Staff are rude, unprofessional, and not customer oriented. Staff often get angry with customers and literally have screaming matches with customers as I witness last week - cussing and all! Today (I counted) 18 people on line with myself included. I yelled from my position in line, which was number 12, to the cashier - "can you call for back-up"? The manager, Jessica, was approaching a register and immediately caught an attitude. She said with a scrowl on her face and with a bitter tone "I am opening a register" and then rolled her eyes. I said "you guys need to pay attention - it's like this every Sunday. There shouldn't be this many customers on line, waiting. She said "I am not serving you - so you can back over to that line." I said "this store is lazy and this doesn't make sense" and went back to the other line because I was not going to have a shouting match with her. Ten minutes later I was still in line so I left without purchasing the items that I needed. It's the only one in my area so I don't know what to think but I do know that Dollar Tree needs to be more selective about the class of people that they hire.
filthy conditions and rude employees
I have been an avid customer ever since the dollar tree opened in fort worth on sycamore school road and McCarty. This past year the store conditions are always dis organized, product always in 5he isles, foul smells imiting from the restrooms and most of the employees ate extremely rude. Please do whatever possible to a dress the adforementioned. I am at the point of going else where to do my shopping. All of my friends share the same sentiment...thanks in advance
unethical behavior
After losing my phone to auto tire spray leaking on it from inside the store, I called claims and explained that I had to overdraft my account, the claims letter told me I should learn how to budget my money. Called back to see if the phone call could be traced and told the lady that I had death in the family this morning. While explaining about the 1st phone call, the screamed out loud at me with no sympathy, then said, I'm sorry after being called out. They need to get claim reps that can deal with issues and not be in their personal feelings. This is not professional. I am very disappointed that the Dollar Tree has people like this in the background working for them.
hahahaha better learn how to manage your money
the employees are disrespectful
I went to the dollar tree at the rockaway blvd location with my daughter and they told me my daughter cannot come in the store with her bookbag when they were other kids in the store with backpacks on. The work continued to speak to me in a disrespectful manner and i had to leave all my merchandise at the store. I have been so disrespected so much by a business in my life. They are the most rude and disrespectful people i have ever met at a dollar tree and i will never be shopping there again
employee
My child was holding a toy and she screamed from across the store rudely. Didn't want to greet me later when I was in line and when I added gum in the checkout when she was already ringing up my stuff, she made an upset face. As People were coming in she didn't want to greet them while she was still Ringing up my things. Made it tense for me and uncomfortable all by the way she address me and my child, who was just holding a long toy. Didn't want to say thank you when she handed me receipt, so I said have a Blessed day instead. I don't think people should be treated like this, so I thought I'd tell you about Store 12807 and her name is Chanelle.
disgusting environment
This store is so filthy and cluttered with boxes everywhere...I use to think they were there to stock but when they're still there months later I'm thinking NOT... And the cashiers line is a JOKE...always I mean always there's only one cashier line open at all times...And the WOW factor is the only cashier has to STOP checking the customers OUT and go over and blow up balloons... The carpet is dirty and looks like it had some type of water damage... The clutter of the back-stocked boxes sitting in all the aisle ways has to be a fire hazard.
service
I stop at this store daily before picking up my grandson from school .After picking out the items I went in for I got in a long line at the only register open . As I later found out was a trainee . There were at least 3 employees stocking shelves . After waiting in line several minutes the cashier yelled to someone in the office he needed change, a slovenly looking woman with no uniform on poked her head out the door and told him they didn't have any change, they have to go to bank so he can use pennies! I yelled can you open another register ? There were 8-10 people in line . She replied " we have to do our draws " no apology... nothing . I finally cashed out and promptly knocked on the office door and asked for the manager and then she came up aside of me and I asked for the phone number of the regional office she said " o.k . And closed the door and I stood waiting another 4-5 min . She then gave me the number and I happily left anxious to be on time for my grandson ... rude to not consider many people waiting in line with a trainee at register .. manager dropped the ball on that one . She should have opened another register . And apologized .

