Albertsons bad and slow service

I have been shopping on Albertsons store on Harbor str. for few months and every time I tell to myself that I will never go back. The service is just awful. No matter how busy the store is, they only have two cashiers working and most of the time they are the same people, an old lady and an old man (the lady is always nice) who barely move. Not too mention that the supervisor (or whatever that guy who watches people on the self-checking machines) comes, whenever there is a long annoying line and starts talking to the cashier, ask for $20 bills, whispering behind a very "important" piece of paper, which always has priority as it can't wait. The "stupid" customers should wait in lines and have patience. They simply have no respect for the client. I have witnessed ( it never happen to me) employee addressing to the customers in a rudely manner for couple of times. One time, I was waiting to check out and a couple entered the store. It was quarter to 11 and they were closing at 11. The bag boy yells at them that they are closing. They stopped in the middle of the hall, surprised when the supervisor tells them to go on, moment when the bag boy complains to the supervisor that he wants to go home. It was for numerous times when I had to put my merchandise in the bags while the helpers were 10 feet away gossiping and completely ignoring the cashier's call for help. It was also numerous times when I got home and noticed that some of the food was expired, and not two or three days before, but a month or two. I returned 5 bottles of chocolate milk because they were expired and I found them on the shelf again the next day. I took them, put them on the floor with a note saying "these are expired" and guess what? the next day they were stored again next to the good ones. i went to the manager/ supervisor and he apologized and told sometimes the employee miss the expiration date. I left a note that said EXPIRED! If they miss this, then maybe you should find other people to work there. I bough expired polenta, chicken, orange juice, etc. So, make sure you read the labels when shopping there because the employee "sometimes miss it". They have these campaigns all the time. I think I donated about $20 when one day I answered "No!" to the question "Would you like to donate a dollar?". More exactly I said : "I have already donated." The cashier lady looked at me like I was the worst person in the world. I asked whether there was a problem and she said embarrassed that there was no problem. I think this is pure beginning. I mean, if I want to donate, which I do often times because I feel I want too, then just let it be my decision. Why do you have to ask me every time, when it is more than obvious you have a campaign as the whole fricking store is covered in hearts with Johny's, Pitzy's, Mitzy's and the neighbor's dog names on them.
Ok, I can go on and on about this. I apologize for being this long, I just needed to vent.

Albertsons seems like albertsons doesn't want me shopping there

I shop at the albertson on 720 3rd ave. in Chula Vista, Ca. store #is:06757. The store is now remodeled. Looks nice. Too bad you eliminated some products(liquid simmering incense annd stick incense) I now have to make a trip further out to K-Mart to finish my shopping. I was at albertsons yesterday aand wanted to buy an already cooked meat loaf. I couldn, t foer third time in a couple of weeks. 10:30 A.M. Had to go to yet another store Von's. No problem. I would rather do all my shopping at albertsons like I used to be able to. Gee, too bad things had to dissapear just to get anice looking store. These aren't the only things. Seems like albertsons doesn't want me shopping there.

I shopped there about a month ago and bought about 30$ worth of fruits and vegies. Within two days they were all rotten. E-mail the company, the manager called and made it all better. So I thought I'll give them another chance. So I bought a medium size container of strawberry's. The whole top layer were beautiful but the fruit that was not on top were...

Albertsons unnecessary rudeness

I was using the self checkout and scanning my items as fast as possible. There was an annoying woman with her daughter apparently waiting specifically on me (even though there was 3 other machines!). I had used a basket and not a cart and did not want the basket to bother the next person so I put it to the other side of the machine. It was not in anyone's walking space. Out of nowhere the Albertsons employee monitoring the self checkout swoops in on me, grabs the basket with one hand, and with the other hand yanks out my coupon and then my receipt and stuffs them into my grocery bag! Then she follows that with "Is that all you bought?" and before I can respond storms back to her spot. Bewildered I grab my change and inch away from the machine and just as I pass the evil employee (as she gives me dirty looks) the annoying woman screams at me that I've forgotten my cash change and waves it around the air like she's fanning herself with it. The employee rushes over to the annoying woman, practically knocking me over, and makes a grab for it. If I hadn't been on her tail she probably would have pocketted it! Good grief.

