Poor shipping and no customer service
I received a birthday gift with cheese, crackers and summer sausage. The cheese was on dry ice which was completely melted and the cheese was hot and squishy. The Customer Service line said the wait was 1 hour and 30 mins to speak to a representative. On line Chat was supposed to be faster with "0 Minutes Wait" and 15 minutes later, still no one coming on line. Now I have to call my friend who sent the gift and have her dispute it with her credit card company. GRRRR!
Recommendation: Just send a gift card. They can buy the same things at Home Goods and it will be better
Caution caution caution
They just dump your order on the récipients doorstep and send you a text with a picture of the box on the doorstep. If the package is stolen good luck getting à replacement!
I was told that after I ordered the product from Harry and David including the shipping, it was my responsibility to call the shipping company that Harry and David just set up to tell them I did not want the package left on the doorstep! Huh? Also, no supervisor would come to the phone after repeated requests. Another offshore phone bank for customer service! It was a $179 gift. Who wants à $179 dolar gift left on their doorstep?
Recommendation: Dont use Harry and David to send gifts. They just dump them on the doorstep!
Beware of Harry & David's Shady Electronic Tactics and Overpriced Products
So, I gotta tell ya, I had a pretty bad experience with Harry & David. I mean, I've had my credit card scammed before, so I'm always on the lookout for any suspicious charges. And wouldn't you know it, I got an alert on my phone for a $32.30 charge from Harry and David back in November. I didn't recognize the charge, so I cancelled my card and reported it as fraud.
Fast forward to this week, and I get an email from my credit card company saying they investigated and found that I actually made the charge under my name. I was like, "What the heck?!" So I went to the Harry & David website to check my orders, and there was only one for the amount in question. But when I looked up the item number, it didn't exist! So I called Harry & David and gave them the order number, and they said it didn't exist either.
Then the staff member suggested that it might be a "Passport Renewal" charge and transferred me to that department. The person there told me it was actually a recurring charge (which I never signed up for), and that the email alert was sent out by their "parent company" of 1-800 Flowers. I never ordered anything from them, so I probably deleted the email without reading it. What a scam, right?! They send out a notice for a recurring charge under an alias email, and then act like it's my fault for not noticing it.
I demanded a refund, but they wouldn't accommodate me until I threatened to call my credit card company back and report them for unsolicited, fraudulent charges. And don't even get me started on how overpriced their products are. I mean, who charges $25 for a few pears?! And then they resort to these shady electronic tactics to overcharge their customers even more. It's just not right.
Needless to say, I won't be buying anything from Harry & David ever again.
Harry & David: A Hot Mess Since 1800Flowers Takeover
Yo, what's up peeps,
I gotta say, Harry & David ain't what it used to be. Ever since 1800Flowers took over, the customer service has gone down the drain. I ordered four gifts for Thanksgiving and they didn't even deliver them. And when they tried to make it up to me with a 20% off coupon, they wouldn't even let me use it! Like, what's the point of sending me a coupon if I can't even use it on a regular priced item?
And don't even get me started on their Passport shipping. It's a hot mess. I had to waste so much time calling them back just to get the right credit. And when I finally got through to someone in the Philippines, the connection was terrible and they couldn't even help me. They just kept dropping me back into the queue and then hung up on me. Like, seriously?
I've been shopping online for decades and I gotta say, Harry & David is one of the worst customer service companies I've ever dealt with. And now, I'm not even gonna bother with any of the 1800Flowers companies. They all suck.
R.I.P. Harry & David. You used to be great, but now you're just a hot mess.
Terrible Customer Service and Unauthorized Charges from Harry & David
I can't believe how many other people are going through the same thing as me with this company. If you're thinking of shopping here, you gotta read the reviews first. I ordered some "thank you" packages for my friends almost two months ago. After three weeks, I checked the tracking and saw that they still weren't shipped. I was worried so I reached out to the customer service team. They told me that there was a delay with my package and they would refund my shipping fee and ship the packages as soon as possible. But after another week, I still hadn't received my refund and there were no changes with my tracking status.
A few days later, I was surprised to see an additional charge from Harry & David on my account for the same order I paid for a month earlier. I was really concerned so I reached out to customer service again. They told me that this was an Executive issue and they would have to transfer me. I waited for almost an hour before I finally spoke with someone from the "exec" team. They told me that they would look into this issue and give me a call. But it's been a few weeks and I still haven't heard anything from anyone at this company. I've called customer service several times, but I'm still getting the same runaround. It's absolutely ridiculous. I've asked for my full refunds several times and for them to delete my card information from their system so I won't be charged anymore.
