discontinued items
It's very frustrating to shop at Walgreens. In the past 6 months, they have discontinued six items that I purchase on a regular basis. They also don't have "sale" items in stock. Management has tried to tell me that there were a lot of customers who already came in and bought up all of the _____________ name the item, but I've been told by varoius cashiers that they had been out of those items for awhile.
I read online that they're removing a lot of their inventory and will be focusing on carrying more electronics and food. For other items, they want people to shop online at their website.
C'mon!
transfer
I have been with Walgreens since April of 1999. I am a loyal employee and will drop what I am doing to go to work. About 2 months ago, I was transferred to store 4123 without being asked. They were short 6 technicians at the time. One technician is in the military, one technician quit, and 4 where on maternity leave. Five out of six are back and there was an agreement that once they came back, I could be transferred back to my store 4586. Now that the time has come for me to transfer, my district manager, Greg Baker, is now saying there was no agreement and that I have to stay at 4123. I have made it clear that I do not want to stay, and I am willing to go to a different store. I believe that he is treating me unfairly and needs to be confronted with this situation. He is going back on his word and I dont appreciate that.

everytime entered it says time limit expired even only 8 hours have passed.
Tried to take the Walgreens Feedback.com sweepstakes. Whether by phone or accessing Walgreensfeedback.com after entering the required information I was told that my time to enter had expired even though only 8 hours had passed. According to the receipt, a person has 72 hours to complete the transaction. The last time I checked 8 hours is still less than 72 hours. My previous visit to visit to Walgreens was worse than the one today. Last time they forgot I was waiting for the rx's to be filed, they seem to have forgotten I was still there even though a pharmacy employee came out the pharmacy door asked what I was doing the pharmacy waiting room. I told them I was waiting for my rx's to be filled and the employee told me they forgot about me. They got my meds together and when I got home I was missing one of the prescriptions. Today I told them I would wait and was actively discouraged from waitingby the employee because it might take forty to fifty minutes. That really doesn't bother me that much because I usually read while I am waiting. No pharmacy is perfect. But, 484ed I do expect the company feedback line to be available.

Since I can no longer reach the website, I guess I'll be shopping CVS, Kroger, and Walmart; since they appear tobe a little more honest and straight-forward. It's a shame that a corporate "giant" has to resort to "GIMMICKS" to attract new customers and lose the loyal ones.
I wireless card
I purchased a $20 i wireless card from Walgreens 8/16/2010 6:24pm. First time I stopped there to purchase my i wireless card. I got home 15 minutes later. I called i wireless, as I have 100s of time before, to load my cell phone but this was the first time I was told the pin number from the i wireless card I just bought had already been redeemed! It was apparently stolen at the point of sale. Walgreens is either irresponsible & guilty of failing to secure their transactions at point of sale or they are purposely stealing. They lost all my family's business. We pulled all of our prescriptions and sent them to another pharmacy. They lost more than the $20 they stole.
charging for mediceine
Run a way from Walgreens Pharmacy very quickly run back to CVS. CVS is one of the best pharmacy who is always looking in to help out their patient. Why and how let me tell you. I just come back from Walgreens Pharmacy located on East Main Street in Meriden, CT. On 8/16/2010 around 4:30 PM I was trying to pick up heart medicine for my husband. The assistant from the pharmacyst told me there is some problem with my insurance and because of it I had to pay cash and get reambased from the insurance company. I asked the assistant does she can give me just 2 pills untill I will resolve this matter with my insurance company. I was told by her after she spoke with the pharmacyst I have to pay $12.00 per pill (the medicine was Plavix) and I know from my previous expirience that the CVS give my husband before pills for the next 3 days free of charge and I was back before the 3 days went by and get my medicine any way. You probably think why I went to the Walgreens if the CVS acrross the street was giving such a good outstanding service I will be honest because I was to unpatient with one of the weekend staff. I got my lesson I just come home and called the CVS from the East Main street and ask them to transfer all my scipts from the Walgreens back to CVS and I will never go back. The all staff from the CVS starting with David Ho who is the manager pharmacyst and all his assistants like : Brian, Carmen, Debbie, Jen and Waleska and the rest of his great staff. Just plese do not go on weekends when Nancy works(she is the PT wekend pharmacyst) she has no clue whats oustanding customer service stands for?She was the main reason I left the CVS but this is another story.
PLEASE Remember the CVS on 839 East Main Street in Meriden, CT is one of the BEST PHARMACY's don't go to Walgreens.
Sincerely,
Ivona Ruszczyk

rude employees, dont care about customers
Went in on august 10, 10 to print out some pictures. I dont usually go to this store but was close to this area and really wanted some pictures. I was there for a bout 45+ minutes selecting, editing and loading my order. I was trying to add some coupons for the prints, a CD, and some collage prints. I have always used coupons when photos are on sale and...

