customer service
When I went to check out the girl with dark hair, glasses, and a lip piercing was extremely rude. There was a line of customers waiting to be checked out but she just stood at the back side of the registers looking down. After a little while I pushed the button and then she came up to help. While everyones items were being scanned she was very rude and had a horrible attitude. Very disrespectful young girl and I certainly do not want to shop here again while she is working.
store closing sections off not allowing customers to shop at parts of the store
Went to the pioneer Ohio dollar general and was not allowed to access any of the freezer or cooler section. Two workers have it blocked off by big metal cages not allowing anyone down the isle to shop. How is this making money. I go to store to shop and here I can't because every week something is always blocked off. The store shleves always look empty and always cluttered is the manager doing this job?
very rude manager
Today I busted a dollar general store where I was not only very pissed off but rudely bombarded by the "manager". After following me and my sons to the bathroom upon exiting she proceeded to tell me she didn't hear my son wash his hands and that in her store no child would be running around without his hands washed.
A. His hands were thoroughly cleaned even though I'm the one who wiped his butt
B. This manager should know her place and shouldn't have even been listening at the door while me and my kids are trying to take care of our business.
She was very rude and had I not recently come to Jesus the situation would've ended badly. The lady "Shannon" is a rude individual who oversteps her boundaries and clearly needs to learn her place. She will make customers turn away from the store with her sour attitude towards CUSTOMERS. whom she had no business following and listening in on the restroom in anyways... weird.
Thank you.
I can understand the manager listening if she suspected theft but it shouldn't matter to the manager if a boy washed his hands or not.
manager and assistant manager
My name is Donna Hine. I worked at the Dollar General in Elysburg pa 17824. The store manager and her asstince manager was very rude to me when I was working there, IF I did something wrong they would not tell me but get rude about it then they would talk about me behind my back. The asstince manager also was rude to customers, The one day I was on register...

Waited 5 minutes at point of sale as both employees on duty stood outside and smoked, as they came in and continued the conversation over by the donuts display, "the whole time a motion sensor bell was sounding my presence at the point of sale" was ignored for several more minutes, so I decided to leave and make purchase elsewhere, as I left the large blonde with face piercings made fun of me and laughed. So wile the manager is indisposed, this is how business is being conducted at the cherokee store, shes gonna be piiist.
not enough people working
When going into store to purchase toilet tissue and lysol there was only one register open with about 10 other customers waiting in line to get checked out. I then put my stuff back and left. Its like this all the time... I know this because I work right behind this location and myself or my employee goes and shops there for things we need in our store. The address is 2600 s irby st. Florence sc.
That's the way these stores are ran. They're not given enough budget to have more than 1-2 people at a time. They expect customers to be patient when the lines are long. It'll never change no matter how many complaints they get.
ban from store
My boyfriend and i were shopping one evening and i noticed we were being followed i pointed out and the employee heard me state that she followed us though the whole store. She then said that she almost caught me stealing. My boyfriend got upset for the false allegations and he used swear words to express his anger. She said then that we were ban from the store. I called the store and ask the manger to check the tapes and she will see that i didn't steal. I feel that it was very unfair.
blue dot clothing for the family and accessories buy one get one free
I came in on my lunch to get some last minute Christmas gifts for my niece and nephew. I saw the ad displayed and picked out two outfits both $10 each, one for a girl and one for a boy, then I picked out the same pair of shoes in different sizes also in the Blue Dot and $8 each. Got to the front and checked out, after getting my receipt I questioned the...

So i walked into the Westphalia Dollar General store Monday night after work around 5:30pm and the Assistant Manager Lisa was complaining out loud to the other employee about complaints that are being made about her.. carrying on while there is customers in there shopping . While i know everyone in the store could hear her entire conversation and about how innocent she is and how everyone is picking on her. I can promise you that is not case.. she doesn't make sure the store is nice and tidy. Lisa is constantly complaining about someone or something every single time I go in there. This store needs a new decent.. nice Assistant Manager..
Maybe you need to just let her do her job and stop eavesdropping.
management
Hello Dollar General 04501. Former customer because everytime I walk into the store the managers smell like a marijuana farm. They are obviously high and also rude to the customers, especially the portly redhead store manager. He stands outside smoking his marijuana apparatus while talking to the employees and customers like dirt. He's a God of Dollar...

