vinyl siding installation
March 12th 2018. I paid in full, for vinyl siding install. Specifically stated I did not want the same contractor who did my window installation in 2014. He made a complete mess out of the job and my home. I was assured it was not him doing my siding. My saleman said they would get started in two weeks. Month later I called to say I hadn't heard from anyone. He says they will be there on Monday. They start a few bumps and lots of seems. Using the wrong color trim. I tell the saleman. He said no problem he had to order the right color they will be back next week and fix the mistakes. The next week contractor said it will be to much trouble to change. Starts up again using the wrong color and the work is so sloppy. Call salesman again. He assured me it would be fixed. He was going to be on the job with them. Same mistake the next day. I asked for a different contractor. A month later I learn these boys are working for the contractor I stated I did not want on my job. They told me it would be one month to get another one. Ask for my money back. Less my materials. I was told the contractor had the rest of my materials and they wouldnt be liable for the exchange. I'm being charge for for materials I never received. They claiming I have I do not h as have. Cant order materials because Saydie with corporate refuses to give me a copy of my invoice. Did not get my $1000. rebate I was told I'd get on siding. Getting letters saying i did not purchase $1000.00 worst of siding yo get the rebate. My contractors remove everything Lowes contractors did to find they did not replace the old insulation and were there was no insulation the didn't put any. I was supposed to have new
Insulation. They were supposed to remove and replace all rotten board. They did not! Every windows lowes installer put in the year of 2014 all the wood around and under my windows was rotten. They put new siding on top of the rot, nails wouldn't even stay in the wall. Did not used starter stripes. Only used three to four nails in a 12ft. Strip of siding. Unbelieve! To top it all off my house had siding and it was nothing wrong with what I had. I was trying to get my home in good shape before I retire. They took all my siding, shutters stripped my house to nothing worked 4 day out of two weeks. Months my home has been exposed and everytime it rains water is pouring in my windows to a completely new remodel home. New walls, custome window frames and new hardwood floors getting wet.. ive sent them pictures. I feel I should I get all my money back. Its days before I get a response. Cant get a honest answer. And Saydie at the corporate office blocks me from getting through to someone over her head. I really think she enjoys showing me she's in charge and in control.
kitchen cabinetry
As a previous Lowes employee, I apologize to all of customers having complaints with their kitchen cabinetry orders.
It is a very expensive investment in your family's home.
Lowes has a non existent cabinet Specialist training program. I literally did not even receive basic training materials needed, with exception of viewing of few short training videos on 20/20 design.
I was not even provided with a new employee white, spiral manual and was given no education on policies and procedures. The only time I learned anything was when I was told not to do something a specific way.
They assigned me to the position with another new girl to the department (within 6 months) and a new PSI which had no previous experience in building or design, but were both standing employees. (I have 5 years as a project manager .)
The sales manager for the store #1808 told me to compete against my co worker if I wanted to "feed my family". No sense of teamwork so that the three of us may learn from each others strengths was ever instilled. Just say whatever you must to sell it today even if it is designed poorly.
As I had no training and no reference books, my only choices was to ask my fellow department employee who did not want to help me learn, as she was trying to "feed her family" and knowledge for me was competition for her.
When asking my other option, the non experienced PSI, she would tell me "she had no clue".
My co Cabinet Specialist had prior worked in the install sales office and had a favorable relationship with the sales manager. She used her relationship, knowledge of the install department and computet access, to return things onto other back office employees who sales were not monitored, as well as give free Details and offer extra "freebies" that she had Lowes contractors perform and then wrote off on the back end in order to get her sales.
She often told customers without accurate measurements to "order things now and we'll return whatever doesn't work" to get her numbers, only to return excess stock to another back end associates sales number and then put the cabinets on the discount rack. Thus, delaying customers to actually get what they need accurately, the first time with a thoughtfull design.
The stores inexperienced PSI, would assign my coworker all projects so that she could assist her in performing a job. However, I watched numerous Project Specialist Interior (PSI) projects poorly managed and executed, causing customers great delay and quality dissatisfaction.
