Refund from Takealot : Disgusting Experience
Takealot did not honour their part of the deal I paid for extra delivery the next day my order was not delivered no word received from Takealot..
When order was cancelled my refund was R100 short.
I have been following them for the short amount no courtesy to respond at all

I ordered a set of blinds for my window.
When I opened the product it was very clearly damaged and so I requested a replacement that was a week and half ago. they said the replacement would of been here yesterday but nothing has arrived, so I logged onto my takealot account and according to them the ordered was cancelled but there was no refund. this is ridiculous and they need to do better!

Lies about delivery details
On Saturday, 28 August 2021 I ordered and paid R1 199 for Welding machine from Takealot order number [protected]. The delivery details stated that the item will be delivered on Tuesday, 7 September 2021. On Friday, 3 September 2021 I received a message stating that my order is out for delivery and should be delivered before 5pm. Later on, I received another message stating that my order has been lost in transit so they will find a replacement and reschedule delivery.
After realizing that there has been no communication from Takealot. about my order, I decided to call them on Wednesday 15 September 2021, as a reminder that I'm still waiting for my order. After the call they assured me that they will process the delivery of my order and told me that my order will be delivered on Monday 20 September 2021 before 5pm. On the day of the rescheduled delivery I got a call from +27 [protected](Takealot) at 19:03 the person on the other side of the call didn't speak and the call was ended.
I tried to track my delivery again on the Takealot. app and it showed that my order was delivered and signed by me at 19:03. According to my knowledge nothing was delivered to me so I don't know wether to label this as a scam or poor service or dishonesty from Takealot's delivery team.
I would like Takelot to explain the reasons for their poor service towards me and deliver my order before 25 September 2021 or refund my money.
Utterly disgusted by the mistreatment as a seller
I'd like to start this review by stating that I have been a loyal Takealot customer for years, I've recommended these guys to both friends and family as being reliable for years.
However my complaint isn't with the Takealot platform but rather the Takealot Seller Portal and their incompetent compliance team.
I've been a seller on the platform for just under a year now and I've sent hundreds if not thousands of tickets and queries trying to resolve issues. Of which most of these tickets are either ignored or set as solved without anyone actually responding to them or helping you in any way or form. And the people that you do eventually connect with listen to your problem, state they will contact/call you back and you never hear back from them again.
Over the last month, I've been trying to add new products to my Catalogue, these products are branded and were bought in a retail store, I have the receipt for them and everything. These products kept getting rejected however by the compliance team due to needing a letter from the manufacturer or a receipt for the products. I then uploaded the receipts and the products got rejected yet again, I was then told to contact the retail store and ask them for a direct invoice for the products. I did this and got a new invoice from the retail store. I then uploaded the new invoice to the compliance team, this was on the 14th. I woke up on the 15th with an email stating that my account has been suspended because the specific agent has the opinion that the products are fraudulent. Note none of these products were ever actually listed under my account let alone sold to anyone, the requests were for permission to sell the specific products.
No member of the compliance team had ever mentioned that these could have possibly been fraudulent over the month-long period that I've been uploading the products. Even so the Takealot T&C state that "You may not provide Product Information or Listing Information for any Unsuitable Products, or otherwise seek to list such Products for sale on the Website, and Takealot is entitled at any time to suspend or remove the listing of any Unsuitable Products from the Website. A list of Unsuitable Products may be included from time to time on the Seller Portal, but Takealot is entitled at any time without prior notice to You to declare any other item as an Unsuitable Product, whether or not it also amends such list." Therefore like in the past, the listings should have just been rejected like they have been in the past. Except the reasoning should state that these are potentially fraudulent products. My account shouldn't have been suspended.
Takealot also states under Prohibited Content, "Illegal and potentially illegal products: All Products sold on the takealot.com site must adhere to all applicable laws. Our sellers are therefore legally liable for their own actions and transactions. As a seller you are expected to familiarise yourself with the legal parameters surrounding any products that you intend to offer for sale on takealot.com. This would include the sale of products by entities outside the Republic of South Africa." None of these products were ever added to my listings let alone sold to anyone, I was simply requesting permission to sell these products, unknowingly that they were fraudulent. If I had known that or if it was ever mentioned I would have gotten rid of the products and never looked back. I'm not the manufacturer nor the importer for these products, again, I bought these from a brick and mortar store, It's illegal in the first place for that retail store to sell fraudulent products.
This has been the latest issue, last month a bunch of my products got disabled because they were "branded" and associated with "PS5" which wasn't allowed to be sold at the time. This is funny because the products that were disabled are generic products that are simply compatible with the PS5, Xbox & Switch controllers. Because it's a generic controller display stand. And on top of that, if you search for "PS5 controller stand" there are still hundreds of products online that weren't taken down like mine was.
Another issue before this, a bunch of products getting rejected due to the primary image being a lifestyle image. This means that on a phone stand or holder, it must be the stand alone without showing the phone. A headphone or controller stand, without showing the controller or headphone. This is especially funny because if you search for a phone/headphone or controller stand right now, there are hundreds of products showing a lifestyle image as the primary image.
Mmmmmmm, Its rules for some and none for others and its BS. I've even had reversible plushies rejected 12 times because either the image with the plushies had to be the same angle, then no arrows allowed on the image and then the product would get rejected for no "dimensions & weight" even though this is a compulsory field when uploading a product. So in the excel sheet that you get back when a product is rejected, a reason is mentioned like the one before. So I'd add those specifications again and reupload. I'd then get the product rejected AGAIN and in the same document with all the specifications listed, I'd get a BS "No dimensions or weight" issue again. After 12 attempts I gave up on those products. That was still when there was a single reversible octopus plushie on the market, now there are hundreds. All with [censored]ty images, arrows on the image and I'm pretty sure none of their listings were rejected.
I'm still dealing with the suspended account, and my whole company runs around selling on Takealot, it's everything, our whole importing market of products is on Takealot. I'm losing thousands because of this and no-one can tell me how long this will take, how long the suspension is, how I can get it reactivated. I have the option to repeal the suspension, which I've done several times without any responses. I've never received any warnings, tickets or suspensions before, this is all a first. And my account is being suspended even though I haven't done anything illegal or against the T&C of Takealot.
I hope someone that can help me sees this and attempts to help me because going through the compliance team and sending them tickets is useless, nothing ever gets resolved, let alone answered.

