Safety NY state inspection
I called the local Ossining NY store on June 14th at around 2PM.
I spoke with Dan who set up an appointment for me to come in on June 15th at 1PM. I asked him how long would it take so I could make arrangements to drop off my car if necessary as 1pm is my lunch hour to which he reply this was just a safety inspection (brand new 2022 BMW) and it will only take 10 to 15 min.
I showed up to my appointment at 1PM and I was told by Dany I had to wait about 30 to 40 min for my car to go in and then 10 to 15 min for the inspection to be completed.
I explained to him I had made an appointment for that reason so I didn't have to wait but he insisted that there was Noone available.
I asked to speak to a manager but Dany stated the manager was not available and to wait 10 min for him. I had to leave to try to get my inspection done somewhere else so I asked for his manager's info but he kept talking and telling me I had to wait for him. I walked away as I was trying to get it done the same day and he followed me to my vehicle. I asked him to step away from my car and left.
At 1:55pm I received a call from a male who introduced himself as the manager and wanted to know what I was there for I advise him I was in the process of following this complaint and I had already done my inspection at a different place.
Messed up my car
I went in for a quote they took my tires off broke my hubs didn't put my lug nuts back on so my tire fell off put one tire back on with the hub broken and on top of the tire gauge!tries to charge me for a estimate!so now my hubs are broken tire is flat rim is bent and roter is cut
This is both a complaint and a tremendous thank you to two of your stores.
My name is Tracy 'Tegan' Huebner and I recently went to store 0801 located at 1798 North Hercules in Clearwater, Fl, 33765. I spoke with Dwayne who was very friendly and professional about getting two new tires. I purchased them on 4/3/22 and at that time I also inquired about getting my 130,000 mile maintenance done on the car and requested my plugs be changed, radiator flushed, oil change, rotate and balance my tires and the brake pads be replaced. Mark indicated to me that my cv joints needed replacing as well. After the work was performed the mechanic and manager Mark indicated to me that my cv joints would need replacing. I said ok and on 4/23/22 they did all the work for my 130,000 along with replacing the cv joints. When I got my car back I noticed that when turning the steering wheel it was making a very odd noise. When I went back to the garage another mechanic took a look and told me now that struts needed replacing. I was not happy as they were fine when I took it in as this was a completely new noise. They were adamant that now the struts needed replacing. I agreed to have them fixed and another assistant manager did the job, it was not Mark.
This time when I got the car back it was making yet another loud knocking sound when I went over poorly roads so loud I was very nervous driving the vehicle. Be patient I am getting to the good part where someone actually took the time to help me. The struts were done on 5/7/22.
This time I returned now the 4th time and indicated there was a tremedous knocking sound and first Dwayne and then Mark went on a test drive with me.
Mark indicated almost immediately that my left strut was bad and needed replacing as he was unaware the week before I had just had them done.
When we returned to the garage and I told him that you all had just done both struts he said well let me tighted up the nuts on the top of the struts and that should fix the problem. After watching him try to tighten them I noticed that they all were good. He told me to drive the car for a while and see if this fixed the problem and of course it did not. I went back a fifth time and they told me there was something that needed to be tightened down and the problem was fixed. The car was not fixed and I went back again. I insisted that I have had my car for seven years and it never made this noise before. They did not seem to care and told me that the car is just getting older and will make different sounds when things are fixed.
Later I was sharing this with my neighbor John Braun who has been dealing with store 814 on Missouri in Clearwater and set me up an appointment to go see the very professional Manager Timur. This guy told me to not write you all and that he would make it right. After a day he called me and asked me to come and take a test drive. The problem was still there so he told me they would take off the stutt stabalizing end links to see if the noise continued and it did. So Logan at the shop went over the struts and found that a strut mount bolt was very loose and tightning it FIXED THE PROBLEM.
I am thrilled and very thankful that both Timur and Logan took the time away from doing work on paying customers to help me finally get my car fixed properly and thought you should know that at this particular store #814 your guys go out of their way to make sure things are done right. I will continue to go to this store for all of my mechanical needs. Some of your guys really care about the company and I wanted to make sure you know!
Desired outcome: I would like for both the manager Timur and Logan from store 814 be recognized for the hard work and patience they showed me and for caring so much about the Mavis Tire reputation.
Windshield cracked
I recently went to store number 825 and An employee was changing my windshield blades and I asked them to check my fluid line. Once finding out I had tears in my line they proceeded to cut my line and replace it with a make shift hose and while they were doing that one of your employees was leaning on my hood I let him know that I had a stick to hold the...

