took up all the slack. Being pregnant never stopped other women from doing what they do, but it was a convenient excuse for Ms. Nikki to do very little. Is Ms. Nikki even certified to be there? The school has given us a laundry list of stationery and materials supposedly for class projects/assignments, but we saw no more than two over five months. When we took him out after only six months, we never got those stationery and materials back. The school kept them!
For school photos, the school hired a woefully incompetent photographer that wanted payment before shooting - the first time I've seen in any photography service doing that. The school claimed that other photographers didn't work out, but I suspect this one was picked because she's Christian. When I saw the photographs, they were atrocious! Subject's hands and feet partially cut off, subject's headshots that occupied less than 10% of the frame. According to reports, the photographer had trouble prepping the children for shoots. Clearly inexperienced. The photographer in our son's previous school had no such problems, took better pictures, and asked for payment after shooting. But this one claimed to see "Through His Eyes", thus the name of her photography business. Based on the photo sets, she does not have a talent for photography. Whatever eyes she thinks she has, it ain't His! She also endangered the well-being of the children by putting the photos on her website without access protection. Not only that, she also has photos of high school girls in various provocative attire. All are accessible by simply googling her business!
At the Christmas pageant, the school went out of the way to embarrass my son with his complete unawareness. They specifically told us he must wear a sash around his waist. We saw to that, and even took two photos of him with the sash around his waist. The sash was still around his waist when he was dropped off. When he came on stage, the sash disappeared! What happened?! We later found it in his backpack. What was it doing in there? If he had a diaper change, shouldn't the teacher responsible made sure the sash was placed back around his waist. I couldn't help but wonder if it was malicious intent on the part of the school. None of the schoolteachers tried to point it out. He was the only child in his class with the sash, and that stood out like a sore thumb. Was it because my son looks foreign? Or maybe the teachers were so insecure that he was the smartest-looking child with the sash on that he could upstage their own kids and they couldn't handle it? So they took his sash off and made him look stupid. I hold Ms. Nikki and the other teacher responsible for this, though the entire school is also at fault for condoning it. When my son gets older, I will tell him about it.
After we gave 30-day notice to take our son out of the school for good, we found his name removed in every location of the classroom the following day. Couldn't the school have waited 30 days and then do this? They are so petty. Schertz Christian Academy isn't worth the money. If you read this and your children are enrolled here, take them out immediately. They are many schools that offer better preschooling at more affordable rates.

My daughter is currently going to SCA and I am not a fan of her teacher, my housband found the school and I went by to check it out for myself and I was not really impressed, but i kept an open mind to it. The lady I met with was going to be her teacher and was not excited about where she worked, she didn't shake my hand or make me feel comfortable leaving my child there. I asked her to give me a detailed list of what they teach the children all she could give me was that they teach the AB curriculum and I asked her what that consist of and she could not answer my question. Come to find out since my daughter goes part time by the time she arrives it is time for nap and after nap the children play the rest of the afternoon... really upsets me because my daughter loves to learn. When I pick her up after school the teachers tell me that I need to check her folder for activities for the day. So I went looking for her folder and after about 5 to 7 minutes of going aroung in circles I finally had to track down someone and ask for her fold or where is her folder kept, turns out that since she is part time she does not get a folder. On another occasion my daughter had a bandaid on her finger and the afterschool teach her told me that she should have an accident report in her folder, so I went digging for her folder or for the "accident report" of course I never found it and then come to find out the report was never made or written out. On a separate occasion I went to pick up my child, I was looking for her class in the usual classroom and after looking all over the building they mover her class up stairs with tell me. Of course I got upset because I wasted my time looking for her and other teachers saw me looking and poking my head in different classroom and no one told me that they moved the class up stairs for the week. My husband today as a matter of fact, dropped off my daughter and told me that the school was closing early on Friday @ 11am, of course I asked him and he said they did not give a reason. It really upsets me because I am paying them to watch my daughter and they can't even give me a full week notice of the school closing early. Now I have to find a family memeber to watch my daughter. I thought daycare was suppose to be convenient... this daycare sure is not!
