I am complaining about closing a store early.
I drove up to the store out in the pleasant Hill area in TN. The actual address is Crossville TN. A girl who I have only notice working there for maybe a week now, who was running the store by the name Brittany was checking out someone and it was 2 mins till 10. I understand that it was last couple mins but had she still had the door unlocked since it was not even 10 I could have had time to run in and get what I needed. Told her I knew what I needed and exactly where it was and even had the right change. I been going to this store 2 or 3 times a day since it has open. I would like to know if they are suppose to lock the doors before 10.
assistant store manager and another associate
Was in store 01975 a couple days ago and the assistant store manager Lupe was talking to another girl on the sales floor. It was brought up that the old manager wasn't doing her job and that she was a disgrace to the company. In front of customers, and Lupe was using such fowl language it was ridiculous. I have never had the store manager mean to me. They both kept say g now that she's gone things would get better in the store. Something needs to be addressed here.
customer service
Went to the store in Hatfield In. The new cashier names Lora is a wack job. She litteraly told a paying customer that he was fcking dck... me along with several other people in line could not believe what we heard her say.
I have also witnessed her cussing the Assistant Manager and the Manager.. Every time I go there I check to see if she is working and if so I do not even go in..
Why has she not been fired on the spot?
What you need to realize is DG has minimal employees and pays minimum wage so what do you expect
employees
I was in dollar general in Williams, this evening at about 6pm on Saturday April 28, 2018 and there was I believe a manager sitting behind the counter while the cashier helped us. Literally sitting on her butt on the ground or a stool right there in plain site. And the minute you walked up to the counter you could smell weed. We think she had the weed vape. We aren't sure if that was the case but I do know you couldn't smell anything until you got to the counter. I used to be a manager at this dollar general till my son got sick and my husband got diagnosed with a brain tumor. So I know what is and isn't appropriate and I know for a fact sitting on the job whole customers can see you is definitely not appropriate or professional. And then the smell of weed was so strong there was absolutely no mistaking it for anything else. This employee I have never seen before so I don't know her name but you can view on the camera how lazy and unprofessional she was being.
She was counting the safe. Where she was sitting points to that. As to smelling like weed, were they both doing their jobs? It sounds like they were. Stop trying to find something to [censored] about.
rudeness and attitude of store manager/refusal to do a return
On April 27th I went into the dollar general in sterlington, La and the store manager Tonya Musgroves was very rude and wouldn't listen to what my needs were and refused my return. She said I had to take it back to store I bought and also all sales are final on clearance items. Nowhere between dollar general and the website does it say all sales are final on clearance items. I went into the Dubach, Marion, Bernice and sterlington buying stuff for a family who lost everything in a fire earlier in the week. I didn't know there sizes or that the had allergies so I need to return some of the items and also everything I bought wasn't clearance and then some of the stuff even regular I was overcharged. I spent $400 so I need to know why you allow your employees to be rude and makeup their own rules. I refuse to be stuck with the stuff that family couldn't use. I would like a response ASAP about how to handle and return these items.
returns
I was recently in dollar general in sterlington, La, and I wanted to return some items that the Marion store had messed up on..the manage Tonya told me very rudely she would not return my items..to take them back to the store I got them..I have never had any body from the dollar store tell me that..she was very rude to me in front of customers, I just turned and walked out..and I wasn't the only one who left.