As such, I unfortunately, would advise everyone to avoid their exorbitant and problem riddled cabinet & PSI department.
remodeling of two baths and kitchen
We contracted with the Lowe's store on Feb 17, 2018 to remodel two bath's and a kitchen and paid them just over $34, 000. Now it is June 11, almost four months later and we still do not even have a working toilet or shower. All that has been done is tile laid in the kitchen, laundry room and just last week in the two baths. The kitchen cabinets are hung, no counter tops yet. The cabinets were installed over raw sheetrock around where the sink plumbing is, no mudding in or paint. The tub is in place but not hooked up to plumbing. The contractor promised my wife two weeks ago they would have a bath completed by the time we returned from Florida. Did not happen, we still do not have a toilet or shower. We are ready to get our own independent contractor to finish the work we have already paid Lowe's to do just so we can have a toilet and shower. At the rate Lowe's and their contractor is going it will be a year before they are done.
laundry double door/customer service
We are going on 7 months waiting for installation of laundry room door. We have received terrible customer service. You would think that after this many months someone within Lowe's would take some interest and pride in their service and make this right. You can't get information over the phone. If you do get a person on the line they give you incorrect information on the status of your order. Therefore you have to go in to the store and hope the person you need to talk to happens to be in.
THIS DOOR HAS BEEN ORDERED 4TIMES! It takes 6-8 weeks each time it has to be reordered. The First time it was ordered it come in with incorrect hardware and had huge gaps between the hinges and the door, the second time the dimensions were incorrect so the sales person suggested we use larger molding to cover up the error. We refused to do so because it wouldn't match the molding in the house and doors near by. The third time there were nails driven through it. The door has arrived in store for the 4th time. We were told we would be contacted for installation within 2 days. It has been 5 days and we have not been contacted and have NO installation date.
The crazy thing is Lowe's charged our credit card 7 months ago and we still do not have a door.
We will never do business with Lowe's again. All our future home improvements will be done with Home Depot.
washer
I purchased all my appliances easton Lowes store May 29 2016 with 5 years protection plan. About a month ago my washer broken and I called Lowes service dep. and they sent a service technician he looked my washer and he sad your washer has big issue but do not worry you covered with protection plan. I received phone call couple days later from the lowes service dep. and they told me your machine needs to be replace. Couple days later Lowes called me and told me they can not locate my purchase and they sad, I returned my appliances which was the most ridicules thing that I ever heard because I still have them. anyway I gave them my lowes membership account print out where all my purchased recorded by Lowes. still they sad they can not locate my purchase. I have spent countless hour on the phone and writing email still no result. One of their representative called and sad he fixed the issue and gave me reference number and sad in couple days Lowes would called you to schedule a delivery but no one called me and I called Lowes and they sad whoever you talked made a mistake we can not confirm your purchase. I cal Lowes blame their local store local store says they called Lowes gave them all info still no result. It seems to me Lowes sells protection plan but it is fraud they do not provide any services. blaming their local store local store blames Lowes super service dep. No one takes responsibility.
I have all the emails that Lowes sent me.

management
My name is amy smith and I work at the lowes in murphy, nc. The management at this store are so inbred you cannot get anything done. If your not a "local" then they do not care about you. I wish corporate would step in and fix this local problem we are having. And I am not the only one who thinks this, many are frustrated that only locals and their friends and family get the good jobs. Is there anything I can do?
So here is another story of how BAD Lowe's is. We flooded during hurricane Irma in September of 2017. It is now almost 9 months later, June 11, 2018 and we still do not have a working toilet or shower. We paid Lowe, s in Savannah, GA on Abercorn Street over $34, 000 on Feb 17, 2018 to redo two baths and our kitchen. To this date, four months later, we have tile on the kitchen floor and in the laundry room. They just tiled the bathroom floors last week. Two weeks ago the contractor from Lowe's finally installed our kitchen cabinets. Of course the sheetrock behind the kitchen sink cabinet is still raw, not mudded in or painted. The contractor did not care because it would not be seen. The bathtub in one bath is in place but not hooked up to the plumbing. The contractor promised my wife two weeks ago that when we returned from Florida this next time at least one bath would be done and functioning and the ice maker would be hooked up and working. Did not happen, all that was done was a terrible tile job on the bathroom floors, We hope the trim will cover the large gaps left by the tile guy. Once Lowe's gets your money they could care less if the work get's done in a timely manner. I have even talked to corporate who promised to monitor the progress of the work but the representative for corporate has not contacted us since, that was over a month ago. My advice to anyone needing to remodel is get an independent contractor of your own choosing. Never hire remodeling work through Lowe's, they do nothing but promise you the world until they get your money and then you never here from them as the weeks just keep passing by. After nine months without a toilet or shower my patience is definitely gone.
