store shelves are not being stocked therefore I cannot purchase what I need
The store the last several times I've been there the trash is always overflowing onto the ground, the aisles cannot be accessed (at 90% of the stores in town and there are several) and only one employee working. A) How can I use a cart in the store, B) How can I buy product when it is in totes on the floor blocking areas and less walking space and C) How is an employee supposed to stock if they are running a register? Apparently your business model has changed and needs to be addressed! I really like DG - for many years now and used to be a big fan but now I can't buy what I need because it's not on the shelf.
store manager, vacation pay
I worked for Dollar General for 2 years and 8 months assistant store manager found out that the manager was raw punch editing our hours back by 15 minutes at night to save on whole store hours. One of the cashier said something to her about it when I came into work that evening she had pulled Atlas off of my login so I can no longer view it ...couple weeks later after some bad personal times being late and getting wrote up.on my last day my cat got hit by a car took him to the vet had to have them euthanized.got a call from my daughter that was that her dad's and CPS was taking them into State custody call my manager yes it wasn't an hour before I was supposed to be there about 10 minutes 15 minutes before told her what was going on she said I need to get my butt to work, got there got a drawer counted it rang up a couple customers she said come in office and turn in my keys. Terminated for being late which if I did not that I can get my butt into work could have saved my kids from CPS getting them from my ex-husband..then ask about my 32 hours of vacation time left she said she would put it on my check which she never did see me after I messaged her again about it and then she also accused me of stealing merchandise and said loss prevention was going to be there to investigate, and she is telling all the employees this which are telling all the customers which I know outside of the store.. in my time there I left my cell phone at the store would she looked through and read everything in it along with her husband in the office took it home with her lied to me when I asked her about it and didn't want to bring it back to me okay roll punch editing art I'm cutting back or hours that we worked would call me into work for her so she could go get her Suboxone at the Suboxone Clinic while I was off the clock because we didn't have the hours Said she would be Gone 15 minutes and an hour later or maybe two, she would get back and then say well if you could have came in earlier, it wouldn't have took me so long as I'm working off the clock..she didn't want to do the paperwork match up any of the store reports two invoices so I had to take them home and spend hours doing them off the clock just to get caught up, which she expected all the time after that.. sad that we had to be clocked in 5 minutes before each shift or we were late and we would get wrote up for it, can you put a family emergency come up for her and all I better be ready to come right to work for her because she has a family emergency or turns out to be her teenage son didn't come straight home from school and was sitting talking to a girl in the cemetery beside the school that was her family emergency that took 2 days off work, but let something happen to me or another employee in particular that she picked on and it didn't matter it wasn't important we got wrote up didn't mean we should be late, not a good excuse... Now what should I do with this information
Once you quit or are terminated you are not entitled to vacation pay, it's in the employee handbook. Vacation pay can only be used while you are employed. They don't do payouts. The rest seems like payback because your mad that you were fired. Sorry!
store
Since they done the "remodel" it is ridiculous. You can't walk through the store. The shelves are bare. Not enough employees and unfriendly. If they would pay there employees then they may get someone who will actually work. You get what you pay for. The store keeps going downhill. They have rolling carts sitting everywhere. You can't get a cart up and down the isles and can't see the little bit of inventory they have.
Wow work retail and see how you like it. Customers with attitudes like your is why employees respond the way they do.
an employee
I'm am livid at this manager or what ever she may be at this store! Her name is Crystal I've visited the store but before going to the store I had stopped in jimmy johns to eat my 9yr old daughter and I! But this young lady was smoking marijuana by jimmy johns! She really needs to be drug tested bc that is and was outrageous! I'm still in disbelief!
What a employee of dollar general does off the clock and away from the company is none of your business.
She was not on store property. Not a thing dg can do. Mind your own business
management
8620 Asheville Hwy, Boiling Springs, SC 29316 Went shopping at 8:30am to get a few things. When I was walking around shopping I heard this woman cussing!I continue to go checkout and turns out it's manager who's name is Caroline. She was very rude and unprofessional! Very disappointed! I have kids and will not be back if this is what you as a company condone!
