2016 fORD EDGE RECALL 20S42 from August 2020
I have a recall on my 2016 Ford Edge concerning BRAKES from August 2020
last year and dealership states parts still not available. Going on a full year
and if I have an accident I am keeping this email to use in court of law because recall is on brakes and almost a year old
E Ochoa
Desired outcome: Send repair parts to McRee Ford in Dickinson for L Ochoa and have them call me at [protected] when parts are in to make recall repairs
2017 ford escape aluminum caped lug nuts
We bought this suv new and have 42, 000 miles on it. The tires have been rotated twice. Today 04/19/2021 went to dealership to have maintenance and oil change and tire rotation. The service rep said that he couldn't rotate the tires because the lug nuts were damaged, (ie) metal cover was disfigured due to the swollen lug nut aluminum cap making it extremely hard to remove the nuts. The only option he gave me was to have them replace their faulty lug nuts to the tune of over $200.00. For a tire rotation. I looked it up and there was a class action suit filed against Ford for this particular issue in 2017, unfortunately, it was thrown out by the judge. Granted the high end replacement lug nuts on line run $120.00, but the issue is what do you maintain the most on a vehicle? You rotate tires every 5000 or so miles. We have owned 3 Fords 5 counting my children's vehicles, that ends today. If you know you have a problem with your product and you don't make it right then you lose me as a customer. Might seem petty on my part but I feel it's much more petty on Fords part. I hope Fords savings on their cheaply made, inadequate lug nuts was worth it.
Desired outcome: Stop installing cheap defective materials on their automobiles and trucks. Own up to your mistakes. And replace my lug nuts
Product design
I test drove a Mach E...I worked for Ford Motor Company, retired from there. I was always Proud to work for this company...until now.
Really liked almost everything about the Mach E, I didn't like, am not proud of & may not purchase because there is no Blue Oval anywhere on the outside of this vehicle! If I purchase a Ford I want the vehicle to somewhere on the outside to say its a Ford! If I am proud of the Ford blue oval...why isn't Ford.
Second complaint is the rotary dial shifter...HATE IT... Have almost wrecked twice from this design...a friend also . miss my shifter handle
Desired outcome: Email explaing reasons for design & why they are not proudly placing Blue Oval
Safety Recall of Airbags - Airbag damaged
Good day, I received a message from Ford SA to bring my vehicle in for a safety recall and replacement of airbag inflators. I booked my Ford in on the 24th of February 2021 at Ford Paul Maher, service consultant Dwayne. After collection, the next day my airbag light kept going on, I immediately contacted Dwayne, highly upset and explained that the light keeps going on, he said I should bring it back. After a day or two the light went of so I called Dwayne to explain and he said I should bring it in when the light comes on again. On the 10th of April 2021 the light came back on, and keeps on coming on, I booked it in today 13th of April 2021. Today Dwayne informs me that I will have to pay for the diagnostics of the airbags should they find out it is not a fault of theirs, yet the airbags were fine before I took it in February. I find it extremely unfair since the airbags issue was a factory fault, and now I am blamed, and I have to take out money and pay for a problem that was never an issue before. I would like Ford to fix my airbags, as its a safety risk for me to drive with a car that have faulty airbags. Please kindly assist, thank you.
Desired outcome: I need my airbags fixed at no cost
2019 ford edge
I have a 2019 ford edge that has the same problem with random monitor screen lock up as outlined above. mine recovers too but I have to turn off the car and let it recover on its own. Very annoying indeed. Having worked in the computer industry for many years (now retired) this is a known problem with Computers. The cause as I understand is the computer processor at times will loose it tag point and lock up as it lost the next step in the software. To recover from this problem however all you have to do is reload the software in operation by turning off and back on so it will reboot and recover.
This method however has not worked with my Edge. Ford software guys need to implement a method to recover from a car computer lockup.
Desired outcome: Fix the software issue as outlined above
Paint peeling around windshield.
I have 2017 escape and the paint is peeling around windshield. This was buy back that I bought due to the person having issues with glare from window or something like that .
I bought it from Grieco Ford in Raynham. I also bought a new F150 there after I bought this.
Desired outcome: I would like to get it repainted
2017 Ford Escape
We just purchased this. The paint is chipping/ peeling in several spots. It had major damage to the front window when we purchased but was repaired. The body shop that did the repair said that it looked to them that it was the factory paint from Ford and that it should be recalled. I am considering have it repainted but I truly believe Ford should be taking care of the problem.
Desired outcome: Would like it to be fixed
Paint peeling off drivers side near the windshield
My warranty expired March 2020. In late 2020 I noticed some of the paint had peeled off. I went to the Ford Dealership and was told they would call Ford on my behalf. My mileage now is under 21, 000. I bought the vehicle new. I was shocked to find out that Ford would do nothing at all. I don't drive much at all. For the first two years I had the vehicle under a carport in NC. Then I retired to Fl. I did call Ford myself and the young lady I spoke with said that there wasn't any recall on make and model so nothing could be done. I have been loyal to Ford. I now wonder about that.
