store manager
Manager was very rude. She was unaware of sale offered by your store. You advertised the gain deal buy detergent and softener and get fabric sheets free. I was told I could not get the sheets for free. That is false advertisement. She was very unprofessional with customers and was unconcerned. I will be spreading the word to not shop at this location. Your cashier apologized for the managers being so rude. Her name was Kim and the location is haughton louisiana.
misplacement of my drivers licence (id)
As I was coming in with my family to go shopping. I went to the front counter with my ID so I can check up on my application to work there. I applied to them about a month ago and they kept repeating that they will call me ( they never did) so I finally went in there and I accidentally forgot my ID there. Now I have known from previous employment that if you find an ID that you should either put it in the safe or put it somewhere other then the counter for someone to either throw it out or steal. Now when I first called about leaving my ID there they raptly said that they haven't seen an ID anywhere. I then follow up and go into the store and the one girl gave me a horrible attitude saying yes we did find an ID but they couldn't find it. Finally I got fed up and called the store again asking them about the missing ID. She then told me that there was no report of an ID after she just asked another employee about it and the employee saying yes we did find an ID. After being able to talk to the store manager she told me that she is very sorry and gave me a $50 gift card while saying that she will keep looking for the ID. A week later I go in to grab the gift card and the same girl that gave me an attitude went on saying that someone could of taken it and thrown it out and that I should be careful next time about where I put my ID. Now that made me furious because it Is not my fault that they did not put it in the safe. Now because of this I can not get a job, health insurance, my birth certification, nor can I drive, all because these people did not put my ID in a respectful place for me to retrieve once I was able to get there. All I want is for someone to actually look for the ID and not blow it off and give me a horrible attitude.

store cleanliness
I visited the Dollar General store at 827 Junction Hwy in Kerrville Texas on 09-18-2017 and this store was sooo filthy. It reminded me of a teenage boys room with crap and trash just piled everywhere. Much like a thrift store of used product. Trash all over the floor like they just lock the doors at night and go home without any cleaning for the next day. There was a large yellow step stool on a top shelf partially hanging off and to me thats a major safety problem along with all of the merchandise and trash on the floor. Its clear that the manager of this store simply dont care about the condition of this store. There was a ladder left on the sales floor for small children to climb and fall off of. This stores condition alone is a major liability in safety. The time of my visit was around 12:30 pm and there is NO WAY this store could have gotten that nasty earlier in the morning. This looks as weeks have gone by without cleaning. I can only hope this store doesnt catch a lawsuit due to a fall. It could be easily obtained. I did walk around taking pictures. It was the worst store I have ever visited. No organization. No one cares.

I arrived at this store in MY community before YOUR POSTED closing time at approximately 745pm. THe door was locked but there were shoppers inside as I could see them. Finally after standing at the door about 5 minutes YOUR EMPLOYEE (tall slim black guy with braids) came to door to let someone out but they were apparently waiting for another shopper because YOUR EMPLOYEE did not unlock the door. He looks at me and motioned with his hand across his neck that they were closed and went back to his mopping. So i go to my truck and get my phone to see the current time because I specifically left my house in time enough to get there before YOU closed. Your posted sign says 8am to 8pm everyday! You do a complete disservice to the community first by locking YOUR doors before closing time and making me, a consumer of YOUR product, wait outside for an EMPLOYEE to see me and open the door. Second disservice is to not honor YOUR advertised business hours.
I spoke to the guy through the glass door and he just ignored me. Not good customer service at all!
I went to Family Dollar and gave them my money.
Also by you locking that door with people inside has to be a violation of severals OSHA rules and laws. I would not want to be locked inside. What if a robber is already inside and now Im locked inside with them? What if a fire breaks out or anything happens and I have to exit quickly? I thought all entrance and exit doors are to remain unlock DURING BUSINESS HOURS?
Your liability will be greater if something happens and im prevented from exiting than it would be if you get some night time security for a few hours if employee safety is the issue.
You have a store, a place of business, in my community and I truly expect you to do business the right way.
I thought I took a picture of your sign as well but I guess not. You can see there are still ptrons inside your store along with YOUR EMPLOYEE mopping.
racist store
i have been in this dollar general store in san antonio tx on randolph blvd several times and every single time i ve been followed down every aisle and also noticed every single african american is followed the minute they walk in the store. i spend a lot of money with this store and no one should have to put up with this. The manager has a very bad attitude and talks very bad to her employees in front of customers, she is definitely not management material and need customer service training
digital coupons
I have had several recent transactions where my coupons aren't applying at check out. I have read the coupon policy with digital and manufactured coupons. One day a couple weeks ago the coupons didn't come off and I asked for my transaction to be voided and to just have my manufactured coupons given back to me. The store manager refused to give me my coupons. This happened at the 1781 South Jefferson Avenue Cookeville TN. I lost $10 in coupons. How can we remedy this situation? I like shopping at DG but with all the hassle with digital coupons and the incident of not getting my coupons back are swaying me from wanting to go back. Thank you for your time and assistance.