I'm about to file a civil suit, but honestly, I don't even know if it's worth the money. I'm telling everyone I know not to order from this company. The customer service is useless and it seems like once they have your card information, they can do whatever they want with it, even without your authorization. This experience has made me hesitant and afraid of online shopping. I don't want companies to have access to my personal banking account. And what's even worse is that my friends never received the gifts I ordered for them. It's really disappointing.
Disappointing Customer Service Experience with Harry & David: False Promotion and Lack of Assistance
I was super excited when I saw that Harry & David had a deal on their website for buy one gift basket and get another basket for 50% off. I needed to order six baskets for my friends and family, so this deal was perfect for me. I called their customer service to ask about the promotion, but the order agent told me that he couldn't answer any questions about ongoing deals and that I would need to speak to a customer service agent. I was confused as to why he couldn't help me place my order or answer my question, but he connected me to customer service.
I waited on hold for 30 minutes, but I figured it was the holidays and they were probably busy. I left my phone number for them to call me back in the order my call was received, but I never heard anything back from them that day. The next day, I called again and spoke to someone from customer service. I tried to order my six baskets and was told that the promotion I had seen online was not available and never was available. I was disappointed that they weren't helpful at all, and now that promotion has disappeared, they would not honor it.
I felt like it would be easier to speak to an agent since my orders would be traveling all over the United States. But to have a business not return your phone call and not be able to take advantage of a great deal around the holidays that would have saved me money is very disheartening. To top it off, the customer service agent said they didn't know what I was talking about and that they never had this promotion available ever made me feel like they thought I was trying to deceive their company or take advantage of them.
I've never ordered from Harry & David before, and based on this experience, I probably won't ever again. It's disappointing to have such a negative experience with a company that I was excited to order from. I hope they can improve their customer service in the future so that others don't have the same experience as me.
Terrible Customer Service and Misleading Product Information from Harry & David
I had a really bad experience with Harry & David. I ordered two items to be shipped to two different people in two different cities. I received an email confirmation that both were delivered but when I called one of the recipients they informed me it was never delivered. I thought maybe it was just running late, so I waited a few days. But after 10 days and no package, I called Harry & David for a refund.
The customer service was terrible. They gave me a runaround and asked insulting and demeaning questions. They told me they couldn't find the order and acted like I had only placed the order that was delivered and the other one was all in my imagination. They even asked me if I was sure it was Harry & David's and not Sherries Berries. Meanwhile, I had two emails from Harry & David (which I uploaded to this review) - one confirming the order and one telling me it had been delivered even though it hadn't. I got online while they were having all this trouble locating the order and found it in 30 seconds on the Harry & David website.
After an hour on the phone and being refused a refund, I demanded to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor then informed me that even though I had ordered from Harry & David and even though I had paid Harry & David for the product, the product actually came from Sherries Berries and I would have to get my refund from them. There was nothing on their website indicating that particular product came from Sherrie's Berries. My credit card was billed by Harry & David and both the emails I received came from Harry & David's. I received no communication from Sherrie's Berries and Sherrie's Berries did not bill my credit card. Harry & David did. It's not right that I should have to call Sherrie's Berries for a refund when I paid Harry & David.
I'm 69 years old and I can honestly say I have never received customer service this bad from any company I've ever dealt with. I have used Harry & David for years, but I don't like the fact that they sold me a product that was not made by Harry & David without telling me and that after paying them, I have to go to the other guys for my refund.
I'm really disappointed with Harry & David and I won't be using them again. They have a lot of online competitors and I'll be going to them from now on.
Disappointing Customer Service Experience with Harry & David
I had a bit of a rough time with Harry & David's customer service recently. I needed to make a change to an order that hadn't been shipped yet, but the website wouldn't let me and the customer service phone line had a long wait time. When I finally got through, the agent's voice was distorted and they couldn't hear me, and when I tried the online chat feature, the agent couldn't help me and eventually disconnected the chat.
To make matters worse, the order details page on the website showed a tracking number that didn't work when I tried to track it on FedEx's website. I'm going to wait until the order actually ships to see if there's a valid tracking number then, but I'm not holding my breath.
