Ordered a PS4 game which has a release date of 26 October 2018 (Order No: [protected]). Order was placed on the 23rd.
Shipping to JHB Warehouse happened on 25th of October, but delivery will only happen on the 29th of October.
The whole point of ordering from Takealot is so delivery can happen on the release date, not 3 days later.
When contacting Takealot, I get told that delivery doesn't happen on Weekends, but today, the 26th, the day of release is a Friday and not a weekend.
Then I get informed that the shipping only happened on the 25th, which still doesn't explain why delivery didn't happen today.
After all this explanation I am still not told why it wasn't delivered today.
When I ask if I can have the order cancelled, this will also only be able to be done on Monday.
So, not only do I not have the product I paid for, the same product I could have walked into multiple other shops and bought on the 26th or the weekend, but I am also being held ransom with the money I paid for it.
Previously, Takealot was a helpful site with delivery of newly released games being done on the release date, but since this is not the case, i don't see the point of using this site beyond the completion of this order.

we ordered the Parrot 16mm Magnet Map Pins - Black (Pack of 25) from Take a lot order number [protected]. Delivered to us on the 22 October and ordered on the 10 October
as per your exact description this comes in a pack of 25 but the box only had 21?
this is not on if you advertise that this is a pack of 25. that is 16% that was NOT included as promised and that is not on.
i would like the remainder that is advertised that is missing in the box.
please advise what other details you require.

2018-07-12 Bought item
[protected] Laptop stopped charging and switched off when not plugged in.
2018-10-10 I logged a return (RRN-f61e-3f06) in morning and after speaking with Dell, I emailed Takealot to cancel return as I was speaking to Dell to get feedback regarding replacement. An agent replied and confirmed the cancellation of the return.
I phoned Dell who did a 1 hour assessment on my laptop and confirmed that the battery id defective and the unit would need to be replaced.
2018-10-11 Takealot team arrived to collect laptop. Told him that I cancelled the return and he wasn't notified regarding this.
2018-10-12 Received Credit Note from Dell for Takealot to replace laptop.
Emailed Takealot to open new return as unable to do so online, as the previous return was still open. Spoke to Bheki, sent the letter Credit Note from Dell to her. She received it and promised to get back to me. Never heard from her regarding the letter again.
Received an email from Ebrahim: "Once the parcel is received at the warehouse, it will undergo evaluation, afterwhich a replacement order will be created."
Ebrahim: "I can assure you that a replacement order will be created as soon as possible once the return is received at the warehouse."
Collection of laptop scheduled for 2018-10-15 (RRN-f665-343f)
2018-10-15 Received a sms at 10:00 that stated that they tried to collect my laptop but couldn't? . I emailed Takealot, no response. Received a phone call from Takealot in afternoon asking me if I still want to return my laptop. Told me the driver was at the site but couldn't pick item up. But he never tried to contact me.
Return was again scheduled for the 2018-10-16. I was promised that I will definitely get a new laptop on 2018-10-19 or 2018-10-22.
I received another phone call from Takealot 5 min later asking me the same questions the previous agent asked.
2018-10-16 Laptop picked up at around 12:00
2018-10-17 No record of return on the system. Is says ‘return cancelled'. Emailed Takealot who then created a new reference number.
2018-10-17 At 12:22 received and email from Talitah Xhotyeni:
"A new return was created for your item. This is your reference number : RRN-f665-343f"
Received email from Success Rhangani 12:13: "We have received and evaluated your returned item. We regret to inform you, however, that we cannot proceed with your request to return this item due to the following reason(s):"Dell have requested that Takealot should not facilitate their returns .We request you to please contact Dell at [protected] as they will assist you regarding the faulty item."
We will arrange for this item to be returned to you."
At 12:22 I sent the credit letter from Dell again and asked them not to send the laptop back. No response.
I phoned Takealot 12:24 and spoke to Renika Benjamin who I then again sent the Dell credit letter to. She tells me she will get back to me.
At 13:04 from Renika Benjamin: "As per our telephonic conversation, there was a miscommunication between our returns department and the supplier with regards to how your return will be evaluated. I will be forwarding this to the relevant department and once I have received feedback from them I will revert back to you."
I replied asking for feedback ASAP as I am left without my work laptop.
2018-10-17 Received an email from Xavier Mouton 14:14: "We will forward your information to the relevant department, once they provide feedback we will revert that information back to you."
2018-10-19 I haven't received feedback after being promised by Renika Benjamin and Xavier Mouton and emailed Takealot again at 07:53 for feedback regarding my laptop. No response.
At around 09:00 my old laptop was returned to me without any feedback or communication.
I phoned Takealot again, and had to explain everything in detail to another agent. He told me they only received the credit note 2018-10-18 and they didn't know where my laptop was. He promised me he will speak to his manager regarding the ‘mess' and phone me back ASAP.
I never received a phone call or an email, only a sms and an email at 12:24 stating my laptop will be collected on 2018-10-22 between 13:00 and 17:00. (RRN-ea08-8b15)
At 19:19 I received an email from Luyolo Sepalane: "Will you kindly confirm whether you have received your parcel."
I asked to confirm what parcel he is referring to.
2018-10-20 at 01:40 from Shulami Godlo: "The parcel being referred to is your laptop from return number RRN-ea08-8b15. Our courier has informed us that this has now been delivered to you. Can you please confirm that you have indeed received?"
I emailed at 02:35 to ask for feedback as I have received no information regarding the replacement of my laptop.
I received an email from Marvin Moses at 05:20"We will be able to create a replacement for you once we have received your defective laptop at our warehouse."
2018-10-22 I emailed Takealot for feedback regarding the replacement of my laptop. I received a response from Austin Lategan: "Kindly note that I will need to follow up with our DC and as soon as I receive feedback I will contact you right away."
This is the standard response I received from ALL agents: "I have sent this to the relevant department. Once I get feedback, I will revert back to you."
At 16:53 Laptop has still not been collected. I phoned the delivery team.
No feedback received.
I have spoken to more than 11 agents from Takealot.
I have sent through my Dell credit note to Takealot 4 times.
I have sent more than 40 emails to Takealot regarding this topic.