I’m Ugochukwu John, Eze [protected]). I came over to do the alignment on my car on Saturday May 28th, 2022…. Because I replaced my axles and front struts on my 2003 Honda Odyssey exl. They did the alignment under 34 minutes but alignment takes about an hour and half to do on a car to avoid mistakes but they decided to do it for less because they were rushing to go home. I came back on Tuesday to get the adjustments done in order to avoid any damages because the left driver’s tie rods were too tight and heard some knocking sound every time I turn the steering (that sound never existed on the car) but was told to come back today at 9am but arrived at 8:30 am and gave up my keys at 8:42 am for them to adjust it. An hour afterwards, the technician came running but seems scared based off his reaction like he broke something while trying to adjust it and stated “your steering rack is licking on the driver side”…. I told him to try adjusting the tie rods that I need to head home to rest and he said okay. After he was done with the adjustment of the alignment, he went for a test drive for about 5 minutes and came back driving crazy trying to hide that the had damaged the rack completely but was shocked to see me waiting outside for my car. He drove the car back into the garage, jacked it up and I saw my power steering fluid leaking so bad after he did a test drive because before I gave them the car on Saturday, my steering rack was in perfect condition 4.5/5 now it’s a 1/5 just from doing alignments. Other customers came complaining that they did that to them 2 weeks ago and came back to them to fix with but was told to pay for it. I’m hereby requesting that my steering rack should be fixed and alignment done but I’m not paying for their damages….. I came with an excellent steering rack and leaving with a broken one….. not fair at all.
I’m getting 3 different alignment reports, looks like they don’t know the specifications for the alignment of the car….. this is terrible.
Desired outcome: $2000 or a new car
Lug nuts
My last set of tires were rotated approximately every 10K miles. When I finally went to replace them, I went Mavis on Winchester in Huntsville, AL. Austin was very pleasant and helpful. After getting the tires he suggested rotating them every 7K miles. I took my truck to the new Mavis in Meridianville. I had an appointment and I was curious as to why it was taking so long for an oil change and tire rotation. The technician there said that all of my lug-nuts were swollen and the socket had to be hammered on. I know that they didn’t swell from water and I have Never had any issues about my lug-nuts or tire rotation in the past. I didn’t watch the tire tech at Winchester put my tires on. But mathematically that is the only explanation for 24 swollen lug-nuts. I have purchased 24 new lug-nuts and will go to Meridianville Mavis. I don’t anticipate being reimbursed. But I would genuinely appreciate a response with some form of communication.
Thank you.

Desired outcome: Open communication
Oil change that messed up my skid plate
I went to a Mobile, AL location and got an oil change. Left only to get a mile or so down the road and my skid plate fell off my car. I took it and returned to the location and the employee at the front desk blew me off and said "it's just a skid plate". They took my car back in the garage and in stead fixing it properly they zip tied my skid plate to the undercarriage of my car. Less than a week later my skid plate is back off my car and I have not protection for the under carriage of my car. I'm very dissatisfied with the service I received.
Desired outcome: I feel like Mavis should pay to fix my car correctly.
New tire
I purchased a new tire two days ago and that same evening it started running out of air. I returned the tire today (couldn’t yesterday because I was working from the office), had to remove the tire from a vehicle and bring it into the shop. I have waited more than two hours now ( entered at 10:10am and it is now 12:14 pm and still waiting ) for them to check a single tire that was purchased from them here. Just one tire. This has been a terrible experience. I never submit complaints but have no other choice to do so now. They are saying that that tire is prone to losing air and I told them that this is an unacceptable answer. That this company would not sell tires that are prone to losing air pressure.
The location is Atlanta Georgia on Johnsons Ferry Road. Please help.
Desired outcome: Replace the new tire with another new tire and reimburse the price of said tire initially purchased.
Unsafe work performed that could cost someone their life
I had a tire replaced on the rear driver side of my Kia, the kids and I were on our way to an outing and decided to take the interstate, got up to 70mph, not two miles of me being on the interstate all of a sudden my car started to shake violently, and make some thumping noise. I pulled over to see that a Lug Stem and Nut were gone it had broke off, then...
Read full review of Mavis Discount TireRotor, brake pads, caliber service
On 9/1/21 my car was serviced at a mavis in McDongh, Ga where I evacuated from New Orleans during hurricane Ida rotor, brake pads were supposedly changed. Well on 5/7/22 heard screeching noise from wheel so car was brought to Mavis in Gonzales, La where I was notified not only was the rotor back but also need calibers now cause they were bad first I was told I didn't have a warranty, then I 1was told I'd have to pay 783.00 to correct problem. So a appointment was set for 5/13/22 to bring in at 2:00pm which had me paying 3 labor fees for rotors, brake pads, and calbers. After some calls price was brought down but now come 3:45 pm have wrong calibers take in mind I'm driving down from New Orleans, gas is high, and I called before coming to see if everything was in. Now I was told come in the next day for an appointment at 3:00pm. Next day arrives get a call earlybsame part came early can we come early ni o problem. On the drive up get a call again asking am I still coming answer yes was asked could I reschedule for another day because mechanic is backed up and he'll be leaving at 3:00pm but store doesn't close till 5:00pm and the gave me an original appointment of 3:00 pm the prior day and day of told me to come early cause part was in early. So then I was told I can pick up my parts and go to another location to have then put on.