Overall, I was really disappointed with the customer service I received from Harry & David. I've never had such a frustrating experience with a company before.
Disappointing Experience with Harry & David's Gift Sets for Bosses Day
So, I wanted to get some gift sets for my bosses for Bosses Day, which was on October 16th. I decided to order online from Harry & David, but I was really nervous about it. I called to place my order and the lady who took my order didn't seem very helpful. She took my card info and said she would email me the order number, but she never asked for my email. The next day, I called back to ask for a receipt with tracking info, but they told me the delivery address was wrong. They fixed it and told me there would be no delay.
But then, on Tuesday, I was expecting my first delivery and nothing came. On Wednesday, I called customer support and they told me the package had been delivered the day before. But I hadn't received it! They told me it was actually going to arrive on the 19th, not the 16th like I was promised. And the other gift set wouldn't even ship until November 3rd! I was so upset and asked to speak to a manager, but the call dropped. I called back three more times and finally got someone who apologized and explained that I was misinformed. One of the packages had been shipped and was on its way, but the other was on back order.
I ended up canceling the one that hadn't shipped yet and had to wait for the other one to arrive. I was so disappointed that I didn't have anything to give my bosses on Bosses Day, so I called Edible Arrangements and ordered something from them instead. I would never order from Harry & David again! The shipping was $30 and I didn't even get the items on time. It was such a waste of time and money.
Terrible Experience with Harry & David: Out of Stock Gifts, Useless Customer Service, and Canceled Orders
I gotta tell ya, I had a real bad experience with Harry & David. I was trying to get all my holiday shopping done early, so I went to their website and ordered gifts for over 20 different people. I spent like 4 hours on that dang website, picking out gifts, writing personalized notes, and choosing delivery dates. But then, a bunch of the gifts ended up being out of stock, even though they didn't say that on the website when I ordered them. And when I tried to talk to their customer service, it was a real mess. The online chat robots were useless, and when I finally got a real person, they didn't seem to understand what I was asking. And then they just hung up on me! Can you believe that?
So I tried emailing them, and that was even worse. They kept asking me for information that I had already given them, and their responses were full of spelling mistakes and bad grammar. And then, get this, 17 out of the 20 gifts in one of my orders were mysteriously canceled and refunded without any explanation or notice at all. Can you imagine? I still don't know why that happened, and I doubt I ever will. So now, 17 of my friends and family members won't be getting their Christmas presents, and I'm out a bunch of money and time. I attached one of their terrible emails so you can see what I mean. I'm so mad, I'm gonna file a formal complaint against them. Don't waste your time with Harry & David, folks.
Unleashing the Power of Creativity: A Review of 'The War of Art' by Steven Pressfield
Online purchase has turned into a nightmare and the merchandise has not arrived yet. Was in the hospital awaiting medical care around my cancer... thought I'd do gift giving as a distraction. I've ordered from the company previously without a hassle. I was unable to get their Go Santa promo for free shipping to work. The first rep said she couldn't help and couldn't connect me with a supervisor, so, she recommended I call back in an hour. I called back and spoke to a young man who processed the transaction using the free shipping promo. His computer reportedly crashed so the purchase was put throw several times. I checked my checking account and saw that Harry and David had preauth my bank to withhold funds for the purchase twice. I called to get this error rectified. The customer service rep at the Answer Center in Jamaica could not help and could not connect me with a supervisor. Contacted the corporate offices got the HR Dept. Was told to leave a detailed message with the head of HR, who was out to lunch. Her answering machine message suggested she was out of the office until 10/13, which isn't until next year. Finally, got the Executive Service team, as you can't reach the CFO or CEO of the company. There is no email address available for Diane Strong Summer-Haze who is listed as head of customer satisfaction. I spoke with "Catherine from Oregon", Executive Service team, who was going to resolve the issue. I was to receive credit so that Instead of paying for apples& pears which had been deducted from my order without my knowledge. The company was going to send the gift gratis. Well, the situation got worse as a new preauth was added making the total for my purchase 21/2 times the original cost. They were tying up $197.79 of my money at Christmas time for Cushman Honey Bell Oranges, which was to cost $30.59; and delivered in January. Catherine from Oregon said I was not listening to her because her company was not holding my money the bank was. Which was incredulous as H&D said I owed them money so they asked my bank to hold that money. Like my banks just magically came up with this preauth. She was to have someone else call me. I take it her supervisor. I heard nothing. I spoke to my bank who suggested I refer this to my bank's fraud unit, because Harry&David rep claimed to see none of the preauths. Now H&D have credited my acct. With $40.78 to make the pears& apples free; but have charged me$55.05 for some unknown reason; and this brings the total costs for the purchase on some $29.99 oranges $85.64. When I suggested the bank's fraud case H&D rep said their Finance Dept. could talk with my bank. It would take a week or more to resolve this issue. The rep supervisor was to call me. I have not heard from her supervisor. Christmas will have come and gone by then. Harry and David still have my money tied up, as they have settled the debt they believed I incurred. The preauths have not fallen off as one would expect, since I've more than paid for this fruit. I have a confirmation number and fraud claim number as proof to verify this transaction. They were given verbally by customer service reps. Guest I'll not shop here again!