10/10/17 This is just 1/2 of it, I have whole ad
- Shopping Carts - so let me get this straight, When you enter a store, its not too much labor to walk over to the cart area to get a cart / shopping basket, but to put them back - or at least near so its not in the way of the register is too much work all of a sudden? When you people take the shopping carts out its too much to labor to push it to a safe area in the parking lot where it isn't in the way of on coming traffic or other customers that would like to park? You people who do this - i seriously hope you become a victim of a mass shooting with no remorse or mercy.
- General Shopping & Putting items random places - This is the worst of it all when it comes to any retail store, especially mines. If something falls on the sales floor, wouldn't a decent adult - no human being pick it up at least? Isn't that a hazard for other shoppers in the store? What happens when an employee or customer hurt themselves off something you left on the ground after dropping it? You people who do this should just immediately get cancer or HIV and die a slow death, [censor] YOU.
lmao! people really do suck! they just leave carts everywhere!
General manager of sheridan wy store
I was accused of shoplifting by an employee named Jenny Looper. I came in the store around 830 pm with something I had purchased before even going into that store. I somehow dropped my wrapper while shopping and did not notice. I was approached by the manager before leaving telling me that I need to show her the wrapper from the candy bar I had taken. I told her she could check her cameras because I had walked in the store with the item I was eating. She then began saying that I need to go find my wrapper. I did walk through the couple aisles that I was in to retrieve it but did not find it. She was extremely rude and berating to me, again accusing me of stealing, telling her I needed to find an associate and show them a receipt, also saying that they "work very hard" to keep the store clean even though the floor around me was clearly dirty and hadn't been taken care of at all. Regardless, I was accused of shoplifting when I did no such thing.

I think he is getting pay to be a BULLY and his favor worth is "Assume ". don't be surprise that some one else come for IT defense, IT has dummies that get in the conversation to defend IT. Don't worry one day he is going to get his head out of the monkeys [censor] that he was born from. By the way I have the knowledge and the resources to find out who IT is. service
I went to pay and I had coupons the lady at the Register was huffing, puffing and rolling her eyes at me because she had to scan my products and coupons. I finished payed and went to my car when I realized I payed to much and she didn't credit the coupons. I go back in and asked for the manager. The manager comes to me like I annoyed like if I was bothering her. I explained the situation to her and she tells me that if the machine didn't take it there was nothing she can do about it. I explained that this is not the first time I used coupons at dollar tree and she took a look at the receipt for a little bit and went to check the products to come back and tell me that the coupon and products do not match. I tryed to explain it to her but she wouldn't hear it and would not refund me my money and just gave me back the coupons. Her attitude and cash register lady attitude really sucked. I was humiliated and embarrassed by the whole situation. Especially knowing that I used the coupons before and they passed just fine.
Discrimination actions on my 6 years old with autism.
I was shopping at store 6416 in Brownsville Texas around the southnost area, with my autistic son. my son started to get frustrated and impaction, he had a small episode. A few seconds later the store manager got on the intercom and made a announcement that quoted: " attention parents we need to keep your kids under control and next to you at all times. and an other reminder is. that if your kids brake anything in the store you will be obligated to pay for it" This was communicated on English and Spanish. As some that she made the commends all eyes were looking at us like we are bad parents and cant control my kids. Someone that know about this condition will understands my son behaver. This was the must embarrassing thing that my son and I have gone thru on a retail store. I feel like my son was and inconvenience to the store. I fell that my son was discriminated due to his condition. I was so frustrated that I Cry and that sad part was that my son was looking at me cry and he stated to cry and apologizing to me. Do you think it was necessary for them to get on the intercom and make those type of comments !?
