givenchy refusal to accept defective container
These are the facts. My wife bought a bottle of Givenchy mens perfume from Truworths pavilion store in Durban. She took the packet and placed it on her car seat and went to do additional shopping. On her return to the car she noticed that the packet was wet. She took it back to the store. The stand in store manager was called and he said that there wasn't much they could do about it as it must have been broken outside of the store. My wife insisted the box was opened so she could see where it was broken. The neck of the bottle where the spray head is attached was cracked. The box was left there for the store manager, Natalie to look at and discuss with the Givenche rep. query number [protected] was logged in. A few days later my wife was called to say the rep said they couldn't refund or exchange as they couldn't take responsibility for the damage.
My logic says that if their container wasn't defective then the force required to crack the glass to that extent would surely have resulted in damage to the cardboard box yet there was not a mark on it. I do understand that it must be hard to explain as to why it wasn't leaking in the store except that it is displayed upright but then the logic should be applied both ways and maybe not the assumption that the customer must have broken it.
I just want to know if this is the view of Truworths and Givenche and not just a store manager and rep whose judgement may not be in line with the brands.

On 17 June we went to Monte Casino for an early father's day dinner. While we were there, my mom and I decided to visit Truworths. She asked if she can buy me and my sister both a pallet of eye shadow. The price on the shelf was marked R89.00 for one, but when it came to paying, she had to pay R318.00 (R159.00 each). When I questioned the assistant, she said the marked price is for old stock they no longer have. She called another lady working on the floor, and all she did was take off the marked price on the shelf and for them that meant everything was resolved and they didn't even offer to give it to us for the marked price. As there were other cosmetics on the same shelf marked on the same label, if we had checked it, it probably would've been the same situation. And even worse, if it is exactly the same product as the 'old' one, why did the price increased from R89.00 to R159.00... It is a total rip-off!

I went to Truworths northgate this past weekend to pay my account.
The lady at the till name tag written Babalwa gave me attitude because I didn't have my truworths card I wanted to use ID instead I always use my id even when I am purchasing. She said she cant help me without my card, only a lady by the name of Kamo helped me. U cant have people with mood swings or this kind of behaviour working in your. What was different between Kamo using my ID nd she said she cant help.

This complain is because every time when I'm applying for personal LOAN or car finance the bank comes back saying is declined. When I'm asking why my application was declined the bank says my truworths account reflects negatively on my credit profile. I don't understand because I'm everymonth paying perfectly the account. So please help on this before I think to close up this account and move to another Stores where I will get a better service. Thank you

On the 22/03/2017 went to the nearest Truworths in Nelspruit, Brown street. Mpumalanga, amount due was R720 which on the date stated I paid R500 using my capitec account, This new eployees (Linda Zulu) took my card and I swiped R500, emmediatly on after payment I got an sms from capitec that amount is approved but this guy told me the their machine has declined the payment.
Emmmediatly he called 2of his coleagues who saw an sms on my phone, they told me to swipe my card again because they always receive such problem with their swipping machine. which I refused to swipe my card again.
I said I will come the shop next day to check with them.
I called the call centre and told them what happened they advised me to go print bank statement and go with it to Truworths. I did so after 2days had my declined receipt and my bank statement which clearly stated that payment was done to truworths on that day.
Gave all my document to truworths manager I explained everything to her she emmediatly made copies of all doc including my ID, She promised to look into the matter and give me a call. The only call I get is that I must pay amount due of R720, even an sms sometimes they will say amont due of R220. Whatever is going on can someone plz go through this account and check what happened that day because I will not pay amount that I have already paid. I dont no if its a scam or what.
A request will be for them to sort out this matter and find where my R500 amount went to before any father payment is done

I had bought a suit on the 7/04/17 and was very displeased with the way it was packaged. After I had made the purchase, the teller decided to fold the suit I had spent over R2000 on and stuffed it into a regular sized packet. I was extremely shocked by this reaction. The suit is delicate and needs to be handled with care due to hard to remove creases that can be formed by folding. I then told the teller to remove the suit and put it into packaging designed for suits, she then proceeded to tell that there are is no such (in an unpleasant attitude). I was completely stunned to hear this. I then went on to ask another teller if there was a special suit packaging and she told that THERE IS A SUIT PACKET. I was then shown a suit PACKET, an actual packet that was just enlarged to carry a suit or DRESS in. I was completely shocked by this packet as it is of low standard because I was about to put a suit worth over R2000 in it. Over my experiences I have bought suits from Markham and edgars and recieved propper suit packagings designed to carry suits and the suits that I have bought from these retailers cost less than what I paid at edgars. This all happened at the edgars in Greenstone Mall in edenvale, Johannesburg.