Disappointing Experience with Harry & David: Double Billing, Early Delivery, and Frustrating Customer Service
I've been a loyal customer of Harry & David for more than 20 years, but my recent experiences have left me feeling disappointed and frustrated. Last year, I had a bad experience with them, and unfortunately, this year was no different.
I placed two orders worth over $500 for my family and friends, and I made sure to select the "guaranteed delivery for Christmas" option before confirming and paying for the orders. However, two weeks ago, I received a text from my credit card company asking if I was double-billed for one of the orders. To my surprise, Harry & David had charged me twice for the same order!
I tried to contact them by phone, but after being on hold for 45 minutes, I gave up. Their hold system is ridiculous, and every 2-3 minutes, a recording comes on asking if I want to continue holding or have a call back. When I choose to continue holding, I'm then asked to confirm that I really want to continue holding! It's frustrating and annoying.
So, I decided to try their "chat" feature, but the agent was clueless. She asked me to provide the names and addresses of all the people I had sent gift orders to instead of just asking for the actual order number in question. After a flurry of typing back and forth and getting nowhere, I gave up. I told her that the next step would be to contact my credit card company and submit a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
After hanging up, I called my credit card company, and I got an agent in less than 20 seconds. She understood the problem and confirmed that a credit had been issued for the double bill (well before I had the chat with Harry & David agent).
However, I received an email notification that several of the orders went out yesterday (December 2nd) by FedEx. Is this what "delivery by Christmas" is supposed to be? Why don't they just ship them out two weeks before Thanksgiving? These are supposed to be Christmas presents! FedEx traditionally delivers well within 2-3 days of shipping. All of my recipients live in major cities throughout the United States, so Harry & David can't claim that the extremely early delivery dates were because of rural addresses.
I'm not even going to bother to attempt to contact them again as it is a total exercise in frustration. My orders next year will be from Goldbelly. I had a simple delivery problem from them that was actually the fault of the delivery company, and Goldbelly bent over backwards to make sure the delivery was done right and on time even though it wasn't their fault. When I called them, I got to an agent in less than 2 minutes, and he understood the problem and assured me that he would do everything in his power to make sure it was right and I was satisfied. This is the way a company should be operating.
I see countless complaints against Harry & David, and the problems don't seem to be resolved. Gordon Ramsay, a successful restauranteur with outstanding restaurants in multiple countries, was once quoted as saying, "I welcome the complaints which gives me the opportunity to improve and make sure my customers have a great experience." This is why his restaurants have so many Michelin Stars.
Harry & David doesn't seem to learn from their mistakes, so they continue year after year. I really don't know what's happened in the last two years, but their service has definitely declined, and they do little to make it easy for customers to reach them.
I attempted to send them a complaint letter by fax, which failed multiple times (error: "bad line or receiving fax out of memory"). I ended up sending the letter by USPS mail.
In conclusion, I cannot recommend Harry and David to anyone wishing to send gifts of fruit, baked goods, or candies. It can't be guaranteed that the gift will be received on time, and if there are any other problems, it is next to impossible to reach a competent customer service agent who can resolve the problem quickly.

I made two orders on Saturday, December 16, 2023 for which I paid 160.95 and 80.97. Then, apparently, I was charged again for part of the 160.95 order again yesterday, Sunday, December 17. A charge of 104.97. I called today your 877 number and the woman refused to let me talk to a supervisor when she was unable to solve my problem and she hung up on me. I just called back and now the girl has kept me on the line waiting for 10 minutes without helping me. She just came back on to tell me that a manager will call me in an hour. I have used Harry and David for years but am seriously disappointed this year and may never use your services again.