My daughter is fairly new to the school and My husband and I love it. We know a few different families that have taken their children to S.C.A and that is why we were excited to enroll our daughter. She started there at about 6wks and we LOVE the staff. Everyone is so friendly and kind. We have never felt that our child has been neglected or improperly cared for. I highly reccomend S.C.A to my friends and to any one who is looking for a great place to care for their children. As for the price, after looking in the Schertz/Cibolo area this is one of the most reasonable care facilities in the area.
unprofessional treatment
Rudely treated on check in. I had asked several questions of the female manage.such as do you photo copy the D / L. Some Rental co's on the Island take that liberty and I wouldn't care to do so. Hertz doesn't
She Abruptly informed me of a$900. Charge that would be added to my contract, for incidents such as vandalism etc.
While I was waiting for the contract. The power failed. (the computer went down)They asked me to sign a blank contract.which I Refused.the Manager said sir if you don't like our terms, you can go down the road and rent from someone else.the power went back on.
I thought this was a rude answer. I was traveling with my daughter who was in her wheelchair and to push her down the road in the hot sun would be difficult. The car was reserved and rented by my wife and so chose not to walk the highway.
Prior to this incident we had waited for their van at their loading area they passed us up. We had to wait for the return of the van in the hot sun.
We used the car for one week. While leaving the beach on a Wednesday afternoon we tried to gain entry into the vehicle. The locks would not open and their were no remote key entry provided.
We made contact with the main office and they sent a mechanic.
He had a clipboard in hand and would not proceed to open the door until my wife signed the pre written document. Charging us $270. For lock tumblers. We returned the car at the office and were charged an additional day's rental.
I rent cars when traveling to places such as Disneyworld. I can not feel comfortable renting from Hertz after being treated this way.

I just want to tell everyone that Hertz not only treat their customers badly they treat their staff the same way. I worked at hertz Melbourne airport for over 5 years and in the end I got shafted after being harassed and bullied buy management for 12 months I then lost my job and the reason I was given was I did not meet their criteria. I was one of the best workers there but because Melbourne has an unprofessional ### named Gina for a manager, if she did not like you personally you were screwed.
Hertz also like to screw customers. Whether its over charging for your rental, billing you for petrol you haven't used or charging you for previous damage to the car. My advice is not to go with hertz anywhere in the world especially not Melbourne Australia...
rude driver making an unsafe u turn
I was struck by a driver making an unsafe U turn in a Hertz rental while riding my motorcycle Police report lists driver as being at fault. My vehicle was towed and I was taken to emergency room. I have called Hertz claims department twice a day for the past five days. Their outgoing message says that someone will get back to me in an hour.
So far they have not returned a single phone call. Meanwhile my vehicle has been impounded for two weeks and is undividable. I have been a Hertz customer in the past. All I can say is it that they are practicing a high level of corporate irresponsibility and disregard for the well being of the public. Has anyone had experience filing a claim against Hertz?
oh, another username?
Your motorcycle insurance company should be handling this claim against Hertz. That's if you have insurance.
unauthorized charges and customer relations are rude
Tried to rent a car with Hertz for a day to attend a funeral. Pre booked online entered my partners name as driver and my credit card details as i don’t drive and she doesn’t have a credit card. That was the fatal mistake since in the terms and conditions it says the names have to be the same. Yet somehow even though they can’t accept payment from a card in a different name, they have no problem taking the payment off the card all the same.
Presumably using the incorrect name for the card. When we turned up to collect the car they refused to let us take one as the card was mine, the staffs were rude and refused to help. I assumed that cause they could not accept the card to pay, that no charge could have been taken. But of course the workings of this firm are a mystery that someone can pay for the car and yet not be allowed to pay for the car at the same time.
I find this practice disgusting, payments should not be accepted if the name is incorrect and if it is legal to still accept the payment it could be checked and hertz if that’s their condition reject the reservation at that point. But no they deliberately allow the transaction and just put the condition in their terms and conditions, so they can still take the money. This is a disgusting shameful practice.
After finding I’d been charged complaining was an even worse experience. Customer relations are downright rude and even tried to threaten charging us more as a no show fee to cover their costs is more than our rental was. Do not use hertz they have no service standards and will try their best to charge you as much as possible in all circumstances.
