MultiChoice Africa / DSTV condom adverts

this evening on Comedy Central as every night on Comedy Central lately, an advert for condoms was aired! I find this disgusting and inappropriate to air at 7:30pm when children are still awake and haven't gone to bed yet! It is not usual for children to still be awake at 7:30pm. I understand that the condom company is probably paying you a lot of money to air their advert but at the expense of children's innocence everywhere? This is unacceptable and then we wonder what's wrong with the children of today! I await a response.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV installation of my dstv

Hi. I bought a decoder at knysna electronics in the western cape on the 1st of february 2017. Its a R599 special. After waiting 3 weeks for installation, the technicions finally arrived and tells my they cant install my dstv at all because there was no place to put the dish up at all and i had to get rid of some trees that was in the way. After i made a plan with the trees, i phoned again in the 4th week, to only find out the place closed down. So i went to touch tronic in knysna to ask if they couldbadsist me, cause i was already fed up by then. They said they took everything of knysna electronics over. And has got alot of work on them now wich i understand. Ive been phoneing almost 3 weeks now, to query about my installation, and each time they say that they are waiting forr dishes and it will arrive the next day. I have been waiting almost 2 months just for my dstv to get installed and i am really get irritated now. Please can someone assist me ? Feels like i wasted my money on something thats not happening, ive never waited so long for dstv to be installed.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV condom advert at 19:30 in the evening

Please could I request that the durex condom adverts be aired at a later time after young kids have gone to bed and not at 19:30 in the evening when young, innocent ears may be in the room. My husband had the t.v on discovery channel last night and was watching a documentary about sharks when the said advert aired and my 6 year old daughter was in the room. I quickly had to change the channel. So please be more careful when selecting the time these adverts will air.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV disconnection/bad service/incompetence

Good day,

I have two smartens:
[protected] - Currently in the explora
[protected] - Extraview

However, the notification of disconnection is on [protected].

Kindly explain how do you link me with the third smartened number and why have you not rectified this, since it's been running for 23months and 10days at the time when you disconnected this services on Friday 10March2017, without informing of your intentions.

How is it that one account has caused so much confusion, to the point where you are unable to see 1April2015 to 10March2017 is 23m10days (twenty three months and ten days).

Meaning, if the contract started 1April2015 it will only be 24months at the end of March2017. You in your action to disconnect me, has thought me to do without DSTV for a entire weekend with so much sports activities of which I'm a great fan of.

My issues have been escalated, since Friday, yet your call centre in Sandburg could not help, nor the Maponya Mall branch.

I'm utterly disappointed.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV price lock

Dear Sir/Madam,

Please assist me with a new price lock deal. I am currently on a price lock of 799.00 that expires on 15 March 2017 and would like to go on another price plan. I know you talk about legislation and all that (NCR) but sir/madam, I am currently paying 799.00 and the fee will go up in April 2017 to about 899.00 – which is a 100.00 increase and the price lock deal for me is the same amount (899.00), so I can’t understand why can’t I just be put on a price plan like I requested, because the difference would be 100.00 of which I can afford. Sir/Madam please re – consider my application and put me on a price plan from April 2017 please.

Hoping this request will receive your most favourable consideration.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV dstv poor service

On 12 March 2017 during screening of Strictly come dancing on channel 174, the second part of the programme was skipped and the next programme started showing.
This is so disrupting; the people in the backroom of Multichoice need to be disciplined for not doing their job properly. We are paying for the service that costs a lot!
It is also soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo annoying to have to write so much when brevity of words should be sufficient.

