wrongful termination
There is a good friend of mine that got terminated recently because of some trumped up allegations of him being abusive to a customer. My friend is one of the most kind hearted gentle people I know and he would never be abusive to anybody. He does have a disability being a diabetic and at times it can cloud his judgment. If he forgets to take his meds and his sugar level drops really low, there's times he may do or say something without realizing it and you want to let him go because of it. I won't mention his name or which store he worked at but I hope justice is done. Everybody deserves a second chance.
all products or lack thereof.
Covington, IN. How do I say this nicely? I live next door to this store. Shelves are always empty. Go in with a small 5-6 item list, lucky to come out with 1 item. Why don't you fire all employees, empty store(shouldn't be hard mostly empty already), burn it down, and start over. And that is me being nice. This problem has continued for 3+yrs. I can find 3 other stores within 30 miles that do NOT seem to have this same problem. Thoroughly disgusted with DGCORP.
You do realize if that DG burns down that your house would likely catch fire too. JS.
racially profiled
So I came to you guys store as
I always have since moving over here
May have been the first time
With her working or not period
I came there for the deals on dog food
Period to save money there
Just bought a fan like
Two weeks prior anyway
Yesterday August 7th 2018
Around like to think 10ish AM
I walked in in search of the dog food aisle and I found it
Still haven't figured out where everything is seeing as haven't been there as much YET So
I get to then dog food aisle and
I try to be a smart shopper so I scan up and down to see the deals
Aside from price the size at which it comes out and
I'm looking and notice someone down at the other end of the store same aisle just staring so
I look and look away and look again she continues to just stare so
I laugh thinking In my head
Never been in this situation and knowing that her racial tensions going on that this might be one of them so I ask what are you staring at and she proceeds to say You and I laugh asking why
You think I'm stealing
she SAYS YES I DO
So I'm just like wow
Trying to go back to what I was doing but couldn't keep a clear focus due to what had just transpired
Decided to not to buy
The dog food because that to me would supper some I don't approve of so
As I make my way out
Searching through
Other aisles
SHe pops back up again and
Stares some more so I ask
Why do you think I'm stealing and
She said LOOK HOW YOU DRESS And
I said wow that is racist
This is something people
Now a days would record but
I'm not after none of that
Just disgusted
Mind you just came from
StVincet DePaul
Was wearing some cargo pants and like little bummy jacket
Due to the rain
Hair lil fuzzy was going to take it out so as I leave out
I ask for her name
She tells me "cottie" yours and
I ask again thinking maybe just making it up also wasn't to come we first time she repeated the same line
And after I asked
How does she spell it
And didn't ask for my name
That time so
I said as I walked out
You can look at the damn cameras to see if I'm stealing
I decided to go higher up thinking just at the store wouldn't be enough
Sure things wouldn't change so yes this is me trying to make
A stand
customer service
The Dollar General in Morristown Indiana constantly closes early. On more than one occasion I have gone to Dollar General long before 10pm and they were already closed. Last night they closed by 9:30pm because the employees "wanted to go home early." You never know how late the store will actually be open. The manager is rude and always complaining about working there.
To you customers that keep complaining. You better not do it at my store. I had an issue with a customer. I the LP that they were stealing. I had to place batteries in their bag myself to make them look guilty. The best part of all of this was I got a gift card for catching the thief.
Its called being short staffed and working to death. Im pregnant and have to work more than 40 hrs a week bc our town is small and everyone would rather work at factories. You people have no idea how overworked we are but still cant help but complain over an hr to 30 mins of closing early.
unethical behavior
On Tuesday August 7th 2018 at 8:45 PM at me and my husband went to this store O3016 Howland Blvd.Deltona, FL 32725 . The Manager was very rude and uncooperative . The cashier was having trouble with the DG Coupons she call him and told she has been having issues before with the coupons He came and told us that it was nothing he can do about it . He di not even check or tried to assist us or the cashier therefore we left without the merchandise that it was more than 50. 00 Dollars. Very disappointment as we are new costumers just recently moved
clutter and uncleanliness in store!
