I believe that about 80% of the Tim Horton's coffee I buy during the roll-up-the-rim-to-win contest have already been rolled up and checked. It is easy to tell...if the spot where the writing is is looser than the rest of the rim...it's obviously been looked at.

I would like to see Tim Hortons investigate how many prizes are won by employees and their families compared to the general population.

That's funny, because Tim Hortons employees and family aren't allowed to win prizes during the contest. Employees aren't even allowed to take RotR cups at other locations, or roll the rims up in any store. Breaking this rule is grounds for termination. Try doing your research before you come on here and troll on the Timmy Ho's employees.

I agree with the person above, MrFawkes. Employees or families aren't allowed the cups, we get the old ones. If we DO get a RUR cup and win something, we can't get the prize anyways.

ffs. It's looser because it's meant to be rolled up. Have you ever rolled up a rim and been able to put it back to it's original condition.

I have a different beef regarding cups at Tim Hortons. Why when people eat in the store are they NOT given mugs instead of paper
cups? The amount of garbage hat is collected is really pathetic! The stores have dishwashers so my question why are washable cups,
dishes and cutlery NOT used instead o all that disposable stuff eg: Paper cups, plastic stir strips, cardboard boxes etc. ?
With hundreds of stores in Ontario alone I think that T.H. could be a little more environmentally responsible. Just my 2 cents!

It's not completely our choice, we're to ask if people prefer a paper cup or china mug, so if they want to leave they can bring their coffee with them. It is our mistake sometimes however to accidently give them paper cups when they want mugs, but that isn't as often (unless again, they ask for paper). I will say I hate that we don't have sleeves for the cups, rather than double cupping them. THAT is a big waste... and it'd save money for Tim's, I'm guessing.

I work at a tim hortons in calgary where the manager takes cups that have been dropped on the floor and takes the winning tabs off and gives them to her family members to use. In reality they are to be destroyed by the manager not used by her or her family. Also when her family comes in during roll up the rim she gives them roll up the rim cups instead of regular cups like she is supposed to. Its not hard for them if they win a major prize to get a friend to redeem it and make a deal with them.

Well I know for a fact the rims are already rolled up. Ever since my girlfriend, at the time, who worked at Tim Hortons, her and her co-workers would roll the rims on all the cups on the night shift and do it were the cameras would not see and they would give them to their friends. I can tell the ones that are not rolled up because they would hurt my fingers and the ones that are rolled, sometimes I have a hard time reading them because they are so wrinkled.

That's [censor]ed, to be blunt. There's too much security and too much to lose if employees rolled the rims. Do you realise how much security those bloody cups go through? It's a lengthy Brinks-level security to get those cups to the stores safely, and then even if they're in the store's van (Smaller stores pick up materials in vans and get the product when they start running low inside) they need to bring them in at night and keep them in the back for security.
I worked at Timmies, and my mom has been a manager for a Timmies for years, and a HUGE majority (close to 100%) of the stores would not have pre-rolled cups.

Just because your idiot girlfriend and her half-[censor] working sleezy co-workers are stupid enough to break the strict rules at Timmies doesn't mean you need to give a bad name to the rest of the more HONEST employees.

To the person who wrote this complaint - there's your convict, must have been the same store. (I'm not saying that seriously, but who knows)

So don't talk about 'facts' when it's just people who don't do their job properly.

I agree and think you are 100% right. I have the same problem in Brampton, On and for those of you who said it is like that so you can roll up the rim easier why is it only like that at this 1 location that I go to? Not to mention they can never get my order right at this one place as well. I think this location at Steeles/West Dr in Brampton is corrupt! Thanks happy to see there are other that feel the same way as me! have a great day :)

I've gotten several cups that seemed very easy to roll up and the seem looked like it was allready rolled up. I completely agree that this should be investigated. I don't think its anyone from tim hortons because I watched the girl take the cup from a new bag of cups. Must have happened before it got to tim hortons

Losers always complain! If its not timmies, its the casinos, lotto ticket frauds, bla bla bla! Just because you don't win a stupid coffee or donut ( which you might not need in the first place!) Stop blaming without facts! Store employees have so much ### to do.. without standing there to F#^$ roll up cups. If you complain so much why don't you go drink a coffee at starbucks, Mcdonalds or Subway!

Just took the lid off an already rolled rim. Easy to tell when there is creases in the rim already only where the writing is. Anyone who thinks there isn't some shady people that work at Tim Hortons is dreaming.

There are constantly creases where the roll up writing is here in Winnipeg too. Also at more than one location. It is really obvious. You can easily see it. Stop so viciously defending people you don't know Timmieserver. I hope you lose your job for berating the nice folks commenting about their experience with this contest. By the way, I don't eat donuts, don't drink coffee, only tea and couldn't really care less if I win a free anything or not. Just disgusted by the shady behaviour of whoever is rolling them up and Tims falure to do something about it.

Yes the ones in St Johns NL were all rolled up. I am not going to Tim's when I visit there. Smaller towns here are good.

Being a regular timmies drinker I can confirm for a fact that this is happening in winnipeg at 1 location for sure and out of close to 100 coffees I have purchased over the span of 45 days this year since the competitions started I won ABSOLUTELY NOTHING which got me suspicious as in previous years buying 2 coffees a day I would win quite a few free coffees and donuts. And so after taking a closer look at the rims before rolling them in consequent cups sure enough the rim looked busted and clearly has been rolled up. Now this past weekend I have gone on a trip to alberta and won on 4 out of roughly 10 coffees over the entire duration of the trip. In conclusion something shady is cleary going on and after a second call and complaint to the customer service department i was advised that it is actually up to the individual store owners to call me back to rectify any issues as they are "independent owners" and that perhaps i should call the store... so I figured I'd try that however the store owner never bothered calling back. the store is the 1146 Portage Ave location.