The past few months we have been fed movies that are more suitable to an 11 year old. Always a little puppy / horse / dog / other animal that either talks or brings man and woman together or is lost or is hurt and they call them romcom.
Whoever is the buyer for DSTV needs to wake up. Even if you like those movies, we don't have to be subjected to endless such movies. The same movies also roll over endlessly. Please spend money on proper tv content.
We pay a lot of money for little entertainment.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV channels flipping while we watch

This morning, 12 March 2017 between 11:30 and 12:00, Teen Titans was showing on channel 301.
Suddenly channels starting flipping. WHY?
Hotel Impossible (Travel Channel) showed. WHY?
Later on it stabilised and channel 301 resumed.
Why did this happen?
This is not an isolated incident and has happened before. For nearly R1000.00 p/m that we pay we should not be experiencing this.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV marketing enquiry

Good day

Today I escorted my friend to a dstv advert casting at Graycasting. I was highly disgusted by how the men that were managing the the auditions were so disrespectful towards the females. There was no sense of respect and they chose to embarrass girls infront of many people. I'm not sure if this was due to high stress. But it sure doesn't represent the brand well. Please see that you investigate this matter.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV Advert

The advert being plighted on DSTV about the Explora, where the friends are playing charades and the lady does not know any of the answers. I feel that this is a form of playground bullying. Can the message of not missing out be delivered another way. I feel empathy for this poor woman and it takes me back to the playground. There is enough of bullying in society and why should we see it on our screens as well. She is clearly uncomfortable and this does not motivate me to ever get an explore. If I do it would remind me that I too have been bullyied into getting one.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV poor content & endless repeats

This is more of a general observation:
The content provided by MultiChoice Africa / DSTV on the "premium" package is not worth the money it costs.
I'm an expat from SA working in Lagos Nigeria and my company covers the cost of the DSTV subscription, otherwise I would have un-subscribed long ago, as I did with my subscription in SA.
Endless repeats, branded and advertised as "new and exclusive" - who are they trying to fool?
Rubbish advertisements, mostly advertising their own products - If I had no subscription I would not see those adverts. Since I am subscribed already there is no need to bombard me with pointless adverts about something I obviously already have. Rather pointless - duh!
I suspect that, despite their expensive subscription rates, they are still trying to supplement/boost their earnings with external advertisers, which seem to become fewer and fewer. Over and above that they don't seem to have enough actual content to fill a channel without the constant, lengthy ad-breaks and endless repeats.
Not worth it! At the next renewal/payment date I won't be renewing. There are feasible (and cheaper) alternatives out there.

Totally agree with the complaint. And these old movies playing over and over and over and over and over and over. I am so sick of seeing the same movies. Also, why have hour long programmes on Sundays. At least if it was 30 minutes max we might see something we haven't seen.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV sports

I am very disappointed because you show a wide variety of sports on your supersport channels but you stopped showing nba basketball since the beginning of 2016/2017 season and it very inconveniencing because I am no longer able to watch full basketball matches but have to settle for highlights on the internet and I think you should bring back nba to supersport because I really dont want to miss out on full playoff action which is starting next month.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV all channels/movies

Good day

I am very disappointed that the movie channels 110, 111 and 112 repeat the same old movies over and over. As a dstv compact package payer could you guys atleast improve in the movies or add a extra channel like 101 or 103 cause the fees will increase by first of April...actually its not only the movie channels ALL SHOWS ARE OLD AND REPEATED OVER AND OVER so why the increase if there is no change in old shows and repeats

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV debit orders

Since January 2017 I have been having endless problems with Dstv.
I have taken the price lock package and was assured that it would only cost R539, 00 per month.

They did however inform me that the first month there would be an extra charge which I understood.

January came and the debit order was R941, 00, i immediately reported this and was informed that someone would contact me back. I went to reverse the amount because I felt they were in breach of contract.

February came no one had yet called me and the amount has was R1430, 00 I again reversed this amount and called the offices. No one has yet gotten back to me. I have even checked that they have the correct contact details.

I am extremely upset and now i will sit with a huge bill because of there incompetence.

I have now blocked them from my Bank Account because they do not stick to there word.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV customer service

To whom it may concern.

I'm january 2017 I enquired about the cost of dstv extra. When decided to watch mnet tonight it indicated my package had been lowered from premium. Non the less when I made payment it was strange the amount was r457 yet I did not question it because I did not change my package. When I called in the cape town call centre advised me I need to pay r300 before my package gets changed. When I spoke to a team leader he advised no compensation however he asked how I would like to be compensated which makes no sense. Non the less I refuse to pay extra as it was not my error and I hope that dstv changes the call centre staff
