Prepaid cards not working
I had purchased 3 gift cards for $500.00 ea. I have photo of front and back and of all 3 receipts. 2 of the 3 cards had issues and could not charge on for the balances. I I have 1 card with a remainder of $420.78 and another card for $500.00 never used. I was told that without the original receipt there is nothing that they can do. I was the purchaser on my credit card and as stated have front and back of cards unopened with copys of receipts. When I call the for help they hang up, this happened to myself, my secretary and as well as your store manager when I phisically took them to the store I purchased them from. I need some immediate attention on this.

Awful Disgusting Milk
We purchased dollar general brand milk today the clover valley! Never in my life will I ever buy it again ever! It is the most disgusting milk I’ve ever had! To me it taste almost like the smell of raw eggs! I almost got sick from the taste. It was in date not spoiled , sealed. My cats won’t even drink it🤔! Disgusting isn’t even a good enough word to describe it honestly!
FedEx Pickup Service
I dropped off a FedEx package at the DG on Hwy 394 in Bluff City, TN on Thursday 11-17-22 and it sat there until today 11-21-22 when I went back (for the 3rd time) and made the kid give it to me so I could take it to Walgreens, where they have competent employees who know how to scan in packages. This isn’t the first time I’ve had to go back there to check on a package that wasn’t picked up. The kid who is always working will NOT scan it in when dropped off. He makes you write down your phone number so he can enter it whenever he gets around to scanning it in. Today his excuse was that FedEx had not been there since last Wednesday and his scanner was broken. How about reporting it broken so it can be repaired or replaced? And FedEx probably hasn’t stopped by because there has been nothing scanned so they think there are no pickups there. My package could have already arrived had it been scanned on Thursday but due to his lack of concern and incompetence, it’s just going out today. Unacceptable! If you offer this service, train your employees on the procedures so the service actually works!
Desired outcome: Training employees on handling FedEx drop offs if you offer the service.
Disrespectful store managers
I used to enjoy this store out of the many of them in my area this was my favorite. Until I could hear them cursing loudly screaming across the aisles at each other speaking very loudly and poorly on the other associates. The worst of all was the supervisor Jennifer she always had this poor attitude, and her children ran through the store daily. It has been many times I have even seen these children take items and run out of the store with no intention of returning to pay for them. Most days this "manager is sitting in the back of the store never eager to help customers and when she does, she is the rudest of them all. She has on many occasions laughed at the disabled that have come in assuming that no one was paying attention to her ignorance. Being that my brother and cousin are both disabled It really breaks my heart to see people do this, as for her assistant manager Freda she is also a manager that doesn't know how to speak to other associates or customers. The customer can be older or younger and she doesn't care how things are said or expressed. Again, she has a bad habit of taking things that she doesn't pay for. Walking out the door like no one every pay attention. I am a huge fan of discounting, so I am always at this store but if they aren't dealt with, I honestly refuse to ever shop at any dollar general again. I mean what supervisor do you know gloats about not ever getting fired because she's been with the company over 10+ years and knows how to do things the "right way"? I honestly am disgusted with this store and my last time going which wasn't long ago I have decided it'll be my last time until things are resolved. I have also spread the word about this store to several of my colleagues to never attented this store under any circumstances until this problem is fixed
Desired outcome: My desired outcome would be for them to be let go and new management to come in and refurbish this entire store.
Rude Employee
There is one particular employee at store #9096 in Theodore, AL (Fowl River) who really needs to be terminated. (Alexa or Alicia--her name begins and ends with an A) I have on numerous occasions witnessed her speaking rudely and distasteful to customers, gossiping about customers amongst the other employees while also working the register, and even trying to engage customers who I assume she knows personally into the drama and gossip she started! I have also witnessed her myself, walking out of the store behind customers she had confrontation with in the store, into the parking lot to continue arguing and bickering with them! Is this really the kind of people Dollar General hires? Is this how Dollar General wants their employees to behave and treat their customers? I know myself and the people in my community would be delighted to see some disciplinary action take place and this employee terminated from the company and store #9096 so that we can enjoy shopping here again!

