store conditions
I have worked and shopped in retail stores for over 40 years and I have never seen a store in worse condition that my visit to your store in Westgate in Albany N.Y I never seen a store more disorganized and dirty then that . I would even go as far to question is anything in that store safe to buy . I have always been pleased when I shop your store in Glenmont N.Y It is my hope that you address this serious problem One more thing it would be great if you made your web site easier for customers to contact you . I know it is great to try to hear only positive comments . As one the people in the main office I worked for said if you have a unhappy customer they may never come back in their life time and that can be a long time
your customer service is very very poor
it should not be this hard to list comments
customer complaint
I have been shopping at this location for a few month's. I usually stop off when i leave work. I love the Dollar Tree, never had any issues with this store, very friendly management and worker's . I have changed hrs at my work place so now i go in at a later time. I alway's get one cashier in the evening's, she never call's for back up and the line is crazy, she is so rude to all her worker's and manager's that are on duty. She seem's to have an issue with almost every customer that is on her line's. One customer asked her if she can use the phone to call a cab because her car broke down outside, she refussed to let her use it and told her to walk to the gas station. The manager that was on duty was called up, she apologized to the woman and let her use the telephone. This register person need's to have training in customer service or personality training, very rude to all customers and worker's unpleasant to shop in now .

As on 8/26/2016 I arrive at store [protected] US Highway 19 S Thomasville, GA 31757. What happen. I have a son that has a brain injury. He can not have any type of energy drinks. He ask a cashier where they are in the store. I let the cashier know he can not have any type. One cashier was very nice and told him they were out. Jennifer comes from behind the counter and told him where they are. She told me when a customer ask a question she has to tell them.
Thanks to Jennifer I am now sitting here in the doctors office trying to get my son to under control. When he drinks these drinks it causes him to throw things. I do not feel safe coming to this Dollar Tree.
Jennifer said this is what she is train to do.
I would like for Jennifer to understand when a customer tells her a brain injury person can not have something respect the person in charge.
She was very uncaring. I will not be coming back to this store until she is gone.
How old is your son that he refuses to follow a doctor's orders? If the son is over the age of 18, then legally he is an adult and the employee is right to follow store policy. If the son is under 18, he is a minor and the employee should follow mother's policy. If he is under 18, then instead of blaming the employee, mom should be beating her kid's butt for not doing as he is told.
unethical behaviour
The last 3 times I shopped there I reported a 2 liter soft drink bottle that had been opened and resealed to the manager, assistant manager and a cashier. Each time I had identified the brand, flavor, where it was including which shelf it was on, and that the bottle wasn't hard and could be squeezed to identify it. Each time I left the store, I waited to see if they would go to retrieve it because I was the only one in the check out line, or to page another employee to pull it from the shelf. Each time neither was done, and the same bottle was on the shelf where it was last time.
This isn't the first product that I had to watch out for when I was in shopping, among the other items was a 16 ounce candy bar that had been opened, sitting on the shelf and the back was taped shut so unless I was looking for tampered packaging I wouldn't have noticed it.
Other issues I had with this company at this location was the cashier allowing another customer in the check out line to verbally assault me over a minute then walk off. The same manager that did not take action to check on the soft drink that had been opened and resealed, didn't even make a comment when I spoke with him about the clerk. I had even filed a complaint on the corporate web site about the incident over the verbal assault, asking if they take steps to provide a safe environment for individuals with a mobility impairment or those that have young children with them that come in to shop. I got no written response and 2 weeks later had called and asked to be transferred to customer service, got a voice mail prompt and left a voice mail. Again I didn't even receive a response.
My conclusion is this company doesn't concern itself with customer experience to improve itself. Each time I shop there, I do a quick visual check before I enter the store to make sure that it looks safe to enter; and if I go in, I always have to double check what I buy to make sure it hasn't been tampered with.
customer hazards!
