credit card transaction debited twice
I visited the Centurion branch of Makro on Friday 18th October. After standing in the queue and getting to 2 customers from the front, I was approached by a staff member asking if I was paying with card.
I responded "yes" and was asked to come out of the queue to be helped in isolation.
After 20 minutes, time that I could have gone to a normal cashier and left the store, they could not assist, however, the transaction went through my credit card.
I eventually was taken to a normal cashier and the transaction as processed again.
I was assured that the original transaction would be reversed, yet until this morning, the transaction still reflects on my card. My Makro card number is [protected] and the transaction amount is R571.30. I have 2 issues, first the time I spent while staff were being trained at my expense, and second, the duplicated transaction.
Another day and no contact from the Bloemfontein manager, as promised he would. Also no reversal.
I get a call from a lady in Centurion branch today (correct branch at least). Apparently she is the lady that assisted me. So clearly not important enough for the MANAGER to pick up the phone!. She requested my credit card number and exp date so that she can ask the Bank to reverse the amount. Really ? I am supposed to give that information out on the phone ? I was also very specific when the incident happened that I will not come back to the branch to have this sorted because I knew this would be the case. Today.she asked me to come to the branch, which I will not, and cannot do as I am going abroad tomorrow. I asked her to call me back in 10 minutes as I was busy. This was an hour ago.
If this is not sorted in the next 24 hours, it will be published in every complaints platform you can think of. 24 hours !
To date, there is no reversal on my credit card. Furthermore, I received a call from a manager from the Bloemfontein branch, when my complaint clearly states that the incident happened in Centurion.
I want to know what is going to be done to prevent me from going to Hello Peter and/or social media with this complaint.
goldair 50cm floor fan

I phoned Macro head office on Saturday morning to enquire about the 50cm Goldair Fan that is advertised for R649.00. They assured me that Makro Bloemfontein do have stock. I went to the shop in Bloemfontein to buy two of the fans for our company. The manager of the specific department told me that the advert is the fan that is in the 46cm fan's box (see photo attached). He told me that the description on the box is wrong (it was a printing mistake on the box), but he assured me that the fan inside is a 50cm fan and the 50cm is indicated on the fan. Unfortunately, I believed him. When I got back at work we opened the box just to find out that the description on the fan is 46cm and not 50cm.
Why is the 46cm fan being advertised as a 50cm fan? That is false advertising! Why is the manager willing to lie about Makro's packaging and products to ensure a sale?
I use to love shopping at Makro because you get value for your money. However, I am very very disappointed about what happened

I bought groceries over r2k... Unfortunately I did not buy a bag as usual.. Wen I got to the house I found that sunlight dishwashing liquid have spilled all over the back boot.. Did nt have a problem, cleaned all products affected.. Now later my 6year old graps her drink.. She tells me that all she can taste is the soap.. Now im scared to use all the other items since they all got contacted.. I can't throw away r800 worth of food away.. Please assit.. Im not happy at all..

I order the machine on the 10 October 2019 order number MAK2196684, it was despatched for delivery on the 12.. it is now the 18 oct still no delivery.. when I call I'm send from pillar to post.. the service is so disgusting to say the least. I call every day using my own airtime, they don't even bother to get back to me or the least give me feedback regarding my products.. the stipulated delivery time is 2-5 days, is now 7 days and the is not evin a promise.

