MultiChoice Africa / DSTV Storage Wars host Dan Dotson

The host, Mr Dan Dotson's abusive, gender based violence towards his wife, Ms Laura Dotson, is against our Constitution and leads to encouraging men to speak to women in a VERY disrespectful and demising manner! PLEASE CANCEL all upcoming Episodes and Seasons where he hosts this Series as his conduct to woman, and especially his wife, are NOT CONDONED, considered OFFENSIVE and MORALLY WRONG!

Desired outcome: Seize all upcoming Episodes and Series of Storage Wars where Dan Dotson is the host!

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV No service

I'm totally annoyed

I have had to contact MultiChoice upmteenth times about disconnections, your agents lie and no manager or supervisor has gotten back to me,the whole week up and down with calls

I knew I made a bad decision by not getting a smart TV box and listening to your Sales agent

Who has now migrated my package, tied me down for 24 months but failed to liaise with accounts about my prorata fee being brought forward as he promised!

I can provide you with the escalation reference is #INC-1182218 your other agent gave me this reference but I don't this was even escalated

To make it worse another response was 72 hours after I sent the email for assistance, when I asked why it took so long ,she told me that she was very busy

Wow I'm appauled!

Someone kindly get back to me or please take your decoder, we can't beg those we pay!

Desired outcome: I can provide you with the escalation reference is #INC-1182218

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV Payments

Made my payments that was due for each month for the premium package and they confirm with call on the 22/07/2022 @3 and confirm dstv have the issue resolved, yet they confirm they have not done so at all and the service they deliver is putrid.

DSTV confirm there was a missing payment since 1st March 2021 and they confirm they have done an audit which show the outstanding/refersal from one bank to another bank.

This is truly upsetting when you know that they work on a month to month basis, this needs to raise cause dstv will switch you service off immediately and when they are wrong they get away with it.

Desired outcome: Services needs to be restored ASAP and compensation.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV Poor customer service

Good day,

I am so furious, my dstv went off I then checked my amount due to dstv its R1700 something, I then contacted them and spoke to one of the consultants, he then told me its because of being a valued customer they did not switch of my dstv but accumulated interest daily for the grace days they have been given me, I then said its [censored] as I person that works in finance and because dstv is not a monthly but month to month why did they not switch off at the time... I am disgusted in the service and communication as that was not told to me.

DSTV is pathetic and just a money making thing.

I feel I should not pay this bill of interest and month as this should have been disconnected for the month.

Now it becomes the customers fault and ownis to pay the bill DSTV created when the dstv should have been put off at the time.

regards,

Very Upset Customer

Desired outcome: I refuse to pay the days where i had "grace" for the whole month and interest as my dstv shouldve been off for the month and not a whole month of grace and interest

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV Disney+ not activated

I received a call from a DSTV agent on the 30.06.2022 to add Disney + to my DSTV Package, I agreed to it. Since then I have not been able to watch it, every time I go on it says I must subscribe. I have been trying since the 15th of July to get this corrected. Every time I phone I have to retell my story to a different call center agent, and each time the agent tells me it shows active on their side and they will escalate it to the technical department and it will be fixed in 24 hours, It is costing me a fortune in airtime to tell my same story every day. No one is resolving this issue. I have even contacted Disney+ and they have said that on their end is shows that DSTV cancelled the subscription on the 30/06/2022. A call center agent phoned be back on the 15th July at about 17.30, and said that my subscription had been disconnected by them in error and they would correct it, but because it is a 24 month contract it might take a bit longer, but it would be corrected by the 16th July 2022. It is now the 20th of July almost a month since I took out this contract and I still dont have an active Disney+ channel. This is the most pathetic, disgusting service I have ever received, I will not recommend DSTV to anyone.

Desired outcome: I would appreciate someone responds to me with a solution to my problem.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV Internet

I tried phoning twice, whatsapp, self service on website, emailed. And they phoned back just to verify account. No one is helping fixing my problem. This is been going on since 21 June. I can't access my Internet during the day and I can only use roll over night data since 21 June till now. Everyday I reboot the router and it keep saying my network is offline. I am paid up for the month upfront and made another payment thinking it could be the problem. Almost Everytime I am told my data is depleted... 21 June the router went offline, 25 June I'm suppose to receive new months data. SINCE 21St router went network offline how am I able to use data if my router network is offline? I took screenshots and are taking this matter to ombud because I got NO HELP so far. Im also thinking to get legal help because this is rediculous.

Desired outcome: Want my internet restored. Or my wifi network online. A. S. A. P. Because my kids are losing school days about this.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV DSTV robbed me

On the 18/07 I got a call from a consultant to join Disney plus, he told me if I sign a contract I would pay only R60 more on my premium account ( that’s a lie) I agreed , I wanted to pay my yearly payment they told me my account has gone up by R250 a month and must pay a cancellation fee straight away of R280 , they then blocked my account I have been with them since 1990s, I have always paid the exuberant fees now my account is blocked until I pay a fee for this guy lying to me, I’m pretty sure they are trained to lie and then charge you a cancellation fee , why would they block my account straight away it’s never been blocked in 25years they are now to dumb to reconnect unless I pay for this imbecile mistake

Marco Di Stefano +[protected]