Charged a membership fee without consent
We ordered a birthday cake through 1-800-Flowers with overnight charges. The fee was charged to our debit card and was fine. The next morning we got an additional charge of $85.48 from 800-Flowers. We inquired and they said the charge was from Harry & David whom 800-Flowers chose as the vendor for the cake. We called Harry & David and they said that it was a membership fee! So they took advantage of getting our information from a third party vendor (800-Flowers) who did not give us a choice of vendors, and banged us a membership fee? They are opportunistic if not completely a fraud. We never approved anything for Harry & David. 800-Flowers chose H&D, not us. We certainly would not have approved an $85.48 membership fee for a $107.27 purchase. The customer service rep from 800-Flowers said to call H&D. The H&D rep told us to call our bank. This is fraud and really unfair business practice. We want our money back!
Claimed loss: $85.48
Desired outcome: Credit to our checking for $85.48 at a minimum.
Advertising e-mails and mailings
Harry & David farmed out calls to a third-party call center. When I attempted to renew my membership for another year, I was asked private questions and credit card information I won't give to a third-party. I have received multiple e-mails EVERY SINGLE DAY FOR A YEAR. I consider that to be overly aggressive and harassment. For these reasons, I opted to NOT renew my membership. When I "unsubscribed" to stop receiving multiple e-mails, I started receiving multiple catalogs in the mail. I want all of it to stop right now.
Harry & David business practice and overly aggressive advertising is the reason I've cancelled my annual subscription and will not order from Harry & David again. Choosing to give all phone calls to a call center... BIG mistake.
Claimed loss: N/A
Desired outcome: Just STOP....stop e-mails and catalogs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Failure to get proper service
Today I placed and order for Dan and Nancy Schiebel as an anniversary gift.
I had hoped to use a $20 discount I got in a email from Celebration Passport. The email said that I only need to use the code PXF when the order was completed. The CSR wanted an addition 7 digit code that the email did not provifde, so he refused to honor this offer.
I switched my order to a sale item, Salmon Wellington, which offered two day delivery. But two day delivery was also refused.
I had already lost too much time. I needed a gift, so I reluctantly accepted the 10/11 delivery date, even though it was after the anniversary.
All these problems are just a continuation of problems that I already experienced with your family of businesses. In September I ordered a wreath from 1-800 Flowers. The wreath that Susan Grassman received was not the wreath that I had ordered.
I need to consider this as my last order with your company.
egift card
I purchased an egift card on June 14, 2023 for $200...my order # CND6JVT7CG My son Eric received an email telling him how to use the egift card. He was going to wait for the holidays to order. The email from Harry & David was accidentally deleted when he updated his computer.
I spoke to at least 3-4 representatives who either didn't understand what to do...or just plain didn't know how to do a refund or send a new egift card.
I have ordered from Harry & David for years and have never had a problem with their products. I am so disappointed with their customer service though. At the end of the day I talked to another representative who seemed to understand ...and she said she would send me another egift card by email in 24 to 48 hours. When I see it, I'll believe it.
Desired outcome: I would like a replacement egift card or a refund for $200....Thank You, Mary Ann Weeden [protected]@cox.net
Oregold peaches
I have purchased the wonderful peaches for the past 5 and have always raved about them. I ordered a bit later than usual but was still able to receive them which made me happy. However, out of 9 peaches, 5 of them were mealy, brown inside and inedible. I have never had an issue with one peach before. If they were over-ripe when I ordered them, they should have told me it was too late in the season to order them. These are not cheap and I was very disappointed.
Desired outcome: I would like a refund or a free shipment next year when they are at their best.Thank you.
Awful Shipping Practices and horrendous customer service
Harry and David have one of the worst ordering and delivery systems I have ever encountered. I ordered a gift basket for my wife and they offered an add-on for a discount. However, they then asked how I wanted my order shipped. I chose to pay $20 extra for next-day delivery. The company then shipped the add-on (which ruined the surprise) for $20 (It was only a $30 item) and shipped the main present to arrive the next day. They ruined the surprise and told me I chose $20 shipping for just the add-on. The only option was to pay $20 extra for shipping; nowhere did it say it was $20 just for the $30 item because who would pay to ship an add-on faster than the actual gift and at nearly the same price as the add-on?!
