MultiChoice Africa / DSTV accredited dstv installers

I found an accredited DSTV installer company on the internet, the guy (company owner) I phoned is Walter. I asked for his service he quickly rendered, but now there wasn't proper installation, I realised this a week after. I phoned him to come and fix the problem but he failed to avail himself. So now how do you guys intervene since well this guy was accredited by you? I even sent him a video of how bad the signal is but that didn't help either. Does this mean I'll have to hire someone and pay AGAIN? All that R750 went down the drain for nothing?

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV overcharge and unauthorized debit

I am highly disgusted in the unauthorized debit order which was taken off my bank account. I personally went to your head office and sat with Metsing Selema for four hours to rectify my account and made a payment with him at your head office. He assured me that all is up to date and on the 25-09-2017 the payments would go back to normal at R949.00 for my DPP account. Now on the 27-09-2017 they ran an unauthorized debit order for over R2700. Where and how is the possible. Hence all the calls I have made to Metsing and emails he does not respond. I am disgusted in the service from Management and accounts departments. I see that they just don’t care and don’t worry and employ complete and utter imbeciles who have no idea on how to do the job that they have been appointed to do. I will truly tell everyone I know around the globe of how useless and rubbish DSTV - Multichoice is!

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV pay pay pay - dstv motto

Removed ExtraView (part of service). As I pay R85 per month additional for ExtraView (DSTV email and transaction history) I thought my monthly fee will reduce.

Ask for confirmation of the lower fee. Not a chance - DSTV phoned me saying our motto is Pay Pay Pay, and no matter what reduction you make to your service, you WILL keep on paying the original higher amount!

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV upgrading to premium

Three weeks ago my husband down graded our dstv to compact and now since Monday I have been trying to upgrade us back to premium and dstv is not able to do it for some reason, they are using our contract that expired and we canceled months ago as the excuse that doesnt make sense as there was no issue down grading us three weeks ago but now you cant upgrade us again, I phoned in Monday and every single day after that and twice today as we would like our premium to be activated before the weekend but no joy.
We are not happy and is now even more motivated to cancel dstv in total and move over to live streaming like most people are doing now.
My reference number is 6360459-i95

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV incorrect billing, pathetic service and disconnection

Attempted to connect in Jan 2016 and was unsuccessful as there was no satellite dish for that particular unit. Connected in November 2016 in another apartment and multichoice claims I owe them for connecting in Jan 2016. They claim that they sent signal to the unit and I need to prove to them that I was not connected for the period they claim I was.

And gave me papers to fill in.So got in car and did everything including go and the new owner. Then the new owner told the lady that she wasn't sure if the DSTV are on her name or her husband's name she replied"Don't worry it doesn't make a difference"
So we wanted to activate an decoder with the explora for extra view and the lady said that we have to have the extra view decoder also with.My Question to her was the follow"does the new owner have to come back again when bringing the other decoder she said no just bring the decoder. So the 3rd time I went back with the decoder the lady next to the lady who was helping me told me to go to the lady and I did that. She asked where's the new owner and while i wanted to a answer her Question she said don't worry cause all the paper's are filled in wrong and she teard everything up infront of me.So then i asked why did she threw mine up she replied "WE KNOW WHAT WE DO YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT WE ARE DOING" and i said to her please just explain to me WHY are my papers wrong she pushed my decoders in my hands. MultiChoice Africa / DSTV account

Hi Ihave phone the call center in cape town on numerous occasions as I picjed up there was some irregularities on my account. In the beginning of August the account went from a staff account to a residential account nd the debt order normally went off on the 22nd of each month with this I my account was suspended and I had to call numerous times to connect my account. This each time I called the operator they would add nd remove packages and extra view. Now I have an account balance of R1700 which I know was wrong as my premium account work out to R950 a month nd I understood that I had to pay for the debit orders date change which I was told would come to R1200 for the month of September and not an extra R500. I want to know what the R500 extra was for and would like to have that funds be transferred back into my account

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV account

Hi there,

I called the Multichoice call centre this afternoon and requested that my extraview decoder be delinked and that the particular decoder be migrated to stand alone. I was told this was done even when I complained that it still displayed extraview error message, was asked to switch off the decoder which I did to no avail, the lady said it would come back alright after scanning and hung up.

After the system had scanned it still had the same error message so I used my airtime to call again, was told some settings were not sent, after the settings were sent I could only view channels 100 and 180. Again I called and was taken through another process which like previous processes yielded no results, my suspicions are that this account is not linked yet my account will be debited in the morning and no one from Multichoice will call to find out if your problem was resolved? It becomes your baby yet they are the service/diservice providers. This Is what monopoly does to businesses they simply don't care, will the government do something about this damn company please?

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV dstv is the worst!!

I couldn’t be more disgusted in DSTV! I cancelled my account back in Aug 2015. Earlier this year, I get a phone call out of the blue saying I have been handed over because I still owe DSTV money. I was totally shocked! I haven’t been with them since 2015? And Jan 2017, we did a change of ownership, which DSTV doesn’t allow if there is outstanding money. So why on earth after all this time, will they say I still owe them money?! I can only think it is because the company is in serious financial trouble. Needless to say, after countless emails back and forth, I still haven’t received any clear answers. Because each and every email I send, someone else answers and NEVER does my questions get answered.
I’m sure I’m not the only person DSTV is harassing like this. I won’t stand for this, I’m sorry!

