new car tires - neverending computer problems for customer service!
Purchased a 2018 Ford Explorer in April 2018 at Marston Motors, Minoqua, WI. The tires wore out before the tire warranty period. We were promised a 30% discount off the price of new tires at, one point, if I purchased them from a Ford dealler. Phone #[protected]. When the dealer called the number supplied for verification of discount it was denied. Guess they changed their minds, no one called us with this information. Dealer was nice enough to give us a partial discount on the tires. However, my husband and I don't know how the tires were not defective if they prematurely wore out. Even the tire manufacturer said the tires needed to be replaced but wouldn't prorate the tires either. EVERYTIME my husband calls he is imformed to return the call in 3 hours since the computers were down? No a supervisor wouldn't be able to help as their computers are down too! Sorry but we've owned Fords for the full 50 years we've been married. Felt sorry for people who didn't buy Fords. Changed our minds! Frank and Nancy Sevcik
driver door ajar signal remains on even when door tightly closed
This problem started a couple of weeks ago. In researching the issue, I found that MANY 2011-2017 Ford vehicles have had the same problem. Why hasn't FORD issued a recall for this? The indoor light remain on, so one cannot drive at night when the Door Ajar signal is on because of safety issues. I've read that people have paid as much as $600 to repair it. I don't have $600. I'm 64 years old and on a fixed income. I wanted to keep my 2011 Ford Edge as long as I could as I love this car. I've had many FORD's during my lifetime and up until now I have been satisfied. However, this issue is causing me to check into selling this car and purchasing another, and definitely NOT a Ford because I would be afraid of having this issue occur in another of your vehicles.
Please reconsider putting out a recall on this problem so that me and hundreds of others can just go and have it repaired the correct way.
transmission shudder on ford focus 2014
I purchased 2014 focus from DePaula Ford in Albany ny two years ago. it had 27000 miles at purchase. not long after, it started to shudder when shifting gears. this problem has persisted on an intermittent basis ever since. I had previously asked DePaula about the issue, and was told it was normal transmission operation. I have now received a letter from Ford, saying they would replace the clutch to repair this problem. Brought car to DePAULA service appointment to repair this problem. The letter I received states clearly that the shudder is intermittent, and the clutch is the problem. After looking at the car, service dept. stated they wouldn't replace the clutch, because the shudder didn, t seem enough. they said quote"some people can't even drive the car because the shudder was so bad" I am a dialysis patient, and can't keep going back to DePaula til they think this problem is "bad enough". They know this is an intermittent issue, and I would like this resolved.

To whom it may concern,
I, Charie Tenorio purchased a 2013 Ford Focus 5Dr Sport* 2.0L A/T (VIN MPB1XXMXB1CY14571 and engine no. CY14571). In November 2018, Ford recalls the said vehicle service advisor Faner, Mike for Powertrain & overhauling engine at Ford Manila Bay Matterhorn Motors Inc.. Ford replaced what was needed...
This September 2019 while turning to a fastfood area drive thru, suddenly the steering did not responded well. It seems the steering wheel has difficulty in turning. The dashboard warning signal turns own with a message, steering assist malfunction. We tried everything like turning the engine off and on for several minutes. Nothing happened, still difficult to maneuver. The very next day we brought the vehicle to Ford Alabang, Dearborn Motors Co, Inc at Alabang - Zapote Rd., Filinvest Corporate City Alabang/Muntinglupa Cpo, Philippines phone (02) 842-3681 Fax (02) 8424628 and email info@deardonmotors.com. They diagnosed it having the power steering assembly to be replaced. My concerns is why did the power steering assembly failure occur for a 2013 assembly and only 46, 000 kilometers and not miles. This vehicle is used in short distances and oly once for long drive. For these short distances, vehicle should not have major repairs. The assembly itself is causing me $2, 600 including labor. The vehicle if sold, it will cost around $8600, It does not justify for it seem almost the same cost as the transmission. My concerns are why produce product that will reduce less parts to replace but extremely difficult to replace, maintain and very expensive...Can Ford help the concumers on this concerns...
Respectfully yours,
Charie Tenorio
service charge.
I am the owner of a 2009 Ford F-250 diesel lariot. Has been a great vehicle. 80, 000 miles with no problems. Recently engine warning light came on and I am being advised that in 2012 a service notification was sent out regarding recalibration of engine to prevent loss of power under moderate work. This was obviously a manufacturing defect however was never sent to owner's only to dealers. I am now being told I have to pay $250 for the recalibration because I did not get it done during warranty period. I am also being told it might lead to greater problems which will require a much more expensive fix . How were owner's supposed to know about this recalibration before truck started giving problems. This should be treated as a recall and any problems associated with it should be covered under such. I am appalled that a company my family has purchased cars for for over 70 years could be so underhand in providing customer service. I would like to be contacted at [protected]@aol.com regarding this matter or called at [protected]. My name is Fergus.
alternator
I own a 2017 Expolorer Limited so far pretty happy with it. Little under powered.
I worked for ford as a mechanic for many years and always thought you did get more for your money with a ford I also have ford trucks. Was thinking about buying the new 2020 Explorer but i have changed my mind. Yesterday I had to replace the alternator on the 2017 explorer with 52, 000 miles $875.00 I find it really had to believe that Ford doesn't have the know how to make an alternator last longer than 52, 000 miles.
I have friends who own Toyota Highlanders who have put over 300, 000 on them and never put an alternator in one. The Valient was the first to use an alternator in American cars the 70's and 80's I can understand 52, 000 miles today there is no excuse.
This is really not about the money or inconvinence but the disappointment in Ford.
I thought you were better than that.

