Wrong item delivered by Takealot staff
I bought Apple MacBook on Takealot app on the 12th of September 2023 for R18 000. And was informed by Takealot that the item will be delivered on the 15th of September 2023.
I was contacted by Takealot the morning of delivery, informing me that my MacBook will be delivered before 5pm. At around 8am same day, some guy calls me and tells me that he's outside our base to deliver, and by then I was already out for gym. I asked him to wait for me since I was not far from the base. He refused and left, and told me that he will come back.
Fast forward, I called the branch and complained about him. After some time at around 10am, he calls and tells me that he's outside the base for my delivery. I drove to him and collected Takealot box.
I went to my unit and opened the box, only to find what I did not order. I found boxes of cameras that I did not order, and the was no MacBook. I logged a return immediately and asked for my refund.
I belive Takealot packages wrong items from their depot to rip people off, or these delivery guys have found a way to open their boxes.
To cut the story short, I have been calling and sending emails since 15 September 2023 asking for my refund, and today is 22 February 2024. Takealot still hasn't refunded me.
Can someone please help me, they have blocked my Takealot account.
I am told that my return was rejected, and I really don't know how and why.
Please help me, I really need to sue Takealot. I am ignored, when ever I call.. They hung up the phone. I can not just loose 18k to them.

I had purchased a cellphone for my Patner for Valentines day. I have been saving for 4 months for this, I received the parcel on the 13th. It was left by the gate and I had not agreed to any of that. I don't even know the people that had my parcel. It was cheap cheap phone that was in the box. I gave it back and they are now telling me that don't even sell the product.

False advertised product
I bought a beautiful 4-in-1 Baby walking ring for my almost 2 year old baby just before Christmas. It was advertised as being for the age of up to 36 months (3years).
My office assisted in assembling it for me, I went on holiday,came back&wanted to use it, only to realize baby is too tall for it. Being advertised for up to 36months, I then had to wait for someone to adjust it for me, only to find out it can't be adjusted. I logged a return, it was collected. I then got notified it was declined. I explained i bought it according to what was advertised (for up to 36months), and that my son has developmental delays&can only now sit,and needs a walker now to find his balance and learn to walk. I never received a response, and the walker was delivered back to me today without even being notified that it was being returned today.
When I went in to look at the advertisement on Takealot app, I saw they have taken the "up to 36months" part out completely.
I now sit with a R1000 walking ring i can't use, while I desperately need one for my son&don't have the money to buy.
If I resell it, I won't get my money spent back. I purchased this much needed item out of my December bonus.
My son undergoes weekly therapy sessions to assist in his development, and Takealot has now really put a stop on what I need to do at home.

I placed an order with takealot.com on 08th January 2024 and it was delivered on the 10th January 2024. The strange thing was that even though this was a delivery to address order, the currier team asked that myself and other customers go to a local mall to meet the delivery truck for collection. Other customers were quite upset because we were told to arrive at 11am which they did but the delivery truck arrived at 12noon. It was all confusing because we had all requested delivery to address and here we were collecting orders from the back of a truck.
Things got even more strange when I got home and found that some items were missing from my order and some items were not part of my order.
I immediately lodged a complaint with takealot.com on the 10th of January 2024 and to this day (1 February 2024)I'm still waiting for my items to be delivered. I've completed their form and provided all the details they need but they still requested me to send them the same information over 3 times.
I've literally had to exchange emails with over 8 different agents (all using the same email address) who each seemed not to have the information I've previously shared with their co workers. At times they simply go quiet and I have to check with them again only to have to resend them something again.
Is everything okay at takealot.com? As if the above was not enough, I just tried to call their call center and their agent literally picked up the phone but didn't speak. Instead they let the TV play in the background and left me saying hello to no avail. This happened 3 times and the whole situation is all unlike Takealot.com.

I bought an item aforementioned which I collected on the 9th of November 2023. On the 2nd of December 2023 I did successfully lodge an item return request and a QR code and a pin we sent to me. The item was not functioning and as a result requested replacement. On the 6th of December 2023 I did take the item to the Pietermaritzburg branch. The person who was manning the front desk (whom I have learned was a driver) told me that the return code was not reflecting as yet advised me to leave the item with him. I have been making follow ups regarding the status of the returned item since I requested replacement since the 29th of December. Both the head office in Capetown as well as the Pmb branch have been promising to make a follow up and revert back after a number of emails I have been sending. I am therefore requesting intervention before I take the matter to the consumer council and other structures who will be able to deal with my case.

