digital coupons
I go to your store daily. And spend alot of money at least 58 Everytime I come in. I go to use YOUR digital coupons. And they don't work or your employees tell me I don't have it in coupons. When clearly I do. I'm done with your store. Becides everyone I've been is is nasty. With the money I spend there you can afford to have someone come in and clean it and do the floors. I'll just go to family Dollar or Walmart at least they honor there coupons.
store condition
The photos tell the story. I visited this store on March 21, 2018. I feel really sorry for the employees trying to work in this dump, you can't even move in this place. It looks like a tornado ripped through here. It's been going down hill for a few months, I was hoping it would get better. I'm taking my money to the Family Dollar down the street, it's immaculate!

register fails to print a receipt.
Dollar General #09717, 420 McNulty St, Blythewood, SC 29016
For the past several months, one of the two registers (used regularly) prints an incomplete receipt. I have a serious problem with this. Thank God, I haven't had the need to return anything back but how could I if the items purchased could barely be made out on the receipt. Only thing listed is the price, not the description of the item. I've brought this concern up several times and was told that it has been submitted up through corporate. So now, it's been almost 4mths and still dealing with this issue is not only an inconvenience but poor customer service. I ask that this matter is resolved to prevent any future altercation from any customer in the event an item is returned or want to obtain a cash refund.
lance toastchee ched crackers
I bought and ate some crackers at your new store on 4595 S. Military Trail, Lake Worth, FL and I got sick after eating them. They need to be checked out to make sure they are good. I was dizzy and threw up. Had to go home for work. I could have had food poisoning. Luckily I only ate one package. I kept one sample and through the rest away.

12AM Meeting with district manager and Tammy( store manager 12176) to discuss why I was force to re-sign. All three of us were in the same room for the meeting. I asked the first question, did you want to terminate me? He said, no, I briefly talked to Tammy about the situation. I asked, why am I being forced to re-sign? Tammy gave me three options, which was be terminated, re-sign or transfer. He says, lets back up and ask Tammy what happened. She says, I don't recover well. I spend to much time in the office. He turns to me and I tell him I do recover and that do what she asks of me. I tell him when me and another cashier is all I have, and the store gets busy. I can't recover the whole store by myself.
I have told Tammy that it is getting busier and if she could have someone stay until seven would help out a lot. He says, she might not have the hours to give. I tell him I don't understand, day shift has more than three people most of the time. I can understand on truck days but night shift needs help too. He says, that's how it is at Dollar General. She may not have the hours to give for that shift. I say, I don't understand how you expect just one person to recover the whole store when we are busy. He says, Dollar General might not be for you. You have to recover 100%, not your best. Tammy has a lot to do. I have 19 stores to run, think of that. I say, I feel you are not listening to me, that it's her word over mine and I would like you to review the camera's. He says, I don't have time to do that, that is what Tammy does. It's her decision to terminate you. I say, but she gave me those options before and I don't understand why when I went to the other store it was part time. Tammy didn't tell me that. I need full time, that is what I was hired on as. He says, sorry, that is Tammy's decision, you can call other stores for hours. The store on Seamen or on Tucker could use help. I'm sure Meagan(Present store manager)can help you find more hours. This is a fresh start at another store. I'll contact Meagan in a month to check on you.

Still have not received a phone call yet. I call again, it's ringing this time. He picks up and says his name. I say, hello this is Jenea from Tammy's store, did she talk to you about my transfer. He says, no, I just talked to her briefly. I told him that I was made to re-sign. He said, made to re-sign? I say, yes. Tammy gave me three options, but didn't go through with them. I told him the options she gave me and then what happened when I went to the other store. He said, lets have a meeting tomorrow at Tammy's store around noon with Tammy to discuss this issue. I said, okay see you at noon tomorrow.

I hadn't heard from the District Manager yet. I called our old District Manager. Received the phone number to contact the new District Manager. I called first time, went straight to voicemail. I left a message.
3/13/18 (After I left work)
Contacted HR to check on status of employment and benefits. Checked on a previous report with HR. I had reported that was a family member aloud to work in the same store. They had told me no before. They told me it was reported. I asked about my employment status for benefits. My hours were cut badly. I was told my status hasn't changed. I explained what happen with being re-sign. I was told that changes won't take effect until Saturday. That I need to contact them after Saturday to change benefits. I say, okay, is there someone I can contact about being forced to re-sign. They say your district. We can send them an email with your contact information. I said, okay, thank you.