Sincerely
Amanda Madewell

dirtiest store i've ever been to.
The store in Palmyra Indiana needs serious managing. I went in there yesterday, 9-17. I've never seen a store in such a shamble. It looked like a tornado had gone through there. The shelves and freezer areas were barely stocked. More empty space than products. Every aisle had groceries, clothes and toys thrown all over the floor. The toy isle was almost impossible to walk down due to all the toys being in the middle of the floor. I said something to the only clerk working about how bad the store looked and she said that is what we get when they don't have enough people to work. I will never go back into that store.
manager cussing at employee and not letting her use the bathroom
My cashier, Melanie, was very nice but she obviously had to pee. I told her to get the manager up here so she could go, she said she'd been trying. It was only them two in the store. She said 'Chiconda, i need to go to the bathroom', I'm not sure exactly her reply, but she cussing and screaming and basically told her no. It was rude and unacceptable. There were children present. This is not the first time I've seen this same woman cussing and being mean to an employee. It needs to stop.
several racial comments
I was at the register to checkout at Dollar General # 1350 894 N Nova Rd
Daytona Beach, FL 32117. There was 2 black young ladies with there items on the checkout counter. One of the young ladies sprayed a feminine body spray and put it on the counter to purchase. The Manager Donna came from around the cashier desk, got in the young lady face and told her to leave the store. The young lady replied" I want to purchase my items" The manager advised her that she was calling the police to get her tress passed. The other young lady tried to make a purchase but the cashier didn't allow her to because the manger said "NO GET THE HELL OUT FOR SPRAYING THAT SPRAY". The first young lady stated" I am gone purchase the spray. Donna replied "NO you were going to steal it" The first young lady replied" Steal it, I have a job and money" Donna then stated YOUR PEOPLE BLACK PEOPLE ARE THE ONES STEALING AND GO SHAVE YOUR ARM PITS". The 2 young ladies departed. I stated to Donna that the comment she made was very offensive especially for me being a black customer who don't steal. Donna became very argumentative and confrontational. She replied" ok, so what she said something about my race first". I advised Donna that as a manager her actions were unethical and unprofessional. She then became very belligerent and aggressive. I asked for the manger she replied" I am the manager, Do you want the district manager? I replied" yes I need to speak with your supervisor". Donna bluntly stated " I'll give you the number but there is no need to call 407-***-**** nothing will happen. There was another customer in line who left her items and departed the store along with me. As we were departing Donna stated" Yeah leave Go shop at Family Dollar".
I shop at Dollar General generally. I would definitely not be returning to store #1350. On this day I have my 2 little girls with me ages 3 and 5 who witnessed this outrageous behavior. I was extremely offended by her actions.
I included a picture of Donna and the cashier who witnessed the incident. The cashier appeared to be frightened.
assistant manager I am complaining about
Went to DG at around 10:40pm tonight. Was only grabbing cleaning supplies. I go to a different aisle to grab detergent...and run into Jenna, the Assistant Manager. She then told me they were closing in 5 minutes. She was very rude about it, like I needed to rush just because there were 5 minutes til 10pm. Mind you I am 8 months pregnant and walk pretty slow. She then yells "Everyone get to the front and checkout!" For someone to be in customer service...she is so rude, makes me not want to come to this store and buy things. She didnt have any manners or respect towards anyone. I walk to the cashier and there are 2 ladies checking out. Mind you they have about $130 worth of groceries. It took about 10 minutes for them to checkout. I waited patiently, no rush. One of the girls went back to look for something for her newborn. The Assistant Manager comes and says "you can't shop anymore we are closed". This lady needs to be replaced. The lady felt very disrespected and hurt. And also the new hired cashier was also upset, it was only her 3rd day. And while the cashier was checking the customers out, the Assistant Manager asked, "Did you bring in the carts!?" & she answered "no I'm taking care of the customers first". So the Assistant Manager throws the broom down and walks outside grabbing the carts and pushing them very hard in the door to bring them in. I would gladly be hired as a Manager and brighten this place up. Most of the staff don't last and some don't seem very respectful. This is the worse customer service I have ever witnessed.
Ohio st. Clinton, Mo
I am complaining about a manager behavior.
I am so upset with one of your people I had to do something about it.The other day in your store (#32)Kingston Ga. A elderly couple came in to shop, The gentleman. was getting shaking and weak, He told his wife he needed to sit .So they go to the front of the store and tells your worker she was bringing her husband to the car .Well the lady said no your not what's in that bag .The elderly lady hands her the sack and she said I am calling the police your shoplifting.I was in shock. She belittled this poor woman in front of everyone.I watched the police handcuff this woman with a cane put her into a police car crying, with no clue why she was getting charged with a crime she did not do.The husband spoke with the police and he admitted, this manager had been call them on a regular basis with supposed shoplifters.I spoke with the women in my neighborhood and they all agree they will not go to your store, as long as that woman is working there.
couponing and the cashiers...
