Bolt head found in elbow macaroni Ref# [protected]
At the end of September or early October, I registered a complaint by calling the 800 number on the package regarding finding the head of a stainless steel bolt in a box of Elbow Macaroni. I provided the lot number the best-by date and the location of the store where it was purchased. I expected to hear back soon afterward as this bolt head was very large, and could have broken teeth if bitten into. A few weeks later, I called the 800 number again to ask about the status of my complaint. A woman told me they would reach out to the store again. It is now November 2, 2022, with no resolution as yet. The least they could do is offer a free replacement or two. I have the box and the bolt, they haven't even asked for it to perform an investigation. I am super disappointed in the handling of my complaint. My reference number is [protected].
Desired outcome: I would like either a refund or a replacement for the product.
Prices are not what their labels/signs say they are.
When I buy certain products such as bottled water and especially coke a cola the Dollar General price says one thing and when they ring it up they ALWAYS short me at least w whole dollar.
Example: Sign AND their bar code on the shelf says (for cokes) one for $7.50 and two for $12.00. They say that they discount at the end when it rings up (when I purchase the 2 for $12) at the end. Well...It discounts only SOME of the discount. It rings up $7.50/each but because I purchased two at a time, it should be the 2 for $12.00. Well...it refund only $2.00 of the $3.00 discount. EVERY SINGLE TIME I AM PURCHASING COKE from every single Dollar Store. The one in Statesboro, Georgia # 21113 is the worst about this, but all are doing this!
This is not okay. They are stealing my money by not giving me the right price they have on this item. The employees are not nice about it when I question them about this either. Please do something!
Desired outcome: Store needs to stop being manipulating with their prices and give me and all customers the correct charge and discount the correct price (NOT just part of the discount)!!

I was verbally abused and attempted robbery at the Blythewood Store on McNullty Street in Blythewood,SC 29180. The girl doing the checking out called herselt Towaanda Howard but the receipt says Ashlen. Ashe rang up a $6.00 bottle of bleach twice but I only wanted one. After I went to the car and looked over my receipt I saw two other discrepancies so I took the items back and told the girls. "Towanda' immediately knew it was the bleach quiz went back there and got it for herself. Laid $6.00 on tne counter and got real mad. Saying Cuss words and the white woman got mad because she had to finish my refunds which she did not do right, and she is clearly a drug user by the needle marks all over both her arms. The older black woman was no help. I am 67 and have a brain tumor with tramatic brain injury and currently using a walker and suffer excruciating pain due to end stage degenerative joint disease. I recently had a stroke .. They took what seemed like forever. I asked them to please hurry as I was in agony and that Towanda (Ashlen Howard) started screaming [censored] you over end over. If it had not been for a black man of God came into the store and prayed with and for me, I would have be attacked physically . These heatherns are robbing these srores blind in my area. And us older folks need these small dollar stores to stay open. The store in Ridgeway was robbed the night before and I think it's an inside job.. I notified RCSD but not Fairfield. Drugs are taking over these people. They are crazy on heroin and meth etc. I never got my taxes back on $ 24.00. Sincerely , Linda Lyles Winnsboro, S.C.
Desired outcome: FIRE ALL EMPLOYEES AND HIRE DECENT DRUG FREE CITIZENS .