I ordered an Asus laptop ( order Number [protected] ), in January 2018. It worked perfectly until around a month after having it, it would randomly switch off. Even picking it up would make it switch off. I was able to return it, thinking it was one bad laptop from a batch.
I returned this laptop, I requested the same laptop be given to me as I was happy with the first laptop, apart from breaking. I was then told the laptop was out of stock, that whey credited my account or I could order a new laptop over email. Further research showed my credited amount would not give me the same equivalent specs of laptop I originally got. Takealot refused to give me an equivalent laptop based of the specs of my first one.
3 days later (proof of documents uplaoded) on the 19th of Feb 2018, I went online by chance and the laptop I originally ordered was in stock, even though I was told it was not. So I got a replacement laptop by doing the job of the customer care person online.
I received my new laptop make and model the same ( order number [protected]) in February 2018 it worked up until may 2018. It also experienced the same faults as the previous laptop I had, I accidentally kicked my desk and the laptop turned off.
I logged a return again, to have the process delayed due to not giving back accessories. There were no accessories to begin with, all I got was a laptop and a charger, which I returned. Got my refund and bought a laptop else where.
About the 12th of October I ordered a fitbit ( Order #[protected] ), the address is a business and has no street number, I have had countless other orders delivered here. For some reason Takealot printed the address wrong and sent my order to the wrong depot. By order was delayed by other 5 days due to the weekend. It was originally due on the 18th and now is due on the 22nd of October.
I even tried to organize to pick it up myself, but the email customer care line was no help, telling me to wait.
Service and product control of takealot is terrible, by chance I got all the bad service and product control.
No discounts, even though I keep getting bad service, due to takealot being a money grabbing corporation.

I made the order for the Chromecast 4k (Paid R1, 549.00) 6 days ago and was told that It would be delivered on the 22nd October.
I received an email today from Takealot that the product is no longer available from the supplier (PC Mart) to then go 2 minutes later and check online to say that same device is available but that is now more expensive (R1, 750.00) and the supplier is someone else! (Nantec - Fulfilled by Takealot)
This is absolutely unacceptable and this service is appalling. COMPLETE FALSE ADVERTISING

I have a similar issue. Have you had any luck? I also have been reading up on several of the same fraudulent situation from other customers and it seems Takealot are just getting away with it? If they were following the Consumer law rules like Amazon does we would not have been sitting in this boat. I have been done in with R4000
damaged product
I ordered some books via takealot. Besides taking nearly a month to arrive the one book arrived completely damaged. It appeared as if it was kicked around. This was a present I bought for my wife as an anniversary gift and now I can't even give it to her. The worst is the box was not damaged so someone actually packed a damaged product into the box and dispatched it. I am not sure who they think a person are to accept a damaged product. I am astounded and completely disgusted. I have contacted them as well, but they don't seem to care enough to pick up the phone even.