August 6th, 2016 - My daughter and I went to Springfield and stopped in to pick up a few little gift items. I first noticed an end cap shelf leaning up against the existing shelves with the hooks pointed out. If someone stepped on the edge, it would hit them like a rake pole in the face. I thought it would be an isolated incident...not so. The store aisles were littered with boxes and toys all over the floor. Shelves were so messy that I felt very uncomfortable being there. We literally had to walk around things on the floor like a maze to get to the other end of the aisle. Checking out, my daughter didn't want to touch the credit card machine. She said there were crumbs stuck in the keys. The windows were also nasty. I asked the register girl if the store just moved in. She said they had been there around 3 years. I owned a business for 15 years and never in a million years would I have ever allowed any of my employees to represent me in such a way. I will never step foot in that store again and I pray that you take notice of this complaint. The customers are in high danger of a severe injury. We are your eyes where you do not see and a voice when your employees will not reveal. This store is rated 3.8 - This needs to be changed. Your presence is required in this store!
Simply put, watch where you are walking.
rude cashier (# 2770695 suzy)
Went shopping @ the store 8/2/16 18:22. When I got up to the counter to check out, the counter was wet with something. I asked Suzy if there was something to wipe the mess away and she replied in a very snotty attitude that she had nothing to wipe counter with. (Okay, it would of ruined her day to walk over to where the paper towels were and use some to wipe the counter down?) Suzy then said, just hand them over and I will scan them...one item @ a time. I had (21) items. Paying with my credit card I grabbed the pen to answer questions that were being asked of me on the terminal that you scan your credit card through and she yelled @ me and told me that the pen doesn't write. I just looked @ her and said nothing. The entire time I was waiting for her to wrap-up my purchases, she was talking to another employee that was working there at the same time. She might as well of been on her cell phone for the time it took to check me out. When the transaction was over, Suzy didn't even say anything, but her co-worker spoke up and said have a good night.
Dollar Tree Stores have no room for rude Customer Service employees. I can tolerate a lot before I get to the point of writing this complaint, but Suzy was the "kicker". She has no people skills, no manners, no recognition of what her job duties are. Many people are looking for jobs in my area and would be more than pleasant to customers who shop @ the Dollar Tree. Suzy should be let go. I am assuming that she treats all of her shoppers with the same complete lack of politeness that is a huge part of her job.
I shop @ this store often and have never had this experience in 10 years.
I appreciate your time and understanding.
Sincerely,
Dorothy Dressler
You shop at this store often. I can see where the hostility comes from.
Oh, and no, she could not just walk over and grab paper towels off the shelf.
condition of store/lack of employees
There is a Dollar Tree located at 1500 Government St in Mobile, AL (I am not aware of the store number). This location is in horrible shape no matter what day of the week or time of day that I enter it. I work in the same shopping center, so myself and my coworker shop there often for snacks, headache medicine, drinks, etc.
Today, around 12:30pm, we entered the store to purchase drinks to have with our lunch. (this shopping center is very busy during the middle of the day) The shelves were very bare, floor was filthy, and the entire store was unorganized. When it came time to check out, there was only 1 cashier, and the line to check out was over halfway to the back of the store. (literally) A male customer (who was also on his lunch break) asked the cashier if she could call someone else up front to help. The cashier replied. "No, because the other cashier is in the back."
There is no customer service in this store at all. They take no pride in the appearance of their store. The drink coolers were even less than one-third full.

Yesterday July 15th, 2016 I went to the dollar tree located on 4055 S Maryland Pkwy in Las Vegas NV 89119, only to be mistreated and embarrassed nonetheless by the manager. I went into the store to by a newspaper from Sunday and I checked two of then because I wanted the inserts inside it and being it was Friday I know it was unlikely there were going to be intact based on my experienced with the store at least. I took only one newspaper out of the two left and went to check other stuff. Little that I knew the manager whose name is Heather by the way was calling out to me and asking me if I took the coupons from the other newspaper, I said no and even clarified the other newspaper was not the brand that has the coupons but she stood there not moving and I offered her the newspaper I had on hand to check I only had a set of coupons. She took the newspaper as other people that were in the line were looking back to she scene she created. She checked the newspaper and said I sorry and left when she realized I didn't steal the coupons. I this point I think she did that because I am Hispanic and she just decided since I wasn't white I was capable of stealing or worth the embarrassment on her account. I felt so bad and so humiliated that I called the store to complain to the manager, I didn't want her to loose her job or anything but I wanted to prevent it to happen to others and to my surprise she picked up the phone and she was the manager. I just said to her I am the person you embarrassed by accusing of stealing and her answer to me was I said I was sorry. I said something else and she said I am not going to argue with you and hung up. Honestly I feel so bad that I am never stepping into that store again I was mistreated twice by the same person who by the way is the manager in person and over the phone. That store has many issues I had been in line for close to 40 minutes because there is always one register open even though there is always someone around but doesn't help, And still I stand there even just out of a 14 hours shift at work just like yesterday and don't say a work in fact this is the only time I have ever written a review but I just feel so mistreated and discriminated because of my race I had to say something. I don't want anything other than this person to not have the power to do it to someone else
The same situation happened to me and this is the fifth time. I am contacting customer service and may pursue it further.
