Store #2282 Leesburg VA. July 20,2022, @6:50pm. I want register a complaint against the store manager(female), and assistant(female dark skin). These are the events: 1)I sent one email with 3 attachments to store #2282, Subject Line-Allan. When I arrived 6:50pm to have attachment printed, the store manager attempted to assist me. It took about 3-4 minutes before they began to print several sheets of paper. The store manager went to the pay station and started to enter payment. I asked may I see the documents first. Store manager handed me the papers. I inspected them, and informed manager some of these papers are not mine. The store manager insisted "YES" they are yours. Again, I informed her kindly, "NO" these documents do not belong to me. Store manager again insisted, "YES, they are come over here and look". I walked around the counter to see her monitor to verify her insistence, when she stated, "Get out of here you are not allowed back here." I said, you asked me to inspect your monitor, as I left the area. I asked her to turn the monitor so I could see. She did NOT, and took about another 2-3 minutes doing something on the screen. Finally, she printed several more documents which she handed to me. I verified that they were correct. I went to the pay station with my wife who accompanied me. My wife asked why are we being charged for color copies, when we did not request. At this point the manager’s assistant interjected, "that is what we charge for color". My wife repeated, to the store manager, we didn't request color. The assistant once again interjected, My wife asked the assistant to please stop interfering with her transaction with the store manager. At this point the store manager also stated, we charge for color, even though multiple times she heard my wife state, we did not request. At this point the assistant was heard by my wife making rude comments about me. My wife asked the assistant why are you doing this, at which point the assistant just laughed. My wife asked why are you laughing, what is so funny, I was talking to your manager not you. Still the assistant kept laughing at my wife. The store manager did NOTHING to take her assistant to the side, to remove her from the situation. In fact, the store manager at the conclusion my transaction didn't even offer an apology. If this is how Office Depot trains its Store Managers, then it is POOR customer relations. I would NOT allow this to be swept under the rug, and ignored. They BOTH need to be spoken to about their behavior and customer relations.
Desired outcome: Disciplinary action

Ink cartridge recycling
21 July 2022
I feel cheated. I felt like I did my due diligence when I researched the best place to recycle my cartridges. I had a printer purchase I needed to make anyway so OD seemed like a good way to go. I returned a total of 26 cartridges which I expected to create a $52 reward. I thought the cost of the printer would cover the $10 purchase requirement...I guess the program is way more complicated that I thought.
I am a disabled veteran and really needed that discount on my purchase.

Desired outcome: I either want my 26 cartridges back or a $52 credit. And it would be nice if you revamped the program to make it simpler
Return of a laptop and manager
EXPLANATION OF EVENTS JULY 20, 2022 On May 16, 2022, I purchased a Lenovo Ideapad 3 (17”) from Office Depot, Springfield, IL. This machine ended up having all kinds of problems. I returned it to Office Depot on May 25, 2022. They did not have another one so I decided on an HP 22” All-In-One. It was the last one and the box had been re-taped. The salesman...

I was shopping for Office/ Gaming chairs with my 14 year old son. We went to the back of the store and was kindly greeted by a female employee. She assisted us with pricing for a few minutes and left us to shop. A few minutes later we were approached by a make employee. He asked me if we needed assistance. I told him we were already helped. He then told me...

I ordered a chair through the website. It arrived and staff put it together. Upon returning to the office and viewing the chair, a couple of problems were obvious: first, the chair was supposed to be white and it is cream; second, it is crooked. Upon asking staff for the box it was delivered in, they advised that they had inadvertently thrown the box out. Last Wednesday, I called the local Office Depot at Bristol, VA (located 1hr 45min from here) to see about returning the chair and was upfront about not having the box it arrived in. After speaking with a couple of different ladies, they advised me to go ahead and bring the chair back to the store, with the email confirmation and there would be no problem to return it. Unfortunately, I did not write the ladies' names down. On Friday afternoon I drove to the Bristol store and was promptly told they would not accept the return as I did not have the box. I would have never made the almost 2 hour drive had I not been assured they would accept the chair back.
I am attaching photos of the chair purchased from Office Depot against the office desk and beside another white chair in the office for comparison. It is most definitely not white.
Desired outcome: I want to return the chair and get a refund. It is not white as pictured on the website, it is crooked, and will not coordinate with the furniture for the office.

