takealot jhb hub does not check the postal code for delivery!!!
I have placed my order and once again have a issue with the delivery of my order to the incorrect place.
My postal code clearly states 7353 cape town however the order was shipped off to durban as my place of residence is chatsworth.
I do not understand how the hub can make this mistake as I order frequently and if they use fedex courier my order gets delivered to my correct address but if they use mr delivery then it gets misdirected!
Get your story straight when you delivering as people needs the items delivered on time as chosen on delivery confirmation.

After Takealot failed to make any contact whatsoever I finally received an email to request that the delivery of the order be rescheduled. After making suitable arrangements again no contact was made, the order was labeled as a failed delivery and returned to the warehouse and I was informed that I must re-purchase the products, the prices of which have gone up in the wait. There is no formal complaints process easily accessible on the Takealot website, I only managed to find a customer service number by finding this website. My dealings with Takealot in the past have been extremely satisfactory but this experience has simply left a bitter taste in the mouth.

Jesse Abrahams of take a lot try to help me that the courier company must come and take the wrong article back. She try now for more than a week with this.
All I want is my money back what I had paid for the article - R3178.00
When I had purchased the artical the Take a Lot website shows me that the article is in stock. After ten days Take a Lot told me there is nothing in stock. A day later Take a Lot send the article but after I had received the aticle I noticed that is not what I had ordered and I phone Take a Lot about this.
Then all my trouble start. Firstly thy want photos of the wrong articles, then thy shoal send the courier services to pick it up, after Take a Lot had received it, thy firstly want to investigate the article and after that thy shall pay me back.
As from 22 Sept 2017 till now Take a Lot didn't send a courier to pick the articles up.
I shall spread the word of Take a Lot bad service and help.
Are there anyone who can stand up and take this matter in hand and solve the problem?

Purchased a Microsoft Life Cam HD-3000 and did not use it irremediably. a couple of weeks after delivery I discovered it is not working properly. Requested it to be collected to be inspected. 3 weeks after first collection date and still not collection. ref: :RRN-9c41-6680, Complaint has been escalated and a person did attempt to help but since no contact. Tuesday 26/09/2017. was the last collection date they did not collect. There has been no contact since.

Hi there,
I bought a romoss solo2 4000mah powerbank that advertised as an Electronic Flash deal for only R169 with one left.
I cart it along with my other goodies and after paying I realize that I was charged R199 and not R169 as advertised- so naturally I think I missed the deal but go back to the deals page and voila- there is the same deal of this powerbank on special for R169 with only one left.
Naturally I log a complaint (R30 isn't much but it's the principle), just to have Elzita tell me that she is sorry I missed the deal... Went back on the deal site and the powerbank is not out of stock but completely removed the deals list.
I find this highly unethical so Takealot will probably not see me again.
Thanks but I'll go spend that extra R30 in a shop that will actually assist me.

I purchased this playhouse for my children only to receive an email stating my order has been cancelled due to supplier being out of stock. I later discovered that this item was actually incorrectly priced and I believe this is the reason for them cancelling my order. The new price showing on their website and R25 390 and not the R2539 I paid. In stead if admitting their error they have now come up with this story of the supplier being out of stock. I am utterly disgusted in the way takealot have handled this incident and cannot believe they will not admit to their error after I have told them I am aware now that there was an error in the price. My children are devastated that they will not be receiving the playhouse I had purchased for them. And I am yet to receive my refund after telling them 3 times how I would like it to be refunded and yet they still keep asking.

I am shocked at the unacceptable quality of luggage recently purchased from Takealot for our overseas trip. It did not even make it the first leg of our flight from Cape Town to Madrid. The luggage handles broke at the first luggage carousel where we were to collect our baggage and and they were not even packed to their full specified capacity. Not only one handle on the same suitcase broke but two! The actual casing has torn and the wheel is coming apart from the housing. The zip has also broken. This is after one use! It unacceptable and this product is being sold under a presence that you can actually travel with this inferior product! I insist on my money back, one cannot purchase luggage and it does not even last one holiday. It has been highly embarrassing and this product should be removed from your product selection with immediate effect! There is a serious quality issue here and cannot be sold to be used for what it was manufactured.

You guys took takes to find my payment from a source you provided as an instant payment- I reordered and now the things I want is no longer available - service sucks-I payed for my order on the 04th only after numerous calls and emails my payment was eventually found today, reason no one can explain. Received confirmation of upliftment regarding the incorrect item supplied.
Please confirm when the correct replacement item will be delivered i.e. 20 inch big blue string wound sediment filter cartridge (3-pack). I'm not satisfied to wait till the return has been finalised before corrective action is taken. I've placed three orders last week and there has been an issue with every single delivery, clearly Takealot's supply chain operation is an unmitigated disaster:
1. On 29 August I placed order [protected], instead of receiving a pack of 5 replacement filters for a reversed osmosis system I received 4 filters. I decided that it would be easier merely to go and purchase the missing filter from a competitor.
2. On 29 August I placed order [protected], I received the Big Blue cartridge housing, however received 5 x 10 inch sediment filters not 3 x 20" filters for said housing, now scheduled for upliftment.
3. On 31 August I placed order [protected], the tent was indicated as 'in stock' with the ground sheet having to be ordered in from the relevant vendor. To expedite the delivery I cancelled the ground sheet, yet the order remained in a 'stock allocated' status with no movement. I subsequently cancelled the remaining item (tent) and ordered a replacement item from the Cape Town warehouse.
I have asked for a member of management to contact me, I can only assume this request is purposefully being ignored, so once more I request that I be given Francois Retief's email address.

