Walkbehind Mower
On September 18, I purchased a lawnmower. There is more to say about the store experience, but my words are limited.
The box they put on my cart looked like it was re-taped. I assumed it was a broken box. When I had it at home, the mower was already open. It was clean, but the machine was out of the plastic. There was no oil bottle. I realized the oil was already in the motor, which is why there were oil stains in the box and machine. Perhaps it was a floor model, but the oil should not be in a floor model.
I needed the mower that day, and I used it. It worked. Since it is used, I cannot return. I would have bought a floor model if that was all that was available. There were other boxes on the high shelves. If it was used, it should not have been sold to me at full price. Even a few dollars off would be okay with me. I should have been told it was not a new machine before my purchase.
Since I used it already, I have no proof of the condition of the machine. I did not have the time on Sunday to drive back to the store to pick up another.
It is pointless to call the store without my proof.
Mostly, I did not want to be sold a used machine and told it was new.
Next time I need something, I will go to a smaller store if I am not in a rush. I pay a little more, but I get service.
I could not find an email for Home Depot to voice this complaint. A few years ago I needed to phone customer service on the phone and waited over on hour. This one is not worth the time.

flooring
I had some one come out to measure for carpet. i then purchased carpet.Then i was told they would not install because i have an adjustable bed. With that i told them if you can't install it i would need a refund. Then i was told i would have to wait till i received the carpet then they would charge me several fees . I was never told they cant install carpet If you have an adjustable bed

Storm door
I went into Home Depot Prescott, AZ on sept 4th 2022 to order a storm door. They took 40.00 dollars for the tech to come to the house and measure the door. The Home Depot employee Richard Ludwig told me I could only order one storm door since the door size was 96 x 36. I said OK let's do it. Never heard a thing after the door was measured, I called and Home Depot told me they will have Richard call me, still no word a week later. I called again on sept 20th 2022 nothing was done on my order. I decided to go elsewhere to get a storm door, I asked for my 40.00 dollars back they said no because it was to pay for the measurement. Why should I lose out on my own money when Home Depot did not fulfill their end? I will never ever go back to Home Depot for anything in my life! How dare you take my money and not provide the service I requested!

Damaged counter top
I received an 8-foot countertop that was part of order WP [protected] that was damaged. The countertop had been dragged while in the shipping carton and wore off a corner of the Ogee edge. The Top had either been stored with no center support or was shipped with something heavy that caused the countertop to have a 2-inch bow in it as well as the back splash. The back splash Formica surface is a 1/8th inch short of covering the particle board it's bonded to. The bow in the countertop also caused a crack in the Ogee surface finish.
I believe that most of the damage was caused by the manufacturer and not the shipper and had the countertop finished side been covered with the double layer of cardboard rather than the underside the wear on the corner would not have happened.
Desired outcome: Since I can rework the back splash and the countertop and somewhat repair the crack in the Ogee edge, I believe that a credit to my account of at least half of the countertop cost for my added work would be fair.
Damage
I ordered a Frigidaire FFAD2233W10 dehumidifier on 28 Sep 21 for$177.82. It arrived with a leaking reservoir bucket. When asked to evaluate the purchase, I gave the lowest rating, but never heard from The Home Depot.
Desired outcome: An apology is appropriate.
In-store credit
I had a card with an in-store credit of $741.59 left on it but misplaced the card. I went back to the store to ask if they could issue another card and they said nothing could be done and told me to call Home Depot's 1-800 number. I purchased some moving supplies for delivery about ten days ago. They were delivered on time and to my apartment doorstep. Then, a few days later, I placed a larger order for delivery on the next day delivery - Saturday. we waited for hours and tried to contact the store to no avail. On line it showed that the order had been delivered but it was not at my apartment door nor in the apartment lobby. I called customer service and spoke to a young woman who was helpful, concerned, and worked hard to get answers as to where my order was. It was apparently delivered to the wrong address and she said she would have it delivered on Sunday. She called the store to confirm the status of the missed delivery and the set up for the new delivery. I was on hold for twenty minutes. She said she could not get the store to answer and that had never happened to her before. She assured me that she would follow up and make sure that it was delivered the next day. It was not. I tried most of Sunday afternoon to call the store directly with no one at the store answered my calls. I did get put on hold several times for 20 minutes each time. The next morning I called again and asked the person who answered to check my delivery. He said it would be delivered on Tuesday rather than Monday. I asked to speak to the store manager and was again put on hold for a total of 60 minutes. I requested a callback and did not receive one - ever. I got a call on Tuesday that the delivery had finally arrived and could I meet the driver at the truck. I told her that I work 30 miles from home so that would not be possible. I asked her to deliver the items to my apartment to which she replied that no she really couldn't. I explained that I am seventy-three and would not be able to carry the items and would she please bring them to the door. She agreed. She called back and said that they would not fit in the elevator. I assured her that they would it is a large elevator and would certainly accommodate the order. She reluctantly agreed. Once the delivery was done, she said she needed a signature. I again explained that I was 30 miles away and that she was welcome to wait till I got home. She hung up. I came home to find everything in the lobby and had to drag it to my second-floor apartment. She lied. I called the store repeatedly the next day wanting to speak to the manager. Three calls and 20 minutes on hold each time, I was told the manager was off that day. I left a message with the phone person which she wrote down asking the manager for a returned call. I left a message three days in a row with no response. I have shopped at home depots, here and in Colorado and Florida for most of my life. I have always had good experiences until this. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced and doubt I will be back - at least to the Marina Del Rey store.
Desired outcome: I don't know how you can deal with this. I finally got the merchandise, however not on the dates prior to my move. We wasted hours waiting for delivery and several hours on hold