When I went into work Tuesday morning, Tammy says I need to talk to you in the office. She brought Della, which I assumed it was about Sunday. Tammy said, when you left Sunday you had made some comments that were over heard by customers and had informed me about these comments. She hands me a stack of reports and says take a look. I say, at what? There was only one person out there and that was your friend. I am not going to read these reports. They are false evidence. I did not say whatever they are saying I said. Tammy asks, then what did you say? There was a pause with me because I was shocked of what was going on. I tell her, I don't remember, I had a migraine and that it was over a day ago. I try to explain how intense my migraine was and the fact that it lasted all day. She disregarded me and continued to say, whether or not you made some comments that made her(Tammy friend, soon to be hired)uncomfortable. I can't have that in my store. You left Della out there with a line. Della and customers were calling me. Said they couldn't find you. It just seems it has been a trend with you since Thursday. I ask what do you mean? She says, you didn't finish green dot. I said, green dot?
She proceeds, what you were setting Thursday. The shelves were empty. I told her we were busy, I was called to the front to help, Della was having issues on the register again. I had set the green dot and stocked what I could with the time I had. Tammy says, more should of got done. She says, I don't understand why you can't get it done. Maybe this store is to much for you. My boss wanted to terminate you but I waited for him to calm down. You have two, no three options, be terminated, re-sign or transfer. I picked transfer. Wanted to keep my position. Tammy said, the store isn't far from where you live. Meagan will call you when transfer goes through and I need your keys. I hand her my keys and ask, what about the rest of the week? She says, I'm not sure when Meagan will call you, should be a couple of days. I say, okay and thank you for the transfer. She says, don't worry about signing the reports, I'll hold on to them. If I send them to HR then you would be terminated. She says, call me if you have any questions.

Went to open store that morning. I had a minor headache from when I woke up. I took some medicine at home. I go to clock in on the register and my number won't work. I try a few more times and still doesn't work. I say to myself, I'll just write my time down and leave it on Tammy's desk. I grab the drawers out of the safe and change fund. Go to the office and begin counting the drawers. I notice my face feeling weird, like when a migraine is starting. I got worried. The last one lasted almost two days. I didn't understand because I took some Excedrin. I take a deep breath and try not to think about it. I went back to finish counting. I finish with that and go open the store. I did not set the entire sidewalk because it was going to rain that day. My cashier didn't come in for another hour. While I was looking over the duties Tammy left for us, I was eating, hoping maybe it would help the headache. I hadn't eaten anything yet. My duties were to set sidewalk, sweep parking lot, work skyshelves(HBA, Food, Pets, Chemical, Paper). I go grab the broom and dust pan and proceed to the parking lot. It was cool outside, my head wasn't so painful. I managed to finish sweeping when a customer pulled up to the store. I go inside and work on the HBA skyshelves, they are close to the register. Going up and down the step ladder, I noticed was not helping my headache. It's getting worse and becoming a migraine. The pain goes down my neck and in left shoulder. I remember we have these patches for muscles. I grab one and put in on the spot that hurts. I do feel some relief. I go back to work. Della comes in and I tell her drawer is ready, just clock in. She goes to clock in and she says, we are still having computer problems? I say, I don't know, I wasn't here yesterday. She says, the computers were acting up again and was hoping it got fixed. I said, apparently no. We will write our time down for Tammy. Then I explained my migraine situation to her. She said, I hope you feel better. I replied, me too. I go back to HBA and don't really see that much more that can come down. I move to food. At this point I'm just pushing through the pain to do my work. I almost get done with food, when I realized I was getting hot. The patch was becoming warm now. I took it off, put my hair up. Relaxed for a moment, and went back to work. Some time passes and my migraine isn't going away, so I decide to go rest in the office. I figured it was close to lunch time, and would use this time as lunch. I fell asleep by accident, woke up. 30 minutes or so later. Realized I should call someone in and I did. Amber was closing that night, so I ask if she would mind coming in early for me. I had explained my migraine. She said, I'll there at 12:30AM. I said, thank you so much. I walk out to inform Della. She says, where have you been? We have been looking for you. I said, I was right there in the office. Said I was sorry and explained my migraine getting worse and told her Amber was coming. She says, you need to call Tammy. I replied, but Amber is coming in, this is Tammy's only day off and I didn't want to bother her. I got it covered. She says, okay and walks away to make a phone call. I don't know who, until later my boss shows up. She walks in with two(which appears to be her friends)people. She doesn't say anything to me and goes to the office. I follow her to the office to inform her about my migraine and that it won't go away. I told her I called Amber, that she didn't mind coming early. Tammy says, you know your not to call people in. I reply, I didn't know. Tammy says, I am going to check the camera's. I tell her I did come into the office because it was getting worse, that I needed to rest my head. I told I would count that time as lunch. She says, Della and the customers were calling her because they couldn't find me. I told her I was here in the office. She says, you are not doing your job, not recovering. I tell her I do everything you ask of me the best that I can. Della walks in and says she can't find the propane exchange barcode.I go to turn to answer Della and Tammy's friend is right behind me, which I think shouldn't have been. I say, it's not by your register? Della says, no, I can't find it. Della and I proceed to handle the problem. I can't find the barcode, so I go back to the office to inform Tammy. She goes to fix problem. I follow her back to the office. I ask, do you have any more questions? Tammy says, no I'll contact you, you can go. I don't here anything from her. At least not until I went back to work on Tuesday.