poor service
We bought a door in door fridge on Monday 7th October 2019. The fridge was delivered the following day but it had dents and we were told the special doesn't come with free installation! That was NEW to our ears.
We refused to take the fridge and drove to the store in question of the dent and the free installation. Long story short we met the sales person and manager they promised they will deliver a proper fridge on Wednesday 9th Oct 2019 and consult LG person for the installation.
Wednesday 9th October 2019 I contacted the delivery department only to be told my package will be delivered later (second load). I was expecting them to prioritize us since we were unhappy but instead we are last on the list in terms of delivery. Later Around 17:00pm I received call from delivery and was told since the LG door in door fridges are normally delivered by LG people so they can also install in the filter on the spot. He then asked if the sales person explained that.There seem to be a communication misalignment within Makro Centurion. I've been calling throughout the day for updates. NO DELIVERY!
Thursday 10th October 2019 We finally received the fridge around 12:00pm WITH NO INSTALLATION!Contacted the sales person I was told that LG takes 48 hours to contact the customer so they can make installation arrangements. Well that's the same sorry I've been hearing since I bought the fridge.
Friday 11th October 2019 went to the store to sort out the installation sorry. It was only then they called LG 🤦🏽♀️ The LG technician told me they are no longer doing the free installation and they alerted Makro and gave me a long story! I told him that's not my problem they'll have to sort out the matter with Makro. The LG told the sales person that we should do our own installation! Because I was irritated and frustrated by them I said FINE! But I requested an email from LG saying I can go ahead with the installation. Till today 16th October 2019 I AM STILL WAITING.
Funny enough the day I bought a fridge there was another couple that bought the same fridge we bought. Theirs was delivered the following day with INSTALLATION. Oh or maybe because the couple where white 🤷🏽♀️ They received a better service than us. WHICH IS REALLY UNFAIR!
I just feel Markro Centurion is taking advantage of us! I send complaints on your website and also via email; NO RESPOND.
Hoping this will addressed and never happen again.

I have not received any update or communication regarding delivery of my online order placed on 7 Oct 2019. Order no MAK2191702. I used the WhatsApp platform to follow up yesterday and still waiting. I followed once again earlier today and then called the call centre. I was promised that someone would get back to me with an update but once again, still waiting. This is ridiculous to say the least for a company like Makro. I am really disappointed.

I have had to make several calls myself to follow up on delivery which I was informed was going to take place on the 07/10/19 by the Customer Care Agent. I placed my online order on 3rd October 2019 .(MAK2189151). The terms and conditions state delivery between 2 to 5 working days. It is now the 10th of October and i STILL have not received my order. This is utterly unprofessional and every time i speak to a different person and get no feedback. Eventually today i called them again and after treading to cancel the order the truth comes out that they have no stock, and will only be getting stock in December. So i requested the order to be cancelled and now have to wait 7 days for a refund.
If you order anything, don`t use Makro online.
Today is the 30/10/2019 and still waiting for my refund.
At last I got a call from Makro and spoke to someone that was helpful, professional and well spoken, what he promised, happened, they picked up the item same day. And this is a thank you to him, appreciated.
Today is the 22/10/2019 and now they cut me off when i call and still no change.
Today is the 21/10/2019, still no refund and item still not been picked up.And i have to keep on following up to get some sort of feed back.

I placed my online order on 30 September 2019. The terms and conditions state delivery between 2 to 5 working days. It is now the 10th of October and i STILL have not received my order. This is utterly unprofessional and is costing me money now as i need the items purchased. Makro won't see me again.

I cancelled my online order and requested a refund on 22th September (before being available for delivery). Makro acknowledged receipt of my request also on the 22nd.
On the 29th, Ntabeleng from Makro assured me that "We have escalated the query to the store so that they can assist in urgently cancelling the order."
Since the 29th, I have sent numerous emails and made several calls to get the matter resolved, to no avail.
4 October Macro informed me that my order is ready for collection - " Your order MAK2175863 is ready for collection!
Please collect your order from Silver Lakes within 7 days and don't forget to bring your ID with you."
There is something seriously wrong with Makro's customer service.
Please give this your urgent attention and refund me as promised.

