Hertz rental car availability, air quality in car

I reserved my rental car, and paid in full for the rental three weeks before arriving at my destination.

On Friday May 12, 2017 I flew in at the Niagara Falls airport.

I was supposed to have a car ready for pick up at 10:00 a.m. When I arrived at the Hertz desk, they said they were all out of cars. I was astonished as in all of my years of travel I have never experienced this. This was my very first experience in renting from Hertz.

Futher more the only thing I was told was that they were out trying to find more cars. WHAT?

So I asked the young girl at the desk, what does a reservation mean to them. I thought a prepaid reservation meant that a car would be waiting for me upon my arrival. the couple ahead of me just picked up their keys, and were happily on their way. Did they just get my car as it took ten minutes to get off the plane?

At the same time, Enterprise right next to Hertz was very quickly and efficiently handing out all kinds of cars to people that had reservations

I then hear all kinds of excuses from Hertz, none of them making any sense. One was even blaming the companies that rent for Hertz as they send way too many reservations for them to fill. OK, now that is the start of the blame game., which just makes the company sound like they are out of control.

Finally a car pulls up which was 45 minutes from my reservation pick up time.

They did give me a larger car than I rented (which I did not need, but actually was all that they could find.) When I got in, the smell of smoke was intense. I had to make my one hour drive with the window down in 50 degree weather. I live in Florida and 50 degree weather to us is like New Yorkers riding with the windows down in the winter. The windows looked foggy as they were covered in smoke.

I was in the Batavia area for the weekend visiting my dad who was at the Veterans Home.. I did not want to waste even another minute with Hertz company changing out the car as there were no Hertz locations near Batavia.

I rode around all weekend with the windows down, and a box of baking soda in the pocket behind the drivers seat to absorb any odor that I could while the car was closed up over night.

About a mile from the airport I wanted to top off the gas tank before returning the car. The car took seven gallons of gas, at a charge of $6.45.

I gave the pump another short burrst of gas to make sure the tank was full. I got back on the road to the airport, looked at the gas gauge and it read down a quarter of a tank. Whats up with THAT?

Went to the desk to report why there was a box of baking soda in the car, and show them that I just filled up. No one was at the Hertz desk. I gave up and just got on my plane.

I called Hertz in Niagra falls today, and again excuses. I finally told the supervisor that she needs to understand how Hertz looks to the public. I said I am not after anything, but you need to understand that if you keep running your business the way you are now, you won't be in business at that location for many years. I hope she got the message. I hope that Hertz gets the message. Not that I will ever rent from them again.

I feel very sorry for the next unsuspecting person that needs a car in a hurry, and gets the same service. The sad think is that they just don't get it.
They are more interested in the blame game than correcting their own short comings.

Hertz driver of hertz rental car involved in hit and run accident

One of your vehicles was involved in an accident on [protected] on the 6600 block of Musgrave St. The vehicle was a Toyota plate #HNH4511. I have already filed a claim #8B574954699145. A representative came out and took pictures if my car a 2003 Acura. I spoke with representative Connor Pickard on May 4 2017 who advised me I would be receiving an estimate of damages and a check in the mail and if that check wasn't enough to cover the damages, the car repair shop is to contact him and he would see to it that the balance is paid. He said if I did not hear from them by May 12th to call him. I have been calling him since Friday and he is not returning my calls. His number is [protected]. I am still waiting to hear from him after leaving numerous messages.

Hertz I rented a vehicle for uber use purposes, and was given a vehicle with improper registration info.

I came to pick up a vehicle reserved for today, 1/15/17. I rented the vehicle for Uber use. I went to the Uber hub to register the vehicle, and I was told that the plates were under a Chrysler, and I have a Hyundai instead, which has those plates. So, I wasn't able to use it for work purposes. I tried to call Hertz, located at 5259 W Archer Ave, in Chicago, with no success of any communication. I also received the vehicle with 1/8 of gas, and I put $20.00 of gas with the anticipation of working, and I cannot use the vehicle for work purposes. It is very difficult to communicate to this office, because it's either busy, or you are put on hold. So I want to document this issue so I can get either another vehicle replaced for tomorrow, and have Monday discounted, or be refunded for the amount of the rental, including the gas. I did not rent the vehicle for personal use.