I have made a lawful return of my printer. It was as dead as a rock would not switch on. It was returned to the manufacturer for repairs. I received it back today, still not working the same problem. I checked all my fittings and found no problems. The product was send with new ink cartridges but was returned with no cartridges. While tracking the new request to return, I saw it was now out of the six months return policy.
I think this is not fair.
I insist on a replacement or my money back.

time frame
#[protected] - This order was paid for on the 9th of October and expected delivery was originally Monday the 15th of October . I Received a mail yesterday to indicate it will be delayed by one day, which was fine.
#[protected] - However was paid for on the 03rd of October and original expected delivery date was the 18th of October. I got an email stating that it will be delayed until the 26th of October, which is unacceptable as this is a gift for someone from overseas and will be long gone by then.
Surely, from the beginning a better indication should have been given with regard to what date it would be delivered.
I have dealt with take a lot a few times and this is the first time I have this experience and it has broken my loyalty to buy something soon again or even promote it to my friends and family again.

manhandles books received
This is the first time that I have ordered school books from Takealot. Normally I order them from Caxton and I will do so again in future.
BOOKS SHOULD BE HANDLED GENTLY AND WITH CARE AND ONLY WITH CLEAN HANDS! I have been teaching my children this since they were old enough to look at books.
The books that I received from Takealot were dog-eared and dirty. Obviously the pickers/ packers had not washed their hands at any stage during the day before they handled the books. I will remember not to order books from Takealot in future.
Please teach your pickers/ packers that books should be handled with respect!

I called customer care at 8:25am to query about a voucher code that was not being accepted. I had a consultant Shannon Harris advise me that she will call me back no later than 10am as i was wanted to purchase items. i had not received a call from her...i had to call back and and explain myself all over again. the consultant advised that unfortunatly i will only have feedback, possible feeback by close of business. these were Bday gifts that i wanted to purchase and now i can't because of the bad service and delay... this is really terrible service!
fnb card delivery and customer service
I scheduled a delivery for today with FNB, I missed the call from takealot, they gave me a number to phone back on, I have called this number at least 5 times each time having to wait for 15-20 mins, with no one picking up. Poor poor customer service, wasted so much airtime waiting n waiting. In the past week u phoned me once and never again, why is that ? No call back or follow ups. What's the point scheduling a delivery for a certain day an specific time when you can not follow through. I'm very unhappy about all of this. I had to call the actual take a lot number to get through to someone n they answered the call in less then a minute.

I have ordered items on takealot that was supposed to be delevired on the 4th of October. Its now 18h25 on the 8th of October and this has still not arrived. Whats the point of bragging about great customor care if you cannot deliver.
Please do not make excuses in saying its the courier fault as I paid takealot and did business with takealot and not the courier.
Next time I would rather drive the few hundred kilometers to buy what I need in stead of doing an TAKEALOT order.

damaged packaging and damaged product
today, at 12.40 the courier service arrived with my delivery. Both boxes were damaged. The table tennis table was hardly packaged as the box was opened and also damaged.
The table tennis table is damaged on all corners. I have sent it back with the courier company and hope that Take a Lot will resolve the issue very soon.
Very upset about this. The courier service should not even have dispatched it in this condition.

About three weeks ago I bought myself such a dish rack. I was very impressed and bought one for my friend as a gift. Her rack was delivered without the necessary bolts and screws and plastic cups/props to assemble the rack properly. Mine was delivered with a plastic bag containing the necessary equipment.
I would like to receive the missing bolts and whatever is needed to assemble this very useful dish rack.
The product mentions above is the second one I have ordered . I bought this for my friend because I was so impressed by it. On Wednesday the 3rd of october it was delivered at 21 Tambotie street in Bothaville.

I am completely angry about the way this purchase has been dealt with. I purchased a sports watch on a Thursday, I cancelled the following day, as per the tracking the order hadn't even been processed yet, I had to wait for the process which I understand, the process proceeded to take up until Monday which was the expected delivery date which never happened as the order was already cancelled before despatch.
I cancelled via email as well as telephonically requesting a refund on the Friday, which is day after purchase.
The following week Thursday I received an email stating that the product had been received back at the warehouse, which it never left in the first place... I also received feedback stating that I have been given a takealot credit for R2100!That is completely unacceptable, who gives TAKEALOT the right to keep my money...That is unacceptable service, this has delayed the whole process now and I will have to wait another week before I am refunded on my credit card as this now has to be processed by fiancé department.I am beyond livid, I will not ever purchase anything again, R2100 is allot of money. Who the hell gives anyone the right to make a decision like that without consulting me first!After all, I did instruct them to refund my card when I cancelled the following day, what bad service...