Desired outcome: To fix the peeling paint. I am not a business.
Paint chip / refuse to fix problem
I bought a 2017 car with 20, 210 miles on March 6, 2021, with paint problem around the windshield & refusal to fix it. The salesman claimed that he didn`t even notice the paint missing when we looked at it. Manufacturing defect. I sent pictures to the salesman & company. I took it back & the manager said that they would fix it but Ford refuses to pay. Now they refuse to fix it. Bonnie Hite
Desired outcome: paint around my windshield
My 2017 Ford Escape has peeling paint around the window I just noticed it today my car only has 50000 miles on it .
I noticed today that the paint on my escape is peeling around the window down to the metal I only have 50000 on my car I have read several complaints on the same problem the same place looked to see if there is a recall for defective paint and there is none why isn't there.Ford needs to fix this problem ASAP.
Desired outcome: Want it painted at no cost
Lack of recall for 2014 explorer steering gear/rack pinion assembly
The steering gear/rack and pinion went bad on my 2014 explorer. 106, 000 miles. I research and found ford recalled years [protected] for this exact problem but excluded 2014! I contacted Ford customer service and they told me there was nothing they could do. This issue almost caused me my life.
Imaging driving 65 miles and hour and your steering goes out because of part failure. Imagine a 16 or 17 year old driving and this happens! Now the dealer is trying to charge over $3, 300.00 for the repair and Ford customer service says Ford will not honor any of the repair costs! All those recalls for the same bad part for all those years, and Ford will not step up to support this claim on the same part.
Desired outcome: Ford please pay for the repair for the proven faulty part repair. No questions asked...
2017 Ford Escape
I, like many others, have a 2017 Ford Escape were the paint is peeling and flaking off around the windshield and along the drivers side post. I brought this to the dealership's attention when it was in for other repairs prior to the Ford Pre-Certified Warranty expiring, and was told they had to check with Ford to see if it was covered. That was the last I heard from the dealership. The problem continues to be get worse and after much research, I see that many, many, many others are facing the exact same issue. Vehicles cost a lot of money and I expect that the paint should last more than 3-4 years, especially with the care that I've taken with the vehicle (hand wash, no harsh chemicals or cleaners, etc). I believe that Ford should recall and / or reimburse me for repair to the paint.
Desired outcome: Repaint / Repair and / or reimburse for damages
Jan I absolutely agree! I have a 2017 Escape & the paint keeps getting worse. I took mine to the dealership it was bought new at & they took pictures & sent it to Ford. A few days later, Ford contacted us & said they weren’t covering it bc it wasn’t in warranty. My car has 32, 000 miles! It seems like most of the complaints I have seen is for the blue 2017 Escapes.
Acm is out 2015 ford 150 king ranch
Acm went out the garage replace and it does not work.. a 3rd one been ordered. Been told this is common problem and more than 50% failures and still no recall been issued.. .. this is on all ford's common to all.
Desired outcome: Recall or paid in full to repair
2017 Ford Escape window pillar paint peeling
Recently purchased a 2017 Ford Escape Titanium, a few months after I noticed a small flake of paint had peeling off of the window pillar by the windshield. The paint is continuing to spread the length of the window pillar. I've read online that it is a very common problem that many other Escape owners of this year are having to deal with. Called ford dealership and said there is nothing that can be done since the vehicle is out of warranty, even though many people have stated that even under warranty paint issues are not covered. The issue needs to addressed and fixed, as it has to have been a problem from the manufacturing of the vehicle.
Desired outcome: Window pillar needs repainting.
A repossession almost 16 years ago in 2005
My vehicle was repossessed over 16 years ago. At the time of the repossession I was 1 1/2 payments in arrears and had spoken to a representative about arrangements to bring my balance current. A couple of days after making arrangements I received a phone call from a representative again saying that it was evident that I could not afford my vehicle and she was going to have it picked up for repossession, but unknown to me that at the same time that I was on the phone with the Ford Credit Representative she already had Westland Towing at my home repossessing my vehicle. I called several times to attempt a resolution to get my vehicle back but was told that no information was available at that time and to call back in few days to give it time for my account to update. I called back 3 days after the repossession and was told that the vehicle had been auctioned and that I had no recourse for the action already taken. The representative that called to basically detain me or keep me from being aware of the action she had already taken to remove my vehicle was rude, just extremely curt. I had no opportunity to pay off the arrearage of only 1 1/2 payments. The arrearage occurred due to a mistake happening that caused a disruption to my income that was resolved within 2 weeks of my vehicle being repossessed. For 16 years I have had to deal with Ford Attorneys sending garnishments every year. I am disabled and became unable to work even part time due to becoming terminally ill and being injured. My name on the account - Sharmayne Moorer-Holt, vehicle 2003 Ford Taurus. Ford Motor Credit Co LLC Attorneys is Shermeta Law Group, PLLC. My email s.[protected]@yahoo.com
Desired outcome: I am asking for this debt to be forgiven. I have no means to pay for a vehicle that was taken and auctioned away that I had no opportunity to get back.
