I work for Dollar General 16407 I have been there for almost two years. I have filled in at two other stores during inventory and when they needed extra help. I am 55 years old and one of the oldest at my store. We have a manager in training that has taken over and stays on her phone all the time. I understand that she has to answer when it is the district manager or things like that but most of the time she is on the phone with her domestic partner. I have never had an evaluation, nor have I had a raise in pay. I mainly put-up stock which is the position that I wanted. But, when the manager in training shows favorites among the employees that she hires it is most definitely not fair. They came in making more money than the three of us older people. I think that some of it is age discrimination! Two of my co-workers that have been there since the store opened work every bit as hard as I do and even, they don't make as much as the younger people that were just hired do. One is an asm and the other is a key holder. Talk about not fair! It bothers me that the younger people are given tasks like putting up sales tags, that should have been done Saturday night and us older ones are tasked with putting up stock and have a certain amount of time to see that it is done. Why is it that the younger staff cannot help with stocking. The evening group doesn't help with stocking because of recovering the store and cleaning, which I also understand. But, that isn't done either. I guess I will get fired after this but it is to the point where something has to be done. The discrimination at this store is ridiculous!
Desired outcome: I would like to actually get an evaluation that is fair with a raise attached. And I would also like to see the younger staff actually do something that has to be done, instead of talking on their phone.