I have bought 17 ebooks over time via Takealot. After years of digital upgrade, technology demand, upgrades - I tried to access my ebooks again to no avail. I have contacted Takealot, which took over 3 weeks to eventually inform me that my 'tokens' for my ebooks expired. That is due to either maximum amount of device used for ebooks, or the publisher not being in existence anymore etc. The whole process of purchasing an ebook is however no user friendly or in sync with the fast pace of technology in 2018. As a IT professional I know the problem is with Adobe digital Editions, which you need to download and register, as well as the Takealot e-reader app. Takealot however refuse to reply to this issue, after mentioning it. My problem is that through time, I replace/upgrade devices every second year. With regard to Adobe Digital Editions - my account have been disabled and had to go through this process from the beginning and you must authorize device on Adobe as well.
My complaint is that Takealot does not provide you with a solution, whether technical or customer service problem ON items that I paid for. These 17 ebooks is MY property as I legally paid for it, to be able to read it even 10 years after purchase. Many of these ebooks are reference or study guides - how can Takealot penalise me on something I personally paid for, for my own use. How can a token expire?
One of the feeble solutions Takealot have given me is I should have kept a downloadable copy of the ebook. That is however not the problem - as up to today i can download the ebook but as soon as you want to read it in their application - it tells you the token have expired. That is now after you books show as "Available" in your digital library.
I just want my books in a readable format - or Takealot must take ownership and sort their processes out and refund me so I can go buy these books at a reputable vendor.

I requested and paid for guarenteed Sunday delivery, I called thrice to ensure that delivery will take place on Sunday. I called at 17:00 and was told that the driver did not come around to me and would be there by seven. At half past six when I checked the takealot site it says that at four o clock the driver was there but no one came to the door. I checked the camera footage and there was no one there from four until now which is quarter to seven. I was not called as well. This is the third time this has happened. Takealot sucks, I will not be ordering a thing from them again. I am so glad I recorded the call to prove that they said the driver was not there before five.

We placed on order for 45 items to be part of a corporate gift at the beginning of September. Yesterday I received 12 of the items, and the remaining 33 won't be delivered as there is no stock. Apparently when the order was placed, the system "incorrectly" displayed the amount of stock available. What, pray tell, should I say to the 33 non-recipients? This is the second consecutive order that has resulted in frustration, poor service, and lack of delivery - the previous order being a birthday gift that went wrong. Crediting my account is not a solution. Refunding me is not a solution. Whilst I appreciate the empathic responses from the agents I spoke to, your nice words are not a solution.
I am complaining about a portable dvd player order [protected]
We have ordered a portable dvd player for my daughter's birthday that was on 1st September 2018. Delivery was perfect. My problem is the following:
- Battery only last about 20 min so it must stau pulged in during a movie which makes watching difficult.
- The remote control has never worked form day one.
- And now it stoped reading the disc. I paid a lot of money for something I cannot use

I have never experienced service as shocking as takealots in my life. Ordered a product and paid on the same day. Then got a notification that it would be with me no later then 5pm on on a Tuesday. Then the Tuesday came and the Tuesday went. I tried phoning them and no answer and this went on for a while. Then I emailed them and they responded with 'we cant find your order'. How does a company that bases their entire existance on delivering products to customers on time, 'LOSE IT'. They then went about stating it will be there the next day before 5pm. Obviously I didnt have much faith in them. Then the Wednesday came and the Wednesday went. I then got a call at 19:32pm, "HI SIR, WHERE ARE YOU. WE WAITING AT YOUR WORK PLACE ADDRESS. " and thats where I completely lost it. My work place closes at 6pm, delivery was stated before 5pm. At that point I didnt care who the person was. And I lost my cool. But in the other hand the courier guy from FAST 'N FURIOUS agreed 100% with me that takealot is the big problem and that it has been happening to alot of people. Then on the Thursday I get a notification that it has been delayed.
Takealot needs to get their S#!T straight and their higher management like Sam Joynt, who is the head of customer service and experience need to do something about this.
Takealot is just another 'we have your money already, so therefore we dont give a S#!T.' Type of company.
And that is why I really don't agree with this practice of having to pay for something before you get it. It leaves the consumer in too vulnerable a position. In South Africa in particular where service just about everywhere is just [censored], we really need to change this practice otherwise these are the kinds of things that will just keep happening. Had you not paid already then you could simply say, "since your service is such [censored], keep your rubbish, I will shop elsewhere!"