Albertsons reverse racism is alive and well in murphy texas! no lunch! no restroom break?

Well, I am still hungry at the grocery store! Two years later, I am still having to ask to go to lunch like a "small child". Now, I have to "check in" with my black female boss before I can start the day... I am a 39 year old white male, (working on a Master's Degree) who is a victim of reverse racism.

As a manager of the store, it is my responisibility to report "theft" whether it is happening inside or outside the store. Yesterday, I worked a 9hr. day with NO LUNCH BREAK due to the fact that I was being punished by my boss because we lost three employee's due to theft, and they were terminated. I was told to work in this department the rest of the day, and asked on numerous times if I could grab something to eat... NO LUNCH FOR ME!

This is just another form of punishement for being born white... Now, I have to check in, ask to go to lunch, guess when my days off are most of the time, and now I have to guess if I am going to be able to eat! One employee was told by her that she was NOT ALLOWED TO GO TO THE BATHROOM! We are all adults, and now this has moved from ridiculous to illegal!

If this was happening to her (BLACK) ###, you can bet that something would be getting done to prevent this, however, since this is happening to "us WHITE folk" I guess we just have to wait and take this abuse until someone does something drastic, or someone who reads this can make a difference!

Will someone please tell the store director here that slavery is dead and over! Then maybe we can get someone in this store that can run a successful store without racism and without a threatening work environment!

I shop in that store all the time and I know who you are. Thank the Lord she is taking your ### to task. You are as rude, nasty and ignorant in the store as you are on this message board. How you made it a racist thing is beyond me. If you were professional you would have taken it to HR or the labor board and not making your store look even worse. This behavior is exactly why long time customers cant stand to come in the store anymore.

Riddle me this when do you think you will ever have a job that you do not have to check in or tell someone you are going to lunch or break especially in a grocery store. Sounds to me you are getting called on your behavior finally and again thank god the higher ups are on to your behavior. It is about time.

This store has a redbox for DVD rentals. The customer service is substandard, though. I was recently treatly rudely when trying to use a raincheck for a sale item they were out of in Feb.2010. So now it's March 2010 and I try to buy the item that is now in stock when I'm in there to rent a DVD anyway, and the checker says my raincheck was issued too long...

Albertsons beware and stay away

I can understand the frustration of bad customer service but when management and the owners main focused is to cut labor that means less help and more WORK LOAD for all the emlpoyees that are considered full time, then I hope you can understand why it almost always seemed like you are a bother.

When you worry that you get yelled at the next day for not doing your job because you spend all of your day pointing products for customers, either way, the company just makes you feel bad about yourself and so does the customer.

The management tells you drop everything that you are doing for every customer but they take away all the help so you can ran your department smoothly - the company is itself is a NAZI operated business. Because of the economy you are forced to keep a job that makes you feel worthless no matter how hard you work everyday, at the end of the day, you don't get BREAKS and no COMPLIMENTS.

I returned bakery cookies because they were raw, Then had to go back to return the sour milk I purchased the same day. They have the worse quality food of all the grocery store chains. I will never go back because this is not the first time I've been unhappy with the quality.

The store director does not get his bonus if the store goes over the budgeted workable hours (often decreased when sales are low), therefore, cutting employee hours is necessary for said directors to achieve that bonus.
I don't think they care that the employee that loses hours has a family that is depending on that "full-time" paycheck every week.
Too many times have I gone home exhausted after my shift, because I have to do the work of three people. Cut and tray the meat, wrap the meat, put the meat out, refresh the counter, break the butcher block, unload the truck and put out the ready-to-eat meals and fill the chicken set, grind more hamburger, cut more sale items, take care of the customer who wants a special cut of meat (which is not the problem)... And then clean up the meat room and go home so I can do it all over again tomorrow night.
As long as the work is being done, and I don't go over my scheduled hours, I won't get written up. If I go over my time, I'm called into the office (next time might be my last).
But it doesn't stop there. They won't fire you. No, because then, you could collect unemployment. Instead, they either take you off the schedule or give you five to eight hours a week, just to cover their butts.
Take my advice. Don't go to work for this company. I do it because I have time vested in the company and I'm a workaholic.