work experience
I worked for Lowe's for about 8 months. I loved my job and the people I worked with but not the people I worked for. About a little over a month ago I started having trouble with a female manager. I continued to do my job and tolerate her for as long as I could. The day I finally had enough she had LP watching me through a security camera in my department. The LP person came down on the sales floor walked directly past me to a co worker of mine and said to tell me to stop talking so much. I guess she wasn't aware that in my line of work (customer service) it is imperative that I talk. I went directly to HR and filled a complaint. The HR person said he would look into the matter and in a couple days get back with me. Well I heard nothing until the manager I had the issue with told me that my role within the company would be changing and so would my hours. When I started with Lowe's we had a contract that they failed to honor. I have never in my life seen a company in such disarray. From the store manager down the communication was non existent. The only requirement for working there was that you had a pulse. No professional treatment of customers or employees whatsoever. I find it rather bothersome when a company has internal theft of customers credit cards and the customers are made aware.
flooring
Lowes(Chester, VA Weir Rd)subcontracted my flooring project (Sunrise Carpet & Vinyl Richmond VA).The entire process has been a nightmare. It started with scheduling an appointment (2/1/18) for measurements for potential flooring project. Weeks went by, I made multiple calls/complaints attempting to obtain estimates. Nearly 4 weeks later I received estimates. I ultimately came into the store 3/3/18 to for final review choose options and signed a contract for vinyl flooring. The "project manager" Lindsey went over project however was not the individual who actually saw my home and took measurements. 3 transitions/threshold were quoted for my project. I was given the impression my floors would be continuous (level from room to room per project layout) and that appropriate work/labor was included in my estimate. I paid for the entire project at that time (3/3/18). Floor install was scheduled for 3/19/18 with delivery of material scheduled for 3/17/18. Upon install date workers discovered that transitions(3) were not delivered however they could be picked up from local lowes, (but not the ones I ordered because those were special order, not carried in store) and would match well enough, but bigger issue was that my project required more transitions because removal of existing floors was not included in my work project and would increase the costs of my project 34%. The crew was unable to preform work until I agreed to either not have continuous floors which I was given the impression with "project manager" layout or pay additional 34%. There is a huge lack of communication, the project manager never sees the home, is not the one who measures and cannot accurately manage a project she has ever seen or give sound recommendations. The measurer is separate from lowes (project manager) and the installers are yet a 3rd party. Ultimately the Lowes manager split the costs to allow for work to begin (after 2 hours of trying to resolve) I felt taken advantage of, the project and costs should have been explained to me at the time of signing contract and not be forced to pay additional costs. Floors were installed. Satisfactory. However trim work in some areas was poor, already coming lose, large gap in area that should have had 2 pieces of trim, as well as caulk color did not match floors. The floors came with 1 year warranty. I noticed siginificant warping in a large area and caleld lowes for instructions to have repair work 4/14/18 & 4/15/18. Could not reach anyone at local store had to call for next 2 days to get corp #. Appt was ultimately scheduled for 4/24/18. Workers came out to access removed quarter round to see if floor settled. Waited a week, still warping. Scheduled yet another apt 5/10. Please note that I am having to call local store, corp lowes and sunrise each time because no communication between the 3. A work order was to be placed for material needed to replace warped section of flooring (5/10/18) after more than a week with no follow-up I called corp & sunrise 5/17, Can't get thru to local store (nor could corp). Still no call back or resolution from a work order from April 15, 2018 (now 5/22/18). I will not recommend Lowes Flooring, or subcontractor Sunrise Carpet & Vinyl Richmond VA to anyone. There is no accountability or communication or professional structure between Local Lowes, Corp and sub contractor. I have never had to call so many different entities to get work completed. I get run-a-around from every one I talk to in addition to having to pay extra at the time of install and now they are not honoring warranty/repair work as I am still pushing for them to complete the work order. Material needs to be scheduled for delivery, have heard nothing on this, and an install date - NOTHING. Terrible experience and feel the only way to resolve is a formal complaint because calling all 3 doesn't seem to get the job done.
Desired Outcome:
I would like my warranty/repair work to be completed. Lowes/Sunrise has failed to communicate with me and schedule my work.
Uneithical employee behavior & poor management
On Tuesday, April 24, 2018 I was called into the office of Store Manager xxxxxxxxxxx and informed my employment with Lowe's was being terminated, effective immediately. When I asked the reason I was being terminated, I was told, "Due to your work performance." Upon asking the SM to be more specific, he replied, "It's not up for discussion."
