The manger of the new dollar general in Hancock should not be the manager she was the manager at family dollar who got fired for stealing bank deposits!she is also hiring other people from family dollar who got fired for stealing and giving stuff to people without paying! I think they should restaff and get people who will actually benefit the stor and not steal from it
the whole store
I am a regular customer in this store. I buy my food there, I buy clothes on discount to donate, I overall do a lot of business here. I was shopping the other day, and noticed quite a few things that just weren't up to par. The A/C leaks and wets the ceiling tile to the point that it bows and it could, at any moment fall on someones head. The store smells so badly and is terribly dirty. The employees try so hard to keep up with it but the new manager just doesn't seem completely with the program. And, last but not least, to my actual disgust, I saw a damn sewer rat running across the floor. That explains why the loaf of bread i got there had a hole in it. They also recently decided to.stop selling dry animal food. People are buying food that rats are potentially walking on, eating out of, and urinating on. Hello health inspector?! Do these people really think we are that stupid?!

Clipped a $2.00 off $10.00 on my digital account today, which is if I purchase $10.00 worth of products I will get $2.00 off. I went to the store and purchased $11.00 worth of products and it did not take the $2.00 off the cashier said their was nothing they could do about it, I REALLY don't understand why some stores don't take it, while other stores don't have a problem with it, hopefully something can be done about soon. It expires on 9/15/18

I am a cashier for this store and I have two jobs. I have a set schedule at my other job and I'm off by 5. My general manager has a problem with working around my schedule. When we were short handed she had no problem scheduling me for nine days straight around my schedule but now she has only scheduled me for one day for last two weeks. I have talked to her about the issue and she will not help me. What can I do about my situation
Couldn't your mgr schedule you on the days you're off at the other job at whatever time she needed you plus maybe after 5 on 1 or 2 of the other days and schedule the other employees accordingly?

Hi, I been trying to contact dollar general about a complaint with a cashier named Karla and Jessica at dollar general market Lyons Ga 30436. They both were been very rude and ask each other who would open a register to Cash out. Also they were saying each other how they wish time would fly so they wouldn't deal with couponers like us. I try to use my digitals and would not work because the system was down and she said she could not help me void the transaction that I had to pay $20 and I could not return to return the stuff. I would appreciate if they were more nice.

I have a complaint about 1 District Manager of yours, His district includes, Bee Branch, Damascus, and Quitman Arkansas. His First name is Ed, Now I happen to know that Dollar General as a company is an equal opportunity employer which does include people who have a disability be it physical or mental (slow learner, mildly autistic).
Do you know that he ordered a store manager to in Quitman Arkansas to cut the hour of 1 of these people (Mildly Autistic). until she quit his reasoning was she is not productive enough. He wanted the Manager to outright fire the girl. I do believe he used the same tactics on a Mentally deficient employee that the Damascus store used to clean up and do some stocking.
Now the girl in Quitman store does well at check out which helps free a more seasoned employee do other tasks.
I do know that Ed rides the store manager at Quitman hard, now the store is one of you older one and the building is run down having many problems, one of AC units is offline the, the Bathroom has faulty pluming, the bathroom door cannot close properly, numerous leaks in the roof, among other things and the store is too small for the volume of merchandise passing thru. The Staff is always stocking because you can't get 20 cube in a 1 cube space.
The store Manager is doing the best that she can with what is available to her.
I happen to know that he threaten to fire and or demote her recently, I also know that all her customers love her and many customer come a long way to shop at that store.
I know everyone makes mistakes but constant negative feedback on his part does little to improve moral in that particular store.
Someone needs to look into this.

7 days ago i bought a product from the Tallapoosa Ga store. Within a few hrs I returned that item. It was not up to my standards. The cashier put the return on my debit card. Dont ask me why i paid cash. Here it is 7 days later n my momey is not available.. when i done the return i told him i needed to take care of a few things.
1 was return the item
2 was take the money from my return plus the money i had in hand and place it on my prepaid card
3 was buy tabacco
He placed the return of $72.00 on my card. Then a diff transaction was done putting the money i had on hand onto my card.
I've never done a return that didn't pay back cash, is this even possible?

i were at checkout and cashier said there were a limit of 2 case on water i had 3 so she said to the manger in front of me and all the other customer she were getting pissed with these void and i said that what you get paid for she walk away in the middle of ring us up and another person finished the manager were very apologetic for her he said he would take care of her she didn, t have any respect for him or anybody the lady behind me said the manager must been new the way she treat him in front of us