Thank you so much for your comment. The store was not busy it was about one hour to close. we were the only family with kids in the store at that particularly time my kids are well behave I have rules when we go to public places. I worked in retail my self for over 30 years as management so I could relate with frustrations in the retail market but number one priority is customer service. For an other customer to said that they do those type of announcements often it makes me think that it a lack of training in the chain of common. Also i want to congratulate you for being your self. I pray to god that my son becomes an independent person in the future.
This is not discrimination. Basically the manager has to look out for the safety of other customers and employees. While I agree with you that making the announcement is going too far and he could have handled it better, you have to understand it in his point of view.
PS, I know this is off topic, but arguing with someone who is most likely 11, and calling him names shows your own maturity. I understand that afajda's comments are rude but he is most likely a child, what is your excuse for immature behavior?
Oh and before you comment. I am not the manager of the store, nor do I have any connection with Dollar Tree, or any of the posters telling you that you are wrong. I can understand you calling afajda ignorant, but the other poster made valid points. If you cannot discuss things in a civil manner then you probably should not have shard your story with us. Autistic or not it is your job as a parent to supervise your son. To keep him with you at all times.
Shut up 11 year old I hate when people try to be "strong" or "tough" >:[ SHUT UP ALREADY! P.s if you reply u are a [censor] :p
Honestly? My son has autism too but that's not everyone else's problem I get a babysitter or go to the store when he's in school so I dont think your in the right on this one - if he was having a melt down or being disrespectful or loud in the store it's your responsibility to remove him from that store asap
Please don't feel like i am looking for excuses, As you know, there are different types of autism. My son doesn't act like this, he is a calm kid. I refuse to deprave my son from public places because of peoples ignorance. I want my son to experience life as everyone is. My issues is that this situation should it be handle differently, I was the only customer with kids at the store and my son should not be treated that way in public. Thank you for your advice.
ASSuming, that is you. I did not mention that my kid was running or playing in the store because he was not doing that my son was using his hand as juster and making sounds with his mouths but because you are ignorant and you like to ASSume you don"t know. HERE EDUCATE YOUR SELF, READ this then ASSume.
AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER include social, communication, and behavioral challenges. These problems can be mild, severe, or somewhere in between.
Unusual repetitive behaviors and/or a tendency to engage in a restricted range of activities are another core symptom of autism. Common repetitive behaviors include hand-flapping, rocking, jumping and twirling, arranging and rearranging objects, and repeating sounds, words, or phrases. Sometimes the repetitive behavior is self-stimulating, such as wiggling fingers in front of the eyes.
DISCRIMINATION The Disability Rights Section of the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice handles complaints of discrimination based on disability in places of public accommodation, including all hotels, restaurants, "Retail Stores", theaters, health care facilities, convention centers, parks, and places of recreation.
If you need more education about it let me know or you could continue to ASSume.
Who is talking about eye contact, read right.. by the way it sounds like you type the same comments all over again. are you getting pay by comments?
look you misspell
I think you are right and she is too in a way. Most everyone knows their kids and knows what they can handle form their kids. If you feel you can't handle taking your autistic child to the store and feel it would be in the best interest of yours, his and others in the store to not take him in, you are perfectly right in doing just that. I commend you as a parent for knowing and admitting that to do so might be an unpleasant experience for your child and others. However, if she feels that her son should not be denied the experience of going to stores than she has every right to do so. But the catch here is to know her and her son's limitations and to be respectful of others in the store. It's perfectly okay to take him out of the store should he seem like he needs a break. It would be the polite thing to do for all concerned. You're wanting him to experience the store should not mean that other people should be subjected to a less than pleasant experience. After all you can always take him back to the store later on. Besides if he learns to equate going to the store with a negative experience he might start to act out about going out or feel uncomfortable. I've worked in he medical profession for several years and have dealt with quite a few situations. I can tell you there is no shame in removing an autistic and or special needs person ( or any other child) from a situation if they need a break and then returning later. As for the employees in the store, I don't know if they knew that he's autistic . A lot of times parents don't take into consideration that their children's actions might make others uncomfortable because it's what's normal to them. I find that even people who have children who aren't autistic expect the world to be accepting of their children's behavior. they say oh they're just little or he or she is just that way or it's natural for a child to act out and we don't believe in disciple, timeout or removing them from a situation when they act out. It's not fair to the child, to other people in the store or even to you because you're not being truthful to yourself and admitting that maybe he needs a break. Not trying to be mean, because maybe you didn't realize that sometimes it's okay to remove him from the situation and give him time to break. Every parent loves their child and wants them to be as happy as possible and experience life to the fullest. I do hope this has not caused him to equate going out as a negative thing and that you two will have many great outings in the future. God bless!