Desired outcome: Shouldn't have been transporting my own parts or receiving service from another store when I was communicating with another. When do we start charging labor for every part. And talked to to many people.
Mavis All Season HT-S 255 65 18
I purchased 4 Mavis All Season HT-S (Hankook) - 60k mile tires, balance package, warranty, wheel alignment, oil change on 12/08/2020 from your Denham Springs LA branch, I have returned each time for tire rotation and an oil change at two of your locations, Denham Springs LA on Range Ave and the Baton Rouge branch on Highland Rd.
Now 1year and 5 months have passed and only 34k miles on these tires I see thread showing on my front passenger side and wear on the others, I spotted this by chance after my granddaughter dropped a ball and it rolled under my car. I need someone to address this issue and I can't seem to get your Denham Springs LA branch district manager Mr. Rob (sorry I don't have his last name) to assist in this matter the way he should.
He has stated it is because I haven't had a wheel alignment in over a year, the question I have is why has no one said "there seems to be a wearing problem with these tires and we may need to look back on the alignment we did". No one from Mavis has ever said there seems to be a wearing problem, which leaves me to believe that could be because they haven't rotated the tires as they have stated they have, otherwise this would have been noticed.
I am not the only one having an issue with these Hankook tires wearing at an unsatisfactory rate, there are plenty of complaints.
Mavis has the power to satisfy their customers and has chosen not too. As a person that has worked in retail and the tire business there is protocol with returns to the manufacturer and warranties.
Desired outcome: I prefer a refund of $1011.85, for inconvenience and uncaring Mavis has for their customer. I have an appointment with a tire company tomorrow May 16,22, that alone is leaving me unable to be at work and costing me more money.
Oil change
I was over my oil change mileage and was aware, I went to get my oil changed and when I got my car back my engine started making a very loud clicking noise and started losing power after 40 minutes of getting it back and the oil gauge was still popping up on the dash still. My car was not doing this prior to the oil change. I had called them explaining my...
Read full review of Mavis Discount TireTire replacement
In june of 2021, I bought 4 tires from mavis. Mavis' traction control by hankook on the advice of my mechanic in new jersey. In october, I got a flat and brought the car in. They said, to my face, "we replaced the tire". In march, I brought the car in for a check up because I was traveling and one of your men (they are never the same anytime I come back) said "the passenger tire is low, you should have that checked". By whom? You put the tires on idiot! So now it's may, and I am back again with a slow leak. Your man says the tire was "plugged" not patched like tire places do, and not replaced like I was told. So your man said "we will look at it". They look at it, it's hanging out the tire, and they give me a low grade piece of crap all season highway tour tire. They don't tell me it's not the same so now I have one tire that is a lower grade and does not match. This is just a courtesy. I am on my way to the bbb and I now I have a lawyer service courtesy of my job that I do not pay for and I will see if I can sue for endangering my life.
Desired outcome: I want a new tire, a Mavis Traction Control Hankook tire Credit back for my $40.00. You eat the entire bill for 1. Not patching the tire 2. For lying and saying you replaced it and 3. For putting a lower grade tire on without my consent.
Customer service
I came to Mavis to purchase a tire I ended up getting two I also ended up not being able to go to work because my car was ready and the cashier name t e s e can I check to see if my keys were brought in and nor did he know if they had brought the key in or the car was ready there was no apology all I got was an excuse about other things that the cashier had to do to add insult to injury I doubt the 800 number at the top of my receipt that says call this number if you are not 100% satisfied and the representative placed me on hold and then forwarded me to a voicemail I guess this company doesn't have rules and don't care who they leave in a customer service position I will never return and I will tell anybody that I know not to come to Mavis
Desired outcome: I would like for a supervisor only so call me at 9:[protected] or email [protected]@gmail.com Lawrence andrews
alignment & tire mounting to the rim
I came to the store to have my alignment done and brand new tires put on and all but one of my tires has strange ware on the tred in the rear witch is the result of over inflation witch the store did and or the alignment was done incorrectly I came into the store to have it fixed and they all acted as if it wasn't a problem at all insisting that there is no way they could have botched a job as a customer i feel very disrespected to have spent money there to be treated like this and demand its taken care of immediately!