made family and myself feel like thieves
I went shopping to Dollar Tree on 7/16/16 at 8:00pm on Randall Rd. In Algonquin, IL, store #4079. If was like 5 minutes after going in the store when the cashier announces in the intercome, " security on aisle 2". It was only my sister, her husband, her 2 kids, my mother, grandmother, my husband, my 2 daughters, and myself. After that there was a guy following us around the entire time we were in the store. I even went up to the guy and told him it was ridiculous that we were being followed and he only stared and ignored and continued following us. The employee at the register had a name tag that said Angela (female) and another floor employee had a name tag that said Dawn (female)and the jerk that following us around didnt even show me that tag, but he was white, long hair, thick shape body. I am dignified I have no need or look like a thief.
Humiliated by rude sales associate for not giving to their charity!
When I shopped at Dollar tree on 7/7/16 store #3359 I was harassed to make donation to their charity, I refused and got into a big argument with the employee, K. Lomara #[protected], at the store #3359 on 4655 N Western Ave, Chgo, ILL. She even drew another customer into the argument against me and they both made fun of me and were even laughing about it in front of a long line of customers. I complained about this before and the employee told me he will win a contest if he gets the most donations. The time was at 6:00 PM and after going into this store from day one of its opening I can never go back into there again without animosity, I will go anywhere but to dollar tree to shop and pay more and NEVER be Harassed, Humiliated, and Embarrassed again. Who do the employee's think they are, fighting and arguing with customers over making them give them donations? This is a policy to harass and cheat their customers into giving them money. Extortion! Dollar tree doesn't make enough from their crappy merchandise so they have to extort money from their customers? I will be sharing this on all social media and their pages there also.
First of all I do not believe you do not work for Dollar tree or have someone that does as a relative, or some other vested interest in Dollar Tree. This was in your first response: " I have had customers make smart remarks when we ask for charity donations." I can see you are now trolling my complaint and calling me names to discredit my legit complaint. This is what I expected so I filed complaints with dift agencies that will investigate a verified, with receipt, customers complaint.
Typical, you are turning it around so it is the customers fault? You right away assume I made a smart remark? This has been going on for a long time asking everyone in line to "DONATE" to your charity and again another sales associate explained that they win a contest if they get the most 'DONATIONS." Your associate sales person had a bad attitude and continued to humiliate me and draw other customers into the "discussion" to make sure she got her way. But it seems to OK to humiliate your customers for "DONATIONS?" Now I suppose she will be PROMOTED for her tough ### bad attitude to your customers? Again I have been a long time customer and have been treated very badly for my loyalty to Dollar Tree. I have also filed this complaint with a photo of my receipt, (so I am a verified customer, ) with other agencies since I expect no satisfaction from your store. If enough complaints are filed you will have to answer for them. Have a nice day.
So you believe that Dollar Tree is the only retail store or location in this country? You are a fool. I actually work in a pharmacy. And yes, our pharmacy does do charitable work and have fundraisers for various charitable organizations. Next time, learn to read and comprehend. Your complaint has absolutely no merit and I think you know it. As for calling you names, I never did that, until now. And you are a fool.
First of all, I will have to answer for absolutely nothing. I have nothing to do with Dollar Tree. I can only assume you think I work there. You are wrong. Second, I am far from typical. I in no way turned it around so that it was your fault. I asked how you got into an argument about it. I was asking for more information since your complaint was not clear.
However, based on your response, I can see how it happened. So, yes, based on your words and your needless attack, I can only assume the argument started with your smart mouth.
How did you get into an argument about it? Just say no. I have had customers make smart remarks when we ask for charity donations. A simple no is all that is required.