You must have been a bully in your life to think it is okay to harass children with disabilities. You also bullied me on my own review.
First of all thank you for posting your experience on here. I'm not sure if there were any other children "misbehaving" in the store that day, but I would imagine that the store manager (and most likely the other employees as well) had become so aggravated that they decided to take matters into their own hands. From what you've said, I agree that the store manager came across as harsh when she made her announcement over the intercom. Theft is a common occurrence at dollar stores, committed by customers and employees alike (why do you think we have such high turnover rates?), so I'm not too shocked by what she did. During orientation, my store manager told all of us that for every product that gets stolen or damaged, we need to sell 20 more products to make up for the loss. Had I been the store manager, I would've left you be, and if you felt that your son needed to take a break from shopping due to sensory overload, then that's your call. As an Autistic employee of a Dollar Tree in Massachusetts (albeit one that hasn't disclosed their diagnosis to management as it my legal right not to), I can relate to what your son felt that day as I've been subject to condescending stares and insensitive comments at various points throughout my life for behaviors I had little control over.
Quite the contrary. I regularly check and comment on sites like these to see how employees like myself can make shopping at Dollar Tree a more pleasant experience for our customers.
As I've stated previously, none of my commentary on here has been negative towards Dollar Tree. I have been very respectful to those I've responded to and explained to them how the situation would be perceived on our end as employees. Thanking them for posting what they've experienced at any given store and apologizing to them as a way of expressing sympathy for it is constructive, not destructive, for Dollar Tree's business.
discrimination, retaliation, and would say harassment
My name is Eduardo Carrasquillo and I work for DC6, I have worked there for the past 2 years but in the past about 4 months I have been having lots of problems with a new manager named Jarrod Moyer, 2nd shift manager for shipping and that is the area I have been working at for all this years, this manager has followed me, yelled at me, and has used retaliation. I do not speak English so I don't understand what he is saying to me and what I do understand, I just reply "ok". I have a loud tone of voice and I don't speak the language i try to communicate with my hands. Anyways, I went to the office on the 28th of September for a rotation problem and wanted to speak to someone. I requested a translator that could understand what I was saying but one of my coworkers tried to translate but again they would treat me rudely and say I was disrespecting them. At that point I spoke to Joel Simms, when I stepped out I saw Phil and spoke to him and my translator explained that is my tone of voice, ok that was then on the 4th of October I got injured of my back witch i went to doctor and put me on light duty and the first day i ran the scrubbber but it made it worst, so yesterday i go to the ball station or inflation and I'm filling up balls and was there for about one hour and half and this is located right by the office of the managers, one of the managers named Varrick Chambers comes and gives me safety glasses and i understood him that i have to put them on i grabbed them and put then on the table b/c i was already done 2 boxes were already done and i had no more balls to fill, so i tell him ok and like i said put them 1on the table, he then starts yelling at me that i had to put them on but i was done had no balls to fill and he continued to yell so i was getting upset because he is yelling at me like he is my father or worst son i walk away to go to the bathroom and he goes and gets the other manager Jarrod and run after me then i stop and there they are talking to Jana Temple witch speaks some Spanish and she goes to me and says what happen and i say i don't know I'm heading to the bathroom, so they take me to the office with all this managers and Joel says if i also have problems with Varrick and i said i have no problems and was trying to explain what happen in the ball station and that i did not understand why i was there because i did not say anything at all to him i just walked away to avoid conflict so they just tell me that i have to give them my badge, i got suspended and i still don't know why for the past months I've been having problems if i have questions of things that i believe are unfair ext. i been feeling singled out never had such problems I'm a very hard worker, but the problem is with me all the time, there are a lot of things that could be fixed in this place but the first thing is the way they treat the employees, i know they are managers and they need respect but they also need to respect us, with a please and thank you is good enough and but yelling at us of giving us attitude i believe I've been retaliated and discriminated because i don't speak English and harrast by my manager Jarrod Moyer witch even when I go to the bathroom he follows me i don't know i have a family and I'm very hard working but for the past months I've been mistreated and now for this silly thing witch i don't understand I have been suspended, another thing I don't know what they say to each other and when I say my side of the story it seems that I'm wrong and they believe what ever they say just because they are managers. I included a photo where can see that there were 2 full boxes and that is looking and located right by the managers office and that after I finished is when all this happend.