I live in a small town in Chestertown NY 12817 where they have just built a dollar general store within the last year or so. I visit the store once or twice a week to get necessity's. The past two months in the store it has been messy and cluttered. They have stocking carts with boxes and such at the end of isle. This is all the time not just here and there. It is unsafe and a hazzarde to customers. I have mentioned it to employee's quiet a few times and nothing ever changes. Also the store in unkept, there are things out of place, unstocked, and kinda thrown anywhere. I am complaining because I'm trying to help this location. I enjoy your products and was so excited to have this dollar general come to our location but I do hope with moving forward things improve. Thank you for taking the time.
poor management and wrongful termination
I do not like people that bully, intimidate or descriminate, especially in a work or school environment.
Dollar General on Swan Lake Rd in Bossier city, Louisiana has a manager, and district manager that are very unprofessional, descriminate you, hostile and generally disgusting.
People don't always get along and instead of completing a transfer that was already requested and almost completed, the store manager chose to become hostile over a period of 2 weeks, involve employees in those hostilities, attempted to falsify paperwork to hurt the employee, and with Paul, the district manager, blocked the transfer and ended up firing the employee.
There are many more details however, this store on Swan Lake will not survive if they continue in their current management. The turn over rate is incredible, approximately 10 people in a months time, an assistant manager that left due to the same victimization, and customers (friends and parents of my soccer family) complaining about service, products and cleanliness.
The manager and district manager do not need to lose their jobs, rather be retrained and held accountable by their company and the community they serve.
No one should be forced to be work in a hostile work environment (hence military should be respected as they must), be descriminated against, or have a manager ignore health and safety risk reporting.
I agree also. I know of several Dollar General store managers and the District Manager was so hateful, arrogant and disrespectful to not only them but other employees also that DG has lost a lot of good employees and customers.
live animals in the store
They have cats walking around in the store and They let people have small dogs in the shopping cart and they are not service dogs this is putting hair on food and stuff you buy from this store this I have just see at this dollar general store 5087 w us highway 90 Lake city fl 32055 and I have been in other dollar stores and have not seen this I hope this will be fixed
manager shelie king
i think you should look in the manager of the Tipton Iowa store she is very rude I also know she is helping her self to a lot of products in this store if there is something she wants to purchase she will hold it in her office till it pennys out then she gets it for free. I went to her garage sale she had lots of products from her store from purses to shampoo. just thought you should be aware of what she is doing
Excuse me i paid for those purses years ago. And i dont hold [censored] in my office til they go a penny. And if I'm so rude then dont come back to my store.
You're pretty dumb. You must work at a DG to know if something pennies out. And if she's paying a penny per item, she's not getting it for free. JS.
cleanliness/clutter
I used to shop at Dollar General all of the time, but I stopped because the store has became very dirty. The floor is disgustingly dirty. The products are always out of order. The aisles are always cluttered with huge delivery boxes and items that has fallen from the shelves. The parking lot needs sweeping and the trash cans are over flowing must of the time. There is never enough cashier. The store really needs a lot of Tender Loving Care. Please handle this matter.
Same situation in Covington, Indiana
all of their canned foods
Recently I bought a jar of Nutella from a dollar general up the street from my house and I didn't think to look at the expiration date until after having a taste of it. The Nutella expired last year of August 17th. I think this is a problem because it's unhealthy and absolutely disgusting. I'm sure that all their other products, whether it be canned, jarred, or boxed, are all expired as well.
This is the address: 3938 N Illinois St, Indianapolis, IN 46208
employees
You need to check on this store Dollar General Beaver Ohio. All the employees are rude with exception of one Violet. You have one working there the very short lady that never smiles and never has anything good to say and she that treats people very rude when using a food card. After reading all these other complaints I doubt anything will be done but I did get it off my chest I guess.
manager
My husband went to our near DG store # [protected] Hwy 701 N Elizabethtown, Northcarolina 28337 with my daughter to go see if he can catch the Glitch of the Dog food but it was gone . So he walked out of DG to his car and the manager chases him telling him of where he put the ear buds at, his pocket? To put them back ! He said excuse me ma'am what are you talking about ? (My daughter had grabbed a pair of ear buds to pay if they found the dog food deal ) He said we put them back, you have cameras check, And if i would steal something certainly wouldnt be for $3 ear buds "my daughter said no we put them back and walked inside the store to show her where they put at and the lady was Racial and rude and even said "we dont know with your kind " with a attitude!
