Lowe's Service

I was notified by Lowes via email that they are awarding me a $5 gift card thank you with a special Challenge code to enter to receive it. I have jumped thru every hoop they asked to receive but received nothing but aggravation and frustration. I called several times on a special phone number and got no where.They asked me for my email address then rudely hung up.Tried several times to call back and got no one answering. Lowes has done more harm than good for public relations with me in their customer service.I even stopped in while buying a refrigerator and spoke to store manager about this matter and said he sorry but he couldn't help me.Pretty sorry PR. Lowe's Lowes protection plan

Purchased a Washer Machine and protection plan in 2021. Washer Machine stopped working on or about October 4, 2023. Filed a claim with the Protection Plan department a third Party Assurant. It is now 11/27/2023 and several technicians attempts to fix washer machine it is still not working. according to lowes protection plan term and conditions they will replace if unable to fix. situation has gone unresolved. I still have a broken washer machine in my home and lowes or assurant has not backed the warranty that was sold to me.

Claimed loss: time of work over an 850 dollar washing machine.

Desired outcome: fix, replace or simply refund what was paid for the Washing Machine.

We are absolutely sorry for any frustration.

Assurant is a separate entity from that of Lowe's. Lowe's is happy to assist but the contract lies with Assurant.

Generally speaking, service technicians have three tries to servicing your unit. Each attempt can require two different service calls -- one to determine the problem, the second to complete the service.

Based upon those conditions, tell us how many service calls have been done and what the status is.

Lowe's warranty

purchased a Samsung gas stove from lowes with a extended warranty that i paid for. The stove broke and could not be used. Went 8 weeks without a cook stove waiting for a repair. Lowe’s and the warranty company . The warranty co. Was overseas. In a different country. Called lowes about 10 times and just got the run around with people and recordings. Same with the warranty co. We ended up purchasing another stove from a different company. The broken stove never got fixed and never recieved a refund. It has been 8 months with no reply.

Lowe's Appliances

We purchased a Whirlpool dishwasher on November 4, 2023 from the location on Holland Rd in Va Beach using our Lowes credit card. We brought it home, installed it and it was defective. We called the store and was told we only had 48 hours to return since we declined the extended warranty so we would have to call and work with the manufacture. I also called the store and asked for a manager and was hung up on several times. I finally got through and spoke to Nick who told me the same thing. I called your office on 11/13 and spoke to Erin who said that since we used the credit card, we had 30 days. It is now 11/15 and still no word. Firstly this was not explained to us when it was purchased. Secondly, your staff should have known this. I have also notified the credit card company that not one dime would be paid. I also posted this on social media.

Exchange the dishwasher or return it so we can purchase one somewhere else.

Desired outcome: Lowes needs to pick up this dishwasher and deliver a new one

We are sorry for any miscommunication.

By contract, most appliance manufacturers only allow Lowe's to accept a returned item within 48 hours from the time the unit was transferred to the customer's ownership. After which the manufacturer handles all issues directly. This policy is posted in every location and on the Lowe's website. The form of payment does not alter this policy. Additionally, Lowe's has agreements with all major credit cards in order to protect and assist in such situations.

With all of that stated, we do not want to see you without needed help in assuring that your dishwasher performs as expected. The unit is still under the manufacturer's one year-limited warranty. You may contact them at 1 /866 /698 /2538.

Please let us know if that doesn't take care of your concerns.

We'd like to clarify. The form of payment does not change the policies or return/exchange timeframe.

Lowe's has contracts in place with most appliance manufacturers. Once the 48 hour timeframe has placed, Lowe's allows the service system handle any issues. This policy is placed upon Lowe's website and all Lowe's locations.

Lowe's also has contracts with all major bankcards. You may dispute any transaction of course. In such cases, the retailer is required to cease any other communication.

Lowe's Water heater

I went to buy a water heater at Lowe's they said I had to go get the measurements. So I went back home got the measurements came back they said they had to have somebody come out to my place, an installer, to take the measurements and get what product I needed. I kept asking how much was this going to cost they said not much but they didn't know until after they installed it. I had to help him install it because it was too much for him to pick up. I'm a 67-year-old woman I picked it up he slit it into place was easy peasy. Still kept asking how much. $700 plus was installation fee. The water heater was only $600

Claimed loss: I don't even think it should have been over $300 because he was only there for an hour and a half and he took two smoke breaks I would like $300 back

Hi Ms Selbe.

We appreciate hearing from you. Unfortunately the majority of costs in getting a new water heater is the installation.

Earthquakes straps and a new expansion tank are usually required. It's also possible the city or county you're in may require a permit. All those costs add up. Add in the labor and you can understand why the price becomes what it is.