customer service in store
I was in the mebane location about 10 minutes ago. There was only one associate running register and one helping with balloons. I assume the one doing balloons was a manager. Once she finish she came over and said ill take next in line...so the other people motion for me to go. Once i get there she says loud i said the next in line im a black female so i took it to be racial. And degrading and most of all embarrassing. she then says do yall have a problem with her being next and and verse just letting it go she then states to me i didnt want you to be disrespectful to those who were waiting... Umm i was waiting to patiently. I was not raised nor am i now a racist . most people would have cussed her out and walked off. I suggest some customer service training...im a transit supervisor i deal with thousands a day and i teach customer service id never treat anyone like she did me...I felt like i was scolded like a child and far as respect where was mine as a paying customer im disappointed and ill never go to this particular location again !
erika the manager
Stoped in the dollar tree on Atlantic in Brooklyn. This particular day we stopped in to purchase 75 beer mugs to host an event in. The lines were extremely long with only 2 people working the floor, which is usually the norm at this shop. I politely asked the team member if there was anyone to help out. She said the manager is busy. The manager finally came out and risky communicated to the customers that she is busy doing work in the office and couldn't support the team. This became and entire big situation. As your manager began to talk rudly to us and ultimately made the decision not to serve us at all. She also said some racial slurs and said that we was doing to walk out with the merchandise because we were black. This is unexceptable and me being a manager for a big corporation and knowing that people is everything. You need to really work with your managers or train them how to deal with difficult situations.
manager named miranda
Like to start out by saying I did shop at this store at least 4 to 5 times a week even more near holidays. I normally am not the complaining type but I have had problems with this manager on 2 seperate occasions the first being the end of september when I asked if they sold hammers she was talking to an employee when I asked and she just put her finger in the air at me.. I stepped to the side and waited just to realize they were talking bad about another employee using not so great language might I add she said ' im sick of that b* telling me what to do thats why im gonna take her job. I think most of the people that work here like me more anyway because im more laid back'. And right before she walked off she said 'Im sick of this f*ing place' Once she noticed that I was walking off she asked 'what did u want'. I asked if they sold hammers and she said 'tractor supply is next door' and walked off.? How is she a manager? Ok my second run in with Mrs. Miranda was October fourth not sure of the exact time but it was morning I would be able to give the time if I wouldnt have walked out and left my buggy of stuff sitting on the isle. My pastor and I were shopping for some supplies for the church when we heard loud cussing coming from the office in the corner of the store. We were not the only ones to hear it a woman with three kids left the store before we did leaving her items also. She said ' who in the hell left this f*ing mess in here. Im f*ing sick of these people. Nobody knows how to f*ing clean up after themselves. This s*t is gonna stop' like I said I had the pastor with me so we both headed for the door and when we got almost to the door Miranda walked out the office on her cell phone. Not to sure whats gonna be done about this but I think that it is ridiculous that we can't shop without hearing this mess and if this has happened to me twice how many other customers and kids for that matter have heard this or worse. I personally feel like she isnt manager material for one she doesn't know how to handle customers and two she can't handle her temper. Mypaster addressed this matter in church Wednesday night and im sure she has hindered your business because as long as she is in that store we will not shop there. We will keep her in our prayers and we hope to be able to do business with u soon and thank you for your time. We would love to hear back if thats possible.
