Return but not refunded
We ordered an Incubator which was faulty. Returned it on the order. Was send another one. Miss communication, didn't want one again. Return it again on the order. At that time got problems with my brand new phone, couldn't get emails set up. Phone still in for repairs. Bought an Heating Brooding Plate in the meantime aswell. Also faulty, doesn't heat up. Still waited on Takealot to collect the Incubator. Takealot came to our resident 3 times... with wrong info about product to collect. By the time I've been so irritated, been wasting so much of my time waiting every day for wrong return... from 2nd May till 18th May. Returned the Heating Brooding Plate aswell on order. Eventually Takealot pitch on the 18th May @ 13h11 to collect both Incubator and Heating Brooding Plate. Got refunded for Incubator, but still waiting on refund for Heating Brooding Plate. I'm very disappointed and run out of patience by now. Can I please get refunded my R700 asap. Thanks C.Coetzee [protected]

I paid for and placed an order for 3 items and was promised next day delivery.
2 items were collected and the 3rd was MIA. Got notification the next day it was ready for collection went there and again MIA. They phoned the helpdesk and having an argument that it was there but was not. The 3rd day it is still MIA but will be ready for collection somewhere in SA but they are not sure what depot. This is the efficiency of Takealot. Still no sign of refund as requested so I can buy it from a more reliable supplier. They have my funds I have no product and they have the attitude you will get it when it arrives.

placed my order on the 19th of May 2023, received my order on the 26 May 2023. When I open the boxes, I found 2 (TWO) left shoes.
29 May I have logged for return collection, and it was scheduled for 30 May.
since then, I just receive messages stating that my return has been delay it will be rescheduled. Called customer care on Monday 5 June, the consultant logged another collection for me, but still they did not come to collect.
please assist as this matter is frustrating.
Desired outcome: I would like to get a prompt service and get my shoes exchanged before the 30 days return period.

Hi I am utterly disgusted by Takealot. I am a seller on their portal as well as a client. I sent an inverter to a client in January. Had it returned for an utterly bogus reason. Then Takealot proceeded to loose the inverter. Now 5 months later and still I have not been refunded for this and they still haven’t located the item. I also had an exception on hard drives that were delivered to them. First off they said all 4 didn’t have labels on after a huge fight they came back and said 3 had stickers on which is utter nonsense. This was in march. I sent a courier to collect the hard drive only to be told they didn’t have it. This was in march it is now June and still no hard drive. We print there labels for on their system but we get bogus exceptions. When we complain about it or ask for proof we are ignored. No one ever sorts a complaint out they give u the run around. The cherry on the cake and a a network card that was ordered. Its dues date was on the 6 June it was delivered on the 6 June as per the instructions. However on the 6 June Takealot changed the order number of the item that they had in stock with them. Now 2 days later this item is lost apparently. How can you loose and item in 2 days? Why was the order number changed? And they don’t care they just blame the seller. We deal with gross incompetence and I’ll trained staff and we literally have to pay the price of this. They don’t take accountability for anything and they cost us thousands of rands.
Desired outcome: Payout for all lost stock. And hopefully train staff better also since if it weren’t for the sellers takealot I I’ll not be around so better client service
Bad service and client disrespect by employee

I am writing to express my deep disappointment and concern regarding an incident that occurred at the Takealot Collection Center in Durban, specifically involving an employee named Phumulani Hadebe. I believe it is essential to bring this matter to your attention to ensure that appropriate action is taken and to prevent any similar incidents from happening in the future.
During my recent visit to the collection center on 02 June 2023, I encountered an unfortunate confrontation with Mr. Hadebe. I pressed the bell more than once because there was no feedback or response initially, and I needed assistance. In response, Mr. Hadebe shouted at me in a disrespectful manner, using a condescending tone. He asked me if I could not read the sign indicating that I should not press the bell more than once.
When I inquired about his behaviour and why he was shouting at me, Mr. Hadebe mentioned that his manager, Reece, had also shouted at him regarding the bell not to let the clients press more than once. While I understand that there may have been previous incidents related to the bell, it is unacceptable for an employee to vent their frustrations on customers in such an unprofessional and disrespectful manner.
As a loyal customer of Takealot, I believe in maintaining a positive and respectful relationship between the company and its customers. The behavior displayed by Mr. Hadebe has left me feeling disrespected and undervalued as a customer. It is disheartening to witness such behavior from an employee who represents the company's image and interacts directly with customers.
I kindly request that you investigate this matter thoroughly and take appropriate disciplinary action against Mr. Hadebe for his unprofessional conduct. Additionally, I urge you to provide additional training and guidance to all employees at the Durban collection center to ensure that incidents like this do not recur in the future. It is crucial that your employees understand the significance of providing excellent customer service and maintaining a respectful environment for all customers.
I hope you will address this matter promptly and take the necessary steps to rectify the situation. I value my relationship with Takealot and believe that resolving this issue will contribute to enhancing the overall customer experience at your collection center in Durban.