I am an African-American and when I go to the checkout I receive rude service; at store # 697 Surry VA. Red Head older lady (Manager ) and my money is snatched from my hand! There will be a Family Dollar and dollar tree coming across from store I will be using this from now on. very rude you need to take control of this store, she was rude with another lady while there, this is not a onetime thing. It is all the time they take breaks all the time and treat there employees who quite all the time and customers bad... I will be driving 15 min down the road to support another store if I have to last year I spent over 2ooo dollars at this store it will end today.
Desired outcome: Fire this person. Let the black headed lady be manager. Rudeness should not be rewarded.
Condition of Harrodsburg, KY Dollar General stores
I am submitting a complaint regarding the lack of help that the Harrodsburg, Ky stores currently have and have had over the last few years.
Someone needs to come to every store in Harrodsburg and help the poor couple of employees that the company has working for them. It is a disgrace that this company will not hire more people or have some people from corporate come to help.
The number of carts sitting around in each store FULL OF MERCHANDISE that cannot be stocked on to the shelves is RIDICULOUS! The store located at the Beaumont Plaza in Harrodsburg is so indescribable. There is no way you can even shop at this store, carts of merchandise EVERY WHERE blocking isles. It is so trashy looking it is embarrassing. It is not the employees' fault that things can't be stocked in a timely manner. It is corporates problem!
You would think that DG corporate would have a little more pride in their stores and business than they do.
There needs to be more than two employees at each store. There needs to be a team of people. Some to cashier and some to stock shelves. I feel sorry for the employees that are employed by you; it isn't fair to them to be required to work in conditions such as these stores are in. Just PITYFUL!

Coke bottles I bought
I purchased 4 bottle drinks in the advertisement did not say you couldn't mix so purchased Dr. pepper products and Coke bottles and the deal said 4 bottles for 10.00 dollars I don't notice it but when I got home looked at the receipt was charged 4.25 each then 4.75 for the other products I went back to the store but was told no manager ave to come back on...

I have been going to this Dollar General location & others for many years.
I have enjoyed your stores a lot. You seem to have mostly what I want & need.
I have visited your store on 475 E 200th St in Euclid, Ohio 44119 many times.
I have noticed the parking lot have for at least a year or more have huge holes in it & at one time when water was covering the huge holes i believe that my car was damage underneath because of not knowing there was holes until the rainwater went away. I have complained to the manager several times & seems they do not know what to do but say to call Dollar General.
I would like to know if you all are aware of this parking lot problem & when would it be repair?

I would like to get my job back at dollar general I have applied in farwell and now I keep getting notified that you guys need help. I did not have no attitude so the clare manager lied to you all when she let me go. And I was never told bout how much time I was to have for the test or cdl's I have to take in order to be hired. 2 bags of halloween candy
I purchased one bag 25 pieces Butterfinger, Crunch, 100 Grand and Baby Ruth assorted candy at $5.00 and one bag Hershey Haunted Shapes chocolate candy 20 pieces at $5.00. I opened the candy and tried some from both bags and the chocolate was "rotten" it seemed like it was old or maybe just sat on a hot truck (no way of knowing). I bought the candy on October 28,2022 at Joelton, TN store # 14393 unde bar codes [protected] and [protected], total spent in that transaction was $66.45, transaction ID 17585. The clerk at that store was very nice. I decided to try another Dollar General store, in hopes of getting some fresh candy to give out Halloween, so I visited Springfield store at 4328 Highway 431 N, Springfield, TN 37172 to make a new purchase and return the bad candy. The clerk there said it was against the law for me to return food and it was against the law for him to accept the return. I find it hard to believe that Dollar General would sell candy that was not fit to eat and not reimburse the customer for the good faith purchase. You should know that I worked for Dollar General for about 9 months in 2021 and was never informed of that policy, it was not part of the food safety training. I would like to receive a refund for this purchase and went to the Joelton store to try there, but it was closed today temporarily by the Fire Department. I still have the candy and can send pics if needed. Please advise me of my options. Thank you.

I writing in hopes you can help. The Dollar General in Otisville Michigan has had a broken door for nearly 2 months! This this the main entrance into the store! The automatic door! The door remains open the entire time the store is open for operation! The temperature is now in the teens. The store is freezing and the poor cashiers and costumers are freezing as well! Not to mention all the leaves and debris are blowing in as well as and rodents that are seeking shelter from the cold temperatures! I have complained numerous times to the employees. There is nothing they themselves can do. As a multimillion dollar operation, you all need to do better to maintain these stores FOR THE HEALTH and SAFETY or your employees and the customers! The store is in terrible need of a renovation! It is dirty and broken shelves as well!