customer service
I am at the Dollar tree on old Keene Mill road in Burke VA someone whose name tags stated management told me she had to close her mind even though I was the last customer waiting in line with a four-year-old child and had been standing in that line for 5 minutes already sent me to another hour the person in front of me had a hundred items maybe and I had to wait even longer was just very rude and my transaction I had six items would have taken less than one minute but she didn't she just closed her lane on me with no warning
I have concerns about store 03678
I have strong reason to believe that their store manager have been stealing from the safe and trying to pin it on one of the mangers that work there. I also have reason to believe that there is retaliation going on due to the fact the store manager there keep getting complaints. He is writing up his employees with out notifying them of such action against them. He have paper work that have not been signed cause no one knows of such. The store manager there is trying to build false documentation against his staff in fear that he would be found out. He also have a young lady there who he personally knows and trying to make manager she tell him everything if some is going to report or not so he can build a file against them. Its said that if the store manager leave he will try to have the other employees there lose their jobs. I'm tired of seeing good people get fired there just because know one listen to the staff complain about their store manage.
Have you contacted Human Resources AND reviewed the Dollar Tree employee handbook with regard to this issue? Because if not, this is a serious allegation you've raised against your store manager (potential embezzlement here!). Without getting HR and your DM involved, you are placing yourself and your fellow coworkers in a position where retaliation becomes inevitable if your claims are indeed true. Oh wait, he's already begun retaliating; in that case you can report this to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).
customer service

overcharging — being charged for multiple items when fewer were actually purchased
On Sept 30, I shopped at the Fort Wayne Dollar Tree Store #719. I purchased cleaning supplies and several other items; among the items was ONE bottle of Palmolive dish detergent. I bought a few items for a work-related event (small metal easels) so later I had to turn in the receipt and noted I had been charged for TWO bottles of dish detergent.
This same thing happened about a month ago at the same store. That time I was overcharged by the clerk who added two additional items to the number of floral foam blocks I purchased. I also had to turn that receipt into work and knew EXACTLY how many blocks I had actually purchased but the receipt showed two additional ones. I went back that time with the receipt, ALL the items in my bag, and the clerk said he could not do anything about it, that I would have to come back and speak to the store mgr. who was not there at the time. Finally another clerk or asst. mgr. got $2 out of a drawer, put a note in and gave me my refund.
I am not going back this time for a $1 refund. However, I will NOT shop at this particular Dollar Tree again. I note that the clerks let things stack up on the counter before backing them and I think that is how these errors occur. I have not had such errors at other Fort Wayne Dollar Tree stores. The clerks at this store do not seem well trained.
Dollar tree at Eldridge, Houston overcharges it’s customers. For the third time, they charged me for more items than I had purchased. (Usually 1 or 2 additional items). When I had asked for a refund they said sorry, they need supervisor. The supervisor finally came but did not help and was very rude. Not going to that Dollar tree again.
customer service/respect
I am a girl under the age of 18 and I went with my two friends also under the age of 18 into a dollar tree to kill some time. We had leggings on with no pockets and a tee shirt. 45 minutes later an employee started yelling at us from across the store telling us not to touch anything... we complied. Them about 5 minutes later she kicked us out. When I asked for a reason, she said you can't be in here. I do not frequent at the store. So how would she know my face. This is an employee that I have never seen before and she chased us across the store to Yell at us and kick us out. We picked up one thing with the potential of buying it and she told us to put that down and keep us at the store. We had money and we were going to do a $50 shopping. I live in Atlanta Georgia. Specifically in the part of Norcross