I'm beyond upset! Mr D contacted me to inform me (20min after the call mind you) that they will be delivering my package.. Told them I'm not home, and I doubt I'll be home before 17:00 therefore I'll leave the money with the security guards and they can leave the package with them. I left work rushed to go back home to give the guards the money, when I got there they inform me the delivery guy was here and he has left no so long ago, try to call him, I'm told by the rude Mr D consultant/receptionist that he doesn't know his cellphone number or maybe he doesn't have a phone. I tell them I need that parcel because I'm leaving the province. We agree that I will personally fetch it myself because they failed to do so, and the delivery fee will be deducted! When I get there they still charged me for it. So I was lied to and angered!

I bought a George mason grinder set, advertised on takealot website as a set (2). I only received one grinder. I emailed takealot and Tariq said it's a manufacturers fault, please return for a full refund. According to him the manufacturers only supplied them with one grinder and not two.
Which is also a complaint, can't you let the customer know? The order states set of grinders, we only have one. Let's send it anyway, maybe they won't realize. Seriously?
I returned the grinder in its original packaging, only to be refunded R49. Yes I am also still trying to figure out what the R49 is for.
Now after numerous emails back and forth, asking for the rest of my R199 to be refunded, I got a coupon of R150.
But I only qualify for the R150 coupon when I spent R350 or more. Really?
I paid, paid with my bank card with a bank otp pin, PAID MY MONEY for that grinders. Paid R199 for a set of grinders but I only get refunded R49.
Luckily I have all the emails and all the names to proof that YOU are in the wrong.
And now after getting a coupon and not being refunded MY MONEY, I am going to take this matter to the consumer protection act. I have more than enough evidence.

I ordered stuff on Monday for my husbands birthday on Friday, all you info said that it would be delivered on Thursday so I thought let do this, (even though I have had previous bad experiences with you guys). And to my bitter regret got an email this morning saying that the parcel was sent to the wrong courier branch and will not be delivered today, so my husbands birthday is tomorrow and how disappointing is it not to wake up to a birthday with no presents. I phone customer service and obviously they could not assist me the courier company phoned me the lady took ALL my details and said she is going to see what she can do for me. It is al hour later and no phone call back so I assume you wont be helping me! So this just goes to show, that you cannot be trusted. I wont ever ever ever buy anything from takealot. This always happens to me for some reason. can be the area I am in as the other people that work with me has always received their order on time. strange... so good bye and thanks for nothing.

I had purchased an item from takealot 5 weeks ago. After opening it, covered in numerous layers of wrapping, I realized that there's was a piece missing, and immediately contacted takealot via email (as it is their only means of communication) to which they informed me that they would pick it up two days from then and later replace the entire item. I anticipated their arrival by making arrangements for someone to be at home, and they did not pitch. After lodging a compliant, and rescheduling, they did not pitch again. And again. And again. And each time frivolous excuses made. We were then contacted to say we should take a pic of just the item that was missing and they would replace just that part, which meant we would have to unwrap the package (that we wrapped back in its original packaging for collection according to the terms) to be returned. We were outraged. Upon doing this, they then informed us that they have to pick up the whole product and we should wrap it up again! To which they did not come on the prescribed date! Frustrated as I took off work to receive them on this occasion, we were more pressing in our complaint this time, to which we were called back. By this time we were quite tired of takealots bad service, but they agreed to come today, and we specifically stated anytime before 1:00pm due to prior commitments, it is now almost two, we've contacted takealots dispatch center, and they have "assured" us that they will be picking up at 4! As they have a hectic schedule. Absolutely disgusting! Will never purchase from takealot again, and encourage others not to do so

At the time I placed an order, all the items I requested was in stock. On the day that I was expecting delivery, I received an email stating that my order has been delayed due to one item not being in stock. I'm very annoyed, as I now missed the chance of surprising someone on their birthday. If I had known that the entire order would have been delayed, I would have gone and bought the item in store instead!

I have purchased a few sauces from Takealot I have received them yesterday !
When I checked the best before date two out of 4 sauces are expired and the other two expire within and month and the other in November! The seasoning salt that I purchased did not have a seal and was opened and also expires within a month or two !
Personally I think this unacceptable! Or it should have stated under description that products are expired ! There should be at least 6 to 12 months before expiry when customers receive products like these !
I have purchased many products from you and have been very happy thus far.
Please let me know the way forward and in future best before dates should be checked before sending products to be delivered!