Definately an abusive monopoly and the public aids and abetts its abuse to sellers
The seller support telphone folk are poorly trained
And simply put down the phone on sellers if they are unhappy
Managements has zero interest in sellers exceot when trying to get them onboard
Damaged stock is returned at sellers expense after repaying the damager without even inspecting the goods thiugh they dont know to either
and the dispute system against damages is for show only
Weeks pass after you submit a lengthy dispute form and the trail peters out and seller never hears again
Returns are probably between 30 to 50 percent at a guess
How could any other company make a profit allowing buyers to return that many products either damaged by public weeks later or the packaging and seals broke or products damaged ? Pick nooay checker woukd have gone bankrupt long ago but takelot is just a middle nan and has no products so sinply abuses sellers to meet its own ends
Fulfillment fees and success fees percentages and forcing the suppliers to pay for delicery on top of that leave sellers eith hardly any money to sustain their businessness
But takelot dominates google shop ads with mega bucks and forces the bidding for ads on google out of reach of most ither companies pushing up google shop add starting bids per click to unaccessible prices except to big monopoliies like takealot
Google and takealot are colluding and the authorities really dont have a clue and inflationary prices are killing everyone except on tiny small worthless items

Hi - have you had any resolution wrt this complaint. I'm also fedup with how TAL treats sellers, but we seem to be powerless. No service - rude and disintereted call centre staff. NO ESCALATION PROCESS. Call centre staff even refusing to tell me who the manager of their area is. This "Manager" is always "on lunch" or "has already left for the day".
They have just decided to disable the Homeware section until 12 December - the busiest time of the year, so I cannot load any new products.
I also have issues with products loaded being declined because of the images that is never right.
I absolutely dread phoning their call centre because it mostly pointless - your issue is either "referred to another area" which never phones you back.