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV accounts

I have had my DSTV account (R899 pricelock) since June 2016, and since then I have had endless problems. I contact DSTV, every single month and sometimes even more than once about my debit order either not going through at all or a ridiculous amount going through? It's now now 15 months later and the issue still hasn't been resolved. I have been to the DSTV office in Randburg but this never helped either? I have spoken to a "DPP line manager" who hasn't bothered getting back to me with regard to my mess up of an account- due to someone's lack of knowledge at DSTV. I have requested a cancellation figure so that I can pay it and cancel my whole package and cannot get that either (yes, my account is that much of a mess). I have now exhausted all my options in trying to sort this out. Every month end I get so angry because it's my time, my petrol money, my airtime, my bank charges and yet no one at DSTV actually cares, obviously customer satisfaction doesn't matter and will never matter!

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV unethical behaviour

My complain is on the televised soccer teams. I am using a compact deal rather than a premium deal, so I sometimes feel like paying a compact is useless since the strong teams are that are playing are not televised, I feel like they are forcing us to pay the premium deal forgetting that not everyone can afford the expense of the premium deal. Example is a match that played on 27/09/2017, the televised match in SS3 was Manchester United vs Spartak Moscow which was a very weak game instead of Chelsea vs Athletico Madrid which deserved to be televised for compact users. This occurs on multiple occasions so I am pleading with them to be ethical cause compact is expensive as well even though it is below the premium bill but it is still worth their consideration.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV incompetence - double debiting - priclock

To whom it may concern

Account no: [protected]

I had a pricelock deal with Dstv for the Explora 1 for 24 month which concluded at the end of Feb 2017.
In August I applied for a new Pricelock deal for the Explora 2. When I applied for the new pricelock deal, the consultant I spoke to picked up that the previous pricelock deal was not Cancelled on their side. But she sent an escalation to the Pricelock team to cancel It.

I followed up on this on numerous occasions and was assured that it has now been resolved. However on the 26-09-2017 I followed up with them again to check how much will be debited from my account, for budgeting purposes. I was then advised that there are 2 pricelock plans on my profile and the Magtape has been sent out to collect on both.

I then advised the consultant that this is incorrect as the other one was cancelled as it concluded in Feb already, and that the cancellation was confirmed. She again escalated it to their Pricelock dept, and she said they will contact me regarding the refund.

On the 28-09-2017, my account however was in fact double debited - an amount of R1834 was debited on my account, and in following this up with Multichoice, I was again advised that i was debited for 2 Pricelock plans, the new one for R1309 +R34 (box office) and on the "OLD" pricelock plan an amount of R489. I find this incompetence Highly unacceptable, as this issue was identified a long time ago, and should have been resolved before its now costing me money.

And to add insult to injury, since this query has been escalated, I have still not received any feedback from the Pricelock dept. I really need this query to be resolved ASAP

I have also lodged a complaint on HelloPeter, so I would appreciate that you resolve this as a matter of utmost urgency, as I do NOT accept that now have to bear the brunt for your staffs incompetence

Regards

Estelle Anderson

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV bias towards manchester united champions league coverage

I am deeply saddened with the Manchester United fans working for DSTV who have subjected all soccer loving dstv viewers to only Manchester United Champions league coverage!

Maybe you have forgotten that the Uefa champions is a competition comprising of heavyweight European champions: real madrid, bayern and barcelona, hence its only fair that dstv gives fair coverage of these matches on Supersport 3 as well. How on earth does Dstv make the United v Anderletch or spart moscow be the featured match yet they are big games pitting Barca v Juve? Is it fair that you will only show the Man United as the featured match on Supersport 3 throughout the group stages. While their fanbase is huge, dstv should not lose sight of the size and stature of real madrid and barcelona.

I pray that common sense will prevail and will start to ensure a fair coverage of other teams. I m sure you do not need reminding that dstv subscribers are not only man united fans. Would it hurt for dstv to rotate games on Supersport 3?

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV dstv incompetence

I officially closed my DSTV account over 2 years ago, made my final payment later then i wanted because of a mistake on your side. Now i am being pestered by non existent arrears weekly, regardless of me closing the account due to utter negligence on your side.

One further issue i have is that from the very start of my utilizing of your services, i was assured that because i had made only cash payments, my DSTV would not run if payment was not made, as it is a month to month service. So what DSTV has gone and done is officially overrun that service without my knowledge, even after i had un-linked my smartcard & removed my decoder and now i am expected to pay for negligence on their behalf.

The onus was on me and if not for calling i would not have known the disconnection time and payment needed to close the account. Hence the reason for me directly calling your offices and discussing the disconnection over the phone. I was then told at that time that i could not close the account immediately that month and was required to pay for the next month after one of your assistants told me " Account needs to be cancelled a month before and payed a month in advance before termination can continue", which i proceeded to do as per advisement.

DSTV has now gone a further month over the requested termination "All this in 2015", without my knowledge or use and now requires me to pay due to a monumental error on your side.

This is why i left DSTV...Bad service, no help, over paying and under-delivering.