Hertz hertz istanbul ataturk airport office

Dear Sir/Madam,

Unfortunately I had a bad experience in my rental in Istanbul.
I have been renting cars for 10 years all around the world.
For the first time I rented a car (prepaid) but in airport office I couldn't find the car I rented but another car.

My reservation number : HRTZ0043997

The stuff in airport Hertz office explained me that Class E and Class F are same but on internet (even now) I see different.
I especially rented a Class F - Renault Clio (cruise control, etc) but he insisted to give me a Class E- Renault Clio Symbol.
I refused and told him that I can pay extra to upgrade the car but he told me that he doesn't have any car in parking. Either I take the Symbol, or I will have nothing.
I was obligated to take the car he wants to give me and I did.
But when I went to car parking, I saw more than 5 Clios, Nissan Qasquais, and many different cars parking there.
It was at night. I was coming from Africa. And I had to travel 500 km to Ankara.
I never choose a small rent a car company even it is cheaper than Hertz to not have such problems.
But unfortunately your staff and Turkish Hertz Agency doesn't respect the clients.
I will keep renting cars from big companies like SIXT, AVIS, etc. but not HERTZ.
I am really sorry to write it but Hertz broke the image in my mind.
Maybe Hertz International does not know what is going on in Istanbul Airport Office.
They make people obligated to accept their last minute suprises and offers.
For a local small company it can be accepted but I hope you will take necessary actions to save your name.

Hertz rental car breakdown

5/12/17

Have a rental car through their Ubar Rental program. The car needed jump starting back on 5/9/17. I called roadside assistance and they had AAA come out and test the battery and jump start my rental car. The battery had a bad cell. And suggested I take the car back to Hertz for an exchange. Hertz said I'd have to take the car back to the location I got it from. I didn't have time to do it then so I waited until I had time.

So on 5/12/17, I called the rental car location 4 hours before they closed and told them I'd be bringing in the car that day for an exchange. They said they'd take care of it. When I finally got to the location, traffic, accidents all over the place and such it was at 5:45pm. 15 minutes before they closed. I stood in line and waited my turn. When I got to the counter, the man told me that they had no cars to exchange with me. They had just rented their last Ubar program car to a guy who was in front of me but had to get some money issue resolved and was now behind me in line.

Not having a car to give me they didn't offer me any other car. And told me I was stuck with this car. And the battery problem. Which now needed constant jump starting, due to the battery being bad. I stepped outside to call customer service and to get my cell phone charger. When the office locked the door behind me.

I called customer service roadside assistance and they said they could jumpstart me one more time but that's it. After that I'd have to be charged for any further roadside assistance. I asked if I could take the car to another location and get it exchanged. They said this is not their department and said I had to call and talk to someone else. So I took down the number and called customer service. Who then transferred me back to roadside assistance. Roadside assistance said they could jump start me and since this was a mechanical problem I wouldn't be charged for any further jump starts. I took down the employee's name Patrick and his employee number. They again sent out AAA. And again AAA said the battery was bad.

All Hertz wants me to do is talk to the location. I did that yesterday when I brought the car in. This is the worst customer service I have ever seen. Especially paying for a rental car that is not running. And needing jump starting over and over again.

Hertz customer service

I rented a car from the Providence Rhode Island airport which i do all the time! (MEMBER NUMBER [protected]) They first gave me a rental that had a check engine light on that i had to return! When i returned the rental I was charged a "smoking fee" which I feel was because I returned the vehicle for a new one! Then they gave me a rental with an expired Registration. When I called to let them know they told me once more to bring the rental back which I can not do because I was not around by the time I noticed the tags were expired! I had a rental from Budget for 2 weeks prior and only returned it because I am a member of hertz and thought i got a better deal! What a mistake! I called and kept getting told a manager would call me back which NEVER happened and I had to keep calling and explaining over and over! I will never get another rental from here EVER! What kind of company offers zero compensation and refuses to pick up the vehicle if there is a problem? Again Im livid about my experience and will never rent again.

I am very sorry, but I really feel cheated here.

You direct to the contract, but good information for your customer is much more important to retain them.