I was at Walgreens in Berwyn, Ill.at Harlem and Cermak shopping, when I finished I brought my items to the register took all the items out of the basket and put the basket next to a register where there was one basket on the floor already, to my surprise the cashier at that register told me to put it back in its place, to which I respond there is one there...

wrong prescription
I dropped off a prescription for Pamelor on 7/13/10 and picked it up the next day. I am to take this medication before bedtime so I did not notice the mistake till late in the evening and realized I was given the wrong medication. They gave me Prozac. I know mistakes can happen so you should really be aware of what you are taking. Lesson learned, check the prescription before leaving pharmacy!!!

I thought this was a food item, no tax
When you set up an item in the system, you have to place a tax class ID on the item. The person who set it up may have put the incorrect tax ID. Human error, mistakes happen.
Here's the phone number to that store: [protected]
Try calling and asking their store manager about it. They might be able to explain New Jersey's tax law to you.
shoplifting and cost there in.
I shop at the wall greens at 44th and broadway near my home because i use a wheelchair to get around. Even though I was struck by a truck at that intersection returing from your store I still shopped there because i felt secure in the store. Efforts were made to stop shoplifting and other crime within the store and pan handlers were asked to leave the parking lot. I felt safe. Of late there seems to have been a change in staff and policy. a blind eye seems to be turned to shoplifters. I know that this cost is passed on to me and other shoppers and I do not appreciate it. The store is staffed by only young ladies many times when I am there and this only attracts crime. the lot is filled with unseemly sorts. No one does anything about it. Our police department hase more improtment things to do than to provice minor security to Wallgreens. I even found a 45 cal slug across the street from the store the other day.
What has happened to the store that I once felt safe in? I will not pay for your lack of security. I will now start shopping at the Family Dollar across the way, atlease then I will not have to cross that busy intersection to pay for shoplifters thefts. I would not feel so bad if you folk were doing something about these problems but you are all but inviting these criminals into your store.
May God touch your hearts and give you wisdom to protect your paying costomers.
I also note that your staff is less happy and content as before. Moral is in sad shape.

they blurted out my total social security number for all to hear
I picked up a prescription on Saturday afternoon [protected]. The pharmacy tech had to call my insurance provider to answer a question. While there were other customers close by within earshot of the techs conversation with the insurance company, she blurted out my total social security number for all to hear. I feel that was totally absurd in this day and age of when we have so much identity theft. Could Walgreens phone system be automated enough that this sensitive information could be punched into the phone via the keypad?
I'm sure everyone there was ready with a pen and paper to get your ssn birthdate address and mothers maiden name so they can steal your identity. Give me a break.
layoffs
Fyi, if you are a pharmacist intern, you do not have a job with walgreens after july. Layoffs are here, there is a surplus of pharmacists in the company, so you better go back to school and find something else to do. It is all about the stock holders. They are not happy and the only way walgreens can improve profit in this economy is to layoff more people. Good thing welfare is out there. Thanks walgreens.

Update: They let me go 2 weeks before my maternity leave was supposed to be up. I found a tech position with an independent pharmacy in a week, and I've never been happier. I hope Walgreens tries to call me back from lay-off. It'll be so satisfying to tell them I've found a more fulfilling position.
SoothingScents: Good luck with that whole, getting corporate to work store level thing. I've been saying that for YEARS. They have absolutely no idea what goes on in the stores. And holy ###. You guys do 850 per day?! Good god. We were only doing about 150 before I left and one of our techs acted like anything over that was the end of the world. I'm glad I got out when I did, even if it wasn't my choice. :P
I'm a pharm tech with the company too and all the company keeps doing is putting more responsibilites on us but not giving us enough help. We don't get breaks at all. Literally having to take bites of our dinner between customers cause there isn't enough help. I'm at a store that does 850 scripts a day and have half the staff. We keep getting emails from the district supervisor that our wait times are up but our flu shot and PCS numbers are down and wanted to know why. They also don't understand why we don't follow the policy of having a tech by the front door trying to sell flu shots. HELLO! We can't handle the work we are doing, how the heck can we handle the extra stuff too. The corp. people need to get into the stores and work some shifts to see what our hell is really like.
I'm a pharm tech with WAG and had to start maternity leave 3 weeks early because they cut our hours down to FOURTY-THREE hours per week to split between 3 techs. Ridiculous.
I'm not surprised that they're going to screw the interns also. I'll be looking at CVS when I'm ready to go back to work.
merchandise
I went into this store location and purchased two items, ice cream and a pair of cheap shoe insoles. When I arrived home I noticed that the insoles were not in the bag. I immediately returned to the store and asked the cashier if I had not forgotten to get the insoles. She called a supervisor? to whom I explained that I had not gotten the insoles ($3.39...