Have attached photos to back up my claim. Date is 9/16/17. I looked up all sales prices and sizes need for my coupons to work. Used my digital coupons but did not come off as listed. I always make a step by step list each time I shop. I also keep track of the coupon amounts from my digital coupons. I have to admit I try to make it easy on the cashier. However you gave some who will not or refuse to fool with the coupons. They say they do not have time. I think the customer should always be right. I guess this is not taught to your employees. You need to think about this and the business they turn away from people like me. I spend hundreds a month at your stores. However I am rethinking about as of today. I can go else where and be respected and thanked for my patronage. ONE VERY PISSED OFF CUSTOMER WHO IS POSTING ALL OF THIS ON FACEBOOK, COUPONING SITES ALSO. US COUPON LADIES MUST STICK TOGETHER.
licensed carry permit
i entered a DG store in Alliance, NE carrying my legally permitted firearm. The manager quite loudly told me I had to leave the store. I told them this was a legal carry firearm, but the manager rudely told me I had to leave.
As I left the store, the manager and the only employee that seemed to be present laughed quite loudly after I told them I would never shop DG again.
sales in flyer not at dg location - rings up different
I very carefully go though the digital coupons and the sales flyer. I make my shopping list accordingly. I went to the DG just up the road from me. ( one I frequent often4-6 times a week) Very few sales tags were out and I asked Wendy the manager ( very nice lady) about sales on Maxwell house coffee. When checked it wasnt even close to the $5.50 sale price. I was $6.75- reg price being 6.95. Many other items were the same way. Wendy was at a loss as to why. Only idea was that her store is a "testing" store now. WELL... I am very unhappy with my entire shopping experience this morning. Which is not the norm. The staff are great, the store is well stocked... BUT when items dont ring up as in flyer! NOT happy at all. I did get a few items and when I left- only part of my digitals had come off.- SOMETHING needs to be fixed...
service
I am an employee but first I am a customer and I visit the location at 3150 walkertown in winston salem n.c everyday I was refused the use of my EBT card because my children who is 16yrs and they are listed on my card it is legally there benefits but the employee Jada would not let them use the card . As I said before I also work there and never during training did anyone tell me that my child who is listed on my card couldn't use it . new manager in churchton deale
I was in the store today with my grandchildren and I am a black old lady who hears a lot but hearing that a young man that calls he's self a manager how he talks about other black people that's not acceptable at all. I didn't like the old manager but she never talk bad about black people. I think people like him who act like a racist don't belong in a store at all. The question is now are you going to change something about it? I can't believe that we have this kind of person in out little town .
attitude
Ok. This is the last time i'm putting up with this store.
Today I walked in behind another lady. There were only 2 baskets left sitting in the isle. Both had locked wheels. The other lady asked to have them unlocked by a clerk coming out of the office. This clerk was attitude angry to the max and sounded off on us. She's tall and thin wearing a ton of false eyelash. She needs to take a course on accommodating paying customers. I spend alot of money there. Alot! At least $100 a month. Sacks of dog food, treats, canned dog food, all my laundry needs, paper products, plus cleansers etc. I'm always in there. Today, I was carrying a sack of dog food, treats, 6 tins of dog food and 2 bags of candy with no basket. I get to the checkout with maybe 10-12 people in line. When I came in, no one was at the resister, now, this is ridiculous! I put everything down on a patio chair and left. The same clerk snapped at me once before. After the store was remodeled, I asked about rachel rays dog treats I used to get. She said, "if ya don't see um, we don't have um." besides that, you have dog products in 3 different places in the store.
I'll be shopping at wal-mart. I'm not spending my money at dollar general and be treated like [censor].
trash in my driveway
The store is trashy in front and on side. They say they pick up every night. But same trash there the next day. Talk to them today. Said the boss was coming so they had to clean it
The only did front of store. Not the side which my driveway on. My husband had to pick up trash before he graded the road. They don't empty the trash can nightly so dog or cats get in it. All the employees are lazy. They are always doing nothing. Store had glass broken by picture frames for a week. Isles you can't go down because they are blocked with cap to be put up.
service
I live in Pomona, Kansas and we love have our Dollar General store, except for the fact that this is the dirtiest DG I have ever seen. You cannot get down the aisles, the workers spend their time talking to one another instead of cleaning, stocking, or even paying attention to the customer they are checking out...That being said, one employee, who, anytime I have been there, which is several times a week, has been the hardest working one, always engaging with the customers as expected. She apparently terminated this morning! The only nice person...gone...this is completely unacceptable on the Manager's part, as she is the one who has laid down on her job! I have worked with the public for 33 years, and this is not the way a store is to be run...I am hoping the store stays here forever because our town loves it so much!