Today the 18 March 2017. My Cusin Sister, myself and Mr Tshabalala drove to your Branch at Killarney Mall around 13:00. Whilst my Cusin and I were doing shopping and undecided on what we wanted. The staff members kept on following us. I decided to ignore them and continued doing what I came to do. To my worst and horrible observation was when I was to pay, a lady at the till told this other guy to keep an eye on us. I was furious when I saw what she was signaling to this guy. I then informed the guy at Men's section about the experience. He asked me if I wanted to lay a complaint and I said no because I didn't want to upset myself. So when we got home I relate the story. As a card carrying client I want to know IF THIS IS HOW A BLACK STAFF MEMBER TREATS BLACK CLIENTS then clearly your staff ARE SILLY. Do something before I report this to the MEDIA.

I am a good payer... Always... Last month my daughter was admitted to hospital and my bills have been unbearable. I short paid my account by r400, and it is my final payment... I spoke to a gentlemen on wednesday 8th march 2017 explaining my situation and confirmed I would pay the balance of r400 at the end of this month, he accepted my office. Since then I have received 3 sms's threating me I will be handed over if account was not paid by the weekend of 11th march 2017. I have received a phone call every morning and every afternoon this week requesting payment! I have explained to them I made an arrangement and they must stop calling me... But the calls just keep coming...
Then the woman who phoned me now... Gets cheeking... And just ignores my explanation of making arrangement!
I am extremely stressed out regarding my daughters health, the financial stress... To have you calling me everyday after an arrangement has been made!
This is illegal! Over r400? When if you look at my payment history I am a good payer! I am going to take this further... I will be forwarding this email with proof of sms's and amount of phone calls to the credit bureau ombudsman.
Sick of this! Stop the threats! Will be interesting to see you in court over r400... And a claim from me for my hospital bills because of the stress you are adding to my life after I have done the right thing by making an arrangement! I will be reporting shirley and the rest... For the harassment!
exchange of a gift
I dont know why cant I exchange a gift at Truworths, where do u think I would get a proof of payment when its a gift and do u know how embarassing it to ask for a reciept when its a gift. I mean I dont want refund I want an exchange, I should have just left the items in your shop becoz I will never use them. I will never shop at Truworths again never in my life
refused an exchange at northgate store
I went to Truworths Northgate on 10/02/2017 and had purchased a few items 3 of them did not fit and had sent my fiance with the till slip and account card for the exchange only for him to be told he could not be assisted. I requested to send them or give my id number over the phone and was provided with a fax number and I faxed my letter to be told they did not receive it. Sadly they decided to refund items of almost R1200 just because they refused to exchange

exchanges and poor customer service
I purchased items from your gateway store on 17/12/16. I wife went into the same store the next day to do an exchange but was refused as I was not there, however she did have the till slip as per your policy. She was told that she is not the account holder and that I need to be there. This was not for a purchase it was an exchange and the item was the same price. I called the store and asked for a manager and was put through to anna who after a few minutes of me speaking to her said cannot continue the conversations she could not assist me and was going to transfer me to the 2ic of the store. 12mins and 4 other people later I was told the the manager was on lunch and would be transfered to a floor manager. Guess what after another couple of minutes and and a few more people I still did not speak to anyone that could assist. I left my details for the floor manager or 2ic to call me back and it is more than 45mins and still no call.
So does your store run without a manager on the floor/available.
In this day and age were trading times are so difficult service should be the number one priority in your business.
I do understand that you have your policies in place buy there is a thing called managers discretion and each situation handled based on its own merits.
My son has chicken pox and therefore I did the shopping alone as my wife had to stay at home with him. She needed to exchange items so needless to say we could not take him into your store so I had to stay behind with him. I think a situation like mine could have warranted a little discretion from anna who I did explain this to.
This is just a poor display of service on the part of all staff a your gateway branch.

I took it to Truworths, Fourways Mall on the 04/11/2016 to redeem the gift.
I was told by the cashier that the voucher is expired, I am too embarrassed to tell the person that gave me the gift.