The advertisement states that when I buy the item on the Takealot App I will get discount. But as soon as I add the item to my cart the price is increased.
Then when I try to pay on my mobile app with my Takealot App Standard Bank asks me to scan QR Code which I have not set up on my phone and which is impossible anyways while I'm busy using your Takealot App on my mobile phone at the same time.
Desired outcome: Please give me discount on your mobile app like you promise. Please give me other payment options like credit card as well.

I bought the above product and it was delivered on the 24/05/2023, and as I was using it for the first time on the 28/05/2023 Saturday. It turned on nicely and it was working well, after like 5 mins it started burning. I tried to close it on that valve but it couldn’t close, it just became lose, we then tried to use water to stop the fire but the fire couldn’t stop, we then took it outside the house and all of a sudden there was fire everywhere. The community came out to help us stop the fire, people came with buckets, like a 100 people came out to help. We used soil, we used wet blankets but still the fire couldn’t go off. People sacrificed their blankets as we needed a lot of them and soil, the fire stopped after like an hour. As I tried to move my car away from the yard it hit the gate and it got damaged. My partner got burnt. Everyone was just scared and traumatised as well. What ever went wrong on that gas cylinder really did too much damage for me. As I speak we have no blankets left. And I have to buy other people’s blankets as well. Please kindly check them before selling them to people for safety, as it nearly kill Us as well.

Good Evening, I received my order today from Takealot, my order was delivered wrapped in cling wrap, not in a box and squashed as a result of not been packaged correctly, I am not happy. This was meant to be a gift for my child for her birthday but because of it been delivered squashed and wrapped in cling wrap, her surprise was also ruined. This was the first time I have ordered from Takealot and will be the last time.
Desired outcome: What a reason why I received my goods like this.
Returns complaints
I’ve bought a Deco Pro M XP Pen and which requires better PC specs, so I decided to buy PC components from them and now this very same pc components needed more equipment in order to function so I logged a return for the Deco XP Pen in order to buy a graphics card. The return has been rejected due to the number of days that have exceeded of 30 days however I managed to return an item which was within the 6 months period and a disclaimer about these rule were never mentioned to me via the app. Lastly they sent me a message saying that they’ll let me know about what steps to take and the haven’t I had to call they then to find out that the products have been rejected.
Desired outcome: I would like to exchange the XP Pen for a smaller version and buy a graphics card with the remaining money.
Defective hp laptop
I purchased an HP laptop from Takealot on the 12th of March. Within 60 days, the laptop was shutting down by itself whilst I was working and would struggle to restart. Takealot has no contact number for their Returns department and you are only referred via their website to very generic info. I then contacted HP, who advised me that the product was under their warranty policy and that they would dispatch a technician to assist. The technician replaced the screen and power cable, but within an hour it had the same problem as before. HP once again dispatched another technician a few days later to then replace the system board. This did not work and I was advised that further spares needed to be ordered. I logged a return ticket with Takealot as I could not continue to wait like this. I have a small business and was losing income not having a device. Takealot collected it and it was packaged and protected in its original packaging. I attached 2 reports from HP showing that the device was defective and had no signs of physical damage. The last report was dated the 17th of May 2023. The device was collected from my residence on the 18th of May. I was then informed by Takealot that my return request was declined because it has unauthorized repairs and it was also damaged on the outside? I replied to them to advise that it was not unauthorized repairs. The manufacturer handled it. I also advised them that it left my premises undamaged and in a sealed box. Now I sit with a physically damaged device and one that doesn't work. Furthermore, I had to purchase another laptop through Takealot in the interim, as I cannot afford not to work.
I urgently appeal for assistance.

Dr Pen M8 Ultima
I purchased the Dr Pen M8 which came with 2x 16 pin needle cartridges on the 7th of April 2023. It worked perfectly the first time, however, became faulty when trying to use it the second time. I logged the return on the 7th of May but they declined the return and sent the Item back to me as they said that the Dr pen was missing the 2x16 pin needle cartridges. They also ripped and damaged the box during their evaluation. I have explained multiple times since then that the 16 pin cartridges are disposable single use items which I have already used and disposed of. My Dr Pen also came with a 6 month warranty which I feel Takealot is not honoring. I also logged the return within 30 days of receiving the item. The matter has been escalated 3 times since then with no positive outcome.
Desired outcome: Faulty Item to be replaced.
Air Fryer
I just bought a airfrier that's on special and I've paid for it with my card. The message that was supposed to come through to my phone number with a code didn't come through but money has come out from my bank account.
This item was sold online where I had to answer 3 questions and after that I had to click 3 boxes, of which one of them had an airfrier. I did that and the 2nd box revealed an airfrier which was os special for €4.99 which was R39.00 South African currency. I followed all the steps and filled in my bank card details. Now I'm worried that it may be a scam. I have bought online items from Takealot before and everything went well.