In retrospect, no examples were offered because over the course of my employment personal opinions, gossip, and general pettiness - in other words, LIES - were used to evaluate my performance.
I performed my duties to the best of my ability; the entire time working in an environment that was both stressful and oftentimes hostile, enduring slanderous accusations without ONCE being allowed to confront any of my (suspected) accusers: namely, Head Cashier xxxxxxxxxxx, CSA Loaders xxxxx & xxxxxx, and Cashier xxxxx. It is laughable MY performance was called into question when I witnessed numerous incidents of both Ms. xxxxx and xxxxx yelling at fellow employees in the presence of customers or being rude towards employees and customers. In addition to spreading lies about me "soliciting customers to meet at hotel rooms" and cursing at customers and employees, Ms. xxxxx bragged about having "gotten folks fired."
Mr. xxxxxxxx failed in his responsibilities as SM on many levels, but the most glaring failure of all was allowing the aforementioned behavior to go on; neglecting to diffuse a situation that could have been resolved by simply by bringing the parties together and allowing BOTH sides to be heard. Instead, hearsay was taken into account, allowed to go unchecked, and I wound up paying the ultimate price: termination.
Furthermore, Mr. xxxxxxxxxx exhibited a complete lack respect and was needlessly cruel when terminating me: Several weeks prior to my termination, I submitted a (medical) request for time off regarding surgery. The request was approved by the ASM, xxxxxxxxxx, and I was scheduled off from April 25th through April 29th. Fully aware of this, Mr. xxxxxxxxxx terminated my employment with Lowe's THE DAY BEFORE MY SCHEDULED SURGERY, and thus terminated my benefits. I say "fully aware, " because when I told him that I would be without insurance coverage now that I was fired and asked if he had been planning to fire me all along, he responded in the affirmative.
THIS is the type of individual Lowe's has supervising its employees and worst of all, representing its organization! This "manager" -and by extension, LOWE'S - has turned a blind eye to the incompetence, poor customer service, and most of all the toxic environment that has been allowed to fester (and rule) under his supervision.
As a result, I fully support every family member and friend to whom I have relayed my experience with Lowe's 1) sharing my experience on social media 2) to not only take their business elsewhere, but to 3) advise any and all whom THEY know to do the same.
Signed,
Employee #1003893
negligent driver has been reported multiple times by coworkers, nothing done about it
First let me start off by saying that I'm going to be very vague on things like location out of fear of retaliation for posting this. I also want to clarify that I am not currently an employee of Lowe's and have never been. I am posting this on behalf of my significant other, who has been working for Lowe's for about 4 1/2 years.
My SO works in the delivery department as a helper. There is a particular employee who is employed as a driver who has repeatedly been negligent and careless while driving. This driver has run stop signs multiple times, backed into parked vehicles, drives onto people's lawns, and has hit wooden posts. They speed and drive recklessly.
On top of their poor driving, this employee routinely commits other violations, such as offering to do side jobs and not carrying their driver's license with them. This employee has even honked at and flirted with drivers and passengers of other vehicles while at stop lights. They have failed to secure appliances in the truck, which has resulted in damage significant enough to completely ruin appliances.
These incidents have been reported to the department managers several times by multiple employees. I have spoken with some of my SO's coworkers who have told me that they reported it. They are always told that they have to submit a written statement, which the employee being complained about will be able to view. If they are unwilling to submit a written statement, then I guess the management considers these complaints as informal, and they apparently go ignored.
I have told my SO that they should tell their managers that they refuse to go out with this employee because this employee is reckless and they do not feel safe with this employee behind the wheel. My SO can't really do that though, since they'd absolutely lose hours and possibly be terminated as a result.
I have never worked for a company that actively showed an employee the complaints from coworkers that were resulting in disciplinary action. To me, this feels like a blatant violation of confidentiality.
To ignore this situation feels like a violation of Lowe's own safety policies.
Hauling refrigerators and ovens up and down stairs and doing driving of any kind is hazardous enough without the added danger that results from this driver not paying attention or just not caring enough to drive in a safe manner.