Truck driver
This morning, Oct 28th 2022, I was merging onto a highway coming off of a ramp. There are 2 ramps that merge onto this highway, one has a yield and the other doesn’t. I was on the ramp that doesn’t have the yield, while the 18 wheeler was on the ramp that DID have the yield. He deliberately pushed not only me, but the car in front of me(which seemed to have 2 children in the backseat) as well, into the middle of the intersection. He didn’t yield and he made it very clear he was not going to abide by the yield, by continuing to drive forward, completely disregarding the two cars in front of him. There was about 6 inches from my passenger door to his trailer in between us and he still continued to get closer and closer until he pushed my car and the one in front of me into the middle of the intersection. The trailer number was 35106, and the license plate number on the trailer was 0539111. He clearly had no regards to not only my safety, but the car in front of me as well. I understand deliveries are important, but they’re not more important than the lives the driver put at risk.
Desired outcome: I’d appreciate a response.
Amount of hours our store is provided
Between our 8 employees, we are provided 165 total hours, which equates to about 20 hours per person, explain to me how we are all supposed to live when we're coming into one of the most important times of year and can't get scheduled more than 20 hours, Christmas and new years are both huge times of year and our employees are getting so stressed out that half of them either want to or are quitting and the other half is just so tired of this job and don't know what to do anymore and the only reason they keep going is because of the love they have for the job/company. Remember who keeps your money coming in
Desired outcome: Provide stores with more hours. My store needs the hours. Our employees have children and can't even afford to feed their kids and pay their bills much less feed themself
Nothing stocked on shelves
I dont know what is happening but the Dollar General on Main Street in Gardendale as well as the Dollar General on Mount Olive Road & the DG in Cordova, Alabama - never have anything in the shelves! There are carts all over the store from truck deliveries that are completely full of merchandise. Why aren’t they being stocked onto the shelves? I asked a worker at the Cordova, Al store if they were remodeling and he said “No.”. I asked him why there was absolutely nothing on the shelves and he said “I don’t know I just got here”. His answer tk all was “I don’t know.” I told him he should know why there are NO items on the shelves. Customers cannot buy anything because of employees like this guy and the female employee giving ridiculous excuses to justify why the store had no merchandise out as well as it being a complete and utter catastrophe. She said multiple trucks delivered in one day which is complete and total BS. Even if that were the case, getting it put on shelves was do-able. I see lazy, entitled, unmotivated employees. Wipe the slate and get rid of them all if necessary. Customers should be able to enter your stores and find at least one item on their list.
Desired outcome: Shelves should have merchandise on them. Not stacked in the large crates they are delivered on!
People quit working thinking to get more money from Biden and not happening lol
They living on welfare and unemployment check.Or maybe other jobs with better benefits and higher pays. Some Dollar General employees just slaving around talking to kill times to it’s time to leave. Some stores got 2 people working or just 1 person which is very dangerous not knowing who might be lurking in the stores no cameras on the outside on the buildings.Hired a stockers only to filled in those shelf’s full of foods and everything would be be better.
Lack of generic store brand items on shelves / forced major brand purchase / lack of bags for purchased items often
Since before the remodel of the DG store in Green, Oregon generic store brand food items have seldom, if ever, been available for purchase, forcing the purchase of more expensive brand names. That, along with the price hikes on what is available, makes shopping at this DG now almost as expensive as the Green neighborhoods other food shopping choice Ray's Food Place (which is notorious for its overly high prices. I shop at DG because I get good deals. But it seems that getting a good deal was just a temporary gimmick the store chain pulled on its customers, because now, I can sometimes find products at Ray's less expensive, like bread for instance.
I also have been put in the position of having to purchase cloth bags from the store because they were out of bags to bag my items. From what I understand, the management of these stores do not do the ordering, they are shipped what it is they get which is decided by whom or what? So I hold the corporation responsible for the lack of product on shelves as far as their brand goes and for the lack of bags to bag my purchases.
I am a very good customer, but if you do not care about "the little guy" anymore, I guess I will have to shop somewhere else or feel disrespected by your corporate people every time I shop at your stores.
Please figure out that your customer base is very loyal, and do not trade us in for more money, more money, more money.
Sincerely, Lisa Deland
Green Oregon, USA
Desired outcome: I would like the store brand items stocked as well as all dry foods and the prices a good deal. Please make sure there are bags. And do not blame the people who work at the store for this letter. They are not the problem.
Are you going to answer my complaint or try to make it right?
Maybe you could send a gift card to me, along with making sure
the dry food shelves are stocked with all suppliers' products, even
clover your brand. Bags for purchases also please, so I do not
have to purchase cloth bags for $2 again.

All restrooms are out of order at all stores??
Our 3 year old needed to use the restroom while shopping with me at a Dollar General. I was told their restrooms were broken, So I put down my items and left.
My 6 year old needed to use the restroom while at another Dollar General store and we were told the restrooms were not working. The 2 women working there were more concerned about the boxes of freezer pops they had hidden on a top shelf due to them being drastically reduced in price. So, I was forced to leave my shopping cart and leave to find a restroom.
What is wrong with this company? Money is being lost due to refusing to let customers use the perfectly good restrooms. I do not believe for one second that ALL the restrooms are suddenly broken in my area. So, what gives? I would like an answer that is believable. There really isn't a good explanation for not letting small children use a restroom when needed, it puts the child and parents in a very stressful situation just so the employees can be even lazier than they already are.
Desired outcome: OPEN UP THE RESTROOMS!!!!!!
Face mask press on nails
Was that Dollar General Rio Vista Texas trying to return an item that I had bought not even an hour prior had to have the same lady who sold me the product had the receipt in the lady denied me to return the product due to how she didn't feel I was talking to her but I gave her the same respect she gave me which was an attitude it wasn't her business why I wanted to return it as long as I had the receipt it was the wrong one and I wanted to return it and she told me to leave told me to get out of her store and denied me returning a product that I bought from your store that I had a receipt
Desired outcome: For the employer to know that the customer is always right I didn't steal nothing I didn't ask for anything I simply came in and asked for a return that I had a receipt for I would like the employee to be put on some kind of probation
snobby manager
I was in store 09705 and the lady at the checkout had to get the manager to remove some of my items , when she told the manager I didnt have enough on my food card, the manager [who had cheap blonde hair and bad makeup] gave me a dirty look . After I paid I heard her tell the cashier it figures she was on welfare, if the manager has a problem with welfare then she should work somewhere else. Dollar General has no problem taking my ebt
Desired outcome: tell manager to keep comments to herself
Fire Hazzard. Not enough room in isles
Went into the Dollar General on Saturday Oct 22nd 2022, in Valley City ND. now this store recently did a whole remodel thinking it would get better but no. Still are supply carts full in the isles. You can’t even push a cart down any isle. What a waste of money. If a fire started you might not get out. It’s hard to shop and get what you need when you can’t even see the shelves. New management is needed.
Incorrect pricing
On 10/ 2222 I visited my local Dollar General. Dollar General has advertised prices for products and when looking at receipt prices are higher than marked or advertised. For instance they advertised coke products buy 2 get one free. I was charged full price for all three 12 pks. Another drink body armour 1.25 receipt 1.40. I've been noticing this a lot when shopping there. I have been noticing this quite often when shopping there.
Desired outcome: That they quit falsifying prices. Let ppl know to check their receipts.
Dollar General continues to overcherge. Bought 2 boxes of glazed blueberry donuts on sale. Regular price $4.50, sale price showed $2.50. Charged $4.50 each. This continues to happen. Have to check my receit every time before I leave the checkout.
this is deceptive! i had the same prob at my DG. the way it is worded for coke 2lt. is 2 for 4$ buy 2 get one free buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut when you buy the 3 they go to normal price of 2.50 each which is 7.50 than they subtract 2.50 making 3 for 5$ instead of 2/4 or 3 for 4 which is how everyone reads it. so in reality your 3rd one is not free but 1$ more. It's not about the 1$ it's about how DG does business on a reg basics and why we drive 5 more miles to a store with fair pricing.
Went in to DG on Saturday to get 6 12pacs and use 5 dollar coupon they on sale for 3 for 13 so should be 26 minus 5 come out of store thinking wait a sec. charged 36 dollars so i say dont want them then so go through motions to get my card reimbursed havent seen a dime come back and i left sodas in store..2 days later Monday go in gonna get 3 for 12 dollars and Digit coupon for 2 dollars off charged 22 + dollars didnt see any money back on that either so in for close to 50 dollars and nothing to show for it. act like they cant help in store give me a number to take care of their screw ups.. wont be going back if nothing comes of this. R.Brown Madison,MN
Exactly. People don't realize when its the digital coupon, they can only be used once. Not several times for the same.transaction. Just like your example of the soda, the coupon only works for 1 set of the sodas, not for both, since there's only 1 coupon on the app not 2