Notes: Now I was accused of saying comments that were overheard by customers. There was only one customer out there and it was her other friend she came in with that reported this.
-I feel the District didn't take this matter seriously. He should check camera's.
-There has never been a problem with me calling people in until now as well.
-I have been told by Tammy you can never be alone at the store. On Sunday, for an hour was by myself.
(I am looking out for me and the business I work for. Being unprofessional is not tolerated in my book. I would appreciate someone looking into this case and store for unprofessional practices. Also, call them during the day, they never pick the phone up. Every time I have gone in to close, the phone is always in the office.
nutella
Today on march 19, 2018 I went to dollar general on north main street suffolk, va 23434 and purchased one jar of nutella I didn't bother to check the date because I was in a rush and it was the only item I was getting and mainly because it was the first one on the shelf (should be safe right) no after a few hours I decide to get sone and when I opened it the gold seal had already been peeled open to the middle and that made me curious to the the date and it said august of 2016 I am very disappointed because I love nutella and it was the only item I brought it was as if the stocker peeled it back smelled it and decided that it was fine to stock up the entire shelf with nutella from 2016. This isn't the first time this is the second time it has has happened the first time I brought cake frosting from the same location got all the way home baked the cake tasted the frosting and it was gut wrenchingly disgusting and that too had a date of 2016! I am not their only customer this has to be happening to others! Don't these stores recieve inspections? Does anyone care? Something needs to be done! After I get my refund tomorrow I will never be returning to this dollar general location ever again and I will be spreading the word on my social media to warn my fellow people of suffolk va.
suspicious coupon scam at store #15144
I'm reporting incident for my elderly mother, the same thing has happened to her twice at this particular store #15144! your company offers coupon 5.00 dollars off 25.00 which occurred this past Saturday March 17th at this store, my mother doesn't shop by herself because of her eyesight so my older sibling shops with her, my older sibling goes through line coupon accepted no problem! it goes through.. my mom doesn't go at same time but eventually does, the cashier cannot get it to go through, even though she has over the limit of products, the cashier sees her line is backing up tells my mom she can get it to take 1.00 off, my mother tells her to check with manager because the last time when it would not work they had to do the same thing, , the cashier leaves the desk to look for manager briefly, comes back says she cannot locate her! runs it again and it took 3.00 dollars off; my mother tells her that's o.k. as she walks out of store, the manager is a few steps away outside like the cashier actually looked for her after reporting she did? why advertise coupon if the cahier and managers are not capable of knowing how to run them or are they pocketing it at end of shift, I, myself work in healthcare; I worry about elderly getting taken advantage of and see this to many times, please investigate this activity at this location ! I can see this been reported to better business bureau, something is going on...
unfair manager practices
Hey everyone,
I just wanted to ask you guys a question here;
My manager at the Dollar General on the west side of Indianapolis has put into action what I feel to be some very unfair practices and has done some unethical things, I'm going to list them out and I want some honest opinions on these items of concern:
- We were basically told that we were no longer permitted to have weekends off for any reason, and if we didn't agree with that to find another job. When one employee, an assistant manager no less, tried to quit, she convinced him to stay by giving him every weekend off.
- Has mandated that any shortages of register tills be made up by the employee's on register, out of the employee's own pocket. This one I can see the validity too, if you're constantly short than theft of store profits is a likely concern, but the part I don't get along with is if it happens even once and we are unable to make up the difference that we are terminated on the spot.