Suck it up! Everyone has a bad day. Not everybody can be perfect every minute.
unethical behavior
I am urgently wanting to report an employee at a local store in Beaver, OK 73932. Her name is Danielle. Every time I go into the store, she will greet and talk to the customers before and after me, but she will ignore my hellos and goodbyes. She slams my money down on my items and turns away from me. There are multiple times I contemplate on even going into Dollar General anymore. This is the only store near me. I would rather go without, or drive 40 minutes to a different state and town to get what I need, rather than enter this store.
I do not know this employee, but my friends and boyfriend all have similar problems. Simply, she chooses not to like you, and treats you like actual trash. I have no interest even shopping here anymore. I really hope something gets done about this.
I came out to my car today and cried. I am tired of her behavior as once again, I don't know who she is, but she is working there every day and making me anxious and miserable when I walk into this store.
Please do something about this employee, so I can continue to shop without fear of being judged, ignored, and treated like less than a person.
This really affects me and my daily life. Dollar General is the only store that has the things I need in my area. As said, it has gotten to the point where I no longer want to shop here because of this employee.
I don't think we are getting the whole story here.
Ignore her and mind your own. Go in get what you need and get out. Don't take everything so personal not everything is about you.
Wrong. Rude is rude. Who are you, a DG employee?
condition of store and personnel
I love Dollar General. I shop there at least 4 or more times a week. However, the store located near me on Highway #91 in Albany, Georgia is always in a mess. Merchandise blocks the isles so you cannot get a shopping buggy down some of them. There is always merchandise sitting everywhere ready to be put on shelves yet no one is working to do that. There is hardly ever anyone at the register to check you out. You either have to seek them or someone yells "there's someone at the register". The personnel there are friendly WHEN they are not on their cell phones. There in lies the problem. Every other Dollar General store here is always organized and clean. Where is management at this particular store? I am not usually a complainer but today was the worst I've ever seen. Unless something is corrected in this particular store I do not want to shop there ever again. There is no excuse for laziness. Please do something for your own benefit..
investigation
I understand what I did was wrong.my manager told me and another girl we could get stuff and pay for it when we got paid. My issue is I got fired when the manager and other girl was doing it and nothing seems be done about this. there has been multiple times that the manager has left and deposit being took I have dates starting in Nov 2017- Jan 2018 . There is a 19 old cashier there and has been left alone multiple times and we carry beer and wine. Many times the employees can not take there lunches or management dose not tell them too.iyems from vendors have been took home and damages.
So your taking everyone with you. Suck it up you got caught
total wireless samsung android and brought card with unlimited talk and text
Brought the Phone this past summer has been working no problems what so ever but I brought a new minutes card at the first of the month and last week my phone stopped working because the Dollar general that I got the phone from no longer sells this phone now I do not have a phone and I wasted $35.00 dollars for the card and what ever I paid for the phone. What can I do I got this phone because it worked everywhere for me and I have my handicapped niece that I have Guardianship of who is handicapped and is in a wheelchair that was why I got this phone it worked anywhere and everywhere but now I have nothing, can you please help me I need a phone if for nothing else when I have my niece with me.
wait time at check out
Every time I go to dollar general in port richey florida locations there is always a longer then usual wait time for me and I will no longer be going to the general until the customer service improves. First the register has zero counter space for people with items in their hands that think it will be fast but it never is. There is always one person working and they could care less about opening up a register when the lines get long like the other good stores do. Last two times I was held up waiting for manager to take something off with their key as apparently the cashiers can not do this simple task. Make the counter longer and improve wait times or I will not never be back, family dollar seems to have better service.
I say again, this is not a legitimate threat to the company, Dollar General Corporation owns Family Dollar. They as a company don't care if you take your business there, they still get your money.