Albertsons poor service and lack of respect

The store is clean, the prices o.k...but the service is sooooo Bad. Employees have no respect to customers, most of the time busy gossiping and joking about customers...Have no respect for differences or anyone, and show no mercy to moms. Seems that they are not trained or have no leader to direct them..even managers having the same values and encouraging that. Employees are not in a good level, or trusty to be with customers. Poor poor store, not recomended to anyone. I'm going to move to a different locations, because i can't handle these people anymore.

Albertsons simply terrible

I was being checked out by a cashier named Vanessa at store #6523 in Rancho Cucamonga, CA who made several nasty comments when I pulled out my coupons. I didn't have a large number of coupons and I handed them to her neatly. She said, " You shouldn't be able to use that many coupons because that would be like getting the items free" I said I only have 5 coupons plus 3 Catalinas that printed out on a previous purchase. I paid for my items and when I got to my car I decided to go back and get some diapers. I then went back and purchased 3 packs of diapers and used 3 manufacture coupons, she then called the manager up to the check stand and asked if I could use the coupons, he looked perplexed and said of course. By this time I had enough of her comments and asked the manager if they accept coupons, and he said that they did and there was no problem using coupons. I said o.k because if it were a problem, then I would take my business elsewhere. There are 5 other stores within a 2 mile radius that I could go to and I chose to give my business to Albertsons. Not only did she embarass me in a line of people, but she definately makes me think twice about shopping in a store that makes customers feel like they are doing you a favor by accepting manufacturer coupons. I know that stores get re-imbursed for coupons at face value plus an 8cent handling charge, so why in an economy like this where businesses are struggling and people are trying to cut back where ever possible would you have checkers like Vanessa who treat paying customers like myself so disrespectfully? I wish I could e-mail the store director, Mike Wheeler, myself but don't have his information. I will also be sending a copy of this e-mail to Albertsons President, Lawrence Johnston and CEO Robert Miller. I am just appalled and hope that Albertsons educates their checker, this one in particular on the basics of customer service.

Albertsons scam and lies

I shop at my local Albertsons often. Fri morning I went through their self check out. I was using two of their coupons on the paper for potatoes and cheese. I scanned the first one for the potatoes, and only got credit off one bag, was not able to scan a 2nd time because the machine kept telling me to insert coupon. Where you insert coupon, there is a note stating we need to give the coupons to the cashier. So I finish my order and give the cashier my coupons and mention I received credit for one bag of potatoes already. Cashier tells me to slide my debit card. So I do, and then ask if she is crediting my coupon savings of $5.49 to the debit. She said she is, and I asked how long before it shows up. She said instantly. Well it isn't instantly. I came home later that day and checked my account, no debit of my coupon savings, not to mention their bank also is holding $1.00. I called customer service, they gave me the name of the book keeper. I called and spoke with her and she said, usually it is in minutes. Then she said we have the option of debit or cash. I told her there was no option given to me. She said if it is not in there Monday to let her know. I just called and there is not a pending of my coupon savings at all, and my $1.00 is still being held. I am not happy! The option should have been given to me, it wasn't. Now MY money is being held, plus not being put in my account yet, therefore, feel like I have been ripped off a little bit, because until I get that savings in coupons, I have paid full price. This benefits Albertsons, because every day they hold my money a little longer, they get a little more interest on it. We are in a recession people, that is why I am so upset. I will not shop with them anymore after this. If you can't trust your neighborhood grocery store.

I work self checkout at Albertson's and there is plenty that i would like to say about your complaint. But I will limit myself.
First off, you should not of slid your card until you saw her credit your bill at the register.. If she wanted to do it after you paid for the bill, then she should of manually refunded your saving onto the card. This would of been 2 seperate transactions. Second.. you should of pointed it out immediately to the cashier when the machine was telling you to insert the coupon. The cashier has complete control over that machine. She can make her STOP telling you to insert the coupons..
Lastly. your just as much responsable for geting "riped" off.. you didnt scan the coupon twice. you didnt have to insert the coupon just because a machine told you to. What was the worst that would of happened if you would of held it in your hand.. would the machine kept your potatoes... come on people...self checkout is CRAZY for the attendant...people using it who DONT HAVE A CLUE HOW.. its called self checkout...

