closing of the store before time
Good day
I went to Truworths golden walk last week Wednesday and Thursday at 17:50 and the store was already closed but the time on the door says 6:00 o'clock, like how is that possible ?.can you please go back and change your time on the door .I believe they should be closing at 6 :00 o'clock on the dot not one minute before as it says 6:00 on the door.i explained this to the security guy at the door and I was told thats the time they close the door every day

A few days ago I got a call from a lady saying she is from Truworths. She then proceeded to ask me personal questions such as ID number, Street address or date of birth. We are constantly warned about SCAMS so I refused to answer her! As much as she demanded to ensure she was talking to the correct person - how do I know I am even talking to someone from Truworths!
She then advised that if I was uncomfortable giving out my info she would never the less continue the discussion and advised me my account was in arrears. I advised I would go to the shop at month end and make payment when I do my instalment as I could speak to the cashier and ask for a printout of my statement.
She obviously disregarded what I was saying because she wanted banking details to organise a debit order - what part of I will go in at month end did she not understand? I told her I would make payment at month end and am not giving banking details.
Subsequently I have received numerous messages advising me that my account is going to be handed over! Why? I told you I was going to make payment at month end when I pay my instalment so what's with the threats?
Anyway, I am aware from my previous statement that it looks like I only have 2 more instalments to pay - I am done with Truworths - they have no customer service and no listening skills!
Looks like they choose soft targets who they can see generally pay their account! I am closing my account and will definitely not recommend people open accounts or shop here!

Hi bought a shoe for my husband as a birthday gift, and because he is in between sizes as it depends on the make of the shoe I took size 11. I gave him the shoe on his birthday as it was a suprise birthday gift, he tried the shoe on the 19 July 2018 on his birthday he walked in the house for less than an hour and unfortunately the shoe was too big and we need a size 10 instead. On the same day of his birthday we went to the truworths store in canal walk cape town to do the exchange it for a smaller size, just to be told that sorry the shoe was worn, yes it was just to see if it fits but because the sole was dirty "clearly" they could not do the exchange. I spoke to the store manager, regional manager aswell as the operation manager, just to be told that they won't take it back. I was told that they can't sell the shoe again so and that the business will lose money. What about the consumer, so it's ok for me to pay for something that my partner can't wear. I would've understood if the shoe was worn outside and for a full day, but not less than an hour in the house to try it. I received a call from head office to advise that I need to collect my shoe as they not doing or authorising the exchange. And all that care about is making money because all I got from them was " we can't sell the shoe again, and we loosing out on R900" what about me! ? I'm losing R900 now as a customer as an individual I don't have my own business I don't have money to waist on something that my partner can't wear. I don't want my money back or credit all I want is a different size that's all. I had to see my doctor the next day because of this stress I'm pregnant and can't really deal with this right now. If this is not resolved I don't want the shoe because I don't know what to do with it. I will pay my account and close the account I think its for the best for myself and my unborn baby.

For the last few months I have been receiving phone calls asking me to pay my account before the next installment is due.
I pay my account every month at your stores, and when I make the payment I ask the person assisting me what the installment is so I can pay the correct amount.
Yesterday I received a call asking me to pay my account. (19 July 2018)
I asked why I was being asked to pay my account before the instalment was due and I was then told my account was in arrears of R17?! I asked why I was not told this when I paid my last installment as I would then have paid the extra R17!
( FYI I have an outstanding balance of R118 owing.)
I was then asked a series of personal questions relating to my personal bank accounts and ID numbers and then asked if the amount could be deducted from my bank account. This after I had said that I would settle the amount month end when my next installment is due.
I did not appreciate being harassed about an error you made, and to be asked such personal information on the phone.
Clearly your staff instore and your people calling me are not on the same page with regards to accounts.
This has happened numerous times now and I am fed up.I am getting a bad credit reputation because of your errors even though I pay my account every month.
I have had this account for around 10yrs now and I do not wish to continue any longer.

I am greatly aggrieved with the service I have received from Truworths. On Sat 14/7/18 I receive a call at 8am from the call centre. Through my sleep I am thanked for handling my account so well and then I am bombarded because of a short payment last month of R400. I'm stumped because I can't believe I shortpaid but I tell the lady I will sort it out later in the day. This lady starts yelling at me that she needs to make an arrangement with me. "Geez I just said I would sort it out." So I tell her because I am upset now that I would complain about her and goodbye. I emailed that complaint to customer services and they have not replied to do anything about it. They rather advise me that the internet payment I made on Saturday which if I may add is more than the shortpayment will only reflect in 4 or 5 days. These customer service ladies Wasela and Aashieqah have only aggrieved me more with their non chalont attitude towards my complaint. Furthermore today I also receive an important notice from Truworths that my account is overdue and it will negatively affect my credit record. Really all of this due to an oversight of mine where I paid them R400 short. I'm done with Truworths they have no customer service at all.

