Family Dollar I bought a broken speaker.

So I bought a speaker in June at the Family Dollar in Newport Vermont. Got it home, charged it, nothing. The thing was broken right out of the box. So I brought it back with my receipt. So the manager Ron and his 2nd in command Brenda were point blank, rude from the gate. Ron started yelling at me that he wasn't giving me store credit or a refund. He stated it was company policy. Then I stated, "that's [censored]ing stupid" the policy not the manager. So about a month has passed and I came into some money. Well I went in to FD yesterday...Spoke to Ron himself. I apologized for any misunderstanding and explained that I was not calling him [censored]ing stupid but the policy. So I asked Ron, can I spend my money in here? He said absolutely NOT! What he didn't know was I was ready to spend $1000 bucks. He turned it down, real money! What a dumb person! Now I will not going to be spending any money with Family Dollar since your company support these kind of actions. Dumb! But on my way out I did call Ron a [censored]TARD! SO I UNDERSTAND IF I AM NOT ALLOWED IN Family Dollar. I ment what I said! So it is what it is. But if he is treating me like this and I lost $43 bucks on the dead speaker, but your company lost at least $1000 yesterday because of him. He acts like he is the king and no matter what his word is law. Bull, take him down a notch or 2.

Desired outcome: Fire Ron!!!!!!! Make Brenda manager. RON IS NO GOOD AND MOST OF NEWPORT ALL SAY THAT RON IS A CLASS A [censored]!!! DO WHAT YOU WILL BUT HE IS LOOSING YOUR COMPANY MONEY!!!!!!

Family Dollar Bathroom Cleanliness

Last Wednesday I was in the Zumbrota, MN store and I had to use the restroom. When I first entered, the smell was horrendous and was filthy. The floor had garbage, the toilet paper holder just had rolls sitting on it and not one was placed correctly. The sick was disgusting, it looked like nobody had washed anything in the restroom for many days, if at all. The walls were splashed with dirty water dripping down, the mirror was splashed as well. I was so disappointed and grossed out, I had to leave the store. This is not appropriate for customers to use. The restroom should be cleaned daily or even two times per day, and supplies kept in stock. I would like someone to contact me in regard to this complaint.

I would also like to mention that the shelves are always messy, and things just thrown in random places, items not marked with a price. This store is fairly new and I am not impressed with the upkeep.

Desired outcome: Bathroom needs to be cleaned at the end of the day for sure, and items stocked and placed correctly. All items on the shelf should be priced and someone should be checking the isles for misplaced items.

Family Dollar Customer service

I actually called to pay a compliment. Unfortunately that has soured me so much I will never shop at any Family Dollar again. I called the corporate office. Nobody was available. That's a strike right there. It put me through to a voice mail, then told me the voice mail was full and no message could be left. What kind of unprofessional company doesn't even check its own voice mail, after having nobody available to answer their calls on top of that? I hit "0," and was on hold for 6-7 minutes. Finally a woman answered. I asked her if I had reached customer service and she said something totally unrelated. I asked her if she would answer my question and she hung up on me. I called back and the same process happened; except after getting the full voice mail and hitting "0," and being on hold for 5 minutes or so, the phone rang as before, and then I heard as the person sent me back to the automated menu. This happened three times. I tried calling another customer support number and every option just told me to go to the store or go on the website. The website has no way of contacting them or providing any kind of feedback at all. No email address, no form, nothing. It's obvious that Family Dollar's opinion is that they don't want to be bothered with you, and if you find a way to call them, they will simply hang up on you and then ignore any subsequent calls from that number. It's pathetic that I intended to actually pay a compliment, and instead I'm so angry at this level of rudeness, ineptness, incompetence, and general disinterest in their customers that I will simply not shop there again. And sorry to the kind individual at the local store whom I wanted to put a compliment in for; sadly, your company is run by nasty individuals who don't care about you or their customers.

Family Dollar Employee

There is a violent worker at my local Family Dollar. He was talking about how some kids who were in the store should be "dead in an ally way with people walking by their rotting corpses," and that the next time they came in he was going to "beat the @$%@ out of them". He was shaking he was so mad and was red in the face. Several customers and I locked eyes and whispered that we were unsettled by him. I told the manager it was upsetting. She let me know that she informed her superiors, but nothing has changed as of yet. She was close to tears, and I believe she is frightened, too. I am a nurse and was and EMT. This employee showed signs of mental health problems. He needs some help, and is a loose cannon who I believe will harm someone. I haven't been back to that store out of fear. I can't imagine having to work with a violent person like that. I worry about the manager, too. I've attempted to contact Family Dollar about this several times, with no luck.

Desired outcome: Either mental health support for the employee, or removal from customer contact so he doesn't harm someone.

Family Dollar Store #5847 in Brownsville texas working with no air condition since 7/22/22.

store is operating in high hot temperatures for the employees and for the customers. It's an oven in there since 7/22/22. No air-condition as well on 7/23/22 and the frozen coolers also shut down. district manager very irresponsible. Store should be closed. if there are sell frozen food at 50% off who knows if it's still good and since when. Customers are all complaining about how hot store is and so are employees. POSSIBLE LAWSUIT IF STORE DOES NOT SHUT DOWN WHILE PROBLEM IS NOT FIX!

Desired outcome: closed store immediately until air condition and coolers are working properly. Its an emergency hope this gets read as soon as possible.