Almost everything I buy there is higher at the checkout register, than the posted price. Some are only 10% higher, some are 15 - 25% higher.
When I asked about this at the register, the answer I got was, we do not have time to change all the prices, the register price is the price. If you don`t want the items, don`t buy it.
Why does the store always look like a yard sale or flea market? Not clean, stuff all over the floor, aisles almost impassible at times.
Hire enough people to post the correct prices and clean up the store.

I bought 5 3 oz bags of the sweet potato & chicken wraps. The only thing there is the sweet potato and about as much chicken as a piece of thread 5 inches long. I bought 5 because Dollar General is usually out of most things. What a rip off. I got 4 bags of the Triple Flavor kabobs. My dog ate part of one and puked and got the runs all over the house. I smelled one and they smelled like dog crap. These Heartland Farms rotten treats and treats missing the chicken that is supposed to be there is a crime. I will never feed my dog this rotten smelly mess that makes her sick ever again. Then I read it is made in China so now I wonder what kind of poison is in those spoiled treats. I had her to the Vets this morning and they gave her medicine for her stomach and advised to throw these treats in the garbage where they should have been before Dollar General pawned them off on the public. I am starting several sites to warn against the poison Dollar General is selling us for our pets. My dog ate the contaminated garbage and got ill on Nov 4th 2022. Staff and service and mobile order process
Did my mobile order first thing this morning it was supposed to be ready at one. They have not even started the order when I got to the store. Half of my products were no longer at the store that we’re at the store whenever I placed the order. Now I’m trying to understand how I’m supposed to get my refund for an order that says is completed and get my coupons back so I can go to another store and buy my products The manager is named kaylee and the store is 21519. She will not give me a number to corporate or anyone that can help me. When I ask her how I’m spouses to get my money back and my coupons back so I can go to another store. She just stares at me and says she doesn’t know. t me 10$ in gas and wasted my coupons and did not refund my money. My total was 14.64 t tax then it went up to 18 without missing items.

Desired outcome: Toknow how I’m getting my money back and how to get my coupons back so I can go buy the items I need at the price they were spouses to be. Had my order been done when I placed it (why I placed it) the items would have been in the store.

Why is there only one employee doing all the work. I was store manager for Place's in Iowa and we had everything covered. You should be doing enough sales to cover more employees especially on truck day!

Information about DG
Finally, someone has called this business down for illegal and unethical practices. DG will not honor their coupons on Saturdays. The bar code reader at their store in Fairfax has not scanned a coupon in at least five years. They enter the bar code by hand every Saturday for me. I have written endlessly trying to get management attention. Last Saturday in Allendale SC I commented upon looking at my receipt that 3 pepsi products were $2.25 each when the item was marked three for 5 dollars on the shelf. So we went to the shelf and there was a big sales sticker 3 for $5. Of course, the expiration date on the sticker was October 8. So the sticker had been sitting on the shelf 3 weeks past the expiration date. I wonder how many other customers got duped. As for the prices marked on the shelves, they are never correct in South Carolina. And by law the store is obligated to honor the "price as marked." We have no stores in my town. So DG is doing whatever DG wants. Thank you, State of Ohio. State of SC has other problems they are dealing with.
Their employees are nice people, but they are "dumb as rocks." Check with DG and see how many times I have written complaints.
Bolt head found in elbow macaroni Ref# [protected]
At the end of September or early October, I registered a complaint by calling the 800 number on the package regarding finding the head of a stainless steel bolt in a box of Elbow Macaroni. I provided the lot number the best-by date and the location of the store where it was purchased. I expected to hear back soon afterward as this bolt head was very large, and could have broken teeth if bitten into. A few weeks later, I called the 800 number again to ask about the status of my complaint. A woman told me they would reach out to the store again. It is now November 2, 2022, with no resolution as yet. The least they could do is offer a free replacement or two. I have the box and the bolt, they haven't even asked for it to perform an investigation. I am super disappointed in the handling of my complaint. My reference number is [protected].
Desired outcome: I would like either a refund or a replacement for the product.