As a Former Manager myself i don't think thats a Way to treat a customer, and of course not when there are small children's around. I think there was a better way to address the situation. I don't think that was the way to come at us WITHOUT PROOF OR ATLEAST SHOULD HAVE MADE SURE ABOUT HER ACCUSATIONS and it is unacceptable for RACIAL CALLING.
How did i pull out the racist card? when she was the one that said "YOU NEVER KNOW WITH YOUR KIND" What was that suppose to mean? Isn't that being racial? Or am i wrong?
What you mean i played the race card? Wusnt she the racist when she said " YOUR KIND"? Or am i wrong?
merchandise
i am complaining about the dollar general in toomsuba, ms. it is the most disorganized D.G. I have ever been in. hardly anything gets put out, they have baskets piled with all kinds of goods. the isles are cluttered so you can't walk thru, they have plenty of products, but it doesn't get put on shelves. the staff has a big turnover, it seems whenever they get someone that actually gets things done, they never last. I was there 2 days ago and one of the guys was outside on his ph. the other was standing behind the counter. I live here and was so happy to get this store, but I can never find what I need.
debit card machine/store issues
Your store on Washington Avenue/40th Street In Holland, Michigan ALWAYS has their debit/credit machine inactive.
I fear that with cash only transactions there might be some cash theft by employees going on at that store.
This past weekend I also observed one of your employees kissing their significant other near the entrance while the employee was working behind the counter.
The store at times in the past has also been closed and doors locked during regular business hours with a sign in the window stating that they were closed due to "unforeseen circumstances".
Not sure what's going on at this location but please look into it as you are losing customers each time these incidents occur.
Thank You.
violent and disrespectful worker
On Sat Aug, 4 I went into your store number #01801 around 9:30 p.m. a black female worker followed me and my husband around the store. When I asked why we were being followed because we didnt have anything she became loud violent and disrectpectful she tried to kick us out the store and told the other worker to not check us out all the other customers where staring and looking at her as she went back and forward with me when I told her I was gone report her to corporate and the general manager she went on yelling she will call herself and refused to give me her name I do apologize for the inconvenience but I know that is not a person we want working in our community.
On August 1, 2018 - I visited Dollar General in Grayville IL on Route 1...
I explined the situation that I travel through the area about once a year. In fact, my last purchase was Sept, 2017 for 4 separate items of sports wear. Once arriving home to Indianapolis IN, I noticed the cashier failed to remove one of the "ink security devices" from my shirt. However, all other original DG discriptions/inventory tags were still attched to the garment on Aug 1, 2018.
The manager of the store keep insisting it was against their policy to remove anything without a receipt...
I accepteed this as their policy - however, I explained since I only frequent the area once a year could she please remove the device so I could wear my garment...Immediately, she shoved the garment back to me and said,
"she did not have to remove anything...and she did not have to wait on me" ! ...
By this time, I became so angered I grabbed my shirt and hit the counter and "screemed"...because that clerk refuse to:
1.) treat me as a customer with respect...as the customer is always right
2.) she also talked to me like I was a low life person ...and in front of my grandson
By this time my sister entered th store for her peronsal shopping...
then all of a sudden ... the manager told us (2 adults and 1 minor) to get out of the store...and she was calling the police...
I informed her I would be calling their corporate office to report her for her "nasty attitude toward me as a customer"
...as a matter of fact, I never asked for a refund of any sort ... I only requested her to remove the ink tag...because of their failure/oversight at time of my purchase.
In summary, This is America...and we will no longer tolorate this type of behavior ...
from the public, private citizens or total strangers!