Today July 5, 2016 here in Wichita Falls, TX store #1997 Sales associate Tracy cashier #2970163 8:11 PM...My mother, daughter, and I decided to come in and get a few little things. I regret the decision to stop since I never in my life have ever seen such rude employees. Through the whole visit, not once we're we ever greeted by the three employees that were too busy talking in the front of the store. Shelves were very empty and there were boxes on the floor that had yet to be stocked. We found only a few things and went to the front to check out, once again all the employees were still sitting around talking. Only one register light was on, so naturally that was the register we went to. Once everything was placed on the counter, the employee named Tracy walked over as if she were upset that we made her work. She began to scan the items and threw them in the bag. One of the items I purchased was a little toy for my daughter made out of plastic that could easily break. Luckily it didn't break. Not once did she say hello, look up, or say a word to us. I paid and started to place my debit card into my wallet and she held the receipt in front of my face, crumpled it up and threw it at my face. Before we even grabbed our bags she went back to talking to the other employees. I have never met this woman or seen this woman, so there is absolutely no reason I should have been treated in this manner. I will never again return to this store ever again. One of the employees had to have been a manager, so obviously if I complain to the local store nothing would come of the situation. I hope Dollar Tree will see how this type of business could hurt them in the long run. This type of behavior will catch up to the company if they don't fix the issue now. I've worked many years in retail and work now in customer service. People want good interaction and if they find that type of hospitality they are more likely to stick with that company since it's rare to find.
Are you going there to shop or make friends? Did you speak to them? Complaints like this make me wonder why people bother leaving their house. I go to a store, I get my stuff, I want to pay and get out. I do not need to be fawned over like I am the heir to the Hope Diamond.
unethical/rude behavior
We went into store #4331 on July 3, 2016 and were standing in a rather long line. There was a man standing at another register and my husband ask if he was open. He very rudely replied "Do you see a light on?" I told him he did not have to be so rude and he told me, in front of all the customers, "well it is pretty simple". He also said if the light is on I'm open, if the light is off I am not. Yet he still stood at the register even with other customers in line. The gentleman that checked us out was very nice. I ask him who the jerk was and the jerk whirled around and said Russell but I did not get the last name. Imagine my surprise to find out he is the assistant manager. We go to this store often and have always been treated fine. If this is what your management consist of you need to consider the impact on your customers. I will not return if I see him there. He had a pony tail and a sorry attitude.
manager
I am a frequent shopper at the Dollar Tree and spend a lot of money buying items for decorating every month. I also buy gift bags and things also. I went in the day after Memorial Day to purchase specific gift bags that had recently been placed out. When I was checking out I had give the clerk my money. Before she completed the sale she called the manager over stating that 3 of the bags had rung up for a penny. I requested they scan another bag for a dollar because I needed those bags. The manager never looked at me. She just rudely stated she could not sell me those bags. Then ask where I got them. Umm if she would have been nice I would not be upset but she would not address me at all and was so rude. I ask for my money back and left. I'll pay more for those items before I go back and be treated that way. I was t trying to get them for a penny. But I do no the policy and she wasn't following it.
rude and unprofessional behavior of the supervisor, diane of dollar tree, #4666, 34 main ave., clifton, nj 07014
At about 8:20 PM, Thursday, May 26, 2016 at the Dollar Tree store #4666, Clifton, NJ, my wife and I were shopping were acosted by the supervisor Diane, an older female and she started yelling at the my wife who has physically disabled. My wife decided not to buy a certain item and left that item on a different self. Diane apparently saw it and started raising his voice in an embarassing manner ordering my wife to bring the returned item to the front cashier. My wife got nervous and got insulted and hurt by the attitude of Diane. Of course I was also hurt and embarassed in front of the many shoppers in public. I started complaining to her and told her we are the customers and she should not treat us in an ill manner. We are both Asians from the Philippines and Ms. Diane is white and we felt singled out and discriminated. I hurriedly paid the items we bought and left. I swear not to come back shopping at that Clifton store and strongly not recommend that store.