Return not delivered
Good day takealot was suppose to return a product to me after testing. The product was suppose to be sent out on the 13th of jan 2024. To date the courier has not received the product and takealot has not bothered in assisting emails are not answered and calls just keep coming to the same thing we will escalate no results. Its a r 10 000.00 purchase and a lot of money to lose due to dishonest business practice.
It was a cellphone purchased, on opening of the product it switched on and while transferring of data it went off and would not charge. They assessed the product and rebooted as it was stuck in data mode hence it would not charge, they then promised the product will be sent back and it will take 3 to 5 days for the product to reach us. I asked for the tracking number and company which they supplied, but the courier company said they received notice of the waybill, but the product was never placed in their care, now following up multiple times a day since tuesday all we get is we will revert back each time but no answer.

When I bought the product last year March 2023 the power stayed on for about 2 and a half to 3 hours during load shedding.
For the last month or two, it only worked for about 1 hour 45 minutes before it was switched off during load shedding.

I ordered a Tatoo machine and received my machine on the 29th of November for my course that started on the third of Jan 2024. I ordered it early because I was scared I would n to receive it in time for my course due to the holidays and it was on special. On the third we went through the manual and on the 4th we practiced making pixels on a skin sheet. On the 5th when I trained on my model we felt the machine was not adjusting like it should. My trainer Jennifer made a comment and said something does not feel right with this machine. When I practiced my pixels in the evening I felt the machine was wobbling and while I was practicing on my skin sheet the entire machine came apart. You can see it is the screws that came apart. This was not a fault from my side. Your claims department is declining my return and telling me there are visible user damage. There is no damage expert the machine that came apart. Please have a look at the pictures. This machine should be adjusted as many times as I want due to the needle that needs to be adjusted and us changing the needles all the time. This is not acceptable. I paid R4000 for this machine. please have look and see there are no dents or scratches on this machine. I only used it twice. I want a new machine or im taking this up further and I will post this on google review and hello Peter.

I bought an ink combo for my new printer through takealot and product was delivered on 1 November 2023. The ink combo Cost over R2300. I inserted the ink cartridges and have not printed more than 500 pages to date and black ink is saying Low replace cartridge. How is this possible. Last printer I used it for over 2 years before I needed to replace the ink
I am not it happy with this.

Seller support
We have been an independent Seller on Takealot.com for a number of years. There is no secret that they are an absolute headache to work with on a good day, but now they have taken it too far.
Takealot can do what they please, and who pays for it? Us, the sellers! It is ridiculous how such a large company is so incompetent.
For example, currently there seems to be an issue at the TAL DC's with one of our products, as we are getting a number of returns with each and every client stating it's not what they ordered, and instead they are receiving an entirely different product to what they ordered and what we sell. Yet Takealot refuse to launch a stock enquiry to check what the issue and BETTER YET, Takealot refuse to refund the fulfilment fees for these incorrectly delivered products (there are over 60 of these).
This is one of the very many struggles independent sellers on Takealot face daily.

This is now the 3rd time in a row that I ordered items and wait for a long time for delivery, just to find some of the items get cancelled and the rest of the order is going to take another 2 weeks to deliver! This last time I ordered a couple of sets of different Christmas lights. Expexted delivery date was 19 Dec, which is already 10 days after the order date. I checked everyday, hoping that it might be delivered sooner, only to find yesterday that it is only going to be delivered by 30 Dec 23! I am beyond furious, Takelot you are such a BIG dissapointment! I cannot find these items in any store anymore, as they are sold out everywhere! Who wants Christmas lights after Christmas?! I phoned customer service as always in the past, you can never speak to a supervisor or a manager, as strange enough they are always busy on another call. AND they NEVER call you back on the no you leave with the consultants. A LOT of people I know is complaining about you. Your service has detiorated to a point of no return. SA its time we support another online store, as Takelot failed its customers and are no longer interested in providing us with decent customer service as in the past!

I made contact on the 9th Decemeber 2023 as I had 4 missing items. I called them within about 10 mins of receiving my goods. I sent the box numbers and was told it would take 48 hrs to get back to me. I called on wed was sent from pillar to post told my consultants it would be escalated etc and that they would call me. Thursday I called at 11h30 spoke to Kamv he assured me he would escalate it and I'd have feedback by the afternoon. Obviously I didn't so called again and some to Sayape she said her manager Ziaan is busy and would call me. I await the call. I am leaving for overseas on Friday the 15th and I have expressed this numerous times with no gifts. Takealot could not give a damn! There consultants are lacking so badly! Cannot wait for Amazon! Takealot really losing their touch.

