I bought a brand new Lenovo laptop on TakeAlot in February 2023. In January/ February 2024 I started experiencing severe problems with the operating system and sent the laptop back BEFORE the 1 year warranty expired. I sent the laptop back on 16 February 2024. OMNI TECHNICAL SOLUTIONS received the laptop and eventually "fixed" the OS. They sent it back to me. During that time, the warranty expired. When I got the laptop back in March, I put it on, and the ram completely burnt out. With a huge struggle to get TakeAlot to log another return on my behalf because you can only log a return once and the warranty expired, they eventually scheduled a pick up. It took another 20 days to get the laptop back. When I got it back on the 08th of April, it was still burnt out/broken and in the same state as it was when I sent it to them the second time.
They refuse to refund me, they say that the warranty does not apply to burnt out rams. I had to log 2 returns, got no feedback both times and had to call and send numerous emails just to find out what the outcome was. After calling numerous times, one lady from Takelot eventually received feedback where the supplier does not want to refund me due to the ram issue. But there was nothing wrong with the laptop except the OS (operating system) and after they "repaired" that issue, it just randomly burns out the very first day I get it back from the 1st return? So they worked on the laptop, and thereafter, the ram burnt out, and they refuse to refund/recredit or replace the device.
As a third year student, it has been extremely difficult to function without a laptop, and I told them this, and they ensured me a speedy process.
I have sent numerous emails again today on the 09th April and once again there is just said that they will keep me updated after contacting the supplier but thereafter communications end until I call again and again like numerous times before.
