MultiChoice Africa / DSTV My compliant / matter /issue to be resolved not taken seriously or considered

On the day of 27th of August 2022, I made a payment towards my subscription of which I am a day earlier as the initial day of payment it's 28th of every month. My services were still disconnected on the 29th of August 2022. I lodged a call of which I also emailed my proof of payment, I was promised to have my services reconnected but they were not still. I called several times with my proof of payment sent 3 times but still my services would be only reconnected for only a few hours and switched off again. This has caused so much inconvenience as I'm using airtime for to log calls. I have asked to speak to the manager in line or supervisor, I was promised a call back but a day passed without having one. I called back again and I was told there's no manager or supervisor available. It's been 14 days already since the month started and we have been unable to view WHAT I PAID FOR! I wrote an email demanding my money back but still my email was ignored.

Desired outcome: I'd like to be refunded the full of amount paid or be credited with the 14 days that my services were disconnected and that I have not been able to be assisted on.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV The person that works for dstv

The DSTV guys that do private jobs are becoming very dangerous. One of them came to check my TV, he was intoxicated, smelling of alcohol in the middle of the day. He didn't say theres a call out fees, after he checked the TV he demanded call out fees. I asked him why didn't he say ther was call out fees before coming, considering they come around when they in the vicinity. He became aggressive, threatening and insulting.

His name is Marlon. No [protected]

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV Help service gave totally incorrect advice

Customer # 575962X5, premium subscription. Date of problem: 28/8/2022. Showmax not working. Error code 402. Whatsapp help used to attempt to resolve. Very slow. Would send code to fix problem. Never received. Foned

[protected]. Background noise made hearing the (UN)helpful operator near impossible. I complained about this and her reply was that other operators were on help calls. Not true. Very loud SOCIAL conversation. No solution to lack of showmax from operator. Eventually she old me that the reason showmax wasnt working was because our premium subscription no longer entitles us to ALL showmax titles and that we need to pay an additional R250/ month for ALL showmax titles. LIE! Last night, I foned the same help line number and got a black gentleman who couldn't have been more polite and helpful and there was NO background noise. Problem turned out to be that the tv was unconnected to showmax. Operator talked me through the generation of a security code and I was able to access showmax on my laptop and enter the code from the tv screen, Now all showmax titles are available.

Desired outcome: I'd appreciate a response and that the operator who told me about the extra R250 per month for showmax premium customers be disciplined.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV Game promo decoder and 1 month free dstv compact

I purchased a decoder on the 25.08.22 it was then installed on the 27.08.22 the offer at game was purchase a decoder for 599 and get 1 month free dstv compact.. It lasted from the 27 of Aug to the 9th of sep and then I was cut off... I phoned in I was connected but charged and then cut 1 day later and charged again yet the agent who spoke to me said the matter was esculating... I phoned in on the 11th for reconnection I spoke to 6 different agents who could not help me and kept putting me on hold.. I then drove to galleria multichoice where I spoke to a lady that asked me to email Jonas malepo my proof of purchase and the decoder box with the promo on it so he could clear my bill and reconnect me... The whole day went by I got no response and phoned the call center back they asked me to email them the exact same things but failed to respond... How can I be billed for a 1 month free service... Can multichoice start training agents on their promos so they can actually start helping customers rather then wasting our airtime... I have noticed they rather put you on hold then tell u they can not assist and its not fair to pay so much for a standard decoder. Then be cut off and billed for something free and then waste airtime on agents who don't know or are not trained in these matters... Till now I'm disconnected when I got on the media platform I got a response they dealing with it but if it says free and the problem is on multichoice how does that becomes the consumers problem for being cut off... All more attention to customers will so

Desired outcome: Reconnection... And the remaining two weeks free like what multichoice advertised for

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV DSTV Streaming service South Africa

My customer number is [protected]. On the 6 August 2022 I paid R429 to DSTV streaming on the platform provided for DSTV Compact. I have never been a DSTV customer before. DSTV banked my money on the 10 August 2022. See attached full report from FNB bank showing exact time of transaction, 14h50. Something went wrong and DSTV did not allocate to my account. I was open and honest about the fact that I am not great with the internet and perhaps paid into the wrong account, but it was on your DSTV platform so is definitely one of your accounts. Despite this it is now the 9 September and despite many many many emails nobody from the accounts department has ever called me. In addition to this the call centre staff have seen and acknowledged the payment and tried to connect me and now my account is registering that I have to pay RECONNECTION charges. Which makes no sense since I have never been CONNECTED in the first place. I have 10 reference numbers and now due to my agitated emails to [protected]@dstv.com, [protected]@multichoice.co.za, instead of calling me, they have blocked me. Not one call from accounts at all? I have repeatedly sent files in JPEG and PDF (they only accept PDF) format and still nothing.