I was shopping today at store #13914 and as I was checking out the cashier said an item wouldn't scan. So she tried again and said it's a discontinued item and I can't sell it to you for .01. I had no idea what she was talking about. I wanted the game for my grandson. I had the game when I was little. She then takes the game hands it to the other employee and said "put this in my car I'm playing it tonight"! Is that the way it's suppose to work? I'm very angry! If it was a penny it should of been sold to me. Her not paying for it is stealing from the store. I asked for corporates phone number and she refused to give it to me! If this can't be resolved I'm not coming back. I spend on average $200 a month if not more with you guys.

I walked outputting items in my car I went to grab the bag with cigarettes and saw he had given me lights on Marlboro so I walked back in waited in line and said told him he gave me the wrong ones
I had sat them on the counter he picks them up and says I’m not taking them back I replied excuse me dude I haven’t even made it to my car, again he said no so I went to reach for them and he replied I don’t know who the hell you think you are you ain’t snatching from me which he kept holding
I said ok and turned he goes fine be that way I stormed out of the store keep in mind I was not given the item or anything he kept it THEFT?
I as a manager for over 20 years would’ve fired him on the spot

Because they should. I work at Dollar General myself. I got angry at a customer and I lied and said they were shoplifting. I placed some batteries in their handbag and claimed they put them there. I got a gift card out of it.

Hi there I recently shopped at Dollar General 2 days ago and my digital coupons worked fine except for one that is the Suave digital coupon purchase $6 and receive $2 off. Yes I got the correct items and yes I have my receipt. Why wasn't this suave coupon working properly giving me the $2 off as it should have? In Kempner Texas. The new manager is not about her customers. The stores customer service is gone. There is always just one cashier and manager not on the floor to help. Plus the store is turning into a store in the middle of a city. This is a small town. Run the store accordingly. A bad boss makes employees bad. Correct yourself manager, your employees minus the new guy do what they can to help customers. Your store needs another person to help customers on the floor. The past 2 weeks I've been in the store a dozen times. Been told the the manager is in the back. This while the line was 5 people deep and many people on the floor shopping. While I'm at it. The tall guy has a bad attitude towards customers. He has upset the towns matriarch more than once. She won't go back. The new Hispanic girl must be new. Has no idea how to be in customer service. Always outside smoking next to her car when I drive by with another lady. Probably the manager. Shanda Che and Paula are the only employees left the worth anything.
Just because a employee is on the property doesn't automatically make them your slave. The girl is probably on break when she is standing by her car smoking, or maybe she hasn't started her shift yet. Oh my, a entitled customer once again jumping to conclusions.
How would you feel if somebody judged you the same way you judged those employees? Don't think you'd like it too much.

Store is always a mess hard to navigate. Teresa is horrible! So rude every time I come in I hear her loudly saying she is trying to get off work . She never speaks to customers when entering or leaving . She even bumped into last visit without saying sorry or excuse me! Today I came in and her and another woman followed my 8 yr around like he was going to steal! I am the only one at the counter waiting once again she is busy telling the other how she is trying to get out of there and no acknowledgment nothing and even says to her I need to turn off my register so I can get out. She after minutes (I was about to leave) she walks over and rings me up. After it all she doesnt ask me debt or credit and runs my card wrong I tell I need credit she says ugh same thing I tell her no! There is a difference she rolls her eyes! So I take my stuff then as I walk away she tells the other woman if one more person snatched the receipt! She threatened me wth! This woman needs to be suspended or fired! Dollar general do better!
The choice of running Debit or Credit is done by the customer from the keypad itself, why did you complain about her when it was your mistake?

After working all week, I stopped in the dollar general to buy some beer. The very loud and rude little girl leans over the counter and says. "I hope you have your ID with you ma'am. I replied yes, but what I wanted to say was " How about waiting on the 4 people in front of me ". Now I don't mind getting carded, but I do mind being singled out and embarrassed by a little girl barely old enough to sell it. I'm 58. Won't go back and wil! Let everyone I know about this until she is gone or trained...
These kinds of people shoppers at dollar general is what makes it hard for the workers. It seems to me that no matter what this girl did you were going to be angry and complain, if it wasn't about the asking for ID it would have been about something else.
You do realize that if you did not have ID, then she could not have sold it to you. And apparently you were 5th in line. So you would have waited all that time for nothing. So... seems to me like she was just trying to help you?