Home Depot - 795 Fairview Road - Asheville, NC
On September 13, 2022 I had the unfortunate experience of receiving less than excellent customer service from the above Home Depot location. In fact, it was unacceptable customer service.
I rented a large power tine (rear) tiller. A tool I had never used before but was ensured by the person who initially took my reservation (who was very helpful and professional), that I would be "thoroughly checked out on the operating procedures" of such a dangerous piece of equipment.
This turned out to be false.
The individuals I encountered upon pick-up were young, rude, and did not represent the kind of "customer service" Home Depot would expect (I hope).
Their first names are Jeff and Maggie.
Maggie has a chip on her shoulder and stated to me that "no one listens to the women employees around here." I had no comment, but it sounded like a "discrimination" issue.
Jeff, who was asked to help get the rear tine tiller from outside, immediately indicated he didn't want to do it, but he did agree. When I pulled my vehicle into the position he directed, he put the trailer on my hitch, backed the tiller onto the trailer and that was it. He did not chain the trailer, attach the taillights plug, or offer any assistance to strap the expensive tool down to trailer. I was never instructed that I needed to bring my own straps. No, I had to buy them. Additionally, I would think/hope that HD employees that are "throwing" heavy power equipment on expensive trailers, that said employees would care enough to check to see if the taillights and turn signals were working properly and it was safe to drive off the premises.
When I asked Jeff if he would show me how to use the power tool, his response was "You checked a box on your contract that said you would watch the instructional video." I should watch the video. After I got the tool home, I looked on the website and there was no video. I wasn't even told what website to visit. Absurd. Dangerous. Rude.
Sickening customer service; absolutely unacceptable.
I went to complain to the store manager, Pete, who got me some straps and instructed Maggie (apparently a rental supervisor) to "make this right". She did not. I was handed the straps, told to go strap it down myself, and someone (Jeff) would come out to see if everything looked secure.
No one came out to check anything or assist me in any way.
This is unacceptable. And this isn't the only time I have had issues with customer service at this Home Depot location. Once, one young man in plumbing, who was sweeping the aisle, when I have several fittings I needed to purchase told me: "Sir, I cannot be your personal assistant." He refused to help me find the fittings, amongst a sea of fittings, in his department. There were no other customers and it was one hour before closing.
I informed the manager on duty and her response was "If I say something, he'll just quit."
Not my problem.
The last thing I would like to mention is this, I have been a customer of Home Depot's for decades and have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars with this business. Most of the employee interactions have been favorable and I have never had to file a complaint.
This time, it was necessary.
Desired outcome: Inform said employees that a complaint has been filed.