The following isn't so much a store policy she enacted as much as what feels like a personal attack:
- Refers to one of my fellow co-workers and myself as her, "Problem Children, " insults us directly to our faces and gets upset when we try to defend ourselves, and is constantly blaming us for things not getting done in the store, when the reality is that despite how much we despise our situation in the store, we come in and give it our best effort every single day.
- She'll constantly hide out in her office with her two assistant manager's and they'll all just sit in there and chat while I'm out assisting customers. Sometimes not being able to call them to the register when I need to perform an action that requires a manager's permission like voiding an item.
The last two things bother me a lot obviously, but I could put up with that if she wasn't acting like such a tyrant. Anyway, your feedback on this situation would be greatly appreciated.
employees
Albany missouri dollar General. there has been numerous visits to this store and the employees are always rude and dont want to help you find anything. this is primarily on evening shift. there is a lady who was asked to get diapers and she huffed about it and finally went to check if they had any in the back. on st Patrick's day it took 30 mins for them to air up a ladies balloons. two employees were there and both were doing it. neither employee stopped to ring up the 4 people (inc me) who were ready to go. we had to wait almost 20 mins for them to finish so we could check out. this is getting worse every time we go in. there is a male worker and he is always dirty and uniform isnt clean. this store needs cleaned up.
store is junked up
It seems each time I walk into the Dollar General at 04201--5160 Main St. Mount Jackson Va.-there is stuff sitting in the aisles and it is hard to walk through without a cart-with a cart all you do it hit objects. They sit the pop and water outside where the sun shines on it-THAT is not healthy. Once you get to register, you stand and wait sometimes 5 minutes.I just think the store should be better arranged and staff willing to wait on people-and clutter from aisles-there is always things from shelves on the floor-I used to pick it up-but I don't get paid to do their job-a job they should be doing. They are not all friendly either. Well I just wanted to let you know so something might be done about it-they better be glad I am not the boss.
Thank You for your time
manager
I currently work for dollar general I went into work yesterday and the assistant manager came to me and pulled me into the stock room, yelling screaming and cussing at me her exact words was "step the [censor] up or step the [censor] out" she begin to tell me how they didn't need me at the store after she was finished with me she got a sales associate and done the exact same thing to her making both of us cry, the assistant manager then continued at the front of the store near the registers in front of customers it is very unprofessional the assistant manager name is kim bondi and we are located at 1540 old newport highway sevierville tn 37876 if this happens to myself again I will have no choice then press harrasmemt charges on her.
the condition of this store
Attention Dollar General Management-
I would buy water, but ... it is inaccessible due to the isles being filled with boxes . I would buy Easter candy, but it is also blocked. This store is chaos. Please see photos.
I also waited in a line of about 7-8 people with one cashier open.
I noticed the Now Hiring sign on door is faded.. but one look at the trash littered everywhere .Manager
the staff
Friday- March 16th, 2018 my mother in-law and I were shopping in your DG 5745 Jonesboro Rd. 30260 we were in the dollar aisle and I had my 1 yr old in the cart so I stopped and opened a bag of chips. I gave the baby some chips and continued shopping. About a minute later an announcement comes over the speaker saying something about security. After the announcement 2 employees run out the back of the store and head to the front. At this point they are watching us (I've been shopping at that location since they were family dollar) never had this kind of insult ever happen to me. I get to the register and pay for my items and when I get out the store Lake City Police were there running my tags because your employees thought that it was okay to assume that I was stealing from them. Never would this store get 0.07 cent from me that's how furious I am.
you shouldn’t have opened the chips before paying for them. they shouldn’t have called the police over something so silly.
lack of employees/product not stocked
While entering your store, and several customers shopping, there were roll carts of stock on the aisles and shelves low on product or no product at all. The aisles were cluttered. It was a maze trying to get through. The employees maybe two scheduled for the morning shift are overwhelmed with making sure the customers are taken care of as well as the other employee trying to get the inventory put out on the shelves. It takes more than 2 employees to do the job needed to be done. I understand retail, the labor dollars involved but to not adequately employ your store is beyond me. These girls working are on overload and cannot perform their job properly. I have seen some customers walk in and walk out because the store looks like a tornado went through it. Corporate needs to look at how they run their business a bit closer and the strain they are putting on their managers and employees. Take a closer look at what you are doing to your employees. It does not come down to the manager of the store to get everything accomplished. It begins with corporate who is cutting the labor over half.