racial profiling and/or discrimination
I am complaining about a horrible experience that i had two days ago (April 26, 2018) in the Dollar General store (Store# 19242) located at 135 Canal Street, Staten Island New York 10304. I was accused by the Manager of stealing, in front of other customers and workers. The Manager claimed that he has been there for three months and that I had also been there many times and never bought anything. He claimed that he had received a call from his "LP" about me stealing. When I explained to him that I had bought numerous items there and that he even helped me with a purchase once, he refused to listen and called for the police. I then returned to the store with the empty boxes of the items that I had purchased and the corresponding receipts. He then changed his story and stated that I was there twice on that particular day and didn't buy anything. I proceeded to explain to him that I was there to view some items that I needed and then went to the nearby Family Dollar store to compare prices. I am a local taxpayer and home owner of this community. I have been shopping at that location since before it was a Dollar General and it was a Family Dollar. That particular Manager is a lier, has no manners, respect or professionalism. I am demanding a public apology. I have already started to publicly rate this store negatively on the internet and will continue to do so, I will also be contacting the local politicians as this may be a case of racially profiling customers, as I happen to be of Hispanic descent. I immediately called the Corporate Office on that very same day and I was told that I would be receiving a call from the District Manager named Craig or Greg, within 24 hours. I waited all day yesterday and that call never came. The complaint number for that call is [protected]. Thank you and I am looking forward to your rapid response
customer service
I shopped at 8 dollar general stores today I love this store and the special clearance events...i spent hundreds of dollars today and had a great experience until I got to the crothersville in store...i had a list of everything on clearance with up codes most of which was still on the shelves and not in the clearance area so I took a few items which I had purchased (clearanced) at other stores so I knew they were clearances however she told me that it wasn't online I then checked the toilet paper and paper towels which I had purchased at another store all she said is it's not on sale and wouldn't check that store has, so many discontinued items that I should've been able to purchase ...i do hundreds of dollars of buisness at dg monthly it's one of my favorite places to shop however today I feel so let down...id on the other hand like to praise the newer scottsburg indiana store on hwy 31 south...there store was spotless and so organized and everyone there's so polite.
nationwide sale this weekend
Me and my mother in law went to the dollar general In Odessa Texas on 8th street. We had a cart full of the sales items that were from discontinued list. We even asked a sales associate if a product was on sale and she stated yes. At this time another associate came up and told her that we were couponing and no. When we went to check out we said that her manager wouldn't let her do the overrides that the other dollar general stores were doing. The lady was extra rude and gave us an attitude when we told her that it was a nation sale and they needed to honor it. Very very disappointed in the way dollar general employees are handling this sale!

discriminatory actions
At the register the employee scoffed and complained about me needing a price check all along while taking a personal call. My friend who was near me made a complaint about how unfriendly the lady putting up glasses was. Then I made he comment it must be contagious. The employee then refused service to me out of being rude. I tossed the stuff back at her. And began exiting the store when she harassed my friend and I outside of the store. She called the cops and had us put on no trespass. My friend did nothing. I want to know why this employee refused service to a customer based on a initial civil complaint. Then why she was under the impresssion she could leave the register and building completely chasing us Down like sub human criminals. It was embarrassing. I have spent several hundreds of dollars at this store. As a corporation are you supporting discriminatory selling? If she is allowed to not sale to anyone based on her initial improfesionalism and discriminatory bias. Then what's to stop discriminatory hiring etc. I plan to socially boycott this location if this is not properly resolved. Sincerely James lee Dunn

service
Dollar General in Aspers was horrible. Not one person but Kelly greeted us and took us to what we needed. More people need to be like that. When she was checking out another person came up and told her to do this do that. She was like ok when I'm done. People had short brown hair. I believe she was the assist store manager. Always love seeing kelly
general quality of help & store appearance is going down hill fast.
Over the past two years or so I have noticed a decline in the quality of help, the way they bag purchases, and unfriendliness of your staff. There was a time when you entered one of you stores, everyone that worked there said hello, no longer the case. The shelves and floors are a mess and no one seems to straight the aisles any more. Today, April 25, 2018, for example when I made a purchase at store #15480 the cashier bagged shower cleaning spray with my food. By the time I got home it had leaked all over the food items I had purchased. The cashier only spoke to me when I was paying for my order. The manager, as I observed, walked by and never speaks to anyone as well as several other employees. I don't want to spend my money at a store where I am treated this way, there are plenty of Family Dollars around, where they have a friendly staff that greets each customer and products are not all over the floor and aisles. I don't want to shop at this store anymore unless you get your act together. I used to be your biggest fan, no more I'm afraid.
register complaint//hours
First off, I am complaining about the registers here at the Dollar General in Grundy Center. Yesterday, the cash register was not working and froze. Hence, they closed the store for over an 1-1/2 hours. Get new registers. It is not the first time that this has happened. It occurs almost on a weekly basis. GET THEM REPLACED! You are loosing business big time! Especially at the busy times throughout the day.