The store was so destroyed it was hard for an elderly gentleman to shop. Because it was hard to move around with all the clutter. Our town does not have a grocery store. So this is many people's only option. The restroom was not stocked with sanitary products. Such as hand soap and paper towels. There was human excrement in the toilet. I tried informing Sharon, the cashier. When I approached her she completely ignored me. I then spoke louder and again I was ignored. So I stepped forward and spoke louder. Again I was ignored. At that point I realized I was becoming upset and walked away.
Desired outcome: Employee training on customer service with Sharon. Corporate unscheduled visit.
the whole store
the store # 12486 ever since covid the entire store in Astor Florida is awful the shelves are not stocked, and the only other store is expensive if you want to save money you have to travel 30 miles Astor is in the middle of the Forest and most people cannot afford to go to the next town, please do something or close the store the Astor store is very convenient for the residents it would be nice to have full shelves

Employee
I shop at DG in Weaver several times a week and take my grandkids there for toys every weekend. I was looking to buy my two grandkids a headset but couldn't find a price anywhere. I held the headset up and asked an employee named Rhonda how much it was. She replied, "I have no idea." She was standing about 12 feet from me just inside the doors. There were other customers there but no customers in line. She was not stocking or checking anyone out. She just stood there with her arms folded. I said, "Could you look it up for me?" She said, "I probably could." I took the headset to her and she grabbed it from me and made a loud sigh like I was on her nerves. She looked it up and gave me the price but said, "That may be the price or not. There is more than one kind over there." So I just put it back and took the kids to Walmart.
I think she was rude, inconsiderate, and very unprofessional, This treatment was uncalled for as well as unnecessary it pissed me off to be treated that way. I have shopped there for 10 years. I have not been back to the store except to find out her name. Rhonda.
I am now taking my kids to The Dollar Tree and to Ollies for their treats and for my weekly grocery jaunts until something is done.
Desired outcome: I would like this woman reprimanded and cautioned to treat customers with respect.
Incompetent customer support
Good day,
10/17/2022 I went to dollar general 5416 Rock Quarry Rd
Raleigh, NC 27610
United States
I requested that my change for my purchase be given with a smaller bill than I received. The representative rushed me and told me no. I kindly asked for the manager and she rudely threatened my safety. I’ve never been so appalled by a safety worker in my life. She attempted to assault me then attempted to call the cops for a simple request. I had no knowledge for the reason of escalation and felt that no manager should provide that level of service.
Desired outcome: Manager go through sensitivity training, to be Able to understand the community around her without raising to violence.
Store manager
I went in to get 3/12 packs of pepsi for $12 my grandson came in with meAnd picked up some candy corn when i went outside i looked at my bill when she charged me 32 dollars and change. So i left 4 grandkids in my truck to go get it resolved . Address of said store is 331 robbins ave. Now i will tell you i hate going into any of the niles dollar generals they are always rude but this is the cleanest one out of all. Aol.com. I do not want this young lady to lose her job or anything I just won’t be back because of my own one too many personal incidences I just want back but I’m entitled to all my money I do not have my receipt because by the time we got through with all of that I was frustrated I signed it I never got any money back I don’t know what she did if she ripped it up or what I’m still upset over the whole thing
Desired outcome: My 7.96 back