I have always shopped DG... My complaint is about the store & the manager SHE NEVER SHUTS UP! The store is ridiculously dirty & junky. I was there last week & had to step over stuff in the floor in EVERY ISLE! When I got to check out she never shut up the whole time I was there finally I said to her the store was the worst that I had EVERE SEEN IT! She...
Read full review of Dollar Generalpregnancy tests and condoms
To Whom it May Concern,
The Dollar General store in Factoryville, Pennsylvania has put the pregnancy tests and condoms behind the counter. I believe this is very unnecessary. Teenagers and young adults who need to buy them will feel embarrassed asking for them, and they will have unprotected sex instead. Since when did you have to be 18+ to purchase those things? Putting pregnancy tests and condoms behind the counter are creating more unwanted teen pregnancies that people will not adopt when the babies are born. Not to mention, Trump is shutting down all planned parenthood! Do you realize that? This needs to change ASAP! Just a few weeks ago they were over the counter!
They are put behind the counter because they are items that are stolen consistently. It's not dollar general responsibility to fund teen sex by allowing their products to be stolen. If they are to embarrassed to buy condoms and pregnancy test, then they should not have sex.
I am complaining about a worker violating my civil rights
On Saturday December 7th, 2018 myself, my fiance and our 2 year old disabled son entered the Dollar General off Dugan IN Wichita, KS. Having just left the Walmart across the street we stopped at dollar general realizing we had forgotten a few items. Half way through checking out I realized my wallet was missing. Getting anxious and worried I sent my fiancee out to check our car. When he came back with nothing I asked the clerk if I could leave my name, number and description of my wallet. He agreed and I left all that information. At this time my son had started screaming so I told my fiancee to take him to the car and asked the clerk if I could look around one last time. He agreed and once I had searched on last time I came to the front and while walking out seen my fiancee's back turned to him loading our son and the clerk grabbing my coat and sons blanket going through them including inside pockets. Unsure what I was seeing I scream, did you find it?! He looked up and held products in his hand, shocked I explained I hadn't even realized they were there due to being worried about my wallet. The clerk proceeded to accuse me over and and over of stealing. He asked to see my purse which I gladly let him. Realizing there wasn't anything in there he walked away and screamed for us to not come back. Mortified and absolutely shocked I got in and drove off. My fiancee informed me he was completely unaware the clerk had even come up behind him. I was still in the store at this time and at no time did he imply or even ask if we were stealing. Not only did he mortify me in front of strangers but in front of my baby as well. I am demanding something be done or will be taking this as far as I can. His behavior was absolutely unacceptable!
If you're telling the unvarnished truth, his search of your belongings would rise to simple assault as that can encompass carried belongings. (For example, grabbing something out of someone's hand is still assault, even though you didn't hit the actual person.) I wouldn't bother with a civil complaint, DG will just deflect responsibility up their corporate chain until you give up and go away. Make a criminal complaint with the Wichita cops since you have a witness. The story of the DG clerk who got arrested for playing store detective will have a stronger effect on their future behavior than any lawsuit. If DG pays off in a lawsuit, it doesn't mean anything to the individual employees, but taking a ride to the police station absolutely will.
overall store
I live in Converese Indiana and the store here is gross. The employees are rude and the store is extremely cluttered. You guys are losing business very fast at this store due to the overall appearance of the inside. This has been complained about several times to you guys without anything being done. I would like to see something done or i will be contacting the state fire marshals office along with the health department. I hate to be this way but the store is gross and only gets worse. The manager is terrible and let's the employees kids run around the store and behind the counter. Thanks
velveeta macaroni cups
I went to the dollar general to buy a 4 pack of velveeta macaroni cups and I went straight home to make them. I opened one up and seen this. All the noodles were hard and stuck on one side and nasty black gooey stuff was stuck up the other side. It stunk so bad it made me puke. I'm not sure if it was the dollar general that done this or the company who this but I want something done. I will not even buy these anymore
store condition
Ok I am a regular customer at the Dollar General Store #07151
824 State St.
Erie Pa 16501
It's unbelievable the lack of pride that is that is taken in that store. The floor is disgusting and needs replaced. The dairy refrigerator has been broke for over a week, and when I asked when it would be fixed, I was told maybe never, they don't care. I specifically came to the store for 4 sour creams which were unavailable because of the broken refrigerator. Please take more pride in your business and more care of your customers. I am very sick after just returning from an operation. It's very cold here and I really needed that sour cream. I'm disappointed.