I bought a new redmi phone for black friday special. It was 3700. Good price. Phone was delivered no problem. On second day I saw the battery was going down quickly. Not good for a new phone. Contacted takelot. I said I was still keen on a redmi phone could they swap it for another same phone.I THEN ASKED IF I WAS STILL NOT HAPPY COULD I GET A REFUND. I was assured I could. 2 items ordered and paid for, but only one delivered/received
I ordered and paid for some pretty expensive Gym Supplements that I required urgently from Takealot.
They indicated that the items would be delivered on the Saturday - about a week later.
I made special arrangements with my mum and helper to receive the items, since I knew I would be away for the day.
On arrival back home, I noticed that only one item was delivered! I logged 5 or 6 queries, with no “real” response so far (just some generic/AI response).
Takealot guarantee on their website that queries will be resolved within 48hrs - but this is not the case. Their customer service is absolutely terrible/non-existent (no phone numbers - just some robotic help centre email contacts…which take ages to respond).
I logged another complaint on HelloPeter, where I noticed 17000+ (yes : seventeen thousand+) similar complaints from ‘unhappy/cheated’ consumers! This is disgusting! Takealot has one of the worst customer-service/trust-index scores on the entire Hellopeter site! They don’t ever respond to customer queries on the website!
I have now decided to log a complaint with the Consumer Goods and Services Ombudsman of South Africa, in terms of my rights under the Consumer Protection Act). I suggest that all South African complainants do the same. The contact details are as follows:

My advice to Takealot SA : 1) Hire more competent/trust-worthy people (Especially on the delivery side). The current ‘outsourced’ delivery staff do not have a clue about customer service (some seem to be running a ‘racket’). 2) read through the Hellopeter complaints - there seems to be a theft syndicate operating in the Supply Chain

Item return/refund
Takealot team, it's been 3 weeks now.
My parcel is not being returned to me, my account is not being credited.
I logged a return on 19th November and it was canceled without any notice.
I relogged the return instantly just to be told that my first return was logged correct and the 2nd logged incorrectly.. So why was my first canceled in the first place?
Now I need to wait for my item to be returned before I can log a third return.
See attached screenshot, a link to dpd was shared to track the return, but now the tracking number is no longer valid.
I urgently need assistance with this to be sorted asap!
Please can someone just assist me for once and get my item returned or just refunded as I requested.
I have literally been waiting almost a month now and this is unacceptable.
Kindly advise I need to come down to your collection offices to get this sorted, or give me a call please!
May I please ask that i get a call from a manager who can get this sorted.
I have been back 'n forth with agents and no results at all!

Poor service and Product
My last order with takealot has been a nightmare.
I ordered two bob wigs as they were marked down. After a week takealot refunded me and sent an email that the order was out of stock.
The same is still in stock it just has a mark up price. I don't want the money I want the wigs as I previously explained. The wig were for graduation and it was very disappointing as I promised my niece a wig and it's didn't arrive.
I also bought a vacuum pore. I received the same thing in the same state twice.
It looked like it was used. Fist time it smells of chemicals and looked dirty. Second I received it. It looked dirty and the glasses had chipped. I am really not happy as I have been patient waiting for assistance.
I'm really gutted with the treatment I received and lack of compassion takealot has shown
Desired outcome: I would like my weave that I ordered. Refund for my vacuum pore and compassion for time wasted as I had to go spend extra with other companies.

Toshiba 65" smart tv
Am very disappointed to takealot, my husband bought Toshiba 65 smart tv cash & it was delivered on the 15th of Nov, immediately after taking it out of the box & plug it in the screen was faulty, my husband called them the same dayto lay a complain, then they collected it, only to find out that they are saying the tv was damaged at home, how we don't know, after few weeks they return the tv worse than it was, it doesn't switch on, this matter we gonna take it to the lawyers, cause we can't buy a damaged tv, I will not recommend anyone to buy at takealot cause they don't have customer service😡

Unfair seller disabling

Laverne has been an utterly rude compliance staff member which should not be placed in a position to "resolve" problems as this is absolutely not het strength. She have NEVER given us a "WARNING" as she is mentioning and just suspends our account after it's now the peak season for business and she feels ABSOLUTELY nothing for sellers, bur rather wants to just suspend and block your account. She doesnt even try to resolve the situation, she doesnt consider what products you are selling, but rather just suspends the account. This is unacceptable. She has previously disabled a product which is sold in all stores, but she feels it's medical which in fact is NOT AT ALL and applies to all regulations from the medical board to be sold freely and we have added another product which we found under the Takealot catalog, so please tell me WHY i am not allowed to add a product that is ALREADY in the catalog?
If you are in compliance, you should work with your sellers and ensure that both has best interest, but rather she just suspends the account not thinking that you are running a business or have wages to pay and selling as SEASONAL product. This is UNFAIR - both us and TAKEALOT is loosing sales through an incompetent staff member?!
This employee should get trained properly in "compliance" and learn how to ASSIST clients in a better manner and try to help and resolve problems, not just suspending accounts, left right and center! and try punish them before even helping or guiding!
Claimed loss: SALES in Seasonal sales as well as selling of a numbing cream which is allowed to be sold on the platform!
Desired outcome: Enable my account!