Dears, you charged me for a fine because of the car wrongly parked in Cinque Terre. I already paid the fine to the police and now you are charging me again. Worse even, you debit it from my Visa Account without my consent. I will put a claim again Herz since you did not have my agreement. Pls return the money back
Was quoted a price of $288.40 usd for the week and was charged $331.89 usd.

From HERTZ customer support:
Q: Can I use another person's credit or debit card for payment of my rental?
A: Charge cards and debit cards must be in the renter's name. The renter's name must be embossed on the front of the card.
You ignored the rules and tried to rent a car using someone else’s card. Their staff found the fraudulent attempt and they cancelled your rental.
Q: What can I do if I do not have a credit or debit card in my name?
A: Cash Rentals are accepted with a Cash Deposit ID Card. Applications for a Cash Deposit ID Card are available from your local Hertz Office. Applicant must be 18 years or older and the application process takes approximately 30 days. There is a $15USD nonrefundable processing fee. A Hertz Cash deposit ID Card may be used at a Hertz Location.

let my experience give you the assurance needed to shop elsewhere for your car rental
In August 2009 my family made reservations online for a small SUV. The night before we were to bring it back the car started running very rough and would max at 15 mph at best. We contacted their roadside assistance department they claimed that if the car was “running” they would do nothing to help. The next day we limped back to the airport, barely made it with 20 minutes before we missed our plane.
Hertz charged us for an extra day, since we were late due to their car problems. Next they charged us for the GPS, which we did not use, but could not prove. We repeatedly called Hertz after receiving the fraudulent bill finally they said they would remove the charge. Yet, a month later, the fraudulent charges had not been removed. Finally, I contacted my credit card company and reported the fraudulent charges and they immediately removed the $167.00 overcharge.
Now three months later, December 2009, Hertz has tried to charge my credit card each month (hoping I would not catch the fraudulent charge), and I have had to call the dispute dept. with my credit card and have it removed three times. This last month, I canceled the card to eliminate any further charges and hassle.
Then, yesterday, I started to receive harassing phone calls from an automated collection agency saying that Hertz wants more money. I refuse to be stranded, over-charged, and now harassed by this company without a fight! This company has compromised their ethical standards. I only wish I had found the hundreds of complaints on the Internet about this company before I made the reservation. Let my experience give you the assurance needed to shop elsewhere for your car rental.
I also got a rental at one of the crappiest Hertz locations ever becasue my car was in the shop. I was offered a car with low tire pressure and told to drive home and come back the following morining. I did, and I was late to take pictures that Saturday moring, but they did swith the car for me, but the car wasn' t clean. It drove really well. Needless to say I allowed someone to drive it and they got a ticket. Hertz could not supply a copy of the violation, the site just said submitted electronically but, they expect you to pay an administration fee for what? TO print the alleged violation on paper and mail it. How can you expect anyone to pay something if you cannot provide proof of the alleged expense. I later found out the violation was vaild, but I had to do all the legwork to get the support. Pay an administration Fee for no adminstration services besides printing and postage. Hertz needs to do better.
damage charge
Reference # [protected]: Upon returning our car to airport in Madrid we were told there was damage for which we must pay. We indicated both in person and in writing "Addendum and Statement of Vehicle condition" that we do not know how the scratches occurred on the front passenger side bumper nor were we aware of any other damages anywhere on the vehicle. We also saw them and documented them as normal "wear and tear". Neither the clerk nor the person who reported the damages would discuss the issue nor refer us to someone who could assist. English language comprehension was difficult and we were told we needed to pay in order to leave. Additionally, although we were returning the vehicle a day early and had been told upon pick up that we would be credited, we are not certain of the evidence of that credit. We are disputing the damage charges and the additional day charges. We agreed to the additional driver charge and the vehicle upgrade (as the regular daily rate had been paid via Capital One Rewards) for the dates of February 20-24. Thank you for your prompt assistance in this matter.