What should my SO and their coworkers do about this? Is there anything I can do?
grill
I have a charbroil grill model [protected]. Bought it November 2017. Have used it 5 times. It will never get over 425 degrees, will not cook steaks, never hot enough. I called charbroil and lady said should get hotter, she had me try several things, no change. She had a new regulator sent out. Put it on, no change. Tried another new tank, no change. I called charbroil and the guy said will not go over 450 degrees. As it was over 3 months now, went to Lowe's and they said there is nothing they will do. Called charbroil and said all they will do is give me a $75.00 towards a new charbroil. This grill is rated 36, 000 BTU. I have another home with a charbroil, and it gets up two 650 degrees in less than 10 minutes and it is rated at 40, 000 BTU. Got no help so going to the dump. No more charbroil for me.
ethics on store management lowe's store #1509
Some workers are allowed to take 2 20minute breaks and 1 1/2 hr lunches without being reprimanded these same people are using part time people as their excuse when their work isn't getting done and management is allowing it to go on I am disappointed that this store has gotten to this point. No help nobody working together it all goes back to poor management
pitiful shower installation and theft of jewelry
I'm writing the review to warn others to never use Lowes on remodeling jobs of any sort. The nightmare began when we first signed our contract with them on January 3, 2018. We went through the inside sales department. The job began with the saleswoman walking us down many isles saying "that would look nice"...and taking notes as we walked. The job was supposed to be a simple remodel. We looked at the Lowes website and chose some of the fixtures...new faucets, new lights, new vanity top and tile for the shower remodel. She kept pushing Onyx products on us. (the most expensive pieces, of course). We described the shower door we wanted but unfortunately it wasn't on the showroom floor. So once again, we mention privacy door and she wrote notes for an Onyx privacy door and shower pan. The vanity top was also an Onyx product. What they failed to mention was that Onyx products are special order items that can take a month or more to get in the Lowes warehouse.
We then find out that the stories about their contractors having thorough background checks was a lie. The first contractor was sent in for the pre-construction meeting at our home. They looked over things, made tick marks in a fancy notebook...flipping through the pages quickly and asked us to sign yet another contract with Lowes contractor. We were only allowed to call the project manager, who was never available. The vanity came in the wrong color so that was the first stop to the remodel job and it took another several weeks of waiting.
Finally, the new colored vanity came in and it was back to work for the crew. The crew was divided into sub-contractors of the Lowes appointed contracting firm. The first crew changed the start date to the second week in April 2018. Yeah, this was the fourth month of waiting.
The second crew, the tile guys didn't speak any English. They were two illegal immigrants working under the table. Well, we were told that they would only be here for two hours to finish the Kerdi sheet rock vapor seal. What really happened was they snooped around in a closed closet to find our safe and they stole over $2000 worth of gold jewelry. We had to make a police report and deal with the original contractor who denied the event ever happened.
We told Lowes that we wanted a new contractor. A week later, they sent a 23-year-old with one-year experience to finish tiling the shower. He tiled the shower alright. But none of the sides or the shower pan are level. Then he hung part of the shower door crooked into the tile and not into the studs making the door so crooked that it left a 1/4" gap down the side of the door. Then this young man told us that the other half of the door was too long and had to be re-ordered through Onyx. This meant another month wait. And now were into May and the entire shower looks like a person watched YouTube lessons before doing the tile work.
Today, May 10, 2018...we are still waiting for Lowes store managers to return calls. We tried Lowes Corporate only to be re-connected back to the local Lowes general manager. And he's either at lunch or left for the day. Lowes has been avoiding us for weeks now and after five months of waiting the shower is still not usable. The shower was supposed to be converted into an ADA handicap accessible shower. But the measurements don't match.
We had another independent contractor come over to evaluate this shower and he just shook his head and pointed out all the flaws. His company could have saved us $4, 000 had we chosen his company. The total price of this horrible remodel through Lowes came to $12, 400. And the only way to correct the errors made, is to gut the whole shower and start from scratch with an independent professional contractor who warned us to avoid Lowes. Like I mentioned in the beginning of this review this has been a never-ending nightmare!