Item #9476773
This item was listed for $200 bucks, by the time i was about to check out the prices increased to 549.99. When i contacted customers service i was told it was a technical issue that caused the price to go down that low when the it department was updating something. The site shows 31 people bought the same item in the last 24 hrs because of that cheaper price and i was told they can't honor the price for me. Thats false advertising which is bad business and very misleading. If the IT department made a mistake that's not my fault.
Desired outcome: Id like to given the price it was supposed to be

I purchased a fax machine at the store, and it was not working properly.
My family and I have been customer of Office Depot for many years. On July 05, 2022 at around 4:45 pm I had a bad experience at the store on Harmony Rd. in
Fort Collins.
When I entered in the Store an older gentleman was there, I asked him for help
regarding a fax machine that I purchased, he immediately call an other person, I explained to this person the problem that I came for help, he was very unfrienly, he keeps saying "I don't know", "I don't know","I don't know." he asked him for a suggestion or advise, and he keeps saying "I don't know" he seems to be upset, then I told him that I have some documents to fax, at the time he indicated to go to some place in store, and I found a desk and a nice person willing to help, he also advised me to contact HP for an answer. He made me feel better.
The "I don't know " person was young, tall, long dark hair, and rude.
I am an old person, 85 years old, and I was hurt.
Thank you for your attention.

Customer Service
I went to the Office Depot in Mesquite, Texas at 1665 N. Town East Blvd, Market East Shopping Center, Mesquite, TX 75150 about two weeks ago to mainly order a notary stamp. I've always went to the store (not this store, the one off of Forest Lane in Dallas) to order my notary stamp and as well as my employer's stamp. I went into the store and went directly to the print desk where a young man was standing, leaning over the counter. I told him that I would like to order a notary stamp and he gave me a deep sigh as if I was interrupting his counter leaning. He said you want to order it today and I said yes. He stepped away to two other employees holding a conversation behind another desk and asked them if I would be able to get a notary stamp today, completely not understanding that I knew I would not be able to get a stamp today, that it had to be ordered. He came back and said I couldn't get one today, which I knew, then he mumbled something about it being online with another deep sigh and leaned back over the counter and pulled up the notary stamps and said 'go for it'. He was totally unwilling or unable to do the job and I left telling him that I wouldn't bother him any longer. Then I went to the cashier up front who was busy messing with her eyelashes, rang up the paper that I had and didn't even ask for my account number so I could get the reward points. Now, I'm a small business owner and I've worked retail and that customer service was ridiculous. It's an embarrassment to your company having people in your stores that act like that. I realize that they are probably in school and that these are summer jobs but let them go work at McDonald's or somewhere else and hire some adults. I've never been treated like that in an Office Depot.

order never received
ordered 2 file cabinets June 30, were to be delivered "Next Day" but did not arrive. July 5 when going online to check tracking there was no tracking information available. Called and was told by some lady it would be delivered that day. Never arrived! Called the following day, July 6 and talked with Edward who commented there was no tracking information available and he couldn't find any info. Offered to do a service request to the solution team which would take another 2 days before anyone would contact me. CANCELLED ORDER AND REQUESTED REFUND. Obviously the lady who told me it would be delivered "that day" didn't want to fool with it so she just told me anything to get me off the phone. Unfortunately I did not get her name. Thank you Edward for handling this matter so efficently, but I will NEVER ORDER FROM OFFICE DEPOT AGAIN, nor will I visit their store.
Desired outcome: requested refund

Office Depot made an unauthorized amount of $129.99 to my debit card
Office Depot Dispute [protected]
I have been trying since May 2022 to get my debit card refunded for an unauthorized charge. I sent the print screen from my bank account to Office Depot showing this charge. It was supposed to be 24 hours and I should have received the credit. It has now been 5 days. This is causing me mental anguish. Do I need to file a small claim to get my money back and an amount for the mental anguish.
[protected] Office Depot dispute
Here is the corresponded with the Office Depot Virtual Agent:
I have been trying to get a charge made to my account for almost 2 months. I will be filing a small claim for this unauthorized charge. I need the address to put on the small claims. Included will be the mental anguish to trying to resolve this with no results that I've asked about.
$129.99. The order number that was given to me was [protected]. They showed it under Cust ID: [protected].The reference number that was provided to me was [protected]. When I called to check, the person indicated there was no record. The Office Depot representative said "I have checked with the refund has been already processed for the tech subscription’s."
I asked the Office Depot representative "When will I see the refund on my debit card?" They replied "It will be credited with in 3 to 5 business days."
Desired outcome: I want the $129.99 refunded back to my debit card and for Office Depot not to go into my account and make unauthorized charges.