The reference numbers I have are: [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected].

CAN YOU HELP ME PLEASE.

I have a lot more data in PDF format including a screenshot of the email I received and the button I pressed online to pay the R429 and attached the full bank statement with all codes showing the transaction. On the DSTV app I downloaded on my phone I owed R581 a couple of days ago and today R469. I'm very confused because firstly I do not have a service and secondly the service I asked for is R429. Please can someone that is alive and not a computer explain where on earth these figures come from?

Please help.

Desired outcome: I want the service I have paid for.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV Existing Package

All the staff I dealt with are all incompetent and needs to be trained to offer customer service. It is disgusting to think we pay so much for a service to be bullied by a corporate.

I get charged for a service which I don't use and no agent is helping me.

From Bongiwe, Thandokasi and Ntombovatuko, all empty promise and nobody solves my issue.

I need serious assistance from someone with knowledge please.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV Decoder services - a303302320

Disappointing services and unfulfilled promises

Dstv does not care about their customers they only care about their own benefits, I have been taken from pillar to post for their poor services and promises they gave me the whole last month August 2022

My decorder was not working for the whole month and now I have I must pay again for the service I am not accessing or benefiting for, Since 3rd August I was calling the customer service with no luck of resolutions,

1. They added extra services on my package which I didn't authorize for, I got when I suppose to pay in spar that my subscription is increased from R600 to R800, of which it has been cancelled same-day,

2. Afterwards, my decoder 'S hard drive was not corrupt, according to screen messages, I must call them, they tried to help me over the phone after airtime depleted, spend so much Rands, they send me to their agency, the agency formatted decoder and promised it will work, it was still not working,

3. I whatsapped them again, they said I must bring it in to change it for me, because I am disabled having difficulty in walking, I asked someone to take in for me, it has been changed, but still it's was not working,

4. I have to call customer service again which is yesterday, they again promised that someone from their office will call me back with 011 number, while I waited for call for the whole day, until this morning I was following it up and the lady to me that she can't help me because my service has been suspended, and I must pay for them to help me,

I want to know is it fair for someone to pay for their services that she or he can't access or benefit for? What happened to my last month subscription I paid on the 08/08/2022, and the service was on the 16/08/2022 of R600?

5. For the whole past month, scheduled my programs, but I couldn't watch them, I am on explora but I can't catch up any chance, it keeps in saying "my selected catch up is not available in this country" for the whole month,

Desired outcome: To be attended immediately to refund me the previous account and for me to pay this month's subscription,

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV DSTV Installer

DSTV Network previously Aerialsats DSTV installers, did a terrible first installation. Drilled right through the top of the wall, middle of Curtains, I called them back and the guy said he took over aerialsats. Came to my home with no tools, used my butter knife to open up points and still didn't know what to do. I asked him to not come back. He insisted that I pay him even tough he didn't do a thing. His bill was R3049.00. We agreed that I pay for labour @R1650.00 even though nothing was done. Unfortunately, my husband paid the full amount. Bryce (Installer) said he would refund me at the end of August 2022. I have been trying to get hold of him and he does not take my calls and has since blocked any calls from me. I will not get the money back but this is to warn people never to use them, Bad workmanship and thieves. I subsequently got another installer who was amazing sorted it out in an hour and charged me R 1300.00. Hence, DSTV Network are thieves!

Desired outcome: Refund please

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV Service

Good Day,

I'm Zanele Sokoyi dstv customer with smartcard no [protected]. On the 23/07/22 I successfully downgraded my package from Family to Access and using the dstv selfservice and was advised that the downgrade would be effective 01/08/22 and an amount of R230 would be deducted on my account.

On the 01/08/22 an amount of R230 was deducted from my bank account as per the downgrade request and was no longer able to view channels on Family package. Today the 29/08/22 received an sms message from dstv indicating that my next debit order is R608. I called the customer service sametime to enquire and to my surprise I was told that I was still on the family package and that I had canceled the downgrade request on the dstv self service on the 01/08/22.

This is not correct and there is no evidence on my chat on the self service that I had sent any message to request same. Due to dstv's incompetency now I am expected to pay for service that I never requested nor enjoyed. When I requested the consultant to send through my complain to the technicians she advise she was unable to do so on her side and suggested that I go to [protected]@dstv.com but didn't see any options for one to lodge complaint.