If you're not a colored nutcake, I'd take Lowes to court. Make sure to sue for your legal costs, too. You've been screwed.
roof installation
Actually this is the last thing I wanted to do, but my illusion of Lowes standing behind their work has been shattered. I replaced my roof od 30 years, ( not because it was leaking), but because it was old. I had 4 estimates done. I choose Lowes because I thought they would always be there in the future and stand behind their work. I have reciently descovered a leak in an upstairs room we use for storage. I dont know how long its been leaking but enough to cause the sheetrock to come off the wall. Now here we go, I reported this to the store I purchased the roof from and was told someone would be out to check on leak, ok, pleased so far. No one came, called back to hear my 2 year labor warrenty is up. I have read my contract from front to back and it says nothing about warrentee being up after 2 years. It shouldnt be leaking at all. Next I speak with customer care. Associate agrees with me and reccomends Lowes look at my roof. Back to being pleased. I get a call from roof installation in N. Carolina and am told again my two year warrentee is up and everyone sorry this has happened but we will turn you over to the shingle company now. Owens shingles told me (at my expense) I am to call a roofing company, have "them" come out and access roof. They provided the roof company number I'm to call. It's one of the companies I had come out and give me an estimate, but I chose Lowes. So Hi other company, sorry I didn't choose you to put my roof on but will you come out and tell me why my Lowes roof is leaking. Did I mention I have a contract that says nothing about a two year warrentee, according to Lowes this is general knowledge
employment
Shoppers beware. If you are a hard worker and a shopper of Lowes please stop shopping there. Why they fire hard workers that report soreness or off the job injuries and on the job injuries. We had a safety meeting where the safety office told all employees that we need to report any soreness or on or off the job injuries. And my stupid self thought I was doing the right thing by reporting my soreness (a medical condition) and a week later they fired me for it. If you shop at Lowes please stop shopping there in support of me and every other worker they fire because of this. I worked at Lowes rdc 1436 Lebanon Oregon. I thought I liked the job till they pulled this crap. Support workers and boycott Lowes till this stops.
I see this site let's people hack or use your user name to post that second post that starts with Actually is from a Lowes shill not me. I will correct the shill who hacks my user name everytime. Hmm the password will change now I forgot I used that password for my Lowes stuff.
Actually they did not actually fire me for my disability as there would be a lawsuit. So they fired me because they caught me cheating from them instead to disguise firing me for being sore due to my medical condition.
So we have a shill from Lowes talking nonsense now. When the lawsuit goes to court for wrongful termination the facts will come out. First my records and Lowes records (plus my many hats and shirts that say gold performer) will show no cheating here. Plus stupid if I was cheating then they could of just fired me right for that. But they didn't they fired me for what I stated. But umm let's see they fired me for what I said in my first post. I left some stuff out like the reason they said was I didn't report it right away but let's see I did at least 3 month before hand and the took me off the volunteer position I was doing. And the computer system program they use will show that plus all my paper work (off standards) that they know for sure I kept copies of and a complete record of everything I have done in there. See one thing I got is my records. There is no reason I would cheat the job is not that hard. I guess this is their way of distorting the truth but records don't lie and my record is clear and always gold and hey I also won rewards for being safe. So they have no leg to stand on. They know I am going to file a lawsuit I told them I gave them a chance to correct it they didn't. One thing about me they should know is my friend was sold a broken down car and tried to return it and was told to get lost so I took the car and bought about 100 lemons and parked the car in front of the lot with a sign don't buy a lemon from this car dealer the car and lemons and me stayed there for 3 weeks till the dealer could not take the customer loss anymore and refunded my friends money. He was just a friend Lowes is screwing with my family now. I have contacted Home Depot about obtaining 10 percent off coupons and if they agree I will in my travels stand out near all the Lowes I come near and hand them out with my story.
And Actually there will be a lawsuit with out a doubt. And Actually a word I don't use along with the wording of your whole post is and don't sound like me is in fact a shill for Lowes. Let me tell you something that maybe you may not know about me. When I file my lawsuit the first thing I will ask the Judge for is a subpoena for this site and that post to get the ip address and all other info about that post. So I hope your not stupid stupid and posted that on one of their computers or on your own phone because I will have you charge with hacking, identity theft and any other relevant charges. And we will see how Lowes protects you. I am not stupid stupid I know my way around a court room and it isn't from the wrong side of the law hacker.
roofing installation
We had Lowes in Sayre, PA install our roofing shingles on a very large home as we were assured they follow code and standards as you should expect from a large company. Worst workmanship you could ever find! The installer had to go back and fix about 27 issues and this was on a $20k installation. Then we complained again and of course they had already fired the installer - no kidding and said basically - too bad for us! We have had to hire others to follow up and just had work completed as the installer told us the very top of the home was fine for years to come and didn't follow up. See pictures attached as what this "professional roofer" left for us to deal with. Thank goodness for drones! STAY AWAY FROM LOWES SERVICES - especially in SAYRE, PA ! We know many people that have had similar experiences from A-Z with Lowes installations!