Crap printing/cutting job
Placed a order on 6/18 for 1000 buisness cards via online (because i needed double sided) with a deliver by date of 6/28. 6/25 checked the status as i did not receive any email for tracking. To my surprise the order was still processing. Called the store and was placed on hold for 30 mins than hung up on. Called back 6/27 and was told by the store to call customer service. Called customer service who said the label was just printed and now my new arrival date is 6/30. Hugh inconvenience as i had an event to attend that my business cards were needed. Arrive at the store on 6/30, and whole box of 1000 cards are completely cut wrong. The first 100 were fixable but the rest were a complete crap job. Now here i am without business cards and no one who cares enough to make the situation right. The in store manager refunded my money and told me to call online printing center to see what can be done on ordering new cards. Called and spoke to robert who basically blamed me regarding bleed lines. This is not my first rodeo so i made sure there were no white spacing around the borders before confirming my order. As i explained to him the error came when cutting. Even the onsite people at office depot said this was a horrible cutting job. I asked to speak to robert's manager and he refused to provide a transfer or contact info. This has been the worse experience i've ever had with office depot and when i find an email to reach corporate i will be writing them as well. They do not value their customers.

ASUS VivoBook K513EA-0874
I purchased this laptop on May 5, 2022 brand new for $649.99. I did not purchase an extended warranty, because I thought it was safe to assume that a brand new computer would work properly. About two weeks after setting up the laptop, the screen went blank and would not come on. I did a hard reset by holding down the power button for 40 seconds, and the screen came back. I didn't worry about it at that time; I just assumed it was a glitch. A few days later, it did it again. I didn't have time to focus on it at that point, because I was preparing for a very important conference at MIT in Boston. I also have Multiple Sclerosis, and I contracted Covid around May 15. The Covid lasted for weeks. Because of the MS, I had to take extra care to stay home and try to heal. My lungs are fragile, and Covid could easily turn deadly for me fast.
The last thing I needed was to worry about my BRAND NEW laptop.
Fortunately, I was healthy enough to take the trip to Boston. It was very important for my business...my livelihood. I left for Boston on June 4 and returned on June 11. After returning, I was ill again (I actually still have not healed completely). I used my new laptop a few days starting around June 20. It has been glitchy the entire time. The screen goes blank and wont come back on without a hard reset. Also, the icons on the homepage get fuzzy and large on their own. On June 29th, the laptop would not come on at all. I called Office Max, and they told me it was a warranty issue that had to be dealt with through ASUS. I called ASUS, and they told me that Office Max should be the one to give me a refund. ASUS told me to do another hard reset (losing data), and the screen came on again. They told me I could send the laptop in to them, but they will not replace it or refund my money. If the technicians get the laptop to power on, they will not do anything to it. They will send it back to me as is. I know that the problem will continue, and I cannot risk doing anything important on the computer, because it has already proven to be defective and will need a hard reset often. Because of this, the computer has no value at all. I would never trust the computer with any of my personal work or my business work.
Neither Office Max nor ASUS is willing to take the computer back. I have even offered to exchange the computer and even buy a more expensive one if that would help, but neither will allow me to do that.
So, I have no spent $730.28 for something that I will literally have to throw away. It has no value at all.
Desired outcome: I either want a complete refund or an opportunity to exchange it for a working laptop.

Tech support paid for and still inactive after 7 months
Another 10 days past since my last email to OD Customer Service, Maha Alam, and I have been without tech support I PAID FOR for 7 months now. No response and no resolution.
I am asking you to refund my money as tech support is a fraud, payment collected while service not provided.
If there is no action/response within 48 hours, I will be reporting Office Depot to Consumer Protection Agency.

Desired outcome: Refund.