I have made it clear to the consultant that I refuse to pay for dstv's incompetency and I want this mess to be corrected failing which I will have no option but to cancel my services and escalate matter.

Hope you find the above in order and to hear from you soon.

Regards,

Zanele Sokoyi

Cell no: [protected]

Email: [protected]@gmail.com

Desired outcome: To be billed for the correct package that I had requested.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV Scam!!

Was with dstv access then wanted an upgrade, I did it on whatsapp since multichoice says it's quick end efficient which is not true. I got a message saying if I upgrade to dstv family I will get dstv compact free for the whole month, all I need to do is top up with R89 but I did not get my compact. I rebooted my decoder and still nothing. Had to hustle to call them and I was told "That package doesn't exists on my plan" it's funny because they offered me that and I even went an extra mile to pay that amount but dololo compact..

Nowander people are leaving dstv and installing Vuma internet il join them.

Desired outcome: Please refund me my money for selling me air.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV Call center agent

I have Disney+ as a add on on my dstv account which is active as I checked on the whatsapp self service. I wanted to watch a movie on my Disney+ account but was unable too as I had to subscribe again. I contacted the dstv call center and was told by the agent I should subscribe again which I did but was charged R119 which is incorrect as Disney+ is already on my dstv account, now I'm being double charged for Disney+ and am unable to reverse the R119 charged to my bank account

Desired outcome: Refund of R119

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV Bad serves I received from nonhlanhla a call center agent. And he hole enter dstv

I write this message in regard to the service I encountered with a multi-choice two weeks ago. I'm flabbergasted and perplexed on how multi choices as a big entity would do false advertising on its elderly customers. The account I'm referring to is my mother and her customer number is [protected] and her name is E. Mavuso. last month she was asked to reopen her account and was told to pay R215 for three months from July and she paid R215 plus the reconnection fee of R50. On the 2nd of august, the message through her phone again told her to pay R65 and it was due on the 5th of august. She paid on the 3rd of this month and her account was disconnected on the 8th hence I called customer care on that day and I was disgruntled with the pure service I received from a call center agent name Nonhlanhla. Nonhlanhla talks to her workmates and clients at the same time I gave her the ID number of the clients she was to help. She kept on asking me the ID numbers numerous times and I even told her ill was running out of airtime and she lied to me as a client that she would get back to me when we disconnect. Even now as I write this message I'm still waiting for her call as she promised me as a client. "promising lies to customers". I had to call an hour late and spoke to Anellsa at about 4 in the after the sad part about that day was I felt like a responsible parent as my three-year-old child with her nephews told me there were no cartoons showing on TV.  I was at the car wash at the time of the call my car was inside the wash bay and it was a holiday on the 8th so it was a long holiday. I paid a fool price at the car wash for the pore soup water only coz I got a call and had to rush home. it was not their prerogative to have not finished my car. I had to take care of the children at home by taking them out to burger king not far from home. again whose prerogative is that? mine. on the 10th I had to drive to my mother's house to pick her up at maponya mall about the query she's having with the multi-choice account. Anelisa the call center agency told me it's a preparator amount and that wasn't stipulated in the SMS you sent your client. She told me my mother needed to pay R300 and something for her to be reconnected. At maponya Mall was told something else different and shocking to hear what happens to name a few. bear in mind the first SMS said she can pay R215 for three months from July to September. ovasly she had to pay R50 so that she could be reconnected coz she was not using the account since last year I think.  there is no were in your contract that stipulates clients to pay for a preparatory fee during the actual services "being online". One of your employees told me that I brock the deal when I paid that R65 and have to go back to paying the R300 and something. I fill as a consumer of DSTV. I guess we all know when it comes false marketing to your client means and we know the act of consumer rights.   I've got proof of all the recordings I made and the SMSs received from DSTV and the slips even the one at the DSTV store.

Desired outcome: I fill DSTV should take responsibility for its doing and lack of training of its employees who never ask for help if there are not sure about the product. Doing so cost us dearly when we are being taken from pillar to post

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV Overcharging customers

Ticket Number [protected]

DSTV has charged me 3 times during the month of July without any reason. My account was up to date and they debited an amount of R2870.

I have called 5days straight in a row. The call center agents are extremely unprofessional. They talk to me plus their friends at the same time. Some of them can barely speak English and they have promised to call back on 5 different occasions but never did. Their Team Leader seems to be in hiding because he is never available.

It is clear that these call center agents do not have a clue of what they are doing.

Multichoice is now sitting with my money which I cannot get back.

It is the worst service short of a Government department.

Desired outcome: I want my money back. This feels like theft to me