Lowe's 80 Volt Kobalt battery

Unable to obtain a replacement 80 volt Kobalt battery that was included in my packaged trimmer and blower purchase three years ago. Lowe's deferred, citing Kobalt would NOT 'permit' an exchange. I had to contact Kobalt/Lowe's directly. Through no less than four additional contacts and eight days later, my request was denied in whole as I couldn't produce a receipt. (The package was a father's day gift from my wife and children.) They requested photos of both the battery and my trimmer. I complied. Long story short, based on the 'manufacture date', they were not compelled to oblige me. I offered that a 'in- service' date vs. a 'manufacture date' would seem the logical guide. Totally disregarded my suggestion. However, they Did "offer" that I now contact a fifth location in order that THEY MIGHT help produce a receipt. WHY?

I was provided a customer service reference number of 4640033. I have the e-mail 'chain' of these events if you'd prefer. Please advise.

Claimed loss: $125 (?) It should be noted I do NOT desire return monies. I simply need a replacement 80 volt battery in order that my implements are not rendered useless.

Desired outcome: PLEASE send me a 'new' 80 volt Kobalt battery!!

Thoroughly confused by your response! Did ANYONE bother to read, in it's entirety, my actual concerns?

As earlier noted, the battery in question is a (larger) Kobalt 80 volt battery provided in a packaged purchase of a leaf blower and weed trimmer (by the same name). It's approximately the size of a small cassette player. There MOST CERTAINLY IS a manufacturer's warranty cited by both Lowe's AND Kobalt! This is NOT, repeat NOT, a battery for a "razor or ink cartridge or a printer"! What an abject foolish and silly response!

The concern is with the time frame regarding the date of manufacture vs. the in-service date. Further, due to a NOW KNOWN "Reliability concern", Kobalt/Lowe's has NOW discontinued selling the 80 volt battery. (I'm told they still possess a supply for warranty concerns.)

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE have someone that can review my earlier complaint and respond in a meaningful and resourceful manner; NOT with a condescending return as was tendered! Lowe's and Kobalt are about to lose a VERY long standing and enormous dollar spending customer! Will you finally help and send me a replacement 80volt Kobalt battery at no additional charge, PLEASE?

We're very sorry that you found our response confusing. It was not intended to be perplexing in any form.

Be assured that we were happy to respond to your further concerns. By no means do we want to come across as unsympathetic. Unfortunately, the repose is not being posted.

Batteries, both large and small, are considered a consumable. It's assumed that any product one might purchase, that is battery powered, will eventually require battery replacement. If you'll consult your owners manual, you'll notice it specifically is not part of the product's warranty. In order to obtain a new battery, we posted a couple of links to guide you. Be assured they're readily available at rather reasonable prices.

Whereas you seen to enjoy your Kobalt products, purchase a new replacement battery or even have your current one(s) rebuilt. There's no reason for you to continue to enjoy your fine products.

Please know we're very concerned of your continued happiness.

You haven't listed the exact model(s) of products you're searching for, so that makes it somewhat difficult to address the issue directly. However, from the warranty section of Kobalt tools owners manual, "This guarantee does not cover damage due to abuse, normal wear, improper maintenance, neglect, unauthorized repair/alteration, OR EXPENDABLE PARTS AND ACCESSORIES expected to become unusable after a reasonable period of use." You are right that this is NOT a razor or printer but it still utilizes expendable pieces such as that of the batteries. Batteries do not last forever. They have a limited use and need to be replaced on occasion. It sounds like this is one of those instances.

If you'll go to https://www.kobaltofficial.com/ you'll find an assortment of batteries and ways of contacting Kobalt directly with any questions.

If you'd rather, you can buy the item second-hand as NOS (new old stock) on sites like eBay or Amazon. This is one example:

Batteries, like the one you're referring to, is considered an expendable item -- somewhat like a razor blade for a razor or ink cartridge for a printer. It is not something covered under the manufacturer's warranty, let alone, three years.

Lowe's Delivery of the item I purchased.

I purchased a stove in the early part of October and my delivery was supposed to be on 10/30 from 11:00AM-3:00PM, but I decided to call around 2:00pm to make sure it's on track to arrival. Then I was told there was an accident on the Turnpike and all deliveries were cancelled. I was not happy with the lack of communication. I got a text the day before letting me know that it's as scheduled so I assumed everything was planned accordingly. Not only did I feel I had to wait at least over 2 weeks for the item, but now this situation. I am very disappointed. It's rescheduled for today from 9:30am to 1:30pm and hopefully it's taking place. It's now 12:24pm.