Tul Pens
It is my understanding that Office Depot makes these pens. They used to be very good. There has been a problem with the last 2 packs of Bold Tul Pens. The ink gets stuck in the cartridge so no ink is going to the point. I have to bang the point against the paper to get it to write again. This is a major problem that needs to be fixed.
I got these pens at the San Diego store on 825 W. E St.
These are the TUL GL series gel ink retractable black 1.0 BOLD
There are 4 pens to a pack.
Desired outcome: 1. Fix the problem2. Refund a new pack of pens

Office Chair
I purchased an office chair at a fantastic sale price and purchased a gift card of $100 for office depot from my Capital One shopping rewards program. I received the office chair very promptly, actually the next day after placing the order. I was very excited and upon removing the parts I immediately notice the chair was damaged. I called customer service and was told they would schedule someone to pick up the defective chair and issue a refund. She asked did I want to reorder the chair and if I had another gift card because she would be mailing the one I used back to me. I was completely livid at this point of the process and I asked for a supervisor. after being placed on hold for a period of time, she asked for my contact information to have a supervisor call me back and she stated she will tell you the same thing! I waited for an hour and I called back again. After explaining my concern to the next representative it appeared she was attempting to handle the process in a different manner, however, she read notes from the previous representative and stated this is all we can do. I have never been told to repurchase an item if the item was defective. I basically get another item shipped and sometimes kept the defective item or have it picked up. The experience with the entire process is antiquated and unprofessional!
Desired outcome: My thought process would be to replace damaged items by shipping a new item to the customer instead of the refund process method.

Magellan electric standing desk (358370)
On march 6th I bought a magellan standing desk for my office. Within a month it stopped working (after moving it up and down less than 5 times). I contacted customer support who made me try things to make it work again, but that did not work. After that, they said they would send me a replacement part. Besides that, the person on the phone was quite rude.
A week later I sent an email to ask for an update, the same person called me. Again she was quite rude. They said it could take 10 weeks for my replacement part to arrive which is ridiculous, especially since the bad part is very known to fail.
Today we are june 16th and I STILL DON'T HAVE A REPLACEMENT PART.
All I have is a useless standing desk that is stuck in an awful position to the point where it hurts my neck and back when using it.
Desired outcome: I honestly just want to return the thing and get a refund. This has been an awful experience and I'm very disappointed in Office depot.
A drafting chair
I ordered a drafting chair online, they sent the complete wrong chair. Did not realize till I unboxed it and starting to assemble. So boxed it back up and called office depot to tell them they sent the complete wrong chair. Well just having to box it back up and call someone to explain was a nightmare. Then I was told a office depot employee would come and pick up the chair within a few days, which they did a couple days later. They then charged my credit card again for the right chair which came in a few days, but the first chair that was not the chair we order and still have not received a refund. I was told the refund would come 2 to 3 days after they pick up the chair. It has been 10 days still no refund. This is a nightmare. The problems with this is all Office depots fault. They should have given the refund instantly and not create all this work and physical and emotional stress for their mistake. This is the worst company to deal with that I can think of. Please do not order anything from them. It is not worth the nightmare. I have called many times regarding this and get a different answer each time. Ask for supervisor and she did absolutely nothing. I also have a email from the second girl that says I will have the refund 2-3 days after they pick up the chair. Any way how someone could send the completely wrong chair is beyond me. I would say that is almost impossible mistake to make. I did not ask for any of this - loss of time and physical and emotional stress. That office depot created and does nothing to remedy. Thanks, Amber
Desired outcome: I think they should credit the refund instantly along with extra $800 for all the time wasted to deal with it. Plus the physical and emotional stress. Thanks, Amber
Dell computer
We purchased a new dell all in one computer from your Walnut creek store. We paid for all data to be transferred from the two year old all in one we had previously purchased from office max. We purchased the extended warranty for two years. We purchased the tech. support contract and we have now paid the $99 deductible to have an unqualified sub-contracted tech to come to my mother's residence, (worthless). I will go back to the store again today to see what can be done. As a family we've been doing business with Office Max and Office depot for years and this latest go round has been beyond disappointing. Thomas Hamilton/Dorothy Hamilton [protected]
Desired outcome: The computer is less than 3 weeks old, if Office Max is not able to provide the service promised, I'd like a complete refund and we will make a purchase at a different store.

Brother dr 730 toner
I purchased this item with the floor persons help because my toner was out. When I got back to my office there was no ink, Just a drum. I went back to the store 15 min later and was told it does not come with ink. I ask about ink and was told there were no returns because the box was open. I have purchased a lot of toner from your store and this is the first time there was no ink in it. I'm not even sure why you would sell one with no ink. I would like a refund on the item I purchased because it is worthless to me.
Desired outcome: Refund on Item