FNB card delivery
Takealot is asking for ID, 3rd party ID and contact details. It means nothing my card was delivered to a shop not the name of bushiness or delivery address. Will follow up with bank, hope the bank follow up on this. Unacceptable! The driver just said when he phoned. The surname is the same. My card is not for any Larry on street. As said will follow up with bank. Surly takealot personal cant find the right address. Google aren't complicated.

Defy dishwasher
HI,
I am a regular online shopper of Takealot since 2012. I make most of my purchases of just about everything I need from Takealot weekly. Last week Friday the 10th of May I purchased a Dishwasher which when received the next day (11th) was damaged and had defects. 1. Dent on the top right corner of the door, the dent is significate enough that a bulge had resulted on the side of the dishwasher door. 2. Top and side panels of the dishwasher was misaligned, over lapped or had gaps where the corners panels met. The machine seemed to be badly manufactured unit or poorly handled. I was willing to put up with these defects as I did not want to deal with the hassle of a return but was informed by Takealot that the warranty would be void of I kept a damaged item. I requested for a return and refund on the 12th . The machine was picked up on the 15th and since being in "evaluation" despite the glaring defects to the machine. Takealot I not want a replacement or for a new machine to be repaired. Refund me simply please. Buying appliances from Takealot is a gamble and this poor experience will definitely get me to think more than twice before buying from Takealot again.
I have provided photo evidence of the damage / defects of the machine please stop delaying and refund my money. I do not want a replacement or repair.

Your driver tried to overtake me while inwas busy turning.. I indicated and he still try to overtake me on the wrong side of the road in Trichardts street. A police officer was on the scene. He has no papers on him to show he is allowed to drive in south africa. He has no valid driver license only a paper copy that is invalid to drive with according to the Empd on scene. I have logged the accident with my insurance. You need to get in touch with me as you will be liable for the excess and payment of damage to my car.

Refund not processed
My order was placed on the 24th of March - it has been a nightmare dealing with Takealot. I have spoken to so many people and it seems like nobody is capable of resolving this.
I have spoken to a total of 21 call centre agents. I was credited for 2 of my items. Takealot still owes me R109 for 1 item.
Now it is not about the money but of Takealot's unethical business practice. They update the system to say that I collected the item but in fact, I did not receive the QR code. How many R109.00 orders have not been credited back to their customers? This is daylight robbery.
Takealot must be taken to task for their lack of customer service!

On the 25 of April I put a order in for the amount of R4778 by takealot and the delivery date was on the 12 of May. I didn't receive my goods I send 2 email to Takealot to find out why they didn't deliver my goods and no one answer me back. Then on the 12 of May I foned the call centre and I spoke to Fabain and he said he will found out what the problem is and will come back to me On Monday the 15 of May I foned again and spoke to Otagain and he said the same Till now nobody had come back to me or my goods is still not delivered my order nr is [protected]

I have placed an order at take a lot for a cellphone as i've been robbed on the 29.04.2023. When the package arrived, the cellphone was not in the package instead there was a lip balm & facial cream! I then logged a return & was advised the investigation will take place within 3 days. Take a lot then collected the lip balm & facial cream. Iv been calling every day for the past three days, every person I speak to requires me to give the history over & over again, they agents tell me the same story over & commit in calling me back & giving me response. They don't let me know at all & it basically repeats every day! I have not recieved help from the agents at take alot. I then called in this morning & a lady by the name of tebatso who was helpful ensured me that I will be getting a refund as the phone I ordered in white color is no longer in stock! I would like to log a complaint against take alot for the stress & anxiety they have put me through not only for the incorrect package but also for the amount of money iv paid & theres no guarantee I will get the funds back into my acocunt. On the 25 April 2023 I placed an order with Takealot. Paid via Instant EFT with PayFast. Days passed without anyone knowing where my money is. On the 3rd of May - PayFast sent me a payment confirmation email, which I then forwarded to Takealot.
In between all of this, my payment was never allocated and my order has been cancelled. I have phoned, been kept on the line for 20 minutes only to have my call cutoff. I have sent countless emails. To date I still have not received any proper feedback or resolution for this. I keep receiving generic responses.
I am beyond fedup, irate and frustrated!

False advertising
I'm very disappointed and frustrated at this incident that took place yesterday. As I scrolled throw takealot looking for a air fryer, to my surprise I saw one that shown 90% discount and it original price was R1100, sale price was R110, as a consumer i had right to purchase the item, I did and paid for it, they confirmed my order and payment sayin it I'll be delivered in 5-7 business days, I was so happy that I finally got one for cheap as air fryer is expensive, It was going to be a mother day gift. This morning to my surprise takealot canceled my order apparently "no stock" then why not indicate that before I purchased it? I'm very upset as I always buy from takealot and I love their items, how can this happen they obviously made a mistake with the price because after I ordered they changed the price to R995, I AM , I AM DISAPPOINTED IN THEIR SERVICE, as a consumer I have to pay the price I saw now they wanna refund me.