Bad way to run a business.
the manager in wisconsin rapids wi (dar)
The 1st thing i would like to complain about is how she treets her employees. So rude. Yelling at them for making a mistack and then going to the employees place to live and demanding to speek to the former employee. When the mistack was made the employee was right infrount to the regester and tried to cancle the transaction. The former employee tried to refund the product and that did not even work. The employee tryed to call dar to inform her that her drawer was going to be short by alot bit no money was touched and the pre paid card was left with a not on the receat. Dar did not answer her phone and blew up on the emplyee infrount of customers while talking on the phone with the employee. Dar threatened the employee about a rotanor that wasnt done and how she wasnt going to do it and if the employee wanted her job that she would come in for an hr. Dar should have talked to the employee in privit and not tell the employees parents if she didnt get ahold of her she was calling the cops. Reminding you the employee had that day only off. The employee has the recets of things she bought and left the card in dars office. The employee did not steel. The employee after going in that day crying and feeling like crap texted dar. Dar sat there and lied to the employee saying she wasnt fired just shes really pissed. Things started to change between dar and the employee. The employee has picturs of the recets of that day and dar telling the employee not to be ringing things in herself but never said it would lead into losing her job. Dar did not tell the employee anything about it and also seen the employee do it herself before. Do i beleive this employee should lose her job over one mistack she ever made? The cashier is human we make mistacks, well that employee worked over the weekend and would be so scard to go behind the desk to even clock in. While the employee was working she seen a rotanor that had a little note on it out in the an ial that said chemical slill dont touch. Isnt chemical spills soupose to be cleaned up right away? And dispose of properly? This employee came in sick, picked up shifts of people and gets treated like this? A chemical spill that someone could highly be allergic to compaired to someone making a mistack and trying to fix it should not cost a job. And being lied to. That person im talking about is me. I have read the handbook and understand it. Dar even said she seen me try to stop the tranaction and also seen me try to refund it all different ways and i have pictures to prove that i did. I will send them to you. There is nothing in the handbook that says a cashier can not perchus items themselfs. I hope something gets dobe about this because me being fired over a mistack and being treated like im nothing is rediculas. Getting yelled at because im not working fast enough but being blind in one eye right know due to losing my glass peace and dar knowing about it but wanting me to work sky shelfs and being on a lator that could hurt me. So if i lose my job because of a mistack and she can do that then i guess contacting my lawer and contacting the bbb is what im going to do. Aka another thing dg employees cant work by them selfs kinda funny hiw i would work 3-4 hrs by myself and thats ok. Do something about it or i will. Thanks.

Honestly, I can’t believe I’m even replying to this post as it has nothing to do with me, but that was so incredibly painful to read I felt compelled to reply in defense of DG. I would imagine that somewhere in the DG handbook that you state you read, it most likely says employees should be able to read and write English fluently. I am shocked you actually signed your name to that post. I agree with the other person who replied that a lawyer would most likely tell you that you’re not only out of your mind as far as filing a lawsuit, but would encourage you to remove that “rediculus” post if you have any hope of ever finding another employer that would hire you.
I have no idea what you said. Can u repeat that using English?
management
This is the next time that I have been there and the management Heather is so many times rude. Just trying a question, and she thinks she does not have to work and she is better than customers trying to buy. Why is she in the store? Just get the check and not working? She can not just sit there and not help any people. I have seen so many people like her and they have no idea what they are doing. Fire her. Burlington, KS 66839.
PROBLY ON METH
Why are you trying to take her livelihood? Has she threatened yours that you're not telling us about?
store manager n employee
There was an incident that occurred at the job with another co worker, store manager was out but was on the phone with the girl Christina Carrington. Mrs. Rochelle said for me to go ahead and leave, I leave n Mrs.Rochelle (store manager) calls me and say "glad you left so wouldn't get in any trouble" ok n we continue to talk n I'm telling her how tired am...

Lisa Bauer is the most rude, mean and very disrespectful to the employees. Myself and other customers have heard Lisa yelling at one of the employees all the way outside. I have even heard Lisa and seen her talk to a customer with an attitude and answer with a smartass answer. She is just hurting the store and why it is so hard to get people to work there...