Bye!
service
Information. I am trying to see if dollars general would donate to feeling the less fortunate for thanksgiving but am unable to get a hold of anyone. The people at the store would not give me any information on how to contact anyone to ask about donations and then I try to put in [protected]@dollargeneral and nothing. So maybe this way I can get some attention
Hello to feed the less fortunate is a wonderful thing and I just can't accept that dollar general wouldn't want to donate in some way thank you
Call customer service! Dollar general will never see this post
an employee
I recently went to Negaunee DG in Michigan, where I always go, and noticed a new hire. She was very nice at first but as the checking out proceeded, she was a little hostile. She was also not very nice to fellow employees, as she was bossing them around very harshly. I also don't know her stance; possibly could be in a manager stance. I guess it could be the stress but I do hope she will ease out as the job goes on. Thank you!
Most new people are that way to make an impression on their supervisors. As time goes by and gets to know everybody, she'll be fine.
candy
the label on the shelf said buy one get 50% off the other, so I brought 4 to the register, the cashier said he had to check with Management, and they said its expired and they wont honor it.
I didn't see any dates saying it was expired and it was stuck to the shelf, so I would of had to have glasses and a magnifier to know it was expired.
Anyway I didn't buy all four. But I believe that should not be tolerated by the customer, especially on how much I spend there.
So more or less you're complaining over a dollar. Dude there's more serious issues in the world right now.
my boss that screwed me over
Well I told my boss before I started working their that I can't work fridays and she said that is fine and after a week goes by i get put on for Friday and I told her I can't work fridays so I text her to let her know that I can't go in Friday and she's like you never told me that even though I did so I told her I can't go in then that Friday night she changed the schedule so that I would be working saturday morning and Sunday morning even though I usually work sunday nights and Monday nights and the boss or anyone that is a manger didn't text me or anything so they [censored]ed me over and made me feel bad cause I didn't go in Friday night and I'm a student in HS
I don't know what your manager told you but the reality is that there is no set schedules and no promised days off in retail. If your manager does try to work with you on that then kudos to her.
merkel tx store manager angela
I just feel like this store manager is unfair to her employees. Every time I go to this store she's either gone or outside smoking. Her employees won't talk to Asa due to in the past an employee tried to talk to Albert and he told Angela the employees name and she then retaliated by cutting hours. My spouse is one of her employees and I tell her that they need to contact Asa and tell him everything but they're all too scared that she will cut their hours and treat them worse. I have also been told that she will pay with a check but not put it in the deposit until she has that money in her account. She will damage product just so she can pay half price for it. Every Saturday she has to work she will make an excuse as to why she can't come in and will leave that LSA by themselves. When they have items that are pennied she will say she's taking them to donate them and will take them home instead. I'm hoping that someone could investigate these situations and get them resolved. I just feel like if my spouse has to be at work to actually get paid then Angela should have to work her 40 hours to get her pay which she may work half of those hours each week. If this doesn't put up a red flag on her then I guess my next solution is to contact the labor board and see if they can help. Thank you for your time! Please look into this and don't just ignore it! My spouse loves her job but is stressed to the max working under Angela.
employee attitude and behaviour
On 10/21/2018 I went to the Dollar General located on Chestnut Street in Clarksburg, WV and after this visit made up my mind never to go into this store again (even though I live within 1/2 of a mile from here). One of your employees (Kaitlyn or Caitlyn, not sure of the spelling) was being very rude to a customer as I entered (I did nothing). Upon my check out I was given the same type of attitude and told as an employee she knew the rules and maybe I should go read the flyer the "right way". The reason for her attitude being that I purchased some spring and summer items which were on sale for 70% off - then you were to take another 50% off (this was the last date to do this) and she was only giving 50% off in total. I pointed this out again after she rang me out and showed her on my receipt that she had over rang me by $23.00 - she denied it and told me to come back and talk to a manager (who was not in the store at the time). I have waited a week to complain and decided that the young lady needs to be held responsible for her lack of respect towards customers and maybe if a manager would stay in the store, she would not act this way towards customers. After I was told there was not a manager in the store I went looking and there was another employee (a man) and he was very courteous and made the comment that many customers had mentioned her attitude, but he could not do anything. This woman was ringing another customer out when I heard her tell another customer (I'm sick of those customers that anyone can tell where they come from, coming in here trying to get something for nothing). First of all I come into this store on an average 3 times a week (not just for sales) second of all I don't know where she thinks I come from, I live within 1/5 mile from this store and for those that do not - very nasty comment! Third I am a therapist, so what kind of people is she referring to? career minded or the color of people's skin? I was not going to write to corporate, but if I allow this type of behavior to continue it would only allow this employee Kaitlyn/Caitlyn to continue to get by with this and make others who come into contact with her feel horrible. I hope your company will do something about this. If you would like to contact me my address is -251 Magnolia Ave, Clarksburg WV 26301. My phone number is [protected] and my email is [protected]@yahoo.com . Thank you Tonie Teague
copy of receipt
I purchased a $150.00 vanilla gift card for my son's birthday. I paid with cash. When he went to activate the card, the phone hung up. I need a copy of my receipt to send to the company to use my card. I purchased it at the Carolina Rd. Store in Suffolk Va. On October 2nd 2017. Unfortunately I can not find the original and I need Dollar General to give me a duplicate via email or mail. Please help

Go to any dollar general store and they will give you the number to customer service which can look up your transaction and go from there. Dollar general dose not and cannot give out duplicate receipts.