Albertsons frustrating experience

I am a regular customer in the Tyler Store. My experience in this particular store is always very frustrating due to sales items being correct per the add. The Managers are usually very helpful and listen to my concerns. However, Customer Service on the front is very rude. These employees act like my concerns are interrupting them from their conversing among one another, and their eating behind the counter. I was needing to cash out a voucher. and was told, "the employees that work back here can not service you and are not even here. It was 1 minute until opening, and 5 minutes later the same two employees came back and cashed my voucher. What kind of customer service is that? What is one minute until opening? I feel like they could have handled my needs then ; not 6 minutes later. One lady in particular always has a very unfriendly expression on her face when she is approached to handle my concerns. I do however have a wonderful and very friendly experience at the check out; two checkers in particular are always there, and always very friendly... YOU need more like them.

Albertsons bad behavior

Albertsons has been luring me into the store for 3 days with a daily "buy one get two free" coupon offer. Their coupon on shrimp was only good today, so last night when I was at the store I checked out the price of the shrimp: $11.98 for a bag. That would be a good deal. Today, when I went back to the store to buy the shrimp, the price tag from last night was missing & the bag of shrimp rang up at $14.98. So buy one get two free is no longer a great deal. Shame on you Albertsons! Bad behavior!

Albertsons rediculous company policy

Refused to sell beer to a 29 year old who shops there twice a week since 4 years and showed valid ID. Reason: Was accomponied by 2 family members (both in their late 20s also!) which were from Europe and didn't have a FL DL.
Nevermind, they don't even drink and they weren't the ones buying the beer. Supposably this is Albertsons company policy.

Albertsons is well known for violating store policy as with thier "no touch" policy when stopping shoplifters. I guess it depends on who you sleepimg with and how far up on the chain you are so that you will know if you can break store policy or not cuz the ones in odessa texas get to break store policy while the ones we see on t.v. do not

Albertsons manager's out of line!!

I was in your north college Albertson's in Fort Collins Co just picking up a few items on my way home from a hard day's work. I stopped at the Deli and tryed to order some lunch meat. The Deli manager "Bev" was going off on her employee's on how they are not allowed to take a break or lunch until after 7 PM. It was shortly after 3 PM. Are you really so hard for money that you dont allow your employees to have breaks? I also do not understand how you can keep help. I would never allow an employer to talk to me that way. Do you think that because someone works for you that makes them crap? I talked to a manager up front "Dawn" and complained about the treatment in the Deli Department. She said she would address it with Bob the store Manager. I was in again and "bev" the Deli manager was again publically yelling at her employees' I will be telling my friends and coworkers NOT to shop there. I don't care to hear about private ILLEGAL acts after a hard days work. I would also like to know why she does not have to wear a hat, hairnet or gloves while waiting on customers.

Albertsons poor service

I had a checker make an error on my grocery order. I only discovered the error after she completed the transaction. I ask for a correction of the error and was told I would have to go stand in line at the customer service counter; she did not have the authority to correct it. I ask for a manager, which she called (three times) and I stood there for at least 15 minutes with no manager ever coming to the check stand. I was furious! I stood in the line at the customer service counter and got my money refunded. I was very rude to the young man at the counter and he asked if I'd like to speak to a manager. Still no manager in site! I was so angy over something that should have been handled without incident. I don't think I can ever go in an Albertsons store again.
Hey Albertsons - you save lots of money by by not paying your employees and management enought to give a ###!

Obviously, they tried to get a manager to talk with you and handle the situation. The manager could've been handling someone else's problem and was not able to get to you (they have a whole store full of customers to deal with you know). The fact that they were trying should've been enough for you plus the fact that you were helped and got your money back; though it is weird that they weren't able to find someone to talk to you. Your being rude to the person at customer service seems like it was completely unjustified as they helped you get your money back and again offered to find a manager to talk to you.

Plus checkers, like everyone else in the world (except for you obviously), make mistakes; it happens. It is the job of the checker to help you with your transactions as quickly as possible so they can help the next customer. If they had to help fix every mistake they made, people would be waiting a lot longer (which you can't handle apparently), which they don't want to have to put the customers through. You shouldn't base the service of the entire store off of one bad incident. It's not like the people were ignoring you or treating you rudely; if anything, you shouldn't be allowed to talk to people until you get an attitude adjustment and learn to look at things differently.