To Anybody at Walgreen’s, If There Is Anyone Who Cares about the Customer: I am going to tell you a storey about a horrible, time consuming and having to deal with employee attitudes that were disrespectful, inconsiderate and even incoherent. The location was the Walgreen’s Drug Store at 19501 Beach Blvd, Huntington Beach, CA. This incident started today at 2:20 PM and lasted until 3:15 PM. When I first set down to write this letter, I was very upset. Them I realized that even though I had wasted almost an hour with this, it had forced me to rethink my shopping and try out a new Drug Store chain in town which turned out to be an amazing experience. One which put back my faith in customer service and care. Two of the employees involved I was not able to get there names. The worst of the two was a Young Oriental Girl; hereafter I will refer to as the YOG. The second person was supposedly a Pharmacist and was also Oriental; hereafter I will refer to as OP. I stopped by the drive up window yesterday to leave a prescription for three different drugs. The YOG informed me that they could not do it for at least two hours. I needed one of them last night, but decided I could wait until today. Next I asked her if she could give me my deductible on one of the drugs, as I had not used it before. The YOG informed me that she did not have time to do that and that my insurance, Blue Cross, would not give out that information if I was pricing it. This seemed like a strange answer to me, but I accepted it, an ordered the drug anyway and hoped when I came back today, there would be somebody different I could ask that question of. I also asked, as I have learned this the hard way, could you at least check and see if you have the drugs in stock. She had no time for this either. I arrived today, at the above indicated time. There were 3 cars ahead of me. It took 30 minutes to service the 3 cars. I even called the pharmacy on my cell phone to ask what the delay was and was told that there were problems with the prescriptions and they were all busy trying to fix them. Interesting that they could spend time on working out what certainly seems like a lack of planning on someone’s part, yet I could not get anyone to help me with pricing yesterday and there was no one in line behind me. When I finally got to the window, I was advised that one of my prescription could only be partially filled and I would have to come back tomorrow for the rest of it. After what I had just gone through, the thought of having to come back and go through this line again was not a desirable solution to your problem. I advised the YOG that I was no longer going to have them fill it and asked for my prescription back. The YOG informed me that she did not have time to look for it and did not seem to know where it even would be located at. She suggested I pull out of the line and go to the rear of it and by that time she my have found it. Can you believe and answer like that. There are now 4 cars behind me. I suggested you start looking for it, instead of standing here making excuses as to why you don’t have the time or know where it is. She became adamant that I pull out of the line. I asked to speak to the manager. I paid my dues to be here at the window and I want service. It should be noted, that there were problems with the prescriptions in two of the cars in front of me, so the YOG said, but those people did not get out of the line and reenter it again. Yet I am being asked too! The OP came over and said they could not find my prescription and wanted me to get out of the line and come in the store. I demanded my prescription and she told if I wanted it I will get of the line and come in the store. She had a smile on her face the whole time; the body language of you will do it my way or the highway. My time in front of the window was about 10 minutes. I pulled out of the line and went to the front of the store to go in. Walking for me is very difficult as I am recovering from a full paralysis of my legs and have to use a walker to get around. It only took about 5 minutes to get into the store and another 5 minutes to get the store manager, a Mr. Michael Van Horn, so his business card says. It took only about 3 minutes to relay my complaint and then I had to listen to another 2 minutes of how sorry he was, and I agree he is pretty sorry. We walked back to the pharmacy and it only took him 30 seconds to get my prescription. Keep in mind he knew nothing of why I was there to see him, which can only mean the two less than desirable people I had todeal with earlier knew where my prescription was all along. The only positive side of this day was that I discovered CVS Pharmacy. I was only in the store for a total time of 13 minutes before I left with my prescriptions filled, and $30.00 gift card for switching my prescription to them. A very sharp young Oriental Man, (whose name I intend to get to write a letter of commendation to CVS), In a matter of about 2 minutes was able to set up my insurance information in his computer and give me the cost of each prescription. He had never heard of any insurance plan refusing to give the cost upfront to a customer. They too were very busy, but more organized than your location. There were only 4 people behind the counter, but unlike the 6 or so at your location, they had purpose, commitment to quality and pride in there workmanship. I only write this letter, as a good business wants to hear from its customers and former customers as to why they no longer will shop there. I intend to also send it to CVS and if YOU TUBE took letters, I would put it on the web.
You Tube and letters funny...but i hear this crap all the time from people who leave CVS and come to Walgreens, the world sucks its the same crap just someplace else. cant forget about the same old same old crying from people.
poor treatment
I purchased an over the counter cvold medication at Walgreens Drug store. I had taken some of the medication. when i noticed that one of the caplets was broken in half and only part of the caplet was in the blister pack. I imeadiatly stopped taking the product andnotified walgreens drug store. A few days later I was contacted by LNK international the Manufacturer i was asked to send thhe pack to them about two weeks later i recieved a letter with a description of the ir inspection process. I feel that I should have at least been compensated for my time and effort and for the postage to send back the caplet.
Walgreens' policy tends to be that they'll take back anything for any reason. You should have just walked it down to the store and spoken to the store manager. I'm sure they would have exchanged it for you, especially if it was just an OTC cold med and you hadn't taken the entire contents of the box yet.
poor customer service
Walgreens is so unprofessional! I had the clerk refuse to help me fing a book light in the store, until the manager came over. Then she offered. I asked why she did not help before he came. She was rude with her reply and stated she would not help me "now" and walked away. He said nothing to her.
Two days later I went to a different Walgreens(surely not the one I was refused service), and something range up the wrong price. I asked if the clerk could check the price and after huffing and puffing about it, she did, and the item was on sale! I don't know about everyone else, but I have noticed a SIGNIFICANT decline in the quality of customer service at Walgreens and do not feel guilty going elsewhere.