A bald white man with glasses was being extremely unprofessional and disrespectful to my family and I today (September 15, 2022). My husband asked for help regarding the stock of paint and was met with an attitude. When we decided to ask another employee for help, the rude employee cut in and threw out more snarky and rude remarks while rolling his eyes. I have the right to assume this was out of prejudice as my family does not speak the best english. This is unacceptable as so many minorities go to this Home Depot. Employees should no better.
Desired outcome: This man was very unprofessional, degrading, and I hope to see this issue dealt with, as I am sure this is not the first time this has happened. This should either be met with termination or a warning.
China products
Due to all the human rights abuses in China, Home Depot should stop purchasing products made in China. I understand that the products manufactured in China are much cheaper and the savings is passed along to the consumer, but these human rights must stop and Home Depot should not be contributing to the abuses, such as child labor. Home Depot would not be alone as many companies have sold out to China. Consumers like to buy products made in the USA. And if not in the USA, then products produced in another nation that does not have human rights abuses. Thank you
Arcade Machine
Purchase 09/02/2022 Arcade Machine online they said 09/18/2022 No stool and no riser as advertised. Was forced to deal with people that would rather sit at home on food stamps and welfare two days over 5 calls over 4 1/2 hours. I ordered so I would not have to drive to a store and the store does not even stock. Why would I want to pick up load a big box in my back seat because won't fit in trunk then unload it again to bring up to my condo. You pay $450.00 to be ripped off because of incompetent and not intelligent people running a multimillion company. I can guarantee they will never get one penny from me ever that is a promise
Internet order
Ordered two patio chair covers from Home Depot. Shipment came in a large box, but contained only one cover. Phone calls to Home Depot "Customer Care" failed to resolve the issue. HD would NOT ship the missing item, and suggested I dispute the charge with my bank. This for a customer who regularly spends substantial amounts at Home Depot, including a $1700 refrigerator just last month. The item in question cost less than $30. HD spent more than that in not accepting responsibility for a missing item. I hate being driven away from a store I like, but that's what happened.

I bought a very expensive tool from Home Depot in auburn ca today. It's a Ryobi impact torque wrench. . My complaint has nothing to do with the product cuz I just bought today. But I am concerned about is the fact that I purchased a $279 product and the receipt I was given is already illegible if I would have to return this product God forbid I wouldn't be able to because the original receipt that I was at time of purchase less than 12 hours ago is already no good. It is illegible. I don't know if it's the quality paper that you printed the receipt on or if it's the ink itself either way it's your poor quality that's going to affect me negatively. I can't even read the numbers on the receipt. I will anticipate having to take this product back but what if I did wouldn't even let me. How fair to the consumer is that? I purchased cash 3 pre-assembled kitchen cabinets that totaled $631.00 about 3 weeks ago and it happens that my contractor wanted the assembled cabinets, somewhere I missed placed or threw away my receipt.
I took the cabinets and they refused to give me a refund, so I asked for store credit and that was also denied.
I spend thousands of dollars at Home Depot doing remodels to the rental homes that we own.

In January 2022 I ordered cabinets, vanities and flooring from Home Depot and was told that order would be fulfilled in May 2022. To date I have a house full of damaged cabinets taking up over two rooms in the house. Home Depot has given me excuse after excuse. An installer came and installed the 2 bathoom vanities bottoms but both are damaged. I have called Home Depot multiple times with no resolution. Purchased online a dishwasher and paid for July 7th. It is now Sept 3rd no dishwasher installed. First install date unit arrived damaged. Second install date unit again arrived damaged. Then unit was on back order. Third install unit was delivered, and delivery crew said they had no info that they were installing. This is after talking to Home Depot to make sure everything was in place not to have any issues. Told me everything was in place and showed parts kit etc... And still had issues. Let's see fourth attempt confirmed everything is in place again. Home Depot needs to re-evaluate the delivery company they use.