When I reached out to their customer service, they apologized, offered NOTHING, and then said they would be willing to send an apology letter to my wife. That's it, a completely worthless apology letter.
I will never order from Harry and David again.
Desired outcome: None. I'm done shopping with them forever.
Delivery disaster.
Ordered a Peach berry pie. It arrived with the brown sugar melted complete through the cake and packaging. The pie was on the road, in over 100 degree temperatures for 2 days. I find it hard to believe that FEDX doesn't have refrigerated delivery for very perishable items. Ice packs probably melted day one of delivery. I already have resolved issue with live chat. I would feel better if you had photo proof at time of opening package.
Desired outcome: Mony back has been taken care of
Favorites Club Collection
I received my Favorites Club Collection for the month of July in extremely poor condition.
Listed as a Peach and Berry pie' , It was more like a cinnamon cake with a berry type filling. Extremely wet soggy, with poor packaging, I have been the recipient of Favorites Club Collection and other club's in the past .and mostly satisfied. The product was received July 7th, setting on my porch in 100+ degree weather. I don't know time of delivery but I found it in the early evening. No apparent ice but packaging wet and soggy.
I know these clubs are very expensive and I let my family know what I have received and the condition..
Desired outcome: Refund to the Person who ordered the product or replacement.
Disappointing Experience with Harry & David: Cancelled Order on Christmas Eve
I gotta say, I had a pretty rough experience with Harry & David. I placed a big ol' order for some gift towers for my close friends and family, spending a whopping $807 over the phone on December 15th, 2020. The salesman on the phone put me on hold for each individual recipient to "check their inventory and reserved it." Seemed like a good sign, right? Well, at the end of the order, the phone salesman convinced me to buy a $26 policy for free delivery for a year, including my current order. I figured, why not? Gotta save some cash where I can.
Fast forward to Christmas Eve, and I hadn't heard from anyone about their gifts. I was starting to get worried, so I called up Harry & David to see what was going on. After a whopping 30 minutes on hold, their phone person told me that the balance of my order had been cancelled. What?! I asked who and why it got cancelled, and they put me on hold again for another 20 minutes to talk to a "supervisor." Finally, the supervisor told me that they were sold out of all their goods and nothing would be available until the end of January. "I apologize," she said. Well, that's all well and good, but it doesn't help me now, does it?
What really grinds my gears is that they obviously lied to me about reserving the product for each order. And on top of that, they didn't even bother to inform me that they were cancelling my order so I could get a gift somewhere else. That's just plain rude, if you ask me. So there I was, on Christmas Eve, with no gifts and no explanation for their behavior. Not cool, Harry & David. Not cool at all.
Mixed Experience with Harry & David's Fruit Gift Boxes & Shipping Fees
I recently ordered three fruit gift boxes from Harry & David's website, with the expectation that they would arrive before December 24th. Unfortunately, only two of the three gifts were delivered, and to make matters worse, one of the boxes contained bad fruit. I reached out to Harry & David's customer service team to inquire about the missing gift and the quality of the fruit, but I have yet to receive a response about the third gift box.
Despite this issue, I did receive a response from Harry & David's customer service team regarding their shipping fees. They explained that their standard shipping fee is based on the regular price of items shipping to each named recipient, and that all other shipping fees are charged in addition to the standard shipping fee. They also provided information about their Express Delivery fees, which range from $9.99 for 3-day express to $24.99 for Priority Overnight Express.
To reduce or eliminate shipping costs on future orders, Harry & David's customer service team recommended purchasing their Celebrations Passport program. For a membership fee of $29.99, customers can receive free 2-day delivery for one year on all Harry & David items (excluding wine gifts and clubs), as well as discounts for overnight and exact-day delivery. The program also eliminates the surcharge for gifts to Alaska, Hawaii, and P.O. Boxes, and provides delivery charge reductions with all of Harry & David's Celebrations Family of Brands, including 1-800-Flowers, Cheryl's Cookies, The Popcorn Factory, and more.
Overall, while I was disappointed with the missing gift and the bad fruit, I appreciate Harry & David's efforts to provide information about their shipping fees and their Celebrations Passport program. I hope to receive a response about the third gift box soon, and I will consider purchasing the Celebrations Passport program for future orders.
