Emotional distress
I was hired at Dollar General in 2011 as a part time cashier. I worked my way up to store manager. I've never had any write up or disciplinary action for anything. Never been late to work or closed the store early. I've been with the company for 9 years. March 2020 made 3 years as a store manager. In February 2020 my ASM was caught leaving the sages wide...

After several years of trying to overlook the madness, I've finally had enough. The store smells like [censored] and there is NEVER anything put away. If you want anything in that store you have to dig for it and or move carts out of the way. We are a small community and are very grateful for this convenience, however, it's worth the drive to go to a different...
Read full review of Dollar GeneralCondition of the store
It saddens me to see the store I once worked in many years ago in such horrific shape. It's truly disgusting. This is the very store that I managed and poured myself into. Lots of hard work, sweat, and even tears. I did so for 3 years and won awards for top sales, reduced shrink, and most recovered. Back then it was hard, and I still see the struggle today with cut payroll hours and less people in store to assist, clean, stock, etc. We had hourly recovery, accident prevention, customer service in the forefront of our minds ( and yes sales being top priority). I was proud of my store, and my customers noticed. It made them proud to shop there. I can tell you I have stopped shopping both of the DG's near me, because of the absolute filth. Most dig stores are cleaner! What a shame! My daughter recently purchased a home in Mt. Pleasant. (I have not been in this store for years. When people seen me that knew I had worked there, they would tell me had bad it had gotten again. I couldn't stand the idea of seeing it in that shape again after the work and sacrifice it took to get it out of that shape before. ) I had to pick up a few cleaning supplies. Unfortunately, this was the closet location. It will be worth the drive to elsewhere next time. The shelves nearly empty and the condition of the store was HEARTBREAKING! The store is intolerable and it angers me that this company doesn't show more respect for the community it is supposed to serve. Our communities deserve better! Please take notice and please clean up your stores. We deserve better! Your goal (even back when I was an employee) was to have a store every 10 mins or so. You are reaching your goal, but at what cost to the consumer and community in which you build? What kind of customer are you trying to attract? What will your success look like it your brand only becomes known as filth?
I have recently noticed this with several local stores. They are disheveled and dirty with bare shelves. I'm not talking about during this virus thing either. This has been the last six months or so. When I asked an associate (and there are only four that I know about) at the store I most frequent, they told me that their hours had been cut. The solution is simple (more hours, more people) but corporate isn't policing this. How can they? They've grown so rapidly there's no way to keep up. I guess the fat-cats at the top that make all the money from the thousands of stores are fine with things. But it really sucks. I used to love the store closest to my house (rural PA) but don't even like to go there anymore as it is always out of sorts, and usually only two people manning the place. Maybe it will all catch up and be nice again. But it's hard to see. I feel you! jh
Manager of the store Regina West & employee Annie Vann
Regina West the manager of the store is allowing an employee Annie Vann smoke marijuana while at work, she smokes it in the bathroom & goes behind the store on her breaks & smokes it.The front of the store has a very heavy smell of it.I addressed my concerns to the manager Regina but was told she didn't care what she did "because she can run a whole truck". I thought Dollar General was a drug free work place but apparently not at this one!
Store worker
Today February 27th at around 2:20 pm I entered your store at the same time as an elderly man on a cane. There was one buggy up front and before I could take 5 steps in the store I saw that the store had 6 buggies filled with store items . The elderly man ask if they had anymore and the clerk never looked up and said I don't know. I told the man apparently...

My daughter and I went to the store #14550 on 2/21/20. Seeing that there wasnt a cart available to use, I took a 24pk of bottled water to the front to see if I could leave it there while I did more shopping. The store is in disarray. There was 2 small children running around the store and going behind the register. The small boy nearly knocked me over when he ran around a corner. I put my items on counter at register and the boy ran to the woman behind counter. Calling her mama. Come to find out she is the manager of the store... She has been unfriendly and outright rude to me and my husband in the past and she was equally as rude at this encounter. It is unsafe and unprofessional to behave this way. Especially as a manager. We come here every year and my husband & I used to shop there a lot. Now we choose to spend more or drive farther to avoid this place of business.

I was driving east bound on State Route 22 in Ebensburg, PA on Friday, Februrary 14, 2020 at 8:32am (according to the time stamp on the picture I took of this truck driving). A Dollar General truck was swerving into the middle of the road, b/c he was driving in the passing lane and didn't want anyone to pass him. He was throwing cinders from the road onto all the vehicles around him and every time someone went to try and go around him, he would get into the middle of the road making it unsafe and unpassable to go around him. This driver needs to be held accountable for his actions. I could not get the license plate number b/c it was covered in snow, but the number on the back of the truck was "F5030". Please see the attached pic.
I can be reached at [protected] for further details.
advertising products and not ever carrying them
This company has a bad problem with not carring items advertised in a circular. For instance.. there trac-phones. Since the circular came out I went to 3 stores nearest to me, to purchase any 1 of the 2 advertised phones for $20.00. Each store said the same. They never got those 2 phones in. I ask.. then why is this circular in your store then? They don't...

I witnessed your store manager at rhe camden Michigan store heavily berate and employee to where the girl was in tears asking her to please stop speaking to her that way. Then watched your store employee physically touch said emploee. A few customers witnessed this and stepped in causing niki to ban people for trying to help that poor girl. She then fired the girl callin her really terrible names and said she would ruin her. The girl went to the break room to get her personal belongings while niki followed screaming "get the [censored] out of my store u stupid [censored]' the girl was crying and trying to call her husband for a ride home ans niki was in her face screaming get the [censored] out now while this poor girl was tryinf to get her purse and coat and then made her stand at the road and not safely in the parking lot. If this is how dollar general treats human beings i will be making sure that store is petitioned! That girl was a good night manager and was a very sweet girl she did not in no way deserve the way she was treated. After the girl was gone niki came back into the store and continued to tell every customer who came through rhat she fired the stupid [censored]. It was very unprofessional and illegal the way she was screaming in the girls face and pushin her out of the building. If nothing is done i will ho to the news station to let everyone know how employees who work 40 hours weeks are treated like trash. Your store manager has ran off 4 employees in 6 months! I will never shop there again and camden michigan is a small tight community and i happen to be sister in law with its mayor. This will not go away until it is resolved! Fix your store and that woman needs to apologize to fhe poor woman she fired today. Feburary 10 2020