The fuel non-refund is unlogic, rediculous, and I was not told about it. I had not agreed with it if I had known it.

Furthermore, as far as the Airport service fee is concerned, the Hertz 'salesman' told me it was on the contrary, bringing back a car to the airport, would lead to a discount, because of the fact that the car then not is to be picked up elsewhere, and brought to the airport anyway.

Another point is that your 'salesman' didn't talk dollars, but NIS. Everbody talks NIS in Israel.

Then, because all paper work is digital, and to be send to me afterwards, including the check in form, it is not even possible to look carefully at these documents / contracts. Furthermore, this should not be necessary when working with a trusted company like Hertz.

I am very disappointed about this. I am certainly not leaving it like this. I strongly recommend you to make a gesture. If not, I surely am going to escalate this.

Hertz charges to my credit card

I having 14 pending charges for the same transaction on my credit card. The pending charges are interfering with the use of my card while on vacation in Italy. I would like all but one of the pending charges removed immediately. Thank you for you help in this matter.

Hertz hertz rental car

I rented a car, got to pick up location and they could not print out the contract. For 2 hours they made calls and kept trying to fix problem. I asked 3 times to just cancel reservations and they asked me to hold on they got it fixed...3 times. Finally, they hand wrote the contract.
The next day I go outside to a flat tire and the car won't start.
Road side assistance refused to come out unless I paid 80.00 dollars.
So my only other option was to change the tire myself, risk my life and the lives of others since I never changed a tire Hertz is happy to place everybody's lives in danger rather than send out assistance to fix tire and get car to start.
If the tire comes off at 70 miles an hour and people die, this is my testament that I called roadside assistance, spoke with Christine, 6:04pm 5/7/17 and recorded that call and I always record with my phone what I'm told at counter.So there is 2 video recordings, 1 is audio from call on speaker to prove this.
Hertz doesn't mind costing people their lives rather than being responsible for their vehicles care, maintenance and safety.
Pray I live and any drivers near me.

Hertz rental

I got a rental car from Hertz local agency located on 7046 Mission St. Daly City, CA 94014. The area manager is Manuel C. Bernal. Based on my personal experience, I believe this agent is greedy and dishonest. Before I got the car, there were scratches on both rear and front bumpers. Someone slightly hit me and the rear rubber band came off. The agent got the car fixed and replaced both rear and front bumpers. The other driver's insurer just paid for the rear bumper. The hertz hired billing agency called Viking Billing Inc. to force me to pay for the remaining. They wanted me to pay for the front bumper while it was already scratched. Such a disgrace.

I spent about 2 hours talking to Hertz representatives and manager regarding the issue. They transferred me to different departments one after another. I talk to 5 people and 3 departments. What I learn from this experience is no one working at Hertz wants to help you to solve for the problem. They just know exactly how to transfer you to other department. Finally, i was transferred back to Viking Billing Inc and ended leaving a voice mail. What I can tell about my personal experience with Hertz is I hope the CEO of the company spare a little time to really dig into any unethical problems and try to solve them before unhappy customers tell their friends and families regarding the experiences.

Hertz cars are being stolen in my name!

Greetings,
I have recently been contacted by numerous investigators (including Hertz) about cars rented in my name in the San Francisco area. I did not rent these cars. My wallet was stolen while on vacation in San Francisco in September 2016. Someone is using my ID to rent cars and not return them. I think the count is up to four cars. I am trying to contact anybody to talk to at Hertz but the phone lines just lead in loops. I just want to notify the Hertz location directly to help catch this thief and clear my name but I keep running into roadblocks.
I just received an invoice from Hertz about a Camero that was rented. It says I owe $1010.10. I did not rent this car. I have proof that I was in Denver, CO working at this time.

The rental agreement number is: [protected]. The invoice date is: 04/27/2017. Document number: [protected].
The reservation ID: H2441858007. Frequent Traveler: ZE1.

The car was rented on: 03/18/2017 11:07 LOC# 126110

Can someone please contact me about his matter? This person is renting this vehicles and not returning them. Please help to stop this thief!