2008 crown vic air bags
I had a 2008 crown vic that I got from a used dealer in forest mississippi it had 400.0000 miles on it already but it was still running perfect . no problems other then the thing that controls the heat but I fixed that no problem.. Any way on the way home from a friend house a car pulled out in front of me I swerved and missed it ran off the rd and hit a tree I had my seatbelt on .. Thank God cause none of the airbags worked .. I went to the hospital with a fractured neck. The insurance company didn't even check to see if the were deployed . what can I do ...
Desired outcome: Payment for my neck being broke
F150 XLT 2017 model
The instrument cluster went dark for the second time randomly. Its a safety issue as I cant even see where the drive is on the transmission as it is dark. My turn signals dont work. It is intermittent and based on the fact that Ford knows of this issue, I want a new cluster installed. I have taken it into Ford and because the issue is intermittent, they say there is nothing they can do until it goes dark again, further endangering my family if we are out driving.
Desired outcome: Fix my instrument cluster.
Service
Very much disappointed with service, I will make sure next time myself and no one from side will go for Ford at least in Qatar. I feel like you are just looting your customers time and money
ford ecosport ambiente 1.5 2016 model, vin: MAJAXXMRKAGR64596 , REG NUMBER:HSX 573 EC
I bought the above car in May 2016 and it was brand new from EASTERN CAPE MOTORS(EAST LONDON). It has continuously been taken to service in due intervals with Ford Agency. I replaced the battery in February the 28th 2020 after it was indicating that the battery needed replacement. In October 2020 the car started giving me problems of not starting/ starting when it wants to. This happened occasionally and whenever it fails to start it displays on the dashboard "SERVICE ENGINE NOW" with an amber icon on the speedometer screen which according its manual, the car must urgently be brought to the Ford agency. I would find someone to kick start it because I am a lady and I don't know how to do it. I phoned Eastern Cape motors to report the matter. They asked me to try bring the car to them so that their computer system may detect the problem. On the 12 November 2020 I took the car all the way from Libode where I stay to them and they checked everything including the battery and said everything was fine and also the battery was checked in a nearby battery centre and brought a slip that showed that the battery was tested and found to be new. They said they had tried to check even manually and saw nothing faulty with the car. they also told me that they had updated the system of the car in case it was the cause.
They gave me the car saying that if this occurs again I should bring the car and leave it with them for two or more days so that they thoroughly check this again. It continued doing the same thing until I took it to them on 14 December 2020 and left it with them. To my surprise they called me to say that there was nothing they could do with the car because the cause for this is the battery and for them to check the car I should buy a new battery. the big QUESTION now is why? if the battery is the problem here, how come that sometimes the car starts on its own and fails when it wants to? this shows me that the car is being attended to by a LAYPERSON like me. it is only 70 000 KM mileage now.
I depend on it even for work purposes and I am paying an instalment without a car, is this car designed to be like this, can I recommend that someone must buy from FORD products? If the manufacturer fails to detect the problem of its own product, who else must do it?
I NEED URGENT RESPONSE.

2016 Ford F150 Lariat
Chrome PVD Peeling off Wheels: When I purchased my 2016 Ford F150 in June 2020 as a used car from Performance Ford, Bountiful Utah the chrome on the wheels was in very good shape. The vehicle had 45, 837 miles and we purchased a Complete Extended Warranty ($2700). The tires at that time had about 10, 000 miles left on them. When I had new tires installed in October 2020, the chrome on all four wheels flaked all around the edge of each wheel. I was told by the installer that this was a very well known issue with Ford PVD wheels and that there was a recall for this. I searched the internet for the issue and found a profound number of people complaining to Ford and on other forums about this very issue with these wheels I have found no evidence of a recall.
I phoned Performance Bountiful Ford service and spoke with Mike, who said they had never heard of the issue and also that our warranty didn't cover it. I'm writing to you in the hopes that you may provide me with a path to solve this issue.
I've attached photos of the F150, the undamaged rim when we purchased the vehicle, and examples of the peeling when we had the tires replaced.
The same happen to me until i got a good Lawyer to help review my complaint, which they did and file for a lawsuit against the company. They begged for me to drop the case against them.