Me and my nieces and 7 year old nephew went in to the dollar General at 2450 Columbus ave in anderson indiana and as the kids was going in to the store i hear my nephew crying he slipped and fell as he entered the store and hurt his back yes he was running which he should not have been yes there was a caution wet floor sigh but what gets me is the rug was not where it should have been in front of the door not to the side and the works not 1 of the 3 or 4 that was behind the counter could come and see if he was alright they didnt even ask if he was ok not one of them and as we went down where the toys was there is water leaking all over the the paper and not buckets just a sign that say caution wet floor there is leaks all over the store and its a new store the lady said the back room was flooded and they cant use the air conditioner because of the leaks in the roof is leaking into it

I have lived in Ochlocknee all my life and always wanted a dollar general in our little small town. I usually stop by there 3-4 times a week. There are no need for grocery carts because you cannot get down an isle for the stock carts in the middle. You have 2 employees there n one is outside smoking while the other one has a line backed up around the corners. I would rather drive to the next town than endure having to squeeze down an isle or stand in long lines. Numerous people are complaining of the same thing. Sorry so long, but felt this needed being brought to someone's attention.

I went into Dollar General today because I had roughly $30 off with my digital coupons. I punched in my phone number associated with my account and none of the coupons came off, this is not the first time. I looked at my receipt as my husband was loading our $72 dollar purchase and noticed that none of the digital coupons came off. I went back in to tell the assistant manager and she told me that I had to bring everything back in. I explained that my husband had already loaded the car. She said it was the only way. I used to work for Dollar General as an assistant manager and knew that she could do it with my receipt. "Nope!" was her reply. The Dollar General in Saint Ignace Michigan is a joke. Not a single person that works there care about their job or community. I would like all of my digital coupons refunded. I understand if it must be on a gift card.

The store employees have nothing to do with the digital coupon app, that is all handled at a cooperate level. There is at the bottom of the app page on your phone a link to technical support for your use. Stop blaming everyone that works at the store/
If your digitalis did not come off you can not get refunded for them. That would be giving you free cash because you think your entitled to it. They did their job just because it's not the way you wanted it done does not mean your entitled to anything.
They can't just use a receipt to do a refund. They have to scan the products or they risk getting fired.

I'd like to make a complaint on behalf of the Cookson OK dg store! This tore when first come to cookson was amazing! The manager Starla was awesome and took care of the store very well! She left and the store is a disaster! There is stuff everywhere all the time. Employees are a ridiculous mess and haven't a clue how to operate! I loves going into the store, now I dread it every time! Someone needs to get control of this store before it ends up worse than it is! Someone who cares about the store and the employees that help operate it would be a nice first step!

I am a currently employee for Dollar General. I work at the store in Bunkie, La & I would really like to stay anonymous. I really enjoyed working there because it was close to home and I was really good at what I did & the customers love me because I show great customer service. On my last day that I worked I came in for my 7-3 shift & immediately asked my Store Manager (R.O.) what do I need to do during customers because I am always on register. He proceeds to tell me what to do.. so after I thought he was finished I begin to start working on my task.. he then stops & says "HEY BIG MARLEE... I MEAN MARLEE!" & starts laughing about it! There were two other associates that were there, one was an asst.store manager.. I was so embarrassed & my feelings were so hurt, but I brushed it off because I've been called worse before. But I don't think I can continue to work somewhere where my boss makes fun of me & talks about me behind my back because that was obviously not the first time he's said it because of how comfortable he felt saying it. I will not be returning to work & I hate to leave without putting in my 2 weeks notice, but I'm sorry I just can't face him at work. I'm too embarrassed & ashamed. I know I'm a big girl, but I still have feelings. I am a good worker & all of my co workers will vouch for me. I'm sorry, but that you for the chance & opportunity... I hope this doesn't happen to another great employee just because they're over weight.
false advertising
In some of your weekly specials you advertise a certain group of drinks for sale. one in particular is A&W root beer. This cannot be found in any General Dollar stores in the vicinity where I live (a total of 5). Please address this for me because I am a root beer addict. If you can't provide the products in your stores DON'T advertise them. I live in Elmore county in Alabama.
I am very willing to bet that on the flyer there is a place that states "selections vary by store" Not every store sells every brand.