Hertz settlement of damage claim

At 10:42 3/27/2017 I was involved in an accident with a car driven by Melissa Wilson [protected] who refused to provide me with adequate information about her insurance. I tried to report the accident at the Police Department but they refused to take a report stating that it had to be done by a policeman.
I went to the scene of the accident and called 911 and made a police report.
The rental contract number was #[protected] and the Florida license plate number was #CHCW52 (Hertz says it is CHTW52). As far as rental vehicle insurance, I assume each company has different policies, but we would have to contact Hertz to find out.
I got my car back from the repair shop on Monday 4/3 and went to the Apple Valley Hertz Rental place at 12218 Apple Valley Road and gave them the above information and was told that they couldn’t find anything with that license plate number and the rental contract number that Melissa gave me was not correct. They told me to get the correct numbers and come back.
I Google Hertz and called their office in Florida [protected]) and talked to Sierra. She told me that the correct license number is CHTW52. When I went back to Apple Valley with that number they found a record of it being involved in an accident but would give me no information from the accident report but told me to call [protected] to file my accident report. I did and they said they would call me back within 3 days. They didn't so I called them and was given the accident report number 8B574954509087 and told to call ESIS at [protected]. I did and was told the claim had been assigned to Andrew Rounds and I could call him at [protected]. I called and left a message on his answering machine each day for three days but he never called back as he promised to do on his answering service. I called ESIS back and talked to Christena who said she would contact Andrew and connect me with him.
Received a call from the adjuster and gave him the details of the accident. Also gave him the phone number for the Wilsons because the one he had was [protected].
Called to find out status of my claim on 3/2 and was told she would find out and call me back. Didn't.
Called again to find out status of my claim on 3/3 and was told she would find out and call me back. It was raining in Oberlin, KS and Denise had to contact Andrew Rounds who is “managing” the claim. He was not yet in and she had no access to claim information even though she is in “customer service”. She never called back.
I called [protected] and, since none of the options fit my problem, I selected 6. He worked for a company that is contracted by Hertz but not to handle my problem. He transferred me to [protected] where I was met with another half dozen choices that didn't relate to my problem. I was told to press 5 to talk to a representative. Hertz rental car toll charges

I recently rented a vehicle from IAH on March 12-17 (Agreement number: [protected]). Nobody at the rental desk mentioned tolls or toll charges but just before leaving the gate of the parking ramp, I was told there was a toll pass in the vehicle. I was new to the area and unaware of any toll roads so I didn't ask any questions. Google Maps directed me onto Sam Houston Tollway after leaving the airport and the unmanned tolls flashed me twice before I could exit that road. I tried several times everyday to contact the rental agency to verify there would not be any charges but there was no answer. When I returned the vehicle with $30! of charges in toll fees. I made several more calls to Hertz and PlatePass but each just blamed each other for the charges and said it's not their responsibility (Hertz said they can't do anything because the charges weren't billed by Hertz. PlatePass said this is the agreement they have with Hertz so any action would have to be taken by them.). This is customer deception and awfully close to fraud. It may be outlined in the rental agreement but your agents' verbal agreement is entirely contradictory. I hope the extra few dollars you scam from your customers is worth their loyalty. I'll be checking into other options in the future. I desire a refund of all toll charges at a minimum.

Hertz hertz car rental - south burnaby location

I booked a Hertz Rental Car through BCAA on April 20, 2017. I paid for a taxi to take me to Herts in the morning. When I arrived I was told I would not be able to rent the car because my credit did not have enough money on it. I explained that I recently made a payment on it, however it takes 3-5 business days for the payment to post to the card. I offered another credit card to use through my BMO bank, however they would not accept it either because it was a pre-paid credit card. I told them it had a my name, credit card number, credit card chip, security code and was from an official bank. I told them that I use it all the time to make purchases and it is always excepted, however they still would not accept it. I decided to call another car rental company and I was able to rent a car immediately. I will never use Hertz company again and I will never recommend them. I will recommend that my friends and family use other car companies instead.

Hertz rude customer service agent

My mom was taken to store #5667 for a car rental. She waited about an hour before she was seen (she is elderly) everything on the lot that was equivalent to her vehicle, either needed an oil change or was dirty. The Customer Service Rep was ugly, unprofessional, and just plain out rude. He didn't empathize, he just keep making excuses and continued to be rude. His name was Hamilton King.