I have been receiving calls from Truworths Clothing Store about an arrears account. I have never had an account with them. Upon further investigation a Mr Mgabhi, birthdate 19/01/1998 opened an account with my cell phone details. CMS Collectors just put the phone down in my ear when I talk to them about this and Truworths does not want to follow this up or give any information about locating Mr Mgabhi. This is encouraging fraud accounts, with innocent people being constantly bothered with the fraudster's debt. I have had the same cellphone number for the last 21 years - Truworths claims it could just be an change of numbers which could be at fault, totally not bothered by the fact the they give credit to people without checking their details. This account has been outstanding for the last couple of months with a monthly payment of R558 and Customer Care Line simply DON' T CARE

I have regretted the day I opened an account with Truworth. I opened the account 2-3 years ago and I closed. This year 2018, I was opening an account with Earthchild, to my surprise it was under Truworth.
I accidentally used my old account number as a red to pay my current account. This people keeps calling me and I explain the same story over and over but they are not helping me. I even took the means to contact them to explain my situation. incorrect and inaccurate listing on my credit profile
I must say I regret the day I opened a Truworths/Identity account. I have been harassed several times by a collections company called VVM even though my payments were up to date and to my suprise now I see an inaccurate listing on my credit profile. A month ago I was fedup with the constant calls from VVM who claimed my account was not paid up, turns out Truworths did the debit from my account and never communicated with this VVM so my account was in arrears at VVM and updated at Truworths but was still recieving up to 5 calls a day from rude agents.
Today I contacted the VVM company to dispute the incorrect listing and now they tell me I have to sort out this issue with Truworths, all the back and forth is really making me mad. Until now I cannot get hold of some in the accounts department at Truworths, I am sitting with an incorrect and inaccurate listing on my name and all that I have is a bunch of unethical companies.
All I want is to close the damn account and cut all ties with these companies!

Bought the above foundation at Truworths, The Glen Shopping on the 30th June 2018 for a relative. Unfortunately this was not the brand my mom wanted returned it on the 4th July 2018 unused in box. They will not refund me on it saying that I pumped it, which is untrue. Gave me a query acknowledgment Query no. [protected]. The query acknowledgment is basically telling me in not so many words that they will not be refunding it. I have been a customer of Truworths for 20+ years and I'm not one to return purchases made unless I have to. The fact that Truworths in 20 years has never even given me a voucher says a lot about the chain. Now they also refuse to credit purchase that are on your policy as refundable (cosmetics refundable) yet they don't stick to whats on the policy. The foundation was for 700.00 hope that helps with your end of month figures.
I will never buy from another Truworths chain ever. I will finish paying my account and close the account.

jersey / product quality
I bought a few months ago (but not half a year!) a jersey (3/4 sleeve white with beige horizontal stripes and buttons on shoulder and elbow) from the truworths brand. I bought it along with two other 3/4 sleeve shirts which are fine. Im a missionary, not rich at all, but for once, being tired of bad quality cheap stuff, thought i'll buy a little more expensive and nice good fitting shirts. I am very happy with the two but the first prescribed one... I washed it twice, normally, and it is piling very badly. If I remember correctly, it costed r350! Sorry but that is impossible price for that quality. I went to truworths in ballito mall to the manager twice if he couldnt help me, he said he cant because I bought with cash and didnt have my receipt...
Please refund or I will know where not to go next time. I love that jersey, it fits me so well, thats why I threw away the payslip!

I was called a few months ago and offered to increase my credit to R4900 I approved that
Then I went and bought Cologne and then my installment went to R1060
Last month I paid 3 Separate payments of R800, R500 & R800 wich accumulates to R2100 and this month they are requesting I pay R1060 again

watches and warranty policy
Now my query is this, Seven months ago I bought a watch at a Truworths with a promising warranty. It broke within a month and they took it in for repair. It broke three more time with the same problem. I have never enjoyed the watch for more than 2 weeks. I always waited six weeks minimum.
After three repairs, I received the watch yesterday the 25th June 2018 and this morning it had stopped working again and the needles were out. Now they want to take it in for another repair. At this point as a customer I have no confidence on the product and find the store products not reliable as promised.
Truworths Store Manager denied me a replacement and also denied me launching a complaint with the store telephone. We understand products fail, but not so many times. Truworths failed to take responsibility of their worthless warranty. The Store Manager at Witbank Klipforntein Emalahleni Truworths didn't want to intervene. The Store Manager didn't care and had no conviction of my disappointment. As a customer I cannot come repetitively for repair of one product which broke the same way and the store fails to protect my interests. The watch broke in less than 24hours and they didn't care about my needs for the watch, instead they took in the watch for other repair which means I must wait another 6 weeks. At this point I just want my money back.