After countless calling and e-mailing for the item to be delivered after the estimated date of delivery on the online site. the school bag was delivered only on the 17th August 2019.
Upon opening the package, the backpack shoulder straps are torn.( Pictures attached). I have received the order late and damaged. As a consumer I have the Right to quality goods and services (The Consumer Protection Act)
I think its best to arrange pick up of the order and refund the amount paid for the backpack. Makro online has failed at effectively fulfilling this online order

I refer to Reference number 290190 regarding my call and complaint to head office recently. I have still received no feedback or reimbursement due to R 700 loss of income suffered as a result of very poor service by Makro as explained to the operator. Please contact me urgently to resolve this matter.
In brief it was a single online order which arrived in separate parts, the 2nd part being 3 days late and including a damaged item. The delay resulted in 2 of my private tuition classes having to be cancelled which were charged at R 350 per class. I require this amount to be refunded. I am a very poor person who lives month to month and cannot just throw money away like this through no fault of my own.

I placed an order online on September 19th. Order number MAK2179120; and delivery was supposed to take place within 2-5 working days.
Until now, October 3rd I still have not received my item. I called last week and was reassured that my order would be delivered on Monday the 30th of September, but nothing happened.
Though I placed the order as a private customer, my delivery address is a business address and when I called I reiterated that delivery can just be made at reception.
Please Makro either deliver my item or refund my money please. This is just plain sloppiness and I do not understand why I have to chase after a big store like Makro to deliver a product I've already paid for.

trojan treadmill
I ordered a treadmill online from Makro on 20 September 2019.
It has been almost TWO WEEKS and my treadmill has STILL not been delivered as committed.
Order was placed on 20 September, on 23 September I received a call from the store to advise that the order will be delivered on 24 September and that I must please be available as they will deliver before 2pm.
24 September (being SA Heritage day) was a national public holiday, and I had to cancel plans to stay home to receive the order. NO order was received, no calls or communication was received from the store. They simply "did not pitch"
On 25 September (a working day), I received a call from the security in my complex to advise that the delivery had arrived. I told the security on duty that Makro had not arranged anything with me for delivery on this day, and unfortunately I cannot leave the management meeting I had been in, to rush home for the order (highly unprofessional of Makro to not pre-arrange deliveries with working class clients)
I told security to ask them to wait about an hour if possible, and I will make a plan to get home as soon as I could. They could not, and they then left.
I have called in constantly during these 2 weeks, only to be given numerous excuses, and promises to deliver / the agent has told me that they will "call me back to advise on the delivery date" - still no feedback.
Till this day I have still not received my order, confirmed and paid for 12 days ago, and I have no idea where my order is or when it will be received?
Absolutely unacceptable and pathetic service.

They promise is to deliver 7 days after you pay, SORRY that is not TRUE.
On 23 September 2019 - I emailed and phoned to cancelled the order.
I went to another store bought the items on 23 Sept and was delivered on the 24th September.
ON the 26 I got a partial order, I send this back as I cancelled the order.
I cancelled the complete order, which was broken up in different orders from different stores.
An item that was advertised al of a sudden was discontinue - why is it still on your site.
Out of the complete order on store/branch did a great job I got the microwave in time.
Will I really buy online from Makro -- mmmm don't think so.
So I phoned the call centre to request when can I expect my refund of R28 000
The staff member did not really know how to answer, as her skill of checking what is going on her system mmmm terrible.

HI, I ordered something online by Makro and hens I also was asked delivery fee for the product I bought, its now the 01/10/2019 and still nothing just says in progress in my profile order. Phoned 3 times not resolved. now there is no stocked left and they need to get stock from supplier. if you don't have stock don't advertise online that you have stock and then after words inform people that there is no stock left after I had to call 3 time.

- I called in regarding my extended warranty of my Tv on two occasions. Both, Occasions the call centre staff confirmed that my TV is covered and re-assured me that someone will come out to uplift the TV and repair.
Call Centres staff : Richard Mogetsi, Noktula and Ntabiseng Team leader deal with the Call. I have recordings of their conversations.
It is school holidays and they advised that someone will uplift. I logged the call on Sunday and today is a week after on Monday. They call and advise that they apologize and that they mis informed me. Totally bad customer service.