Disappointed with Harry and David's Service During COVID: A Review
I've been using Harry and David for years and I've always been pretty happy with their service. But recently, during this COVID time, I've been spending a lot of money to try and keep my family members happy. Unfortunately, we've lost one family member (not due to COVID) and another family member is currently dealing with cancer and is quarantined from her family members. It's been a tough time for us all.
Harry and David is one of the few companies that are still operating, so I decided to order some gifts for my family members. I spent several hundred dollars on these gifts, hoping to bring some joy to their lives. But then, Harry and David didn't fulfill my order in time and they didn't even bother to tell me about the delay. I had to call them to find out what was going on.
When I finally got through to them, they apologized and offered me 20% off for shipping. They also offered me an apology letter to give to my family. And to top it off, they offered me 20% off on my next purchase. But honestly, I don't think I'll be making another purchase from them anytime soon.
I've spent a lot of money with Harry and David recently and in the past, so you'd think they'd value me as a customer. But it seems like they don't really care about loyalty or customer satisfaction. They just want to make as much money as possible, even if it means making gross errors and not taking responsibility for them.
I'm really disappointed with Harry and David's service and I won't be recommending them to my friends and family anymore. If you're thinking about using them, I'd advise you to be careful. They might not treat you as well as they should.
I hope Harry and David learn from this experience and start treating their customers with more respect. Common decency can go a long way, especially during tough times like these.
Disappointing Experience with Harry & David's Wine and Cheese Club Subscription
So, I wanted to get my sister a really nice birthday gift, and I thought a subscription to Harry & David's Wine and Cheese Club would be perfect. I mean, who doesn't love wine and cheese, right? So, I ordered a 3-month subscription in April, and I scheduled the first shipment to arrive on her birthday, which was May 5th.
Well, her birthday came and went, and there was no shipment, no tracking, nothing. I was starting to get worried, so I emailed customer service to see what was going on. But, I didn't hear back from them for a whole week! When they finally did respond, they blamed Covid 19 for the delay. I mean, I get it, things are crazy right now, but they should have let me know that there would be a delay. They could have put something on their website or sent me an email or something.
Anyway, they said they would send my sister an email letting her know about her gift and that it would arrive sometime in May. But, they never sent the email! I had to email them back and remind them to send it. And, even then, they didn't respond. It was really frustrating.
Finally, the first shipment arrived at the end of May, and they sent tracking information after the fact. I mean, what's the point of that? The second shipment arrived without incident, but then came July. My sister texted me to say that she had only received the wine, and not the cheese. So, I called customer service, and they told me that the cheese just hadn't been shipped yet. Are you kidding me? When the cheese finally did arrive, it was the exact same cheese as the previous month. I mean, come on!
I used to think really highly of Harry & David, but this experience has really flipped my opinion. I gave them 2 stars because my sister said everything tasted okay, but honestly, it was just a huge hassle. And, to top it all off, my inbox has been bombarded with promotional emails from them. Now that all three months have been delivered, I'm definitely going to unsubscribe.
Disappointing Experience with Harry & David: Incompetent Handling of Order
I recently had an experience with Harry & David that left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. I had placed an order on January 8th, 2022 for a Valentine's Day wreath and received an email confirming that I would receive my order by January 20th, 2022. However, on January 18th, 2022, I received an email stating that the wreath was no longer available and that I needed to call in order to choose a different item.
I was confused by this, as I had checked their website on January 18th and the wreath was still available for sale. I couldn't understand why they would send me an email saying it was no longer available when it clearly was. I was frustrated that they didn't simply refund my money and move on, instead of wasting my time and forcing me to call in order to "choose a different item".
When I called them on January 18th, I was told that the email I received was incorrect and that the item was not sold out. The representative confirmed that there were no issues with inventory and that my order would arrive by February 2nd, 2022. I was relieved to hear this, but still confused by the conflicting information I had received.
Unfortunately, my relief was short-lived. On January 26th, 2022, I received another email stating that they were "unable to process my order because they needed additional information" and that I needed to call or they would cancel my order. I called them and was told that my order was sold out and I needed to choose a different item. I couldn't believe it. Why waste my time like this? And to make matters worse, the item I had originally ordered, the Elegant Heart Wreath, was still showing as available on their website as of today, January 26th.
Overall, I have to say that my experience with Harry & David was extremely disappointing. I feel like they were incompetent and didn't handle my order properly. I won't be doing business with them again.