Desired outcome: Reconnect me and don’t charge also stop lying to your customers

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV Incorrect /sneaky billing

Good day, last year I was called by your agent offering me the ultra on price lock. I am on Compact plus and agreed for the ultra to be delivered and connected, she gave us a set amount of less than R600. Amount then increased due to dstv insurance (R39) and Showmax (R49). This year around Easter, I won a months upgrade to Premium (on the DSTV APP), and 3 Months free viewing of Disney plus, to my suprise, monthend of May i was billed for premium and Disney plus, I enquired and an agent came back later and told me to pay R700 as I usually do which I did. Continued with my viewing, come monthend, same story again, I am charged for Premium and Disney plus. I reached out again and was advised by an agent to pay R542 to reconnect services until August. I got a shock of my life when services for disconnected while I was watching TV yesterday. I called dstv and was holding for close to 40 minutes while agents were discussing issue. I sent an email to a team leader with all my supporting documents and waited for her to get back to me, to no avail. Kindly assist as I have paid what I know I should pay. Whatever error was made on their side should not now be my burden.

Desired outcome: Pay me back or reconnect my services and fix whatever issue they have. I don't not consent to a dstv upgrade and will not pay for something i never asked for..

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV Misleading advertisement of multichoice products

On 09 July 2022, I signed in on the DSTV website, on my customer profile and selected the option for the Premium Streaming package which was advertised at R699 for 3 months. I was unable to view which channels was available only how many channels I would enjoy. After paying the R453 they told me to, we activated the premium streaming package and discovered the package does not offer the SS1 channel which is where we want to watch the rugby. As I had 2 birthdays over the weekend, I could only follow up on my purchase 12 July 2022. I discovered that I owed over R4100 to dstv and when I contacted the customer service, I was told that 4 Premium streaming packages was activated by "me". The rest of the balance due was for next month's premiums. After to and fro, 3 of the packages was taken of and when I checked my balance this morning, 13 July 2022, I owe dstv R1123,57. When I contacted customer services again I was told that the R699 promo is only for new clients and that I owe the full amount of R839 or something in that range. And the balance due of R235 and cents was for the time after they discontinued my previous Family package, so they charge me for services not rendered but now they have activated services which I have not paid for in full. I am extremely unhappy and I believe that I was mislead.

Desired outcome: Please cancel my subscription and refund the balance of the money I paid. I no longer wish to be a client of DSTV

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV DSTV accredited installer.

I had an installer come to my house to sort out the DSTV when we moved, he then said to me that i needed some extra box to be put into the roof that would cost R850.00 plus the call out of R450. I found this strange as a friend stayed in this house before and he had no issues with his tv's in any room. I paid him and he installed something i did not even see, when i confronted him about this he said its already been put in and handed me an old box that it came in that did not look very new. Load shedding happened and he said not to worry all is sorted out and it will work. After load shedding it did not work, i called him and he said he would be back but did not come, i called him again and his car broke down but would come yesterday at 10 o'clock which did not happen again, so my question is, is this the type of contractors DSTV employ that just comes out to your house to steal from you. His name is Joshua and number [protected] so don't use him, well done DSTV protecting your clients no wonder we are moving away from DSTV. My number is [protected] ([protected]@enviroware.co.za) Marius for more info.

Desired outcome: Have this gent removed from your accredited installer list because he is giving your company a bad name.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV Streaming

Good day DSTV.

I am very disappointed, as I use to be able to stream on my laptop, tv and tablet. Now I purchased another smart TV and I get told I am only able to stream on one device at a time. Meaning my wife who wants to watch her stuff and kids that wants to watch their stuff cannot do so at the same time. So I purchased another TV for no reason. Even Netflix allows me to stream on 2 devices.

Please can the streaming be looked into, or at least allow us to stream on 2 or 3 devices, as this is pathetic, I pay so much money to be inconvenienced.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV Reconnection of my service for the package I paid for

I utilized dstv whatsapp services which I believe it is meant to make our lifes easier but I had a horrible experience. I decided to downgrade my package and I was told by the whatsapp agent that everything is well but I was surprised when I arrived home to find my dstv disconected. Wheb I called I was told that instead of downgrade I opted for an ipgrade which is not true becase I have whatsapp texts as proof. I was then told to pay a reconection fee which after the agent told me that the whatsapp texts wont do much to assist as proof. This came as a shock where I asked the agent why then does this service exist. I was told that I needed to make payment and that is the only way I can be reconnected. I refused to make payment for something that is not my fault nd I honestly feel victimized by this company. Can you kindly assist me.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV DSTV Cancellation

In September 2019 we cancelled our service with MultiChoice due to us moving from South Africa. We cancelled our contract with an agent at MultiChoice and she sent us confirmation that the contract was to be cancelled on 21 September 2019. We left South Africa believing all was done. We then noticed that MultiChoice was still deducting an amount on the 28th of every month. We contacted them and again it was confirmed that all was cancelled, but the payments kept being taken from our account. My husband then wrote to the CEO of multiChoice to which no response was received. Our payment continued to be deducted from our account even though no service was provided and we had confirmed cancellation. Being at a total loss of resolving the issue, we decided to take all the monies from the account that MultiChoice was deducting the amounts from and we noticed that they were still trying to deduct as we were being charged for insufficient funds by the bank. This continued for nearly a year. In total they have deducted R12,809.52 from a service that we no longer used. The monthly amount has also changed and the references to the transfer look a little suspicious. I am almost convinced that a large Company like MultiChoice would not put their customers through this debacle and there may be some fraud within the company. I feel that this should be investigated. The transcript for ticket number 2021130.

Desired outcome: I would like the full amount of these charges to be reimbursed into our account.