refusal of cashier to allow me to purchase two water gallons on march 16
Yesterday, I went to the Dollar General store (01457) in Wamego, Kansas to attempt to buy two water gallons along with my other items. The cashier claimed that the water gallons weren't able to be scanned or rung up saying that the reason may have been due to the gallons being contaminated. I want to know if this sort of thing happens or has happened in the past to other customers... and if it's some kind of explainable computer glitch or malfunction in the system... or if the cashier was just being malicious giving me a hard time that she shouldn't have done if that was the case. Also, I need to find out if any water gallons were sold at that store on Friday March 16.

rug doctor rental
On 3/6 @ 11:15 am I went to store #18700 in Branson, Mo. I rented a rug doctor for 48 hours. On my way home, I picked up some pizza for lunch, came home, ate a piece of pizza, then filled the machine with cleaning solution and proceeded to try and clean one of the 5 carpets I planned to clean, only to find that the handle on the machine was broken. At 12:19, and again at 12:24, I called the store and got no answer. I then called the 800 # for Rug Doctor at the top of the contract. I spoke with someone at 12:28, who gave me a reference number to get a refund on the broken machine. I then drove back to Dollar General. I explained what had happened to the girl behind the counter and she told me that I had signed a contract and I should have known the machine was broken before I signed it. I told her I had signed a contract for a machine that worked. She refused to give me a refund. I called the 800# and as I was talking to them, the girl at the store looked at the counter on the top of the machine and said I had used it. I told her I tried to use it, but couldn't use it because it was broken. I put her on the phone with Rug Doctor and she said she would not refund me because I HAD USED THE MACHINE. I asked her how in the world could I use it when I had just gotten it from her an hour ago. She then told me that I hadn't gotten it from her, she wasn't the one behind the counter. I then asked to speak to the manager. She said she was the assistant manager and was the one in charge. I asked her name and store number so I could report this and she started to check out the lady behind me who had put items on the counter, and stuck her finger in my face and told me I was going to have to wait...After checking the other customer out, she told me her name was Kaye's Baughman. I went to Lowe's and rented one of their BigGreen carpet cleaners. The time on that contract was 1:19. When I got home, I called Dollar General Corporate and was told the district manager would call me back within 24 hours. Today is 3/16 and I have called every day and have yet gotten a call from a manager.
inventory not stocked
I have been stopping at the store in my area for two weeks looking for a specific item and it hasn't been stocked. I asked someone about it and she said, "Do you see all of those totes behind me? They need put up and the back room looks the same. We are short handed. Sorry." There are empty shelves everywhere that are waiting on seasonal items to be stocked. The store is a mess. There is a newer store in town and I will definitely be shopping there from now on.
service/xbox gift cards
I bought a gift card from store number 08003 and after entering in the code it informed me to return to merchant .this isn't the first time codes are printed out on receipt.tonight I took one down and was belittled by the employee saying I don't know how to read, and was then told to figure it out and miss Christian started ringing up her next customer
service
I love dollar general, i'll start out by saying that, I shop in your store at least twice or more a week, mostly now by bus because my car broke down... So today i'm doing laundry, I needed laundry soap, had a rolling packed duffle bag, zipper on side/top, so i'd have to put the thing on the floor long ways to open it, neither here nor there it was packed, so nothing was being "lifted" into it anyway, with my laundry I was doing next door... So the cashier says mam u have to leave that in the front, I called out, i'm coming right back up i'm literally grabbing a bottle of soap... So I say to her as I quickly rush back to the register with the tide, you see me here all the time, i'm here almost every other day, her response was "so is everyone else, do you think you are special?" wow! Um, actually yes, I would think any returning weekly customer is special, or actually in reality as she should know being in customer service that every customer is special & appreciated... She then said she could kick me out if she wanted to as well... Wow... If I didn't live so close to here & my car was working... I don't know if I would ever want to return to that store again... That was really insulting to me... The location of the store is in clementon nj, right next to clementon park, it was a female employee who has been there for awhile now, which is why I was upset that I was treated like she never saw me before... She needs to learn people skills because she has a real attitude problem with customers... I'm in the service industry as a server so I know the customer is always right, even if they're not... Thank you, otherwise I love dollar general & I have another one in the other direction I might visit from now on to not have to deal with that employee...