Family Dollar Return not accepted

Today is the 2nd store I have stopped to that I don’t accept a return of a bathrug. It is unused and attached tags. Each time I was told that it had to go back to the original store of purchase. I’m in Jacksonville Fl first store was 929 McDuff south and the second was 2610 Main St.

I will burn the extra gas in a already increasing economy to go all the way to the original store which is #05161 571 n main st.

All this over $12.00, just wanted you to be aware.

Desired outcome: Update on procedure and a gift card for the inconvenience.

Family Dollar Problem with online order

I placed an online order #EC471519967 on 6/28/2022, and received an email on 7/11/2022 that my items were in store and ready to be picked up. I went to the store the same day and was told the manager was not there that day and they only had two of the three items that I ordered. There were two cashiers working at the register at that time and I asked for a refund for the third item that they did not have and neither of the cashiers knew how to do that! After waiting for about a half hour while they waited on other customers and tried to figure out how to refund me the cost of the third item I asked if I could just buy another item at that price and the cashier told me they couldn't do that. I could see they were no going to be able to help me so I just left without my items. On 7/14/2022 I called the store and asked to speak to the manager and was told she wasn't there, but would be back in about an hour, I left my phone number for a call back and after 2 hours I never received a call back. I had a doctors appointment that day so while I was out I went to the store again and asked for the manager the girl at the desk pointed to herself so I gave her my paper with my order number and she again told me the manager wasn't there. At that point I said "Is she ever here" which she said she was there this morning! Since no one has been able to help me actually get my order and I still want my order, I ask that you would send me my order free of charge to my home address. I am not going to keep going back and forth to the store to try and pick up my items on the chance that I will catch the manager actually there.

Desired outcome: I would still like my items that I ordered, so I would ask that you send them to me at my home address.

Family Dollar 1464 store Richmond TX

I went in to purchase some items at the end of my transaction my items were not bagged. The cashier stated "we don't have no bags". I responded what am I suppose to do. The cashier suggested I place my items in a cart to get them to my car. I asked if they had some bags I could purchase she stated no. And there were no carry baskets. What kind of store don't have bags for customers to place there purchased items in. This is unexectable after spending my money.

Desired outcome: The manager should have made sure she ordered the supplies needed for the store to include bags

Family Dollar store clerk deanna or dianna smith

she has aproblem with my son and when i ask her to please not talk to me she kicked me out of the store in american falls idaho and said i was banned from store then she pulled out her personal phone and took my picture i hav also filed a complaint with american falls police department thank you Marilyn Savage this took place at 10:45 am on 7/7/2022 she has also been talking junk about my son to other customers in the store

Family Dollar Customer Service

I went to make an exchange at the Family Dollar on Council and Nw 39th in Bethany, OK. When I entered the store the cashier was busy assisting a customer, so I went ahead and grabbed what I wanted to exchange. When I approached the register I was not acknowledged and had to wait. She did apologize but proceeded to tell me that they only exchange items that are exactly the same. I had my receipt and wanted to exchange the 2025 batteries for the 2032 size and they were the same price. She told me next time come to the register first because it looked funny. I just spent 83.00 dollars the day before

I felt as though I was being discriminated against because I am black. I do not steal and I do not want to be accused as a thief.

Desired outcome: I would like to know the policy for exchanges.

some stores have it listed on the bottom of the receipt for returns.

below is from what i have read on my receipt or told by associates of stores i frequent.

as for the policy itself it is governed by the rules sent from corporate [if they tell a store not to do returns or to accept them] then the franchise owner and manager takes those corporate rules and can just use those or modify them to reflect how they want. so they could get orders to only accept items of similar value or a similar item from corporate or they can change it to be same item only or same price value only. it's from what i have seen not geared to discrimination factors BUT this doesn't mean the policies of the franchise store that the franchise owner and manager created are not leaning to discrimination.

Family Dollar Store manager behavior

On July 4-2022 around 5:10pm-5:30pm the store clerk on duty proceeded to instruct me I have to leave my empty book bag at the front counter because people steal and he wants to make sure I’m not stealing! First of all I’m 50 yrs old and have better sense than to steal $27 worth of merchandise from you. I only came here r cause the stores close by me and I needed a few items. This is very disturbing that a clerk would harassing me for 7 minutes about an empty book bag that I carry my purse inside because I’m planing on putting the things I’m buying in it. This is totally unacceptable! Id rather go out my way to super Walmart now.

There’s a difference between being respectful and polite and being a nasty worker and harassing customers!

Family Dollar Service

On 6/27/2022 me and my grandson was shopping at #02570 the store manager was in the cooler putting away water when my grandson wants a drink, so he steps a cross the curb to get to the other side of the cooler that man look at me and spoke these words next time be considerate and walk around first of all he had the curb in the middle of the floor and second of all that is not how to talk to the customer's that guy need to learn handle business better than this his customers service SUCK to be manager.

Family Dollar store service and opening

all month of May and June.

Since the beginning of the month of May the store on 44th and Bryant Ave. in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma has opened then closed within an hour. It constantly stays dirty and cluttered. The cashiers are rude and are constantly on there phones. They are always short on stock. It may as well be shut down. If not I would recommend a complete remodel of the complete store and a complete change of staff.

Desired outcome: You need to send a Rep. to check this issue as soon as possible, and I would do it without knowledge to the store.

Family Dollar Verbal (elder) abuse. Clerk felt disrespected. Even if she was, it handled poorly. Mgmt/lead agreed with how it was handled.

Store #02392 Madison, TNTime1:24 There was an elderly man (80ish)He had obvious problems walking,hearing, speaking w/clear signs of dementia.