damage ripoff
Rented a car at VIE for a few days and dropped it off early morning before the counter re-opened. A couple of weeks after the rental, I got a letter in the mail with a 1000 euro bill for a 150 euro rental. The reason? A scratch on a front hubcap and some supposed "scratches" on the rear bumper cover. The hubcap scratch was undocumented (but I did bump a curb one time while parking, so it's possible that there was a ding that I didn't notice... they charged me 20 euros for the hubcap... whatever... no big deal and just not worth complaining about - it's Austria, land of nickel-and-diming). My big complaint is the 730 euros they billed me for repainting the back bumper. The "documentation" they sent me shows a reflection of the guy taking pictures and a bunch of stick-on arrows pointing to "scratches" on the top of the bumper cover. If you look really hard, there's what looks like a scuff mark (maybe someone in my party pulled a suitcase out of the hatchback and it rubbed over the paint? Maybe someone walked by in the parking lot and tied a shoe using the bumper as a footstool after I dropped the car off?) that could likely have been removed with cleaner wax. Instead, they chose to get a body shop quote and bill me for a repaint. If I'd noticed, I'd probably have gotten some wax and rubbed it on the bumper to make the "scratches" disappear... it is, after all Austria... there's a fill mark on drink glasses, and restaurant minimum napkin size and absorbency is legislated for a reason. (I'm Austrian, not just a whiny tourist)
Bottom line: see for yourself if you think this is worth 700+ euros without a hint of documentation that any work was even done on the car?! (note that the big dark thing in the middle of the photos is the guy with the camera... not what they're actually photographing). Judge for yourself, then decide whether or not you want to give these people your business.
I was an exclusive Hertz renter for roughly 15 years and have rented from Hertz AT before... I have one word for them now: Goodbye! Avis, I'm back... Sixt, I'm coming...

When returning the car I have experienced a similar claim for a damage to 2 wheel trims. I refused to accept it and have seen the car again with the manager. I was then told that everything is ok and I do not have to pay anything. Two weeks after I have received an invoice with a DAMAGE 50 euro(+tax). I am claiming a refund. Do not trust this group of crooks ! Take pictures and do not leave the office without signed final invoice. Paul (Australia).
wrong identity
For some reason, we have been linked to a Hertz car rental out of the LA Airport. For some reason, someone told the Napa Police department that we rented a car at the LA location in November 2010 and then this car ran a red light in Napa. My daughter and I did not rent this car from Hertz in November. This is a hardship that Hertz told the Napa police that it was us. People should not rent from Hertz. I have asked them to send me a letter that we were not involved in this incident and they won't. Why did Hertz do this? Hertz told my daughter that I was the one that rented the car. I didn't. Could someone from [protected]@atsol.com or by phone at [protected] why they gave my address to the Napa Police department? How did they get my address? Am I barking up the wrong tree. Why won't Hertz resolve this. Lesson to be learned is don't rent from Hertz especially when they give out your address to the Napa Police!
Thanks for you comment, the problem is they now say I didn't rent the car. I know that. I need proof from Hertz that I didn't rent this car. Do you have any suggestions Brenda or any one else? I have a feeling that others have been taken by Hertz steeling their identity and giving it to other police departments. Napa Police told me that Hertz identified me as the person that rented this car, I didnt! It is scarey to think that this could happen to anyone. Hertz is so big, any suggestions on how to get them to fess up to what they did and mail me the documentation of why they sent my drivers license info to the Napa police? I think they stole my ID last time I rented from them so beware!
I had a similar case like yours with Dollar rental car where someone rented a car from Oakland airport rental station and returned at Sacramento. It was one way rental charge and three days of fee equal to $350 which was billed to my Amex card. It took me over a year to straighten this mess out. To make a long story short, what happened was someone with the same last name as I am reserved a car using Dollar frequent profile but instead of pulling his profile, Dollar employee pulled my profile and printed contract under my name which he signed. When the car was checked out, the security check should have caught it but with the same last name, they did not and he was drive rental car under my name for three days. Fortunately, he did not get any traffic violation or speed camera when he was driving. He did however evade bridge toll which I received six months later from collection's department for $39 bridge fee plus late fee and some other charges. I had to work with the collection's agency and told them I am FastTrak account holder so they will get off my back and had to work with FastTrak to settle my bill. In the end, I ended up paying $4.00 dollars which I gladly pay to close this case. For the rental car, I ended up using Amex as my shield and fought Dollar collection's department (I did not pay Amex and Amex ended up not paying Dollar so it went to Dollar collection's department) using three way conference call for several times. The Dollar collections department traced frequent renter profile and found the real renter who rented the car but not sure if they were able to collect the money. Once the case was solved, I closed Dollar frequent renter program and removed credit card from personal profile. It will take some time to solve your problem but don't give up fighting. I don’t rent from Dollar anymore in spite of apology letter from them because when I called and wrote to them, they simply would not listen what I had to say.