I hired Universal Roof & Chimney to do my roof in Long Island NY, April 2018. The worst workmanship ever! They told me it was my roof that was leaking when in fact it was my Chimney. They started doing the roof and told me my chimney was coming off my house. So I was scared and told them to do a new chimney. They knocked down the chimney. I told them the liner was replaced a few years ago and was new. But they put in a terracotta insert anyway, they said it had to be that way. After the job was complete 2 days later my brother came over and I noticed the corking was coming off. I called them right away. They have not fixed yet. The install the gutter tilting toward the house so the rain came in. The did not install the flashing in correctly. The used a long nail behind the chimney and poked thru my wall in my shower. Need less to say they did not repair. A few weeks later I went into my basement and noticed a smell. They knocked out the pipe to my boiler and all the fumes were backing into my home. I called them and they came to look at it and said I will fix it. I said no. I am going to call a boiler guy, as I had a new pipe installed over the winter with new hot water heater and I know the boiler guy made adjustment. Boiler guy said thank god you have oil, if this was gas we would not be talking right now. The broke my fence, they broke my mail box, they broke all my flower pots and turned them around so I did not see them till after. They left my house a mess. None of the tiles match up, they were working till after 9:00 pm. They are butchers. See some photos.
flooring
Wife and I went into Lowe's in Vernal, Ut. not to many places here to choose from. We ordered Cali bamboo flooring for the kitchen, laundry and main bathroom. We got the right flooring but the installer didn't know a thing about installing flooring. Though he is the best one they have. Install should be 1/2 inch from the walls not 3/5 to1"gap. The flooring should have been laid opposite from the floor joists not with them. Then instead of running a continuous floor broke up each room with a half [censored] install of tread which comes up. The lines for each room don't match up. Then putting cut pieces of less than 8" more like 2" in the doorways. I told them that this job was not good and I wanted it fixed to what I want. That didn't happen. So likeso many others I'm going to spend some time and redo it the right way not the Lowe's way. I added a few photos of this sucky install.
We have used Lowes for our rentals and never had an issue to question the measurements until the company they are using now. All other townhouses came back needing about 864 sq. ft of carpeting. This guy cam out and said we needed 972 sq. ft. of carpeting. When I questioned the salesperson he thought it was a little weird that there was so much difference also. In checking their records it showed the last one at 864 so why so much difference? That made the carpeting about 300-400 dollars higher. They ask them but could not come up with a reason and decided not to do anything about the discrepancy so I guess our business means nothing to the people working there.
customer service
We ordered some ship lap a week ago and the East Peoria store had to order it from the Peoria store. Not enough . We called on Tuesday and were told it was in. Mind you we already paid for it. We went tonight, Friday, to pick it up. Mind you the head cashier first asked us what ship lap was.. then asked us what department it was in.. and then asked us if we were there for the rebates . Wow. We waited there for 45 min just to have them tell us they didn't have our order . Keep in mind they also didn't believe us when we stated we had called and were told it was here . We didn't get a pick up truck and drive out here on a whim . What made it worse was
That she had the audacity to get angry at me
For getting upset ! I even stated I was mad at the situation and not the clerk. She actually smirked and crossed he arms and wouldnt even look at me when I asked for an apology . They made us wait for 45 min for nothing . From 8pm to 8:45. We just told them to give us our money back. I will never shop there again! We were goning to use them for our kitchen remodel. Not now! Going to stick with Menards!

Similar situation with Hardie Siding, they switched Sub Contractor, new Contractor, BROKEN ENGLISH, would nod and seem to understand but it was one fiasco after another. The Lowes Sales Person who knew nothing about Construction became the Project Manager. I would complain and am told to talk to the Contractor, "He's a Professional." Sloppy Workmanship and Leaving the Gutters on the ground, not reinstalling Electrical, not replacing Trim, I'm told they Consider the Job Done and Left. Contract required a particular type of Arbitration, you can't collect Legal Fee's even if you Prevail. And just too how far they thought this out, NO CLASS ACTION. THIS IS WHY YOU SEE SO MANY NEGATIVE EXPERIENCES WITH LOWES INSTALLATION. THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THEIR DOING AND DON'T CARE.