Hertz reservation, discrimination, racism

I called in this morning to reserve a car from hertz (in the Villa Park area, IL, Tel: [protected])) via an Insurance Company (American Access). I was unable to make the reservation, as the rental agent told me that I will have to provide a reservation confirmation number; since I could not get hold on the Insurance who should have made the reservation on my behalf, I told the rental agent that I am willing to pay from my pocket and that I will be reimbursed later by the Insurance. He then told me that it is unlikely he will be able to rent a car for me. He said that he does not have any car available at that time and also one of his cars needs oil change, so I should call other hertz locations in the area to make my reservation. I must mention that hertz shop was the closest to my place. I also tried calling other hertz locations, but I could not get hold any of the customer service. Next, I went ahead and made an online reservation and had a confirmation number (H2881639059). Then, I called the same hertz that was closer to my house; now, I was greeted by a female agent who told me that she was just answering calls for the main agent who just stepped out to go pick up a customer. I told the female agent that I have a reservation with them and I will need one of their agent to pick me up from my place. She told me that It is unlikely the other will be willing to come pick me up...she then asked for my phone number, which I provided to her and I asked her to tell her colleague to come pick me whenever possible as I have to be at work by 10 AM. They did not called me in the next 30 min. But, fortunately, I called my insurance agent again and he was able to make a reservation for me. I then canceled the reservation I made on my own. Later, I called the same hertz shop again to confirm the reservation the insurance had put in for me. The first agent I spoke with was the one who answered my call and he did confirm the reservation...but, he also told me that he does not have any car in his shop to give today that I have to get the rental car from one of their nearby locations or through one of their subsidiaries (Wreck Room (in Villa Park). I was disappointed and clearly mentioned to the agent that this is out of ordinary that this is not the first time I will be taking a rental car from Hertz. I specifically told him that the whole situation sounds discriminatory and that I will be contacting the customer service to report him.
Next, I called Wreck room for the availability of any car. I spoke with ones the guys in the shop and he was surprised that I had to call them in order to get a rental car. He was shock and told me that the hertz hop I had been calling should have a rental car and that he does not know why the agent told me to call them for my rental.
I now stuck at home, not going to work today because someone at hertz decided perhaps I am a"bad guy" and that he cannot give me a rental car...that perhaps, I have an accent and that I am probably not his type.
This is very discriminatory and out of ordinary. I decided to send this complain for I felt an action needs to be taken and correct this misconduct at several of your shops.
The appearance, skin color, accent of a number of your customers should not be a decision factor in your daily basis business/activities.

Hertz protection contact for rental

On February 24th I was involved in a wreck and came into Hertz to pick up a car that was reserved for me through the other persons insurance that was also involved. I talked to a guy at the counter and he immediately asked me for my debit card and license. I couldn't understand why he needed my debit card but he said there was a 20 deposit and I would get it back when I returned the car. Then he proceeded in me signing a paper which I was not told or explained anything about it. I thought it was the rental agreement. Then a week passed and I saw a pending amount on my account so I called and he said that I took out a protection plan .I was in distress when I went in and he took advantage of me and is probably still doing others like this. I have 2 witnesses that were with me and he never once said anything about the cost or what I was signing. It was so fast he knew what he was doing. So I told him I wanted to talk to his supervisor and he finally called and said there was nothing they could do. I have called 3 different people at hertz and someone was supposed to call me back .I went in on the day to turn this rental in and the same guy said I owed 580.00 and I told him I wasn't paying it and he said right out well I have your card in our system. I asked him to speak to a supervisor and he said that there wasn't one there. So I told him I would wait until he calls and was a very sarcastic person and couldn't believe the way he was treating me .He couldn't even look me in the eye. Well I told him I wasn't leaving and he immediately said well we close at 7 .He went to the back and I stood there for about 10 minutes and he comes back and it was like I wasn't standing there. He finally says I will put this on hold until my supervisor calls you. Little did I know he had already ran my card. The next day they took out 580.00 out of my account. I once again never got a phone call from his supervisor and now I writing this complaint. I talked to one person from Hertz and he said that this guy was only authorize to take 186.00 but instead took out 580.00 and this man credited my account 386.00 .I still feel like I should get the rest of my money for the simple fact of the way he never explained a thing to me about it. I was distressed about just being in a wreck and he knew took advantage of me. This is wrong. He kept telling me there was no supervisor there but come to find out he was the supervisor for this store. I also left him 3 messages with my phone number and he never called me back. Very unprofessional .I have never been treated like this by anyone . I want to know what I can do about getting the rest of my money back.