i have had, on going for years, a rx filled at this walgreens location. aprox. 170 pills per month. i am in there automated refill system. on 4-10-10 i went to refill this rx, they had no refill ready, & had not one of these pills in there inventory. i was told if i needed this rx filled i would have to go to the next closest walgreens. which happenes to be 20 miles (aprox) one direction away from this location. i could also wait untill monday the 12th & get it filled there. i have to take 9 of these pills per day& don't think i should wait till monday. i feel walgreens is making me be responsible for there inefficiency.they are eager to have my businss & take my money. they promote themselves as a professional & convenient pharmacy to do business with.
when they have a problem like this one, i feel they should be responsible, & do what it takes to correct the issue, not me. i will be going to target or walmart from now on & recommend all how see this do the same.
The 'teenager' is a customer. How would you like it if you went somewhere that teenagers are frequently the customer and the employee stopped helping you in preference of the teenager?
It was rude for you to interrupt and insist you get help immediately. The 'teenagers' money is just as good as your is.
Thanks for replying, when the manager asked why she did not help me the stupid employee said it was because she was helping someone else. well that someone else was a teenager and even though that teenager was first she should have helped me and ignored the teenager. I am an adult. This is why teens learn no respect. When I told her I had a family to feed and she should stop helping the other customer she said to wait my turn. She treated me like I was the child instead of the teenager and I told her I would get her fired, instead of firing her the stupid manager stood up for her. I am going to get both the manager and her fired and the employee from the other store.
i hate walgreen employes because the store so empty they do what dey want
I agree, if you are on the auto refill system they should know what will be needed to have in stock. They should have called the closest pharmacy, Walgreens or not and found the medication for you. My question is, did they bill your insurance company on the auto refill day. This would be fraud to bill for something they do not have.
You're filing a complaint because they ran out of a med? WTH...next time give them a call a few days in advance so they can order some. You're jumping the gun by filing this
no website for feedback survey
Just like everyone else on this list, I'm complaining about Walgreen's Feedback Survey. I tried to find the website www.walgreensfeedback.com, which is listed on the Walgreen's receipt as the place to go online to complete a survey for customer satisfaction and be entered for a monthly drawing for a cash prize. ALAS, no such website exists, and I am too late to do the telephone survey. There used to be a valid website, but now they {Walgreen's} just lie to you. What a scam!
F THERE IS NO FEEDBACK THEN WHY DOES THE SALES SLIP SAY THERE IS AND GIVE YOU THE WEB ADDRESS
I've been to that website a couple time recently. Try clearing your history and cache