mafia service
I had an minor accident - tail light. Insurance paid for damages - Herts still collected Adm fees and others for $200 after getting $450 in damages. Thieves!
They were not willing to give Fleet utilization log to the insurance company which was willing to pay the fees provided Hertz could prove the log to prove that they lost revenue due to the damage and had no other cars to rent.
This is standard trick and Hertz is top of List of Mafia companies. Never Hertz again
rude comment from branch manager
My colleague got into a car accident today and he needed a rent car to get around so I gave him a ride to a local Hertz rental car (Fremont location) where we waited over thirty minutes to rent a car. This rental was setup by his insurance company so we can’t go elsewhere. There was three rental staff working at the counter but with each rental where they are trying to scare folks and ask customer to buy their insurance package of $26.99 where each consumer is confused and skeptical about. Once that is over, they go pickup a car and run it through car wash so each customer has to wait good ten minutes. Finally, our turn comes up and told reservation number but the agent says he is out of cars. He then asks whether we have a ride to another Hertz location not far from his. He says that location will give SUV for the price of midsize car free of charge since we have to drive to pick it up. So we get there and a woman at the counter tries to give my colleague a subcompact car so I object and ask her to call the other Hertz rental to verify our claim that we are supposed to receive a SUV. She calls and tells the other Hertz store that she cannot give SUV with rental rate from insurance ($30 per day) and hangs up. She then says with $30 per day, she cannot give SUV without an extra charge so we need to take subcompact car. So I asked her that what we are entitled with $30 per day since it has to be better than a subcompact that she is trying to give it to my friend. All this is going on; the manager comes from the office throwing a key onto a counter and says "give them Camry. They are making too much noise" and walks away. The way he said it and tossed the key made me angry so I asked him for his business card but he said he ran out (total B.S). He was so rude and unprofessional that I wanted throw the key back to him and give him "the bird" but it wasn't my rental car so I couldn't. I asked the counter lady to write his name down since he would not give his business card. She writes only his first name and hand it over to me so I told her to write his last name as well. Dao Nguyen is the name of Hertz local edition branch manager. What a pr!#$
I would not rent another car from Hertz ever again. I have Hertz Gold Edition frequent rental card but they lost my business. Hertz is claiming car rental from them “a privileges”. What are bunch of jokers.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
employee goes bizerk
I am a Gold Corporate customer of Hertz for 20 years.
A Hertz employee Goes Bizerck while I am in a Hertz station returning car with another agent. Employee calls me all sorts of profanities while other employees watch.
I report incident to Hertz and am told a supervisor will call me back.
A week later and 8 calls to Hertz, NO ONE has called me back, NO ONE interested.
Employee who went insane, is still on the job.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I am not a single person filing this complaint but I am speaking for more than 20 individuals in the work place. I have been working at Hertz for 20 years now, and have been getting racist remarks, discriminated and harassed. We have already told many groups including human resources and nobody has answered our call yet. 2 specific managers named Hailey and Natasha have been discriminating us the most, things like telling them when we can go to the bathroom or when we are eating food, ridiculous things like that and I have never heard rules like this from all of my time at working at Hertz. They have fired many employees without appropriate reasons. Our bosses name is Manlove, we have told him multiple times and he has done nothing for us. Basically at this point, me and a couple of us VSA employees want to do something about this. We need someone to be sent here as soon as possible to make things right for us employees otherwise this work place isn't going to be safe for us.