Hertz overcharged/ poor customer service

On the 9th of April I rented a car from Hertz Banff, Canada. I was renting it for 5 days from the 9th-13th and was told by the employee i was renting from that it would cost $340 with the locals discount. On thursday the 13th of April I returned the car to the same girl I rented it from, she told me in a couple of days the money would be taken from my account and i could leave all my documentation with her. So I did. When i checked my account days later i noticed $545 had been taken. I called immediately to see what the confusion was and was told that the car had been checked out on the 15th. After about 10minutes she realised i wasn't lying, and that i had rented from them a number of times over the last 4 years. I wanted to go through the security footage with them to show I was in there the date and time that i said I was, and get my money returned to my account. I was told the store manager would call me back with the resolve. After 3 days I gave them a call again and the man who answered the phone very abruptly told me that he had no idea what I was talking about, that it wasn't his problem, and that i would get a call back in the next few days. After 4 days I called again, and the same man answered. Told me I was a lier, and that he had checked security footage and that I had in fact not returned it on the 13th as I was claiming. When i asked if i could look through the security footage with him he said I had no right too. That he wasn't going to help me anymore and hung up the phone mid conversation. It was the rudest service I have ever received in my life. I straight away called customer service of Hertz and they immediately saw that I had in fact returned the car on Thursday the 13th as I had been saying all along, however I wasn't refunded my full amount.

I am extremely disgusted with the way I have been treated and will be sure to never return to Hertz again. I work in a very popular cafe in town that has a huge local base aswel as an ever flowing tourist base running through it. When i first got off the phone with the manager I repeated what had just happened and immediately 2 customers told me that they had had horrible experiences there with the same man. I will be sure to Never recommend this business to anybody, and strongly advise they go somewhere else.

I have been extremely put out by this waiting for my money to be put back into my account for weeks. I would like to receive a full refund for this as I have had to get advances for other payments I have had to pay while I have waited very unfairly to never be called back by Banffs store manager.

Hertz bait and switch

I noticed after receiving confirmation that I had booked the reservation for Monday 12:30 am. Actually given the late arrival it was coming in on Tuesday 12:30 am. I went in and made a reservation change and the price immediately changed and increased by $130.00 approx. When i spoke to customer service in whatever country I was told that the new rate was supposed to be higher. What started out as $250.00 went to $320.00 is now being quoted at $450.00. This is a lot of $$$ for a rental being picked up on Tuesday and returned on Thursday.
I spoke again with the agent and got nowhere. I guess Gold Members do not matter to your company. I have a competitive quote for $191.00. Asked about the price match guarantee and was denied. Bottom line you need to get your act together and also get US customer service

Hertz I have complaint regarding being overcharged for a rental car

My name is Kimberly Anderson, I recently rented a car at the LAX airport April 13-17, 2017. My credit card was overcharged illegally and without my consent. There was an over charge of 1, 200. I have been calling for over a week and nothing has been done about. I have asked for a supervisor on numerous occasions, only to be told that no one is available. Every time that I call someonetells me that it has been processed and its waiting for approval. Several employees have also told me that it was approved. However, the funds have not been credited back to my card. Lastly, I finally spoke to Luann who was supposed to be a supervisor. She informed me that she was taking care of at that moment (4/26/2017) and that should world send me an email. I have YET to receive it. Im in the process of getting lawyer and contacting the better business Bureau. You guys have not heard the last of me. My email address is [protected]@yahoo.com and my phone number is 312.919.0897. The car was rented using a bank of America card. They also charged me for an upgrade that I had no knowledge about. The car was paid for in full before we rented. I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY AGAIN! Im to this to social media and everywhere else to notify individuals to notfo business with you.