Desired outcome: i would like my tire to be replaced and my alignment done properly by a actual trained professional!!!!!!!
4/22/2022
I went there to get alignment done on my car, 10 minutes after they had my car, they inform me that my car was very unsafe and dangers to drive cause my struts are very bad and they didn’t to be replace and they can’t do my alignment until I buy the struts and buy 4 new tires and then they can replace it, I wasn’t not happy with that so I call my kia auto and they said bring it here and they found nothing wrong with them but they did found one thing wrong was my brake pads are bad and I needed rotors that they didn’t tell me. So i’m reported this to better business bureau cause I feel like they took advantage of me being a woman and using a scare tactic on me. It was the washington nj on 31 n! I will never go back ever

Bullied into taking extra services
I took my car for it's routine inspection at my local car dealer as I do each year. This year, they said I needed to get new tires. They quoted $595 for 4 tires. I thought I could find them elsewhere for a cheaper price, so I declined and, instead, started looking online for better prices. I came across the Mavis Discount Tire website, and saw that they had a store in Lebanon, PA. I found Goodyear Assurance All Season tires that were cheaper than I was quoted at my local dealer ($495.96 for all 4 with a $40 rebate). I made an appointment for 1:00PM the next day, 4/14/22.
When I got there at 12:55PM, I was told it would be just a few minutes, and that since I was putting 4 new tires on my car, I would also need to have the alignment checked. They said it wasn't safe to drive away without checking it. Not knowing a whole lot about cars, I said ok, and had them do it, not knowing it was another $99. I sat in the waiting area, thinking it was dragging on for a long time. Each time I looked out the window, I saw my car on the lift, so I assumed that this it how long it takes to put on 4 tires.
An hour and a half later (2:30PM), one of the workers comes into the waiting area and states that my rear brakes needed to be replaced. They said that a car needs to have a score of 2 in order to pass inspection, and that they shouldn't let me leave the store without replacing them. I had just had the car inspected the day before, and nothing was said about bad brakes, or needing anything replaced. I told the worker this, and told them that they should not replace the brakes. They became combative and said I was going to be a danger on the road because the inner pads were almost gone. I again reminded them that I had just had an inspection, to which they replied, "Well, maybe they just checked the outer pads. The inner ones are almost completely gone!" I again said no to replacing the brakes, and the worker huffed back into the shop. I called my local car dealer right away, and explained the situation to them. They assured me that they didn't see anything like that, and asked me to bring the car back in to double check and make sure they didn't miss anything. Within 5 minutes, I was scheduled to go back in to the dealer the next morning.
When the car was finally finished over 2 hours later (3:04PM), the receipt they gave me listed "Customer States Check Brakes" and "Customer States Check Shocks." I did not ask for either of these things, since the car was inspected the day before. The item after that listed "Recommend Rear Brakes - LR Inner Pad Almost Gone - $485+tax - Customer Declined Repairs." When all was said and done, the quoted price I had gotten on the website when I made the appointment went from $535.96 to $727.57. At that point, I just wanted to get out of there. I had an appointment that I was close to being late for, and I'd had enough of people trying to bully into services I didn't need.
The next day, I took the car back to the local dealer and they checked everything out. They had me walk into the garage with them while the car was on the lift and showed me everything Mavis said was wrong. Everything was fine, and I was told that my brakes should last me until at least next year, if not longer. They also said that there was absolutely no reason for me to get an alignment just because I got new tires, and that I should not have even been presented that option when getting new tires. They said it's not something that is a standard for tire replacement, and it was obvious they were just fishing for more sales. It's bad enough that I spent extra money on an alignment that I didn't need, but if I had said yes to replacing the brakes unnecessarily, my trip to Mavis would have been well over $1000. Never again will I shop at Mavis Discount Tire. They have lost a customer for life.
Desired outcome: I would like an apology for the bullying techniques used while I was at Mavis. A refund for the alignment would be nice, but I seriously doubt that's going to happen.
Mavis tire Norcross GA steals from customers
I had a slow leak in one of my tires so I went in to get it checked. I was told that they could not repair it so I purchased 2 new tires. As I drove off the TPMS light came on in the car. I turned around and told Scott the guy behind the counter the problem. Scott asked me.to pull into the bay and he proceeded to check the tire pressure on each tire. That...

There is no possible way these guys are averaging 5 stars. They have to be picking and choosing what posts go up.. Got there and in 20 minutes they had my vehicle in the garage.. 3 hours later they had finally completed putting 4 tires on! Thats it, 4 tires. 3 hours! In observing them after about 2 hours I found out why it took so long.. they were busy...