Basil Green Ford Greenstone. I went there to purchase a 2019 new ranger, they promise to call back Monday, but dont, I follow up, nothing. I thus go buy the vehicle at a different Ford dealership. Then I order a bonnet guard from Ford Greenstone and pay for the part, they say it will be there in 2 days. Over a month later, no communication, no part. After endless calls to them I am informed the part has arrived I can come through. I drive through immediately from the other side of town. I get there, I'm told they need to fit the part themselves, but the workshop doesn't have capacity, I should come back. I call the Saterday, leaving message after message to return my call, they dont. I persist and finally reach the workshop, they dont have capacity. I explain what I have been through and ask for the dealer principle Gary Manser at #supergroup #ford #fordsouthafrica #basilgreen #fordbasilgreen #fordinternational. They say its Saterday he isn't in I need to call Monday. After expressing my frustration the service manager then says if I can be there in 20 minutes she will make a plan. I'm there in 20, she is clearly not in the mood for me, tells me to go to parts myself and bring her the part. I get it, the mechanic then says the Ford product doesnt fit on the Ford. The parts guy later says its nonesense, they have fit it on all their own vehicles. The service lady walks to the parking lot where several staff members is having a BBQ. She speaks to someone, comes back and tells me they can't do it now, . Its 30 minutes before their closing time, Its a bonnet guard, it clips on. I again ask for the dealer priciple, and am told its him she just spoke to. Strange, l was then lied to being told he wasn't there. So they would rather braai then help. I drove around to the used-card section, ask if there is someone more senior, no its Gary, same one who is too busy socializing with his staff to help me. I ask for a credit so I can again go to another dealer, but is told Gary needs to sign it off, so I leave in frustration. I call later to speak to Carmen who.was the only professional person there, leave a message, Gary calls back and is suddenly unaware of it all and didnt understand why I sped off. What a joke, I guess they can keep the part, and use the money for their next very important staff gathering.
2016 ford explorer
Have 13000 miles on my 2016 Ford Explorer the power steering rack and pinion went. A $2400 fix for the price of this car I have had many recalls, had to replace the hood because of rust, the battery and cables all had to be replaced because of corrusion. If you buy a ford get a extended warranty. You will need it! When the warantee ran out so did the steering. Never buy another ford!
Holy crap ! Us too - total nightmare lost complete control while driving a few weeks FORD refuses to fix this non wear and tear issue - it’s a TOTAL safety issue