My second complaint is the hours. You either need to change the hours on the website for Grundy Center Dollar General or post the hours appropriately at the store. The hours at the store says they close at nine, but of course most of us use our phone/computer to check the hours. It states 10 pm. Get the hours fixed.
Plus the employees close most times 5 minutes before nine, and won't let anyone in. NOT HAPPY. RUDE Employees too.
rude employee
I visit you store (#15515) several times a week. I was there last night and an employee by the name of Shamus was very rude. His remarks to me at the register were uncalled for. I asked for cigarettes and he said, I'm not there yet. The way he said it was extremely rude. Not the first time I've had to deal with his attitude. At the counter another day, he burped basically right in my face; and said oh, excuse me, I just had lunch. His attitude really needs to be worked on. He needs more training in customer service and how to talk to people. There was a little kid up there one night and he didn't want to go to the register because Shamus was at the register and he didn't like him. This kid may have been 4. For a kid to not like someone, that speaks volumes. I am not a complainer, but enough is enough with this guy. Besides that, I love your store and the other employees there have always been very nice and very helpful.
just vote with your wallet that speaks louder than any complaints you could make
manager needs to stop flirting and do her job
Everytime to go into the DG in Rickman, TN the manager there is ALWAYS flirting with vendors or customers is it just sickening. I go shop with my children who do not need to see or hear half the stuff they have in that place. I have actually had to start shopping at one in another city because of this and so has many other people. She never wants to help anyone and she is very rude. This is a very small family oriented town where everyone knows everyone and this is not acceptable. She has had many complaints so I am not sure why she is still there. A few of the vendors for the DG has gotten in trouble with their employer because she hits on them and when they turn her down she gets revenge. She calls their place of employment and says they were flirting with her and she is uncomfortable with them coming back to her store. How in the world can we as customers get this taken care of?
store
The store that is located in sylacauga Alabama on Broadway Avenue beside rite aid is nasty. You can not even walk through this store. I am very surprised there is not lawsuits because the floor is full of random stuff. Everytime I go to this store the manager melanie and assistant manager sandra are either outside smoking, on their cell phones, or standing propped up at the register.
store manager
My son, a friend and i walked over to a dollar general store located at 1606 Atkinson Dr. Lufkin, TX store # 10812 and because I wasn't feeling well my son and i payed for our stuff and left. The store manager told my friend that my son and i are rude. I called over there to confront her about waiting till we left and talking to other customers about me. She told me to come to the store and confront her, i didn't. I said a few wrong words and so she hung up on me. She called another friend of mine, an of the clock employee, and told her that if my husband and i came back to the store she is to call the law. Well, that's my son...not my husband. And she's the so called store manager and talks bad about her customers after they leave the store. I normally shop there 5-6 days a week. So i know i help pay her bills and buy her groceries. And she gets rude and it's ok? She is no kind of store manager. I've worked in a management position and never treated anyone like that.
rude employee
On 4/22/18 I walked to Dollar General. It was almost a hour walk. I needed feminine products for my teenage daughter. The shelves were such a mess. Nothing was in the place it should of been. There was more products in boxes on the floor then on the shelves. I couldn't find the product I needed and when I asked the employee if it was possible for the Dollar General product I was looking for to be on the floor the employee responded rudely I don't know. If you don't see it then we don't have it. I then left the store and borrowed the change to buy the more expensive name brand. The store was such a mess and with rude employees such as you have working there, I have been telling everyone I know that they should avoid that store. Next time I have to walk for something that is important to not just my daughter but all females. I will walk the extra 30 minutes to Family Dollar.
air quality in store
I frequently shop at the Dollar General Store in Stanley, Virginia. Recently, there has been a strong odor of cigarette smoke in the store. It appears that the employees are smoking in the office and leaving the door open so that they can see when someone comes in. The odor of cigarette smoke is a migraine trigger for me, not to mention that I don't want to inhale second hand smoke. I thought that all DG stores were smoke free.