Harry & David Thanksgiving Disaster: Missing Turkey, Poor Customer Service, and Overcharging
We was so excited to order a pre-cooked turkey, cranberry sauce and stuffing from Harry & David for our Thanksgiving feast. We paid $166 for everything, including $30 for delivery. But, things didn't go as planned. Three days before Thanksgiving, we got the cranberry sauce. The day before Thanksgiving, we got the stuffing. But, the turkey never came. We was so upset and frustrated.
On Thanksgiving Day, we called Harry & David five times. The first four times, we talked to people in other countries who barely spoke English. They had families and children talking in the background, and the Harry & David representative was trying to help us with our order. The first person told us that the turkey was lost and offered to refund us $40 of the $166 order. The second person told us that the turkey was on the way and should arrive at midnight on Thanksgiving day. The third person had children screaming so loudly that neither of us could hear each other, so we hung up. The fourth person told us that the turkey would arrive on Friday and offered to discount us $45.
Finally, we talked to an American representative. They apologized and offered to fully refund our order. We was so relieved. But, about an hour later, we received two invoices: one for $46 and one for $96. They said INVOICE, not REFUND. So, it appears that Harry & David have now charged us $166 for a turkey we did not receive AND have now charged us an additional $141 for our trouble. We was so angry and disappointed.
We have been customers of Harry & David for 25 years. We have always loved their products and their customer service. But, this experience has left us with no words. We are so upset and frustrated. We will have to spend even more time trying to negotiate a bill for extra money. We hope that Harry & David will make this right and restore our faith in their company.
Terrible Customer Service Experience with Harry & David: Delayed Delivery, Unauthorized Charges, and No Resolution
So, I ordered some goodies from Harry & David and was supposed to get them on 11/11. But, the tracking still says "confirmed" and I haven't received anything yet. When I called customer service, the lady told me that it would be delivered on 11/11 of this year. I was like, "duh, today is 11/11!" She then put me on hold for 15 minutes and came back to tell me that it hadn't shipped yet. She said she would send a replacement and I would get an email with a new tracking number. But, it's now 11/12 and I still haven't received anything or gotten an email. They charged my card again without my permission and when I called customer service, they transferred me and then hung up on me after 1.5 hours on hold. When I called back, they said it would be delivered today, but they couldn't give me a tracking number. I asked to speak to a supervisor, but they said there wasn't one available. When I asked about the charge on my card, they put me on hold and then came back to say it was a credit, but I could see that it was a charge on my account. They didn't offer to fix anything and just told me to wait and see if it gets delivered. This is the worst customer service ever! I'm going to dispute all the charges and report the fraudulent ones that I didn't authorize.
Disappointing Experience with Harry & David's Christmas Baskets: A Review
I wanted to send some Christmas baskets to Canada and decided to check out Harry & David's website on December 1st. Unfortunately, the website wouldn't allow me to enter Canadian addresses. Thankfully, the chat help line was able to provide me with a Canadian website to use. However, when I tried to purchase two gift baskets to be sent to different addresses, the website only accepted the first one and defaulted to the US site. I decided to call their agents number and opted for a call back since they said the line was busy and I wouldn't lose my place in line. Unfortunately, no one called me back. I tried to buy one basket at a time, but it still wouldn't go through.
After spending over 6 hours on the website, calls, and chats, I finally got through to an agent on December 12th after waiting for 49 minutes on hold. The lady who helped me was lovely and very helpful. She took my order and picked out the baskets I wanted to send. She told me they would arrive between December 22nd and 24th. However, when those dates came and went, I started to worry.
I tried to call the company and opted to talk to an agent. After waiting for 12 minutes on hold, the phone line defaulted to the answering service. No one called me back. On December 26th, I received an email from Harry & David saying that my baskets didn't make it and I had 48 hours to contact them and select another basket. When I went on their website, I couldn't find any baskets in my price range until January 12th. I was furious at this point.
I tried to call an agent again, but went to voicemail twice. I left a polite but very cross message asking them to call me back. I also sent an email. An agent did call me back within an hour and apologized for the delay. He told me that no basket would arrive before late January. I was so upset that I asked for my money back. I had already told my family that they would be receiving baskets, so this was a huge disappointment.
I did receive a phone call later about my email, and they were once again very sorry. However, I told them that I would never use their services again and that I would be writing a review. I'm sorry that I couldn't attach a receipt, but I only have a purchase on my credit card since I did it through the agent and I never received an email receipt.