Clearly he said that he felt discriminated against. it happens.
manager
I ordered a few packages to be shipped to this store a couple times now today I went in to get my package that said they were delivered 5/17/16 via email and the manager who was sitting in her office wouldn't come speak to me instead she talked behind her door where I couldn't even see her and was very rude to me instead of being professional and coming out Alicia was her name even her employee said" I'm sorry miss I don't know why she wont come speak to you herself", manager said "well not my problem you didn't read your email correctly and bring in a copy of the receipt" I had it on my phone no where in my email it says bring in a copy it says bring in the receipt and a photo id not a printed receipt... the whole time this manager never came to speak to me face to face she spoke to me from register one which is 7ft from her office I don't even know what this so called "manager" looks like that's very unprofessional she kept telling the employee what to say when I could clearly hear her saying rude things, I will be calling customer support tomorrow to find out where my package is and from here on out ill drive to a different store and be taken seriously I am an adult and deserve professionalism when I go into a business where I spend my hard working money. I'm not asking for anything out of this but for her to take customer service seriously. Ps not everyone is made for customer service and you my dear are one of them!
An employee at the dollar tree
I use to go to the dollar tree in Palo Cedro, Ca, 96073 Store #4797 in tell your employee name Angela R. She is so rude I have been in the store when she is the only one in front and ask her for help she told me "There is nothing that can help my old and fat ###" I haven't been in the store since I have also seen her go into the men's bathroom with men. Something needs to be done so far I have over a 100 people who feel the same way and I can get even more to boycott that store i don't want to because I love that store so please do something about it as soon as possible. I will have a few of the other people do this so you will realize you are going to start lose business and the bad publicly if I have to take it to the papers the Internet and more . thank you
Miss Hover
There are a lot of people who will do this if you don't get rid of Angela R she don't deserve to be an employee at that store she is so rude
Listen I'm writing this and I really don't think anything will be done I saw all the same as everyone else did so please get rid of Angela R at the Palo Cedro dollar tree
That store is the worst since Angela R started working u need to get rid of her I also have people in the next town that will help us to do what ever it take to boycott that store. All she does is she rude, I have seen her do drugs in the bathroom snorting something up her nose I have also seen her buy drugs in the bathroom I also have seen her take bags of stuff with the manager watching her and not pay. Something needs to be done fire Angela R or that store won't stay open with no customer and soon. Or else I want to see some progress soon
Hi I use to go to that dollar tree to intell that women start working there. My daughter who is only 13 years old told me that one time she was at the store and she was buying some candy for a school function but she was 2 dollars short that women she said her name is Angela R. Told my daughter don't worry about it you can have it for free my daughter said to her won't you get in trouble that women told my daughter nope because I'm doing the manager but she said it using the f word so I can do what ever I want.
employees
I had been into that store many times and all the cashiers and even the manager were very rude. The only reason I go there because it is the closest store to my house, and every time I go there I think it is probably only this cashier who's rude, but it keeps on happening every time and I can't take it anymore. They are very rude even to the level that they don't say thank you. They give you the feelings that you are either stealing the items or getting them for free. I can't believe how the corporation is keeping employees in their store like those. I would never go there again. I am welling now to drive even faraway to go to the 99 cent store only and no way to go to this Dollar Tree store any more ( 4240 Kearny Mesa Rd #109, San Diego, CA 92111).
How exactly are the rude? Not saying thank you? Do you say thank you? Do you say hello? When I am shopping I am there to get my crap and get out.
store manager/employees
My employment was brief this second time. The first time I was employed I stopped working due to family. I returned to work at Dollar Tree December 13, 2015 thru March 15, 2016. My manager was Cindy Hildilch and Kelly Brock was the assistant manager.
To my surprise the stores management style had changed. Employees were not showing up for work without notice, money was missing, employees were disrespectful to customers and yet no corrective action from the manager was taken. It was my observation that these same employees received more scheduled hours than those who have a higher work ethic.
During my second time of employment I saw product taken and held for employee purchase before it was put on the shelves for costumers. I saw Cindy, express herself in a unprofessional way in front of both employees and customers on several occasions. There was also favoritism, Cindy allowed her "favorite" people to work more hours than those of us who shared higher work ethic.
I know I did not give notice as I should of, and this has weighed heavy on me. However, the unprofessional and horribly ran store left me feeling I could no longer continue my employment with Dollar Tree. I enjoyed working with the previous manager and her work culture. I just wanted to bring this to light, so these issues may be addressed.
Feel Free to contact me with any questions [protected]

Lydia Gonzales

I have been coming to this Dollar Tree Store #3979 in Port Arthur, TX for the past year and every time I have come into this location it looks like a shambles, the shelves are practically empty, boxes of product sit on the floor of the aisle to be stocked on the shelves, it looks horrible everyday - products have been opened and the trash from that product...