I was at Key West on Sunday 17/6, popped in to your Elements store as I need perfume. I was so happy that this store had stock of my brand!
I had checked the price and it was R1495. Later I checked the slip and I was charged over R1630.
I recall the cashier bending behind the counter for quite a while which explains why she removed the price sticker.

bad boy watch
I have bought a bad boy watch as a gift for someone and had it for roughly 2 months, then the dials just started falling all around on the watch. So i took it back to Tru Worths ( Century City ) and was told it would take for the latest 3 months in order to get it back from the supplier. ( November 2017 ) I have gone in on numerous occasions and was told every time i was going to be contacted once it come's in. Still no response via phone mail nor any sort of communication. I then went back to Century City in the month of April 2018 and was told that the watch did come in but have no clue to the where-about of the watch, so once "AGAIN" i'm told i will be contacted once the repair was found. So no response yet and went in May again and still the same story was told. I went June again and still... NOTHING. Waist of time, petrol for the up and down and having to disappoint the person for the gift that was bought roughly a year ago.

We bought a Father's Day gift and my husband did not like the gift. It was boxer shorts perfectly in it's packaging. If it had been Woolworths or Foshini they would have taken it back. I am disappointed and outraged at this bad service. It made me reconsider buying anything from your store and I am thinking about closing my account. This is the worst service ever!
double billed on an item
I ordered item 9403459 on reference [protected] on 12th June 2018. I then went to a store on the 14th, to buy something else and when I saw my account balance on the till slip I could not believe the amount because I am always keeping my records . I then called customer care to check what was happening and they confirmed that item 9403459 was charged twice, BUT I ordered one . On following up again I was disappointed by your consultant who told me that she could not do anything to help me until the item reaches Northgate . I am really infuriated by this because it is the second time this has happened to me and Truworths does not take responsibility . Clearly order shows that I ordered one item, why is it so hard for the other transaction to be reversed . Someone is not doing their job and the customer suffers in the end. The SAME thing happened to me in January 2017 and I got the run around again, you are very quick to invoice, and half the time doing it wrong but you give me stupid conditions / excuses when it comes to rectifying . Last time I was told that they could only credit my account once the item arrived in Northgate, and guess what ? The item never got to Northgate at all, meanwhile you were sending me statements nagging me for payment, until I created a scene they credited . This time I promise you, you are not getting away with it . I will make sure I expose you . I am even prepared to go on Hellopeter, watch me ! I want this sorted out A.S.A.P because I can not carry on like this . Why should trying to give you business be so stressful ?

Messages that I get on my phone states that due date for payment is the 3rd of each month. I always make payment on the 26th of each month.
I have not missed any payment since the above mentioned date. Looking at my statements I noticed that I've continually being charged interest for - I don't know what?
To this date balance owing on my account is R11150.18
I've got proof of payment for each month reflecting that I always pay on time - the required amount. The balance on my statement should not be so high...something doesn't add up when I compare statements, purchase history and proof of payment that I have.
Kindly assist by looking into this matter. I've always been happy using Truworths products and services... I don't want to see myself parting ways with this Truworths for not resolving this issue.

quality of product - not able to dry clean

A couple of years back I bought a jacket from your Centurion branch to wear during the Winter. Due to the amount of days I wore the jacket, I only recently took the jacket to be dry cleaned for the first time. This was probably the biggest mistake I made. This specific jacket has certain parts that can't be dry cleaned. Please see the pictures below. I am really unhappy about this as the jacket is expensive and now can't be used and all I did was follow your instructions.

harassment regarding my account
I have had a Truworths account for approximately 37 years. My acc no: [protected] - I have never ever missed an instalment and never been harassed in all these years until this month. I short-paid R200, 00 last month. Not r2 million! I am not family of Mr Zuma or the Guptas. I feel insulted and have therefore just been to Sandton City store where I spoke to the Manager, Robert telling him that this conduct is totally unacceptable and untenable. Calling me up to x3 per day and messaging me daily, even today! You will see I owe R1 450 which I will settle next month and never ever buy from Truworths again. I hope that more customers do not pay and that the business goes insolvent because of this conduct. No more. Do not send me messages of any kind.
I agree with you. I ve been harassed for 3 days now. Truworths accused me of being in arrears with my account. Looking at my statement my payment is only due 5 November! its 15 October now. I will never shop there again. I have destroyed my card. WELL DONE TRUWORTHS in losing another customer!
dh shoe with high sole
Bought the shoe a month ago.. Liked d high of the sole as I work long hours... After having worn them few times I find them very uncomfortable due to a factory fault maby it tramps wrong and is very uncomfortable... Can't afford to buy another pair neither can I wear this 1. Im not a young man anymore assumed dh is a top make and never had a problem with truworths items all the years... Pls advise what I should do. Sorry about this.