belt missing from garment
Good morning
Sometime in may 2016 I bought a dress at truworths rosebank mall from the ltd side, there were only two dresses left but different sizes, I took the one which was my size.
After i’ve worn the dress I realise that it had loops on both sides (Meaning there is a possibility that it had a belt) but I didn’t pay much attention because the other dress which was left at the store didn’t have a belt as well, so I reckoned maybe it supposed to be like that. (It has a maternity look when you are wearing it without a belt so I use to wear it with a jacket in the past winter).
To my surprise I went to sandton in truworths the past weekend and I saw that the same dresses are back and they have belts around the waist, I went to mall of the south and saw the same dresses with belt around the waists.
I have worn the dress already and I don’t want to take it back because I love it, but I feel I was misled as client into believing that what I bought was the complete package especially because I spend r500 on that dress.
I feel really disappointed because I paid full price for that dress which didn’t even have a belt and the sales people at rosebank didn’t even bother to warn me or advise me that the dress was supposed to have a belt.
1. I feel that as a customer I was misled by truworths rosebank into thinking that the dress I was buying was complete
2. I paid the full price for that dress, and I feel I need to get the best service and wear the dress I love.
3. Truworths rosebank was supposed to remove the dresses from the display the minute they saw that the belst were missing.
Also truwoths rosebank was the only place in which I saw those dresses, I think they didn’t have them yet at the other truworths store so I couldn’t compare the dresses to any other truworths because I hadn’t seen those dresses anywhere else,
I am very unhappy about this whole situation and I feel it won’t be easy for me to trust a product that I see first-hand at any truworths store because I might not know that it might me a reject product or something real.
Now I am stuck with a dress that oesnt have a belt and I cannot wear it summer because it needs a belt around the waist otherwise it looks like a maternity wear!
This has really made me a very unhappy client.

I was given a fossil watch purchased from truworths in july 2015. It was leather, after a few weeks the leather turned black. I returned the watch and it was sent away to be replaced by a metal strap instead. This took about 2 months. And I had to pay r500 to replace the strap. Once I got it back, and after 1 day the watch fell off my arm, the screw came loose. I took it back. They sent it away, again, supposedly to cape town, but it was sent to another city in error. So this delayed by another month. I got it back this week. Infront of the manager, I shook the watch juggled it around to ensure that the strap was on tight enough. All seemed well. Not even 3 hours later, I was driving home, changing gears and the watch popped off my arm. The screw came loose again. This watch was given to me in july 2015. It is now april 2016 and I have not been able to wear it. For for my trouble of being without a watch for almost a year, I would like ta replacement fossil watch of my choice without having to pay in any additional money.

call centre agent being rude to the customers
I paid r941.00 on my account number [protected] at truworths gezina branch, I know that this was a late payment but I was suprised when the call center agent call me yesterday at night accusing me of not paying my account. Please train your agents before they make calls to the customers or they must work under supervision. I pay my account regularly and I don't expect someone to harass me at night telling me about my unpaid account. If you can check your records ever since I opened this account i've been paying without any problems and if you are going to call us at night to remind us of the payment, that is stupid idea. Try something else and you must also learn to respect your customers. And whoever called me yesterday at night you must take to a course whereby she will study telephone techniques and she must have some manners. I wonder who she is? I am working with customers on daily basis with respect because without them I will never get a salary. Thanx
gucci guilty perfume
I purchased a gucci guilty perfume gift set a week ago. To my surprise the perfume only lasts about 30 minutes, in an hour there is hardly no smell. This is so ridiculous as I have never experienced something like this before. If truworths has a fake gucci perfume supplier, they need to correct this but I am taking it back and hope this will be resolved, cause I wont be paying for a fake perfume. I don't think gucci can produce a perfume that last 30 minutes. This is a rip off but not with me

I visited the mac truworths store on the 8/09/2015 and was quite excited as I love truworths, I entered the mac department and with a huge smile I asked a lady for assistance only to be so crashed and was told so rudely that I must wait due to her been busy with another client, so I stood there for more than 12 minutes and nobody bothered to help me, there where many ladies there but nobody even noticed me just standingand waiting, I approached the lady at the pay counter and she was also busy and acted as if I was not there, so after a while a lady help me, so I explained to her what I wanted and judging by her help she seemed new, the next day after applying the product I noticed I looked four times darker and was horrified to an extent of tears. I am a rep so looking good is essential, having a smile and been positive, I had quite an horrific day due to me constantly worrying about my face. I was disgusted by my face complexion and felt so low and irritated the entire day, which affected my work. I mean is this the service that you get from mac, and they also bring the truworths name down as well, I really am dissapointed and disgusted by this incident.

After payments or even if the account is not been paid in full, these call centre phone around 20 times, evening working day. So one question, this is call harrasement. What is the right of a consumer on the case of harrisment. If you go and look onto peter.com how mandy incidents is there. So even though I cannot pay my full account what I my right as consumer regarding harrisment at work and during the day. 20 phone calls will not make a diffenrence on the payment.
During the lock down we where not at work for two months. Unfortunately everything came on hold around us. So why the victimization and harrisment for accounts that where favorably paid before lockdown. We also have a customer protection plan on the account which is paid for times like this so what's the blady problem.