Dollar General please review your Customer Service Policy...and train/sensitivity classes/workshops for your staff on how to treat people ... for we are a diversed society and this attitude will no longer be tolerated !
Thank you,
Angry customer traveling through Grayville Illinois...
waa waa waa stop crying like a little 2 year old just because you didn't get your way. Without a receipt, how did they actually know you bought that shirt.
P.S. Customers aren't always right!
That's part of their job. If you don't like it, shop elsewhere.
cashier named mikyla
Sorriest employee I've ever seen in there. So lazy she wouldn't even put my bleach in a bag. Last time it was a complete put out for her to walk 6 feet and get cigarettes out of the storage container and heaven forbid you ask her to check the top of it for your brand Incase they're out on the storage containers shelf. Yesterday it was her being mad bc she had to check people out. Why in the hell are you working there if you get mad you have to check people out? Customer service from her is awful. Find a new replacement before you lose your customers to Family Dollar across the street.
...
As a dollar general employee were trained not to bag bulk items or items with handles. You seem to be the lazy one if you cant even use the handle on the bleach which is better than the bag since they often break. And losing a customer like you seems better for her since you sound like you act like this often to people.
horrible manager
Store # 482 in lawrenceville Illinois is the absolute worse! This is the 2nd time I've came in and been treated like crap by the manager! Today there were signs all over about bottle mtdew on sale so I grabbed 10. Well the sale didn't come off so she checked and said actually it ended yesterday. So I told her that's ok but dang next time the signs should be taken down and she flipped and started yelling at me while my kids were there about how horrible her morning was and how she just do t have time to do that. It was so rude and embarrassing I'm never going back. Judging by the reviews this lady is a big problem at this store. Something should be done about this.
Somebody from corporate signs her paycheck. Not you. So she doesn't have to do what you tell her.
trashy manager/store/ and employees.
The Dollar General store @ 615 W.2nd Ave is stocked to the ceiling with boxes. I almost fall every time I go in there because stock is not put away. I am partially blind, and if I DO FALL, you're going to have a whole new set of problems. The manager Tina does nothing. Nothing but walk around, smack gum, and talk like trash. She's COMPLETELY unprofessional She never says hello or thank you. She seems completely put out by even being there. I can't even walk around the store without her following me with her hands in her hips. THIS IS A TASHY STORE WITH TRASHY EMPLOYYEES. DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. Let her accuse me of something like stealing, when I know damn good and well I wouldn't. I will sue.
Sounds like you're planning on staging a fall. You won't get anything sadly waa waa
loose cans of alpo dog food.
My husband is a good Christian hearted man that loves to shop at DG. He is 83 years old and we shop @ DG, Where ever we R. In Valdosta, Naylor, Waycross, Homerville, Blackshear & Patterson, Ga. My point is we give DG a lot of our Sr. $$$$. We love to shop at DG. This store that I am complaining about is the Store on 1902 S. Georgia Parkway W. - Waycross, Ga.
My husband ALWAYS BUY OUR PET, BLAKE'S FEED, IN DG in Waycross, Ga. Sometimes in Homerville, Ga.
He went today to buy the reg. 10 cans of Alpo Dog Food with the Gravy. He got up to the register to pay for the dog food & a loaf of Bread and they REFUSED TO SELL HIM THE 10 LOOSE CANS OF DOG FEED! WE HAVE BOUGHT IT loose cause we like the kind that has the gravy and it is easy to mix with a half scoop of dry dog feed for our pet. They refused to sell my husband the cans he has selected and made him go back and buy a "6-pack" that was wrapped all together! My husband was so aggravated when he got in the car..We can afford to buy our own food and we buy for our pet. but, My husband said after today, he was going to Family Dollar and take his business. The 6 pack that he got was more expensive that the loose cans he always buys. He buys 10 at the time because we lives 20 miles away from Waycross and 12 miles away from Homerville. We are so upset about this. We have looked in DG for the DG brand of Rice Krispies and have yet to find them in our local Waycross Store. Finally found some in the Naylor DG store. We R upset with Dollar General!