OH MY GOD ARE YOU SERRIOUS?

Get off of your high horse and stop being a ### to people. I am sure your just so perfect that you can walk on water and you never ever make a mistake, but the rest of the %99.[protected] of the population does. And oh no, you have to go to a customer service desk to get the refund or correction made, thats not to "out in left field" However, to have to wait that long for a manager, thats not to cool, but it still gives you no reason to be so rude to people. I am more then sure that Albertsons is better off without you. Do you have online grocery ordering in your state? If you do, you should use that and just be decent enough to keep your bitter ### in your house and not give people more problems then anyone needs.

Albertsons hungry at the grocery store

Hungry at the grocery store!

I am 39 years old and work at a local grocery store. For the 9 months, I have to work 9-10 days in a row until I receive (1) day off...
I have to ask if I can go to lunch (like a small child), and I have to guess when my day off is, because I am not provided a schedule until the last minute. When I try and look for it in the computer, it is encrypted so it can't be opened, or not there at all...

You would think that I might be a cart boy or floor sweeper, however I am a member of the management team at this store!? I have the pleasure of watching my manager of the department: enjoy (2) days off each week (average), leave early (and the director thinks he works his full schedule), and makes a bonus off of the work of his employees who do most of the work.

I have the pleasure of balancing a family around the (1) day off I receive every two weeks, if I am lucky... I have to be hungry at the grocery store until I am given "permission" to go to lunch... I have to stay late at the last minute, and work a 12 hr. day when management knows in advance of a change of the schedule and doesn't bother to tell me...

***I tried using the corporate hotline, however it has been over a week, and I haven't even received a phone call... However, if I was the black woman, and she were the white man, this would probably make the newspapers and get some respect/attention... ***

P.S. Yes, ontop of all of this, I have to put on a happy face for each customer who comes into the store!

At least you are fortunate enough to have a job. There are people who would be content with the hours you are complaining about. And don't even discuss race. That is just tasteless.

Albertsons no reno store

Brought gift cards on line for $150.00 as gift for son in Reno Nv and it showed on the website store was at 10500 N Mc Carran Reno. He received the cards and went to the address listed on the website and the store was not an Albertsons, but like I said showed on the website it was. He needed the groceries and I am very upset that you would sell gift cards knowing no stores were there. By the way the store is still listed on the website today. Now he must send the cards back to me and I believe I should either be able to get a refund for them or some sort of credit. This was entirely uncalled for. I called the toll free number and they said they would send you an email but I have not received any response. Please contact me about this.

Albertsons check denial

My wife and I have shopped Albertson for over 3 years. We bought app. $100.00 worth of food and when we checked out, found my check had been denied. All the groceries that had already been bagged had to be returened. It was the most embarrasing moment of my life.

With a denied check the cashier should have given you a Certegy piece of paper (almost like a business card). We have no control over if a check is accepted or denied. And it isn't your fault nor the cashiers and it happens more often than not.
It can be denied because the bank didn't agree to it. Or there wasn't an established account for the checks, this usually happens if you write one or two checks total. Or if you Drivers license as been changed. It could also have been declined if you asked for money over the allowed amount. There are many reasons it could have been declined and unfortunately the computer doesn't tell us. It just declines it. I work in Customer Service and trust me, it does happen a lot or a person forgot their card or the card was declined. The workers will take care of it, and if they are seasoned workers like myself (11 years), they shouldn't bat an eye but just do their job. At least once a week we have to return a full cart of stuff. Don't worry about it, it's not your fault nor Albertsons fault

Yesterday I bought 6 ears of sweet corn at Albertson's Food Store in Cut Bank, Mt. I did not tear the husks off before buying them, but when i did at home I found that every one of them was rotten! Underneath the husks were large areas of kernels that were gooey, pink, with small black spots. They were also way over mature with very large kernels. Cut off all the bad areas and cooked a few. They were tasteless, chewy and unfit for human food. We have no choice. Albertson's is the only food store we have here.

I went to albertsons to cash a check and upon doing so the cashier gave me a slip of paper telling me that I was on this certegy system, after several attempts of trying to contact these people by telephone I was never able to reach anyone, I have never been nor will I ever write any bad checks so this system is bogus even though I can't recall the company...