Dollar general doesn't monitor this random site. Call customer service!
store rules
I live in Konawa, Oklahoma. Dollar General is the only place to shop without driving. I went in there today and there was people vaping in the store. I don't think it's right for the people who don't smoke. I have a heart condition and that is not good for me to be around. In a place of business that should not be done. I do think something should be done about this before it gets to where I will go to different towns. And this store will lose business. Thank you
There is not a law against vaping. With the exception of on school property. Some city may forbid it but there is not state ban. So they are not breaking the law, you may want to take it to your city council.
clarkton assistant amber
This girl is rude not just once in awhile but every time you go in and she is there. She is always on her phone and gets a attitude if you ask for help. Today she has her daughter at work with her. You can see the little girl in the picture she is working on the tubes that is down there hall way. This is not the first time she has had a attitude with me I've blowed it of in the past because I know people have bad days but this amber has a bad day every day. I will take my business elsewhere. What kind of business are you'll running with a child of this age in there working. Let her get hurt and see what happens.
service
I am very grateful for the Dollar General conviently located around the corner from my home and thus being said I am always running to the store for last minute items as well as regular food/non food items on a weekly basis and and most weeks this turns into a daily basis. I have always been very impressed with all prices listed by the Dollar General. However on this Friday night my husband and I had family in from out of town and needed soft drinks. I arrived at the store at 945 pm and store was closed and one of store employees motioned through the glass door she had already closed and nothing to do...I was extremely disappointed with her attitude and if a store hours closes at 10 then please close at 10. Because of the store being closed I had to then drive 10 miles to Walmart and not happy having to shop for soft drinks at Walmart on a Friday night. This experience has made me rethink my Dollar General shopping and may not return to this location if any location at all...very dissatisfied loyal customer
Maybe your time was wrong. Maybe there's was.
How does this turn into such a fiasco? Your family from out of town didn't arrive at 9:45 pm out of the blue. You knew they were coming ahead of time but you waited until the last minute to run to the store. So now its the employees fault that you had to go to Walmart on a Friday night.
Awe suck it up, you didn't die because you had to go to another store.

This happens more than you know, its partly the managers fault unless he's new and inherited the mess, but it's also the way dollar general is run. This particular store probably has a lack of employees to do the stocking, or the store is not given enough hours for payroll to ensure that people can be there to do the stocking. The "COMPANY" always waits until a store is in crisis mode before they will even consider bringing in help from another store to get the stock put out. For all intensive purposes dollar general is a cheap company when it comes to paying people to get a job done and they don't treat the employees very well so the ones that are there leave.
I agree with you. I have been to stores who have gotten in three trucks back to back with nowhere else to put the rolltainer or u-boats. This one store had back room full, the whole store had full rolltainers down every isle & a another truck was pulling in to unload more. Wow. I asked the manager, "where are you gonna put it? Outside?" The man was almost in tears. Too much product, not enough employees or room to put all of the stuff sent to the stores.
Employee's parking in closest spots to store. Those spots should be for customers. Dirty store! Floors look as though they are never mopped or cleaned. Stuff laying in isle and looks very junky.