2017 ford escape
AS of today my ford escape has been towed in 3 times since June for the same problem . I HAVE BEEN TOLD NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THIS VEHICLE...
It over heats after driving 500 ft and the bells and alarms go off and the motor shuts down.
All I am told is Nothing is Wrong! . Ford is having many issues with the Escapes and putting New Motors in, and they should be Recalling this Vehicles. Its time for FORD to step up to their customers and make this right! Service Depts can only do what the Ford Motor Co tells them to do.
So Everyone out there, its time to file these complaints and stand behind each other.
f 150 f250
I have a 34' 7500lb travel trailer and needed a tow vehicle, everyone told me that the 150 twin eco boost would do the job. So I went to Backster Ford and talked to Ron, who seemed to be pretty informed. When I told him what I had and the problems I had with my Suburban, the constant swaying, he assured me that I would not have these problems and the F150 would do a great job. We bought a brand new 2019 F150 lariat and took it from Omaha to Lexington NE straight down the interstate about 170 miles. WOW what a trip from hell this trailer swayed and swerved all the way there and back, worse than my suburban ever did. Now being a retired truck driver I was concerned but not panicked. My wife was [censored]ting bricks she was so scared. and the fuel mileage was atrocious at only 6.1 down from 18 in town. What a terrible disappointment this was. So I called the salesman and he never called me back. So I called around to the camper salesman and the camper company and they both said I was trying the impossible pulling something that big with a 150. They also said that any truck salesman should know these facts about pulling camper trailers this sizes, and which vehicle will do the best job. I put my faith in a salesman, wow did I screw up big time. So I went to Woodhouse Ford in Omaha and traded for a F250 lariat brand new. Little did I know that the new Super Duty was going to be a super disappointment. In my life I have had 150, 250, 350, and 550. In fact my 550 had the diesel and it got 12 mpg in town pulling a 20, 000 lb. skid loader, trailer. My 250 has the 6.2 gas engine what a piece of crap. Its gutless, it has terrible acceleration. The mileage is by far the worst I have ever had on any vehicle in my life for in town diving at just over 10.5 mpg. WHAT? are you serious, and I now drive this like an old lady coming out of church to help save fuel. Not only is it terrible on fuel but it also the roughest riding truck I have ever had. The steering is hard and it drifts all over the place.. This is not a truck you can relax in for sure.
Now the most f$#@ed part is you made this truck so high, it does not fit in a standard garage. I had to cut the weathering on the garage door just to get this piece of crap in the garage, and I only have 2 to 3 inches between the bumper and the garage door.
I really wish I would have bought the Chevy 2500, and I know I wouldn't have any of these problem. Now I will admit pulling the camper is super great, rock solid no sway my wife drives this, and is very comfortable pulling the camper.
If I could I would trade this 2 weeks ago to Chevy, but I had to spend an extra $5000- for the exchange, which I felt the first salesman should have refunded me for lying to me, wow what a rip. Now I am stuck with this junk for the next few years and I am counting down the days I get out of this nightmare.
WHY does this get such terrible mileage in town, I see on the internet that a lot of them are getting 13 to 14, and I would take that in a heartbeat and live with the other problems this thing has.
Now we are taking a 3500 mile trip next month, and from the last time we pulled this camper with the 250 we got only 6.3 mpg, that seems to be the magic number when pulling a trailer with a Ford. I was hoping for at least 10. People in campsite swear there getting 12 to 15 on the highway with there 250 pulling equal size trailer. Why did I get the worst of what you sell twice.
I will never ever buy another ford never in my life, and my wife has had your fusion which was a great little car but no more. Now I know you guys could give a left [censored] about my problems but maybe if you get a few of these type of letters maybe, just maybe you might do something about all of your so called advancements, especially the height, I know I am not the only person who couldn't get there 250 in a standard garage. The only thing I can say nicely about this truck is, it is very good looking, I got the ruby red and have had comments on it for the short time I have had it.
I am looking so forward to our long trip next month but am having nightmares on the mileage especially when we get into California where gas average is $3.65 and I pay at home $2.19 a gallon. Maybe with a little luck some [censored] will run into me and total the truck, then I can buy the proper vehicle for what I need. Keep your fingers crossed.
Sure hope somebody reads this

Read full review of Fordextended warranty
I just had my 2015 Flex limited in the shop for repair of a brake line that was leaking profusely. It is covered under an extended warranty that we purchased through Ford when we purchased the car on 11/7/2015 from Gary Crosley Motors.
When I read the warranty it says that it covers brake lines. The shop foreman at Pettijohn Motors in Bethany, Mo says that when he puts the part number in the computer it won't take it and says that it isn't covered.
So instead of having a $100 bill to pay I have a $216.88 bill.
This seems to be a "tell the customer one thing and do another". It reads one way to the customer but that is not the way Ford Motor Company intended for it to work.
This was not a cheap warranty when I bought it . This is disappointing to say the least.

I leased a Ford Edge on April 2 2019, at the time of signing the lease my wife asked the salesman if he would take her 2015 Jeep compass in and finish up the last two months payments. He responded I'll take it from you.
We signed the lease agreement, which by the way I do not have a copy of, the salesman asked for the keys to the Compass. He took the keys and drove off with the car. Soon to find out I still owe 2 months on the old lease and now there is a bill for damage to the car. I called the Ford dealer and explained that there was no damage when I turned the car in because it had just come out of the auto body shop. I then noticed Ford had my Jeep Compass for a month before they turned it in. I spoke with the manager of the dealership and he said they did me a favor and held my Jeep until it was picked up by Fusion the leasing company. The manager argued with my wife and I stating they would not pay for anything. I am currently in collections for the return fee of $400 and body damage of $300.
I paid off the remaining 2 months payments but still owe return fee and body damage they caused. The Ford dealership is "Stevens 112" in Medford, NY . The manager I spoke to was Paul. He was rude and not willing to help or take blame for the damage. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They are not doing a good job representing Ford and making happy customers. The total bill is $760.38
tire
Was at Bill Brown Ford on August 19 To replace a tire on the passenger front side and had to go back on September 3 for the same tire, It doesn't make since. I am very upset and will not get a car here ANYMORE. Thank God I have tire protection. No one seem to care. I had to leave work in order to take care of this matter again. Something should be done instead of me just keep coming in and get it replace.
2017 ford escape - engine failure and replacement
CAS -[protected]
Engine replacement- Dangerous Unsafe situation on 2017 Ford Escape 1.6L engine. Parts on backorder; and my vehicle is at the local dealer. Vehicle under warranty.
I would very much like to speak with a live person, rather than voicemail. The first voicemail left for me was so garbled and unclear, when I tried to return the call as requested that same day, the return extension was incorrectly provided. Can someone from Ford Customer Service/Escalations PLEASE return a phone call to discuss the issue and my case with me?