Poor delivery service
I placed an order on 13th September 2021 and agreed to payment for delivery service on condition that the order would be delivered by 15th September 2021 by 17h00.
No communication was received from Takealot regarding any difficulties in delivering the order timeously, instead when I tracked my order online it still confirmed delivery on 15th September 2021 by 17h00.
By 16h30 when the order had still not been delivered I called to enquire how far the courier was, only to be told for the first time that my order had been delayed.
If I had known that Takealot could not deliver on the agreed time, I would not have made the order as the order was needed on that day and this delay has caused much distress.

Driver who bumped my car
Yesterday one of your drivers around atteridgeville after making a dilivery in my area bumped my car and ran away i only have the vehicle make and the 1st 2 letters of his registration and need to get hold of him to fix my car
ET Motorgate
I bought a ET motor gate from Allotment . 1st I had to pay someone to install the motor gate and put it in place and put on the tracks. 2ndly I had to get out an electrician to to the wiring as the warranty says a qualified person needs to do this . The electrician was battling to get the receiver to work and it just did not wanted to work correctly. So they phone ET themselves and figured out the received of the motor gate is faulty. So the electrician installed a new received and now the gate works perfectly. I inquired to Take allot customer service that I had to pay a R1000 for a new receiver and what is the way forward . I was told to send the hole product back . What !. Which means I need to pay someone AGAIN to now and take out the motor gate. I asked for a alternative to only send receiver back but I was told to send the hole product. I asked for a manger and was told they will tell me same . So I have to pay over R2000 just for lab our and this because of a faulty product I received. I even told them I will send the electricians invoice and they confirmed with ET that this was the problem . How much more proof do Take allot want . I am very unhappy and told help desk I will just pay the new received and will not pay some one again to come take out motor gate. This is unreasonable ?

The delivery man said he missed me when he called to deliver. He, however, did not ring my bell so I am not sure he was at the gate when he called. I missed his call and called back barely 30 seconds after and he insists that I have to wait for a redelivery with the next delivery person as he was already very far gone.
I had waited all day for this delivery and moved engagements around to make time for this. To receive this type of service is totally unacceptable.

I am very disappointed with this online shopping service. I placed an order on the 26 August 2021 and specifically paid for next day delivery which would be for the 27 August 2021.The courier company or driver was not by my address but according to the tracking details that they cant show me they were at my address. I waited for this order because its for my business and it was urgent for the 27 August hence the reason for paying for next day delivery. I call there call Centre twice and spoke to Rhoda and another gentleman and they both promised me that I would get my order on the 27 August 2021.

I collected my order on 17 June 2021 which included the above Cartridge Bundle. From Fontainbleau collection point.
I wasn't sure when my cartridges would run out, so had no reason to open the cartridges before the last week of July when the old ones ran out of ink. However I struggled over the next week to insert the cartridges and only discovered a week after that that they had put a different cartridge into the HP652 Tri-colour pack, which was a different size and therefore did not fit into my printer.
I logged several Returns (on 8, 9, 17, 18 Aug) which were rejected because I had had my order for more than 30 days. I could not send them a screen shot because by the 9th, I had left the cartridge bundle with the official, Simbu at the Fontainbleau collection point, who I explained my situation to, and he said he would sort it out for me and organise an Exchange. I could not send Takealot a screenshot as.. the Bundle was and is still with Simbo at Takealot collection point.
A few days later I asked him what was happening and he said he would check it out for me, but never came back to me. Since then I have heard nothing from anybody, and I am getting quite desperate for my cartridges now. I know if I log another Return or Exchange, it will be rejected again.
